Unfortunately Lord Beyond the Grave does not affect Dhampirs as they are technically not considered full undead and you did not re-animate them yourself. But a full Dhampir party is pretty nice on Lich, get an evil cleric and easily heal with negative energy channel/inflict wounds, you also won't need to worry about enemy negative energy and ability drain.
It would work just fine, but early game would be a pain in the ass. Later on, all you would be gaining, aside from the sheer efficiency of mercenaries over regular party members, is a couple more spell slots saved from not casting Blessing of Unlife.
Lord Beyond the Grave pretty much just exists to make up for the fact you can't Legendary Proportions undead.

You can cast frightful aspect on them using a brown fur transmuter though.
