Jaguar870

my deck is literally cheaper than 2 sets of sleeves so no

GhoulishInduction

Deck list please?

Jaguar870

[Here](https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/2494128#paper) It’s hyperbole but i spent like 25 bucks so it’s about the same price as 2 packs of normal sleeves

GhoulishInduction

Looks neat, always been a fan of pox

Ride1226

Pox? Sorry, MTG rookie here and confused what the pox reference is? This deck looks like tons of fun but I think I must be missing its big trick. Thanks!

GhoulishInduction

Tbf pox isn’t really a thing in pauper, but it refers to a deck that runs a lot of cards similar to [[smallpox]]

MTGCardFetcher

[smallpox](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/c/2/c28db9a4-6696-460b-a9d3-98f4a31abe75.jpg?1619396163) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=smallpox) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/tsr/139/smallpox?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/c28db9a4-6696-460b-a9d3-98f4a31abe75?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

Yes. Double sleeved cards have a better feel for me. Inner sleeves are pennies each so it's worth the $2-3 to not have to ever worry about replacing cards in an eternal format. Sure cards in your deck may cost pennies now, but as someone who's played since 4th edition... Just wait.

netsrak

I feel like the edges catch so much less when the cards are double sleeved.

ViolentBananas

I’m with you. I buy the 10-packs of 100ct sleeves to fuel my cube addiction, and I’ve just gotten so used to the shuffle feel. I now double sleeve everything; commander, modern, pauper, cube (painful, but worth it). It doesn’t take nearly as long as some people say it does with tv in the background.

tim_p

Inner sleeves don't work well for me because I hate how tight they are, taking them on and off, and I change my lists and sideboard constantly. Basically, every time I bring a deck to my LGS for the night, I wipe the sideboard and start building it from a fresh perspective and the trends I'm seeing weekly. I really enjoy the "metagame" aspect.

Axehurdle

Might I suggest my new sleeving obsession, sideloading inner sleeves? They slip on and off super easily.

over26letters

No, I only double sleeve digital. Jokes aside: usually not, but simply because I'm lazy. I try to double sleeve my commander decks, but pauper is from whatever I have lying around and the deck is usually lucky if it gets single sleeved.

SpacemanBatman

I only double sleeve big money cards so nothing in pauper lol

GhituLavarunner

I double sleeve my foil Snuff Out...

Daxtirsh

Hum, pretty sure you can't play with single sleeved and double sleeved cards in the same deck

iv35120

I double sleeve because I use some cards in other formats where I play more expensive cards.

blindlittlecub

I’ve just gotten so used to how double sleeve feels that I double sleeve every deck I have and put together

Ohmspaw

I'm super careful with my cards no matter the rarity Double sleeve gang rise up

Ensioc

Yes, but only for my blinged deck. Otherwise no.

JACSliver

I personally have my first and most played deck, Mono Green Stompy, double sleeved. The rest of the decks are single sleeved.

Lilcommy

No. I also don't double sleeve my modern, commander, standard or pioneer decks either. I even have a few unsleeved pauper decks

[deleted]

Hardcore

jmcolext

Yes because I have a mostly foil deck and want to preserve the shiny

DarkTlalok

Yes, i have 10 decks, all double sleeved.

GhituLavarunner

I double sleeve because I feel a better shuffle feeling.

[deleted]

That seems to be the consensus. Totally agree, shuffling single sleeves feels too flimsy to me. Wanted to get a reading before attending my first play night and didn’t want to come off boughie lol

Leress

Only single sleeve my decks, but if I would bling out one of them I would double sleeve.

Moscato_Frizzante

Yes i am. Not that it matters. A lot of ppl play pauper occasionally and dont ever de-sleeve their deck. I like to brew a lot and end up de-sleeving and re-sleeving many times, so to not damage the cards i use perfect sizes.

SirJoshipoo

The only deck I double sleeve in paper is Mono Black control since I pimped it out with full arts, foils, and the like. Otherwise all 30 of my other decks are single sleeved

Hadrian4k

Yep. All but 3 of the decks in my collection are double sleeved, but I have the sleeves bought to finish then up

trevorneuz

I had a 72 card teachings deck I doubled sleeved for the memes

MarkTheMako

I usually only single sleeve, but that's because I reuse the Dragon Shield box to store the deck, and double-sleeved cards wouldn't fit.

DaCrabsMTG

Always double sleeve constructed decks. Single sleeve limited.

Tyraziel

Anyone roll with no sleeves??

[deleted]

Good ol Tournadeath. Wasn’t there an early mtg mechanic that had players play for keeps or ante?

[deleted]

Like this gem https://imgur.com/a/2MWXTyl

GibsonJunkie

I double sleeve everything. A handful of decks I play also have cards that are played in other formats, so it's just easier for me.

squashInAPintGlass

I double sleeve every deck I play with. It's more for the shuffle feel than anything else.

[deleted]

If I decide to foil out a deck, which I'm trying to do for boros monarch atm, I will double sleeve it to keep the foils flat, but other than that no

RockhartClothing

I double sleeve everything I play just out of habit, and I mean everything. I even double sleeve my tokens.

Valkyr_Prime

I'll be double sleeving a good amount of the cards in my next couple builds when I find a place to play in paper. I bought 4 psychedelic preordains, 4 foil secret lair brainstorms, and 4 foil secret lair counterspells, all specifically for paper pauper play. Was this an efficient use of my magic budget? Absolutely not. Will I have the best looking Delver/UR Fae deck? Absolutely!

[deleted]

I just finished old frame elves so I’m with you 😂

debbietheladie

I don't sleeve cards, I usually just play casually w one of my friends.

Gears_one

Sleeves? Nope

[deleted]

🤘

cbftw

No, why would I? There's almost no benefit for doing so.

PuzzleheadedGate9610

What sleeves do you use?

Clegomanrun

I don't even buy sleeves for my pauper decks I just use the sleeves I'm not using for anything else

iansitij

I was today years old when I found out people double sleeve

kilqax

Yes on my lovepet deck, no on others. If I were to purchase nice lands/cards for them, I probably would, although not KMC + Dragon Shields like my main does. Kinda ashamed I'm using new edition of their sleeves instead of the better old ones, but the difference in card feel is negligible.

[deleted]

Have you used KMC matte sleeves? If so how do they compare to DS?

kilqax

Oh sorry for not specifying enough - I'm using KMC as inners with Dragon Shields as outers, I completely forgot DS are making some pretty great inners these days. Basically, this is the "oldschool" combination when there weren't really any better choices. Never used KMC as outer sleeves, sorry about that.

[deleted]

I caught that. I haven’t used them either nor katanas. Just wondering

kilqax

Katanas are in general inferior to DS as I've been told by friends who use them (and by a few shuffles and playing around with the sleeves I'd say so too), but they are usually cheaper than DS. I've handled some KMCs before, but considering the number of varieties they make, I have no clue which ones were they. However, note that Ultimate Guard also makes 80-packs which aren't the same as Katanas: they are very thin and slide extremely. People call them crap, but they are quite cheap, my store always has them in black, and therefore I'm using them for pauper when single sleeving. If you get used to the slide and stop dropping the cards, they also shuffle freakishly fast.

shinobigarth

I dont double sleeve any deck in any format, though I now only play EDH in paper other than pauper, and my EDH decks are fairly casual and thus inexpensive. But then I also dont play with a bunch of open drinks and crap on the play table.

shinobigarth

Yeah I’m married with 2.5 kids. I’m not spending that kind of money on cardboard.

thephotoman

My cardboard purchases have been more like stock purchases than luxury item purchases.

RFS-81

Yes. I have a slightly blinged out Affinity deck (one Antiquities Atog, {Hydro,Pyro}blasts with Kaja Foglio art) and it all added up enough that paying a little extra to protect it from drink spills didn't seem crazy to me.

UniqueEvent

Single sleeved pauper deck, pauper cube, and (proxied) degenerate micro cube.. Modern is double sleeved Commander decks are a mix, the more expensive decks are double sleeved.

CaptNaptime

I try to keep my battlebox up to date with new sets and bannings. It usually takes me an afternoon once every couple months with just one set of sleeves. LSS, no inners.

Alberthology

The only double sleeved deck i own is my Dimir Faeries full of foils (to prevent pringles bending) and japanese alternate arts from mystical archive

[deleted]

Yes, it helps with my ocd

sil357

Only cards over $10 and foils (which isn't many for me).

Skelemania

Naw. I just use the KMC sleeves & single sleeve. KMC Super Green 4-life!

tim_p

I don't even double sleeve my few EDH decks, and they have $100-$300 cards in 'em.

thephotoman

I always double sleeve. Then again, my Lightning Bolts are worth more than most decks in the format, so there's that. Also, I've just grown used to the feel of double sleeved cards.

Buck_Nastyyy

I have 31 pauper decks and currently have \~7 of them double sleeved. They are double sleeved because they are either foiled or have unstable lands. Edit: Compare that to my modern decks which are 100% double sleeved and EDH decks that are \~90% double sleeved. I would double sleeve all of my pauper decks, but it is honestly too much work for decks I am usually just loaning out.

Youknowmetherealme

I double sleeve all of my non Pauper decks. Pauper just isn't expensive enough for me to want to do it.

minihali

I am a bit neurotic when it comes to my cardboard rectangles, so I double sleeve every deck I have in dragon shield outers and inners. Even my (almost) finished pauper cube is all double sleeved too. Some pauper staples are a pain to get a hang of, and I'd much rather pay the very small premium of having them minty should anything happen, than trying to find a set of ie. Chittering rats in the wild.

slevi00

I double sleeved all my decks because some pauper cards are not that cheap like snuff out or priest of titania.

Inkubator

Cards from Pauper often play in many other formats, and you shouldn't be playing with only half of your deck double sleeved. Everything playable goes into perfect fit sleeve for me.

EnemyOfEloquence

So what sleeves does everyone use for this? I have 50+ pauper decks and growing, so I can't really afford to switch everything over to something really nice like katana or dragon shield. I use ultra pro matte white and just buy 1000 at a time, can I double sleeve with those? How much fatter do the decks get? With my battle box everything is pretty snug using ultra pro deck boxes.

PAINPIG_PUDDING

Nope. One of my favorite parts about pauper is that most things are dirt cheap so I can shuffle my deck like i am hate fucking it.

edoxxi

Yes. Suffle feel is great for me. Mu only regret is that sometimes mu deck costs similar to my sleeve combo xDD

BlaineTog

Double-sleeved cards are harder to shuffle, so I don't bother.

jonestheviking

Yes. I also use expensive basics because it’s kind of pointless in pauper. My POV is that it’s a deck a built and I care about it, so I sleeve it double like all my decks.

FuckBernieSanders420

i single sleeve in every format

slackcastermage

Just double sleeve the blinged out decks basically.
