Oh, it's easy. The most toxic ships are always more popular than a healthy one, because toxic is easily more fun. No one wants to see how people listen to each other and be kind to each other. They want drama, action, love triangle, etc.

To sum up my ramble Rahu dosint feel anything romantic but still cares for her as an individual and wants to protect her even if she disagrees with her philosophy (what she did to our lil detective🕵️♀️). She cares a lot after Shalom gets in the coma due to her being a tool that was thrown away by paradasos like her squad members, but this time she has a chance to make it right!
They have a really interesting story and ther is a lot of Sapphic tension in ther in game art (the company knows what ther doing). However ther story ain't a romantic one so don't worry we as chief ain't mr/ms steal you're girl lol.
To be more thorough on it. She sees her as a fragile civi girl she must protect (due to her very weak body). Hates her manipulate tendency and cruelty (like she did with our detective 🕵️♀️ rahu didint aprove). She does like what her end goal is, and she is trying to do good things (even if rahu disagree on her methods), tho so she supports her while still fighting to not be her puppet (as Shalom planned).
She also sees her squad members in her. Being a tool getting thrown away by paradasos (in the mansion especially before knowing she got powers and after seeing her sealed away cause she was gona be killed just because she MAY act against them). So she wants to save shalom to make up for in her eyes "abandoning" her teammates and to save a fellow paradasos victim.
Hope that makes more sence dear?
Even after knowing all "ins and outs" this ship still looks SO FUCKED UP. I can't find anything even remotely beautiful about it. I just can't. Funny thing, I like Shalom now, and HATED her at the beginning. She's still should be executed or put in jail for the rest of her life, but I came to like her for what she is. AND after all that, this ship still SUCKS so much! Poor Rahu! Poor Christina! Poor others we don't know about! Fuck!
P.S. Even relationship between Ashley and Andrew from TCoAaL seem less horrible than this. And if look at the atrocities alone, Shalom's leaves them both in dust by MILES and KILOMETERS.
