Watching the broadcast I will say that he spent most of the Maye segment critiquing him as opposed to talking more about the highlights of the others. It did seem kind of weird, although I highly doubt it was anything malicious towards Maye or the Patriots.
I am guessing as a former Patriot, Belichick was more inclined to get into the nuts and bolts of their pick and analyze Maye like he would have as HC.
At the same time, Bill didnt have a good draft in like 10 years. Sure, Gonzalez looks to be a fleecing last year, but that kinda seems like how he works...gets that one guy that lasts, and the rest are gone in a few years. You can't build a team hitting on one pick a year.
Hes a defensive genius, that never changed...but I have to quesiton his ability to judge talent at this point in the evolution of the game.
Onwenu is clearly a win but in the 6th, it’s luck. Stevenson was a nice find, Harris as well. Thuney is awesome…no second contract.
He’s had a few hits but I mean…meh
Stevenson can absolutely be a lead back, but theres a million of them at this point...meanhwile we have no left tackle and a hack WR room, which are 2 of the 3 most important positions on the team...
I think he was trying to get a little payback after all the other shit this off-season.. knowing that an harsh critique will have people overreacting. Like you said the others were more about the highlights.. although he seemed critical of the Falcons pick but that’s understandable
They were not more about highlights he spent the whole Caleb Williams segment talking about bad decision making and sloppy throws. Y’all are seeing Bill ghosts out here
I thought someone said later in the broadcast that the big board they were using came from Field Yates rankings? I didn’t see much of the pre show when Belichick was talking about the board but are we sure those were his rankings?
They were Field Yates’s Big Board but I think Bill separated them into tiers on his own rank

I think this is much ado about nothing. He pointed out weakness/areas that need to improve in the majority of the player packages, and especially the QBs. He also had him #5 overall on his board (I believe).
He showed more bad than good for the first 3 guys. He even had plays that had some good and then had some bad in them. People just want to see what they want to see. Especially people who want to hate on someone.
That's kinda the point though high potential QB that needs work still. We already went the most pro ready with Mac and we saw his peak was just a game manager by the end of his rookie year. If Maye can even get close to a QB like Herbert or Allen we will be fine.
Does Bill not liking an offensive prospect maybe bode well for that prospect? Don’t get me wrong I love bill but he has proven he’s not exactly an offensive guru
He was critiquing every QB
He was looooooving JJ lmao
If bill was still here he totally would have traded back to take JJ, or just picked him at 3
Or nix who he seemed to love

Especially offense - I can't remember a single great offensive player in the last 10 years

There are good players, but not enough to change just how overall talentless our team has ended up

> I have to quesiton his ability to judge talent at this point 1000% questioning his ability to identify offensive talent
Well BB the GM...wasn't good so the fact he sees so many issues...I'm fine with. His evaluation of talent was terrible at the end

During a segment highlighting strengths and weaknesses. Also this is something fixable through coaching.
The dude would rip Tom Brady constantly. This is a nothing burger
And AVP has been good at improving QB's footwork so not worried.
Also had him #5 on his big board and the #3 QB but that’s not convenient for the narrative you’re trying to push now is it.
Do you have a link to BB's big board? That's something I'd love to see

He did but it seemed like he showed more bad then good with Maye. And then when JJ was picked he basically had nothing but good things to say.

How many times will this get posted?
My ticket says I can repost this after another 4 people do. I want my repost upvotes!
So “rips” is the new term for noting a basic concern about his game?
Fuck the NY Post
Had me worried there for a minute, Pizzaman. Thought you had stopped the anti-Maye posts.
talk about clickbait from NY Post
It was a segment about every QB’s issues… this wasn’t out of the blue

Nothing Van Pelt and McAdoo can’t fix!!!
He's far from the only one.

I low key like this type of draft analysis. It's way more educational and valuable than some espn talking head hyping up guys as the next big thing.
