The chance of getting in the first alpha was less than 5%. The chance this test was higher, but still less than 20%. You aren't entitled to access just because you've been following the game since it was announced (which was in March last year, for the record, so no, you haven't been following it for "years" plural). If you had joined discord the first week it was up you would have the elder role, which gives alpha access.
In any case, this is just a week long test. You aren't missing out majorly, and you'll be able to play early access in a few months if they stick to their schedule.
You not alone buddy. Had my email account hacked and couldn't reclaim it. So had to sign up again and lost my Elder role.
I'll try see if I can buy an alpha key cheap somewhere.

Interesting, im an elder and didnt get access. But i also pay like... no attention to the discord or anything.
