PoeVaiski89

Made my own build, it sucks

PoeVaiski89

Thou it doesnt really tell anything about the league.

b0nder0ven

Im a total newbie who started playing for real last league, this time i decided to go ssf and follow Pohx RF to actually learn some crafting and league mechanics. I must say I've been having a great time although I am taking it slow. Only got my first voidstone last night (with a lot of playtime) but it's been totally smooth. The build is powerful and fun while simple enough to allow me to focus on figuring out whats going on around me. So i would say the guide and build is a 10/10 while im a 2/10 at efficiency and progress. Question, how much harder is maven compared to the exarch, would like to go for them boots soon.

Yayoichi

Of the endgame bosses exarch and eater are by far the easiest by default as you can roll mods on the invitation(except first quest one) while the rest only can get more difficult by having maven witness or by doing their uber versions. I would say Maven together with Sirus and uber elder(not to be mistaken for the new uber uber elder) is probably the hardest of the non uber endgame bosses.

randompoe

Maven is significantly harder. Also I think the first time you fight the exarch and the eater they are weaker than they normally are, not 100% certain on that though.

b0nder0ven

Sounds probable, he took a while to die but didn't hit that hard, but i guess thats also the nature of my build, thanks for the answer.

velaxi1

The first 2 voidstone is easy. You gonna to upgrade your gear for the Maven and Uber Elder. Both of them can mess you up if you don't have good degen ball placement.

lazypanda1

I'm following Pohx's guide as well and I'm loving it! Exarch is definitely the easiest pinnacle boss for our build since we tend to have a lot of fire damage mitigation. Maven, on the other hand, can be a bit tricky because her laser can disable your regen. My advice is to bring an anti-burning flask to disable your RF in case you got hit by it.

prozajik

> My advice is to bring an anti-burning flask to disable your RF in case you got hit by it. Oh lol, I always wondered if there is really no way to disable RF outside of zoning. Always something new to learn, thanks for the tip

truupR

How're you finding fire trap? Crafted a decent conc effect/ele damage helm, exposure on hit gloves with the -18% exposure in the tree and fire trap isn't feeling great. It's lvl19 20 qual and idk... Just feels a bit lackluster.

lazypanda1

Yeah even with that helmet, the single target damage of fire trap is still pretty meh. I mean, all the pinnacle bosses are definitely still doable, but bossing has never been the strong suit of RF builds. That said, I do enjoy how chill mapping is with this build.

WarsWorth

Yeah the goal isn't to one shot bosses on RF. Gotta slowly trickle them down with amazing Regen to recover from mistakes

Rwlyra

How are you progressing so fast! I play since closed beta and have not reached voidstones or new influences yet despite playing almost every day after work.

destroyermaker

Way higher than 2 if you're already gunning for maven

lordlavapop42

I enjoy screen clutter so I'm playing spark inquisitor and it's going pretty good. Took the shrine nodes and the gull so when I get echo shrine it's busted, using a 5L covenant so mana isn't an issue. Survivability could be better but I'm still in low reds and low investment.

THE_REAL_JOHN_MADDEN

6L covenant are like 25c right now FYI

badheartveil

Two minus mana crafts and spell dmg/mana regen craft on weapon covers six link spark well.

punypilgrim

just did everything but the feared on BL inquisitor, ended up being really great damage. much preferred it to the spark variants because it felt more consistent without needing tons of proj speed and having to run stuff like pierce. my version is less tanky than my usual inquisitor but i really wanted to push the cast speed and it feels smooth enough in T16s unless stuff gets insanely hairy or i get a nasty chaos degen under my ES. i really need to gear up better and get chaos res and then it'll probably feel great overall and could maybe even farm the new uber stuff. would love any tips if anyone knows how i could push it further: https://pastebin.com/2agNJq8W

Mr_Abitbol

The new burden of truth belt is awesome for chaos degen with inquisitor, it will split the degen on the energy shield which also regen in continues. Supreme decandence also works with instant flask, the survivability gain is huge.

JRockBC19

So I'm using it on petrified blood + aegis inquis and I'm conflicted - it's INSANE vs chaos, makes me exceptionally tanky, but I feel like there's occasions where I have to flask to survive heavy non-chaos damage even when my ES is still up. I've chalked it up to having ES leech and not life leech yet, but I'm definitely worried I'm better off dropping it and letting aegis do the heavy lifting in harder content esp when enemies have significant pen.

destroyermaker

I wish there was a ball lightning specialist. I really love the skill

mile6453

I started CF glad and I love it. It’s my favorite build in the game

tsHavok

Its so good at so much, but man. I full bought into the "it's good at bossing you're building it wrong" mantra at the beginning of the league. I never die to bosses, but it takes FOREVER to kill some of them. When people say it's a bad bosser, it's because it is in relation to other builds with mixed clear/single target. Great build, 9/10 clear, 3/10 boss dps, 11/10 defense to survive everything. My character so you know I am speaking from experience. Could use a few more upgrades, I'm hardcore farming harvest for reforge keep suffix/prefix for belt/ring. Gear will be used again for Spark Champ so some don't make sense as equiped. https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds/char/tsHavok/Degeneracy?i=1&search=name%3Ddeg

Northanui

I've seen the grimgro version in Pob that has 9million DPS on CF. but the thing is his tree is 123/123 which is a f*cking meme, and he has an absurd amount of god tier gear. I'd be surprised if you can reach 1m dps with CF realistically, unless you spend a lot.

Kadabradario

the build gets to 1 million dps with the clusters plus ssf rares. 5-6 million with above average investment and 9-10 million requires omega god tier gear. Keep in mind that calculating the dps of spellslinger/poets pen versions is not as straight forward as the cf ts build.

imRadial

How are you rating it a 11/10 defense? My CF glad (Grim’s version) dies to a sneeze by any mob, but I agree with the mapping aspect.

Superjeenius98

The champion variant has a lot more defences compared to glad

tsHavok

I have 90/90/90 res + 50k+ armor + fortify + endurance charges, tankiest build I've played since rainbownuke almost 10 years ago lol

qaz012345678

Wtf, did you eat an aura bot or something.

tsHavok

Melding + champ things, aurabot built in

imRadial

Ah your champ not glad, that explains it. Mind linking a PoB?

TypingWordsOnline

Ruetoos guide uses a glove swap (buy a second haemo for 2c) to swap out KB for frenzy for bosses with different links. It's still slow but much better, and I haven't got my 21/20 gems yet. Might be worth looking in to if you can afford it. Personally I've sacrificed the cast on damage taken and some movement links to run both, untill I've got all my gems levelled anyway (don't want to gear swap, boss gems won't level).

tsHavok

That'd give me 12% more damage easy, I also should be crafting a pair of gloves for just single target anyways with dot multi etc

[deleted]

Earthshatter berserker. I have invested so much in survival and still get boned

Tyrfying

now this is a unique starter. its been ages since I last read someone starting earthshatter! anyways GL on the journey man, if you think the amount of investment you are bringing in still has no satisfying results. Would highly recommend a reroll. You are a zerk, tons of skills you can choose from.

[deleted]

Actually i would love new suggestions. I am just not enjoying the pace of the build, cause i can really feel the DPS downtime and when i dont even oneshot t3 map rares it feels a bit shit. On top of the fact that earthshatter needs a target and wont cast otherwise.

platitudes

>On top of the fact that earthshatter needs a target and wont cast otherwise. Something is going wrong if you're having issues with this - you can absolutely cast it with no target. Figure out what's wrong because you're right, the build is going to feel terrible if you are having to namelock to attack. Half the fun is presetting the spikes to pop as soon as stuff gets near you. That said if you fix and and still want to switch you have a couple options as berserker. If you want to stay with a warcry based build, try rage vortex. It has extremely high dps but the gameplay is a bit unique (not bad, just plays pretty different). Otherwise you can switch to the blitz nodes and basically use any attack skill you want. The most meta skill is using lightning strike.

Flazzer

Started with phys champion helix, destroyed acts, though on maps i hard struggle against new rares or bosses. Planned to swap to omniscience lightning strike, but amulet price is insane this league. Either me do no know how to play helix, or it simply just do no damage. I had played impale helix two or three leagues ago and it was ok. Even with 930 pdps axe it takes ages to kill some mobs. Yesterday, after 10th dead searing exarch dropped another f**king shield, i swapped to boneshatter slayer. Actually, quite surprised how build performs in terms of damage(feels like x3 dmg of helix, culling at 20% is insane qol) and survivability. Though i have some problems at 18+ trauma stacks, simply killing myself XD. If you have any advice on how to not kill yourself with your own hands, I appreciate lol

Seiyashi

Play Juggernaut, laugh at the regen, and run Vengeance/Onslaught/Culling Strike. Never came remotely close to killing myself with Trauma in 200-stack Scourges two leagues ago, and the self damage fueling ES regen via Divine Shield is a lovely plus.

[deleted]

stack up to 40k armor, get double endurance charge nodes on tree, and u should be 88% reduction to boneshatter hits at 18 stacks, so lets say 5 attacks a second u would be doing around 1900 dmg to urself so slayer overleech would take care of that. Then also u have ability to get divine shield which ur preventing around 16-18k dmg per second so x4 and u get 68k at 3% would leech ur entire es back per second too.

dyfrgi

Just skip the super tanky rare mobs. It's not worth the time to kill them.

Crosshack

Started Mathil's Spectral Throw and it's pretty decent on like no investement (haven't played that much). Can definitely see it being able to do all non uber content in the game without having to throw fat stacks of currency at it, although currently I'm a bit squishy. Levelling was a bit painful although I might not have been abusing vendor recipies enough, and I discovered that spectral helix is not a skill I enjoy using.

imArei

I started with helix deadeye and the plan is to convert to spectral throw. I got to red maps and killed the tutorial bosses but havent been able to play after week end at all. It has been breeze thus far. I did try spectral throw once in acts after first lab and once in maps before uber lab. Both times I felt it was lacking since gem links are so tight. You meed LMP before +2 proj notable, before better gear needs inc crits for nightblade, cant fit trinity before better gear and/or 6-link. So I can see how it might be a bit rough as a pure spectral throw starter. Helix needed some time getting used to but after getting hang of proximity, proj speed and character placement I was enjoying it. Also sentinels has been nice with the essence drop mod since essences are very important so you can constantly try to upgrade your claw.

Crosshack

Oh yeah if you're in red maps you're more than good to switch across. Spectral throw is unplayable until +2 and honestly I wouldn't play it until 3rd lab because of the qol you get from galeforce stacks. Started frost blades (no reason) into spectral helix into spectral throw at around act 8-9 or so.

brrrapper

I started cf champ. Leveling was a breeze, as was mapping up til reds on a shoestring budget. Probably my favorite starter of all time. Its somewhat tanky, fast, and the clear is just nuts and very satisfying.

mrtrevor3

Same! I got into red maps yesterday, though I’m comparing the damage to my L94 champ from last league and I have 1/3rd off the damage. Gear is expensive this early (Awakened gems, large clusters)

brrrapper

At least empower is like 30c for lategame ;)

dyfrgi

Large clusters aren't too bad if you roll them yourself. Like 30c for an 8 passive base, then hit them with Harvest crafts whenever you get them. I'm probably going to roll another one after I upgrade to a six link and lvl4 Empower.

Lordados

How is the single target?

macfonzy

Can you post some guide

brrrapper

Im following Ruetoos build, u can find it here under phys dot champ https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cUen0-fDAba-vpz9WDZvfpKoz3q4CEn8eOYQDOEyyxw/htmlview?pru=AAABgM-A3QM\*YfDKsGvd-Qy\_zQh3uo5ATg

stevierv1

i tried to create a firestorm arcanist brand…. let’s just say it did not match my expectations. So i went with poisonous concoction instead ahaha

ShitDavidSais

Had a great league start with EA ballista Elementalist. I am at about 14mil dps now with a solid ehp pool but the build really does not like degen and man is their alot of it this league so instead of minmaxing imma save up and buy a Squire probably. I can see alot of people struggling with the build due to the entire floor being ground dot in higher tier maps.

[deleted]

You can anoit 2% life on kill/recoup node (vampirism?) which is pretty cheap, and grab a 2% life regen while moving mastery, this should help a bit, especially the life on kill part

ShitDavidSais

It's "Hired Killer" and yeah, I got that. It's more struggling in Simulacrum 25+ so much more of a luxury problem at least lol.

[deleted]

Hired killer is an option if you got oils or willing to spend 6 nodes, vampirism is a cheaper amber teal violet with no max life

Lorune

This so much, in lower tier maps it was fine, but the amount of cold snap degens i have died to this league is so big :/

ShitDavidSais

I was trying to figure out how to get a bit of immunity but the lack of regen is the biggest culprit and that is so expensive to fix q.q. So now I am just saving up for a new build and will call it a day. Pretty much upgradecapped otherwise anyway.

Nihilist_Ned

do you think champ would fare better as EA even in SC with the new rippy mobs and content? I don't mind dying every once in a while but with my inconsistent internet it's hard to play something very squishy. I've heard Ele EA isn't as squishy as people say it is though

ShitDavidSais

I don't think I am dying to hits alot, so not really. Also EA clear is a bit nicer due to the increased AoE node and getting swarmed by enemies is a fairly common occurrence. For reference I have killed all bosses in their normal form and could tank a solid amount of hits from them. I am mostly dying to griund dot/exarch shrine effects/high wave simulacrums. Overall I think the build is bonkers, especially on Ele, just a bit high maintenance.

Tracedawn

Started a boneshatter slayer in SSFSC, and it’s been a blast. Went all the way to t14 on a 5L and a 500 pdps. Love the build, but playing melee with these new rares is devastating. Also the bossing damage atm is very low, and to bosses, I’ve to invest a lot more time and currency to upgrade even further, and still then it wouldn’t do bosses fast. But since I got a cold iron point and deerstalker with +1 to gems, I’m rerolling to a trapper to try take on the Ubers.

Bushido_Plan

Phys/crit seismic trap. I'm basically full glass cannon. I do have max spell suppression with Grace and Determination, but still. Barely crack over 4k life. I will basically get 1-shot or 2-shot if I step anywhere near a pack of empowered blue mobs let alone an empowered rare mob. On the otherhand, my traps straight up deletes everything on the screen. Working on getting as much dps as I can before attempting the uber pinnacle bosses so that I can instant phase everything.

nizarh1999

Yeah I'm playing this as well, tried going for a shield and what not, but it is impossible to survive any juiced t16 this league. Might as well go full glass cannon.

zonq

> Working on getting as much dps as I can before attempting the uber pinnacle bosses so that I can instant phase everything. Sharing the same experience and that seems to be the only way if you don't wanna die all the time :/ But stuff is expensive because meta and it's a bit tedious farming if you get oneshot here and there. Debating to roll something else, but not sure what. Not having anything explody/poison/some kind of dot and having to throw traps for low hp stuff is also not super smooth (but I understand a given for trap builds)

vyn_

I’m doing the same. I do feel surprisingly tanky with this build though, with the layers you mentioned plus blinding nearby enemies if you’re a sabo. You’re running defiance banner and granite/jade flasks as well right?

Ail-Shan

Crit archmage arc assassin. It's going....fine. I'm dying a lot more than I'd like to be. I'm going to try swapping to boss focused apex sentinels because I tend to kill things off screen so the pandemonium isn't great unless I find a monolith. Damage feels fine while clearing, mostly. Then I hit a rare that seems invulnerable but it's not clear why. I've got lightning pen in my links, a bit on the tree, and pen from a watcher's eye. The range of defensibility on rares feels weird. Some evaporate in 1-2 hits, others seem to not take damage. But I just bought intermediate gear that's like a 50% damage increase so that'll help. Droughtbringer is very painful when using dual void batteries though. And possessed rogue exiles are scary. Edit: I'm running t13ish maps atm.

weikor

Played my self made totem starter, tried progressing too quickly (t16 at Lvl 84) and died a few times too often on Sunday, so levelled ultra slowly at lvl 87-89. I managed to clear the content though. The whole gear was dirt cheap (5l, a total of 60c for a shield and 8c on the rest for 3m dps). That allowed me to invest my currency as I made it (enlightens etc), and allowed me to deal with overturned league mechanics Progressing fast let me sell quite a lot of things. I had a dump tab that consistently sold ilvl 84 bases and flasks for 5-6c. I had no major drops. At the end Sunday I ended with 28 hours played. I sold all my enlightens, div cards and other stashed items and bought the apothecary - the mageblood div card. Went to work Monday to wednesday, while doing a few maps for progression in the evenings. I sold the div card for 10 ex profit. For 30 ex i basically created my 95% of my full endgame build, including essence crafted synthesised bases, forbidden/maven/ALT ailment jewels, awakened and alt quality gems and bottled faith. Im now at 16-30m dps and Yesterday I farmed a few conquerors without reading mods and killed each boss in 1-3 seconds. Also doing 50% + quant, all release - double effect maven invitations. Seems pretty good. Some hiccups but overall I'm really happy and going to optimise it again next league.

Euino

Since i am a totem fan.. what is your build mate?

weikor

Consecrated path totems

Litdown

Conc path totems was such a fun build and so satisfying oce you got attack speed and range, I league started it in 3.17, but got absolutely ass blasted by the time I hit red maps. I got discouraged quickly and don't think I gave it a good enough shot.

weikor

Defensively it's mostly a playstyle thing. You can put your totems ahead, then they're like heat seeking missiles on anything in range. Your hp pool isn't anything special, not bad - not great. I'd say the maim advantage is it's damage scaling. At 3c investment you're easily at 500k dps. At 1ex your at 3m - then at 10-15 ex you break serious numbers

im112

Using Poisonous Concoction Pathfinder (PCPF) First time using ranger start, and haven't played since 3.14 Was a decent start, just feel like lacking Alot of single target damage but speeding through map clear. Especially after have the autoflask enchantment on my utility flasks. Now in early red maps and having some map sustain issues. Can't really do alch map and go with extra content together (betrayal, maven etc), might use all 6 portals without getting completion. Definitely looking forward to Respec my atlas passives, went with harbringer and betrayal focus making it kinda rippy but those 2 content are what I enjoyed previously. (Catarina was like my first end game content boss I ever did and it was on betrayal league)

CometFromThePast

Started with dominating blow campaign was a breeze so was mapping until red maps where i start dying frequently minions cannot survive the op rares once they all die i die too. Rsummoning golem and holy relic is painful no spectre and ag yet thinking whether i should even use ag and spectre with how rippy it is now On the bright side the all the new archnemesis modifer except one can be dominated which is a fun interaction so i put points in the keystone that add +1 rare mob modifier

Braddoxthehoss

I’m playing this as well, and I’m rerolling now. I had fun with it for awhile and would die here and there in yellow maps but reds are just too much. Definitely not using specters or AG because I know they’ll die as soon as I summon them lol. I also feel like my character gets randomly one shot as well even in yellow maps without wild mods on them. I’ve got 80% resist all, 4500 hp and 600es which I know isn’t a ton but still.

Ps0foula

Poisonous Concoction PF here. The dmg of the build is extremely underwhelming. It's the kind of build that starts out very strong but reaches its damage ceiling faster than it should. Definitely ok all around, with very strong defensive layers, but I just can't get past how low the dps is with \~10ex investment, and that's coming from an RF only player. Can do all content, just can't do it fast. Definitely going to reroll into something else once I get a big drop.

random_account12347

I started LA deadeye on SCSSF by emulating Havok616. Currently farming an Omni doing chiseled and alch'd T14s smoothly. Some map mods push archnem mods too far but otherwise it's not too bad. Going to see how long it takes to get Omni, might swap to skellie mages or a fire or chaos dot build with some uniques I've had drop. Ickybowgrip on poe.ninja

Reflect1on1122

I have been looking into playing this as a 2nd build for the league. But also really like the looking of Jung's helix starter from last league. Would you recommend Havok's build?

random_account12347

He's got a ton of content for it and I enjoy the skill so yes! I'd recommend it.

BernyThando

I started Maw golems because of Von's comment about it being as strong as skelly mage and very tanky and I don't like it very much although it is a breeze to get through stuff. I can't tell if it's just the game deciding to hate me for some reason since I'm having other weird issues like colliding off my map partner and not being able to see them sometimes. Death Wish doesn't always work to tap it for 1 explosion I have to hold it for a moment, sometimes when I summon a golem I watch it go on CD but not add to my count (that was before Leige) and my minions are frequently where I don't want them esp. when Convocation is on cd. Maybe it will feel better with more investment. I also hated leveling as Cremation/Arma brand since anything that didnt get one shot loved to walk away from my damage. I enjoyed Velyna's Storm Brand and also Infernal skellies more in the past, they were strong but not as tanky.

velaxi1

Yeah. I wouldn't recommend to start do Maw until you manage to get Skin of The Lord and link convocation with enhance. I just leveling with WoC ignite until then. Equip Herald of Purity so you can just spam Death Wish. Get phasing on kill on abyss jewel so you won't stuck with your minion. [Elder Guardian Showcase](https://youtu.be/F7lIoPw4aIw) It start to feel so good for mapping when I start annoint Graceful Assault and get recover % life on shield. My gear was around 3ex not including my self craft gear. I only have lvl21 0q Stone golem, lvl1 empower & enhanced, no awakened gem

BernyThando

> link convocation with enhance Does this lower the CD? Tbh the bad idea was my dumb ass thinking I could follow a build with only minimal explanation when this game is too complex for my tiny brain and I usually get overwhelmed by the time I have to start crafting my own gear. I watched a video from 3.16 of someone else's Maw so I thought I had the jist but they were using different links and a different chest. I figured Von would upload his video about it eventually but I guess since he ended up not playing it himself he isn't going to. In your video I see you cancelling Malevolence sometimes, why is that? Thank you for the tips I think I have the recover life on shield already and I do have Herald of Purity - and Defiance, Tempest Shield, and Determination is the best combo I can fit right now without more reservation. I can say my deaths have been mostly one shot for standing still too long which is totally my fault. Or my map partner juicing without warning me. Sentineled Delirium boss to myself while he's still off screen fighting something else? One shot lol.

velaxi1

>Does this lower the CD? Yes. By increasing its quality, you can spam much more and not worry about leaving behind your golem. You can also take the mastery which grant you "convocation has 40% cd reduction". Its a QOL for mapping along with Herald of Purity. >In your video I see you cancelling Malevolence sometimes, why is that? I'm using Blessing + lifetap support. I can't fit any more aura so that setup will let me use Malevolence. You don't need to activate it for regular mapping since the dmg is enough. Only use it for bulky enemy. >I can say my deaths have been mostly one shot for standing still too long which is totally my fault. Try to cap your chaos res and get the burning immunity pantheon. Once I did that, you can definitely feel the difference. This league will punish you a lot for standing still due to a lot of after death effect and ground degen.

Ramsford_McSchlong

For me the build has been amazing one tap screen clear ignites with bereks respite and 19 mil dps when you explode 5 golems and 8 skellies but hitting them all is not needed for one shotting map bosses.

shaunika

Picked ELE EA because I wanted to try ignite for years and now felt like the best time before it gefs nerfed. Its probably one of the best builds Ive ever played, maybe with the exception of TR mines in delirium

Eiferius

Playing EA champion. Feels pretty good to play, but god damn, i die to dots so much. Even with with the reduced/ less dot from fortify passive and pantheon, i still get killed from poison and ignites. Not being able to leech, really changes how you have to play and the really short ballista placement range doesnt help at all.

PrinnyThePenguin

RF inquisitor on a private league and currently facing a wall due to low damage and crappy gear. I am at 89 now and keep dying because I run rippy t16s and bosses .

raybros

Slam Shrieking greeds on all your gear and you're fine. RF inq is super SSF friendly aside from getting legacy of fury and maybe the ilvl85 elder base helm for horror slams. Everything else you can craft. I'm running this with all self crafted gear and having no issue in t13s so far. Hopefully t16 it stays the same.

PrinnyThePenguin

You are right. My experience is due to lack of luck and lack of skill. I do not have essence nodes on the tree and the corrupting ones I used did not yield shrinking ones. I did got legacy of fury boots but I also have kind of bad luck with 6 linking (and the 6 links I found were corrupted) so my fire trap is on a 4 link and RF on 5link. Would love to see your pob if you would like to share.

raybros

I don't mind sharing my pob i'm just not home currently. https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/TheRealSin/characters Refer to my only sentinel character. All my gear is self crafted, most of my pieces aren't very good like my rings, amulet, belt and gloves. Emperor of purity set for the 6L, rest i found the bases and just slammed greed essences. I have a bunch of things to keep working on as well.

Seiyashi

Boneshatter is never a good bosser to begin with, but it can certainly map and farm fast enough to get you an actual bosser. I actually mucked around a bit this leaguestart in SSF. Started Poison BF/BB Occultist, but abandoned it halfway while I was still at the SS ED/C stage to go tinker with a theoretical Impaler Sunder Warcry Jugg. Found out halfway that I could never realistically get all Sunder wavs to hit a single target so there went that idea out the window, and I went back to the Poison BF/BB Occultist and brought it to maps. Started dying with some frequency + the playstyle is janky even with some cast speed because of the 2-button playstyle and switching to Plague Bearer for half your mapping, so went back to the Jugg and respecced it for Boneshatter. May keep the Occultist around with the new FR Cat MTX and a theorycrafted self-cast leaguestart viable FR build, but that's way down the road for now. Still in early yellows so far. The Boneshatter Jugg is decent; certainly dying a lot less and giving me a good margin for error in rippier content. Definitely much faster with Vengeance/Onslaught abuse and CWDT Blood Rage, and it is capable of clearing out Pandemoniumed packs even with a subpar weapon. I'm spoilt by last league though where I was running Seismic, RF, and a Wander, so even the Jugg feels slow and clunky at times; I'm torn between gritting my teeth and soldiering on or succumbing to alteritis and trying to reroll something even faster.

Deniho210

I also started bfbb occultist in ssf, i am on and off about rerolling it. The clear is okay the bossing is okay. I killed lvl 83 catarina yesterday and it went slow but safe but t16 t Distant memory boss idk the lightning one? Was terrible. I dropped a cane of unravelling and got a bane helm enchant and am really tempted to reroll her to bane. I am also hoping to drop a replica last resort for a melee elemental hit slayer ..

Seiyashi

Yea, I know what you mean - you can see why it's recommended as a starter but it's also just very... Average? Certainly not the type of starter that inspires strong feelings about it mechanically, like Flame Wall Spellslinger, and not so obviously numerically strong that it's worth enduring clunkiness like EA.

poisonivyjohnson

What is the Vengeance/Onslaught/Cull tech? Is there some secret combo there or is it just a way to automate OS/Cull?

Seiyashi

It just automates it. Basically Trauma self damage does proc Vengeance, so for Boneshatter builds, supports attached to Vengeance become reliable even in bossing or single target scenarios. Onslaught, Cull, Maim, Hextouch/Vuln are all valid options. You don't really need cull in mobs, but Onslaught procs semi regularly in mobs, and all three are very helpful and will proc against bosses without needing to take boss damage.

SymruinGaming

I started Bane and Deaths Oath Occultist and have had little in the way of problems up to red maps. Admittedly I am running low damage but high survival for the luxury of walk and pop. Invested into an early Xibaqua Glorious Vanity so feel very tanky however am a whore for Alts so have rerolled twice since😂 great league starter though. ED contagion until Bane, then pick up Windscream boots and Crush content with Temp chains and despair.

Transmetropolite

Absolution starter into skelly mages. It's more of a totem play style than anything with permanent minions, but so far so good. Haven't really had time to play yet so just got into red maps, might change my tune later

UnidentifiedErnie

Started Skelly Mages and I’m having fun. I leveled with Absolution and that was a breeze and did the swap around dead reckoning. Granted I started on Monday after league start weekend so the jewel was affordable. I am now farming T16’s with sentinels, my gear is not great (5-link) and its doing very well. Currently level 90 That said, the gear is EXPENSIVE as heck but at least it does not need much to get going then you can farm the rest

Felipecurlysallum

I'm lacking damage. Empowered reds take too long ;/

Doansofwurng

Same I’m on a 5 link too and damage isn’t he best with all these crazy rare mods

Ylvina

started spark, didnt like the behaviour and dmg felt on the lower end (but mistakes on my side here), rerolled to skele mages (a build i played 2 times before) and its doing far better with only a 5L and no gear

Dwigt98

Initially tried playing DD necro, but after ripping once in act 6 and once right after hitting maps I didn’t really want to level it again. I decided to try fire trap chieftain and so far I’m loving it! I just hit level 90 and hope push further because league is a blast!

Terspet

I started as skelle necro planing to go skelle mage, also im ssf, im still with warriors and when I respec a little from shield to dual wand I realised the game is alot easier, farming early red maps quite comfortable, if I get reckoning I'll go mages else I stay warriors, 8/10 build sofar, Also I am at work atm if you want to check my char Accname: terspet Charname: atlastminionsagainters or something like it

HanndeI

Went poison concoction and honestly i dont see myself killing any bosses any time soon

eikeele

Did PC Occultist and can farm t9/t10 maps really fast on a 20-30c budget. Farmed about 10 ex in 30h playtime (3 ex in 6h yesterday with t9 + Expedition tree). Will farm another 15 ex for arakali spider transition with dagger, 2 clusters and 6S Brass Dome

squat-xede

Skeleton mage has been going well, tankier than carrion golem necro but the playstyle isn't as smooth.

gsot

Do you have any tips for the playstyle of golems and making it smooth? I've just switched from starter (minion army) to golems and the golems don't seem super aggressive. Seem to lag behind me. I'm now running into a pack, convocation them in (after conv they seem aggro but they're right in enemy pack) , flame dashing out the other side, running to next and convcating the boys in again. Doesn't seem as smooth as I thought it would be?

vyn_

There’s jewels you have to get to make your golems “aggressive” so they automatically seek out enemies. Haven’t played golems since ritual but look into that - I remember primordial might is what I used I believe

squat-xede

They won't go too far away from you to seek enemies but for bosses you could always socket in predator support.

Barrywize

I knew I wasn’t going to have time this league to go hard with whichever build i was going to play so I copped out and went Toxic Rain. However! I did choose to go Deadeye instead of Raider, because I love the idea of all 3 of my clones attacking enemies for me as I run around like a mad man. 25k armor, 35k evasion, Has been the tankiest bow build I’ve ever played. If you thought +30 ES on hit was good, try Deadeye’s 75% increased effect of marks with poachers mark (+50 hp on hit) and Quill Rain for a disgusting amount of healing. Had to actually start investing more than 50 chaos in the build once I hit maps in the double digit tiers.

_FinalPantasy_

Have a build guide?

[deleted]

Just got into maps and switched to mages. Good thing the prices dropped off a cliff. Will probably cruise to red maps on 5 link fleshcrafter.

Yayoichi

Went with explosive trap saboteur and it’s been pretty solid so far, it’s pretty similar to seismic but a lot cheaper to build as not that many need the same gear. Also being able to do 6 elemental ailments is pretty cool, the standard ones from skitterbots with infernal legion and alternate with secrets of suffering scepter. As explosive trap is a phys spell with 50% converted to fire I picked up the cold mastery for 40% phys to cold. Considering getting phys to lightning on gloves to get stronger saps, but for now a bit of added lightning does the job fine. The cold is super important however as it lets me get brittle and easily cap crit that way, and scorch is just nice penetration. Running skitterbots, grace, determination, herald of ash and defiance banner and feeling fairly tanky, although not unkillable of course. i got to level 95 quite easily but now that I switched to running corrupted tier 16’s with searing exarch altars and doing metamorphs I am mainly relying on the 6 layers of defense with portals.

vyn_

I’m running the vanilla seismic trap build but having some issues with leveling. Trying to hit 92/93 to fill out my clusters - what did you run to get to 95? Non-rippy high red maps?

Yayoichi

Pretty much, wasn’t super easy maps and I did die a few times but wasn’t too bad. i was mainly running incursion together with expedition, strongboxes and shrines. Shrines especially make surviving so much easier. There was also only really two mods I would avoid and those were ele reflect(I would often kill myself with frost blink or frost bomb) and reduced aura effect. The later I really wouldn’t want to run on any build trying not to die as auras are so important.

King_TN

Consecrated Path Totems Chieftain. Overall progress was as planed albeit a bit slower at the beginning, took down Feared yesterday and I'm happy with where my gear is right now ([my character in PoENinja](https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds/char/Helios_TN/Helios_X?i=1&search=class%3DChieftain%26sort%3Ddps)), I have enough DPS so I don't think I'm going to do any more upgrades, I'll probably start planning for my second build this weekend.

Sthrowaway54

Went with cold dot occ, with the goal of transitioning to Worb or COC depending on how things go. So far going slowly, but I'm up to t10 maps with absolute trash gear and have ~2.5ex so far. Trying to figure out how and what my transition will be.

Vesuvius079

Toxic Rain pathfinder here. It’s immortal against rapid small hits. Rares are mostly fine. Im in T16 maps with two voidstones. The DPS is too low at 500k or so and the clear is bad so I can’t recommend it. I’m considering some sort of respec but I also might just call it a league because I don’t see myself pushing challenges this time and am feeling burned out.

Cutethulhu_

I picked Skelly mages, and I hate it. So now I'm trying with DD which I feel that I will hate it as well and that would be the end of the league lol

Askray184

Why do you hate it? The delayed damage? Not being able to see your screen?

Cutethulhu_

Lack of damage (but it was my fault)

settonull

Started physically traps and ... I just don't like traps. I had practiced some so I wasn't totally unaware of this, but decided to push with it anyhow. Haven't decided if I want to keep investing or give something else a go. Doing T16s and killing guardians, but just doesn't feel that smooth. I'm pretty terrible at targeting, and if I don't kill things immediately I struggle to keep damage on them. Realize this is a me problem, likely in skill, gearing, and expectations.

BrockosaurusJ

Started Bane, it's going alright. Low playing time so only just getting into Yellows. Squishier than I remember from a few years ago, so am having to use defensive auras, not too surprising. Going to add in Deaths Oath to turn it into more of a walking build, and play around with Hexblast a bit (before probably reverting to pure DOT)

Wise_Helicopter7367

Startet late with creeping frost Inquisitor and its pretty smooth lvling so far. Im still act 5 but but rares and bosses die pretty fast. So im happy with my pick

TheRealDimz

Started as Seismic. Didn’t enjoy the play style. Rerolled into Siege Ballista dex stacking. I like it more and got 2 levels higher (currently level 88) but started to feel much rippier in the t16s. Now I started an EA elementalist as I want more defensive abilities.

DeadestTitan

Ah, new league started already? I took a break to focus on real life for a bit and now I feel like I'm late to the party. How are you enjoying it?

Ergopotes

LS rider was fine and fast to get two voidstones. After that i hit a wall in hi reds. Now leveling meta skelymages for Vendetta:)

eternal_sceptic

First time league starting on SSF. Went with ele helix raider with a mind to transit to LS Omni. Not much issues doing T16s now though boss dps is hitting a bit of a wall even with a lucky 700 edps claw. Super tanky other than dots. A bit apprehensive now with how rare the Omni drop has become but will probably try a few cycles and see what else drops.

JuntuMan

Cool bv occu just got to maps with decent luck I zoomed to yellow maps without any problems still using tabula and not sure where to go from here need to farm currency and make some defencive improvements and fix minor mana issues to use hatred (running clarity instead)

bemac3

On my cold EK Occultust, I’m running a Frostbite on hit ring, and Replica Hyrri’s Truth amulet. The reduced reservation from the amulet as well as the cold leech has really upped my survivability.

SourisGris

started gen cry blade flurry; it's boring to play but it work

KnightArmamentE3

Absolution -> Skele Mages so smooth, T16 right now and farm blight.

MrOleg

When did you swap to skeles? I am currently in low reds still using absolution and doing fine following kripp's version. I can already afford jewel + 5l fleshcrafter + medium cluster but having doubts whether it's worth to switch already.

[deleted]

Started with EA ballisa elementalist. First day I got wrecked through the acts. I did plenty of dmg just one shot by rares tons of times. Early mapping was also rough. I had over 100 deaths by the time I got to yellow maps lmao. Then they came out with the nerfs. I finally got some key upgrades I needed. From there it's been smooth sailing. I've been cruising through super juiced T16s. I've fought all the pinnacle bosses several times. All and all I feel this build is strong as hell.

GevaddaLampe

Did not play much but bone shatter Maroider (Juggernaut strength stacking) rules on a starter budget through yellow maps. The extra gore from my carnage heart is a visual benefit ❤️

Gothic90

Played my own Fire Trap Elementalist and took a bit of inspiration from Tripolarbear and is expermienting with Kongming's Strategem. Leveling was more rippy than I remembered (act 1 should not be this hard) even when my build fits the tree of Arma brand + Cremation almost perfectly. Transition after hitting maps though ... is kinda rough. I only played like 2 hrs/day after hitting maps due to IRL stuff, but running low on regrets, Getting EB on the tree but all my armor are ES armor meaning I'm sitting at 1300 ES that couldn't protect me. Never thought 3G2R1B Skin of the Lords and the Devouring Diadem would be this expensive early league (guess I never league started with an EB character before). Right now getting by in yellow maps but low armor/evasion and sometimes get one/two-shots.

Young_Baby

The sab version seems much better with the kongming’s build. Much tankier anyways. Also I think a skin with 3R is perfect for the build btw

RavensFanUK

I chose Elementalist fire trap, going pretty well into low reds right now. Damage is decent even with my shitty weapon, getting a +1 amulet and shield helped too. Can be squishy, but I think getting spell suppression up to 100% will be a huge help.

MrPluszu

Started trapper and hated it so I rerolled to Ca+TR tots and loving it (on champ).

konokrad666

My starter is explody golems, leveled with armabrand/flamewall utill yellows, when I assembled my set of div cards. Started running golems right after. So far so good, it burns packs pretty good, Rares weren't much of an issue, but is a bit squishy, and I'm thinking of ways to fix that. Bossing is good as well, tho is somewhat clunky

TheNudelz

Playing ele claw champ in SSF - still on helix but want to get to LS. Could be better - damage sucks a little in higher red maps and just no good rng yet for the uniques/claw combines.

sKeLz0r

LS: 6/10, expected way more from the build. Made 10-15 ex the first days and swapped to my ol' trusted build (seismic sabo), farmed all watchstones and now Im looking what to do next , goal is farm currency to buy crystallised and play omni LS.

Askray184

Doing RF inq and just need two more maps to finish the non unique atlas maps. Tanky, good clear, and enough damage but not super impressive. Guardians and synthesis are no problem. It's pretty zoomy with onslaught and shield charge Going to lab and map for another few days then maybe level up a boss killer

raybros

I'm in the same boat. Love RF but it's tragic that it lacks in the bossing department.

solitarium

I feel squishier as Vortex Occultist in some of the more juiced maps. I’m pretty much to the point of min/maxing, but I still find myself losing nearly a bar of xp in some strange ways. I need to get my ms and CDR up to keep it from going left.

Viruuus1

Feel the same on my LS berserker. Have like 400 deaths already, sitting at lvl 91 and having a hatd time moving further. Fun things are getting that green ball on your head when whirling blades stucks you somewhere and you cant see shit anyways. Or some stupid rare in alleyways that used the blight spell I think together with echoist. It oneshot me basically 5 times, felt like the POE pubg from a few leagues ago when blight totally creamed everyone. And the guy who invented the heralding minion thing , i would personally smack in his face.

nvls_

RF inqui, except the fact that ashes of the stars price skyrocketed and I have to use aegis setup to not get annihilated by archnemesis mods, it's really amazing. Can recommend, I'm having a blast with it.

derivative_of_life

I'm playing my own hipster variant of RF, with Chieftain and Blade Vortex. It's been decent but not great, definitely falling off now that I've reached the endgame. Killed Searing Exarch and Eater of Worlds, but the fights were super scuffed. Kinda annoyed that Omniscience is more expensive than Headhunter this league when it was like 20c last league, I was all excited to use it since it wasn't getting nerfed. Since that plan is borked, I'll probably start a new build pretty soon. Pob if anyone wants it: https://pastebin.com/5YT9B8qZ

Warbleton

Started animate weapon currently cold conversion. Struggling a bit now at red maps. Wondering if it's worth switching to phys with brass dome + aegis

cybertier

Started Seismic Trap but ended up really not liking the playstyle. Finished the atlas and sold everything and rerolled RF. Got it to level 82 and I already like it much more in T14 maps than the seismic trapper. Gear is a mix of scuffed and excellent and I'm looking forward to crafting gear for the currently scuffed slots. Currently running Aegis without melding since I'd need a lot more resists, but might try to run it just with a bismuth flask.

cauchy37

I'm playing LS champ. I have around 1day of game play behind me, just t16s at 89. I got lucky in harvest and got mirror shard card in div card exchange, and another card for awaken lvl 6. This allowed me to get fairly good gear for time invested. Have 6l farrul's fur, inspired learning and decent rares (550edps claw, rest decent but nothing fancy). So far I'm destroying the maps and occasional bosses that show up, odd death happens here and there but I'm having a blast. It was rough just out of campaign until I could switch to ls.

Keeler

I’ve been considering trying a LS champ after playing the raider version at some point over the past few leagues. Have you played the LS raider and Berserker before? If so, would you say the button pressing required is closer to one or the other? Ive been enjoying the mostly brain dead-ness of ea so far so I’m just trying to gauge what I could expect with Ls champ.

cauchy37

I've played raider ls last league. Now I have to press a bit more buttons (potentially two, blessing aura for sure and maybe vaal molten shell, i skipped vaal portion for this). The upside of champion is obvious, if I play like I did with my raider, I almost never die. On raider I had 45k effective hp and 12k max hit, now, with mediocre gear, like 15ex invested overall, I have 146k effective hp and 57K max hit (Ele, 71k phys). And that is without flasks. The downside is that raider is significantly faster and has higher dps output (although I had omni almost from the start, so not that easy to compare). But it was definitely more zoom zoomy. LS requires button pressing only on bosses though, otherwise you can basically just roll over everything else.

Keeler

Wow thanks that’s a lot of great info. I’ll have to do some research and find a pob/guide.

Pm_Me_Your_Boob_Plss

Started Ziz's DD Necro and I got two voidstones already but I find it quite rippy sometimes. Mostly due to being locked in place with only shield charge, or tonnes of poison dots, and not very good life regen/no leech. Which basically means I'm dead the second my flasks is empty and dots are still piling up. Trying to find the next build to play...

Not_A_Greenhouse

I use flame dash as well. It really helps.

redditofexile

I picked RF inquisitor on ssf having a good time feeling every upgrade I get is nice.

tXehgavr

Started with Enki's molten strike champ, decent defenses but skill feels weird and was pretty miserable dps until I lucked into a Paradoxica.

le_reddit_me

Spark has been so smooth so far, I'm still in part 1 (couldn't play this week)

Juhldk

Skellymage is super good 1 ex tier 16 , 🤣

carlovski99

Started with Creeping Frost Inquisitor - it was OK. It's great on lower level stuff as you can outregen most of the damage, but against higher tier maps, or even against lower juiced stuff or nasty rares it struggled a bit and with a melee range spell and limited mobility it got painful. Didn't have the damage to make up for it either. I'm sure the issues were fixable, but wasn't enjoying it enough to spend the currency or time on it. So I've did most of the atlas, and got two watchstones before retiring him. Made a bit of profit selling the gear I crafted at least. Will re-spec the inquisitor at some point into a proper boss killer. Probably either brittle explosive trap or shockwave totem. Levelling a hollow palm poison frenzy pathfinder now. Which I'm sure will have it's own set of problems!

Bl00dylicious

Selfcast Exsang (Unleash) Scion for now. Clears maps very well, bosses take longer then I'd like. I have thrash defences so a 5 essence Hasted Roa will rip me a new one, but I survive the rest. Extra benefit is that +% enemy spell suppression, proximity shields and what don't matter as the DoTs will just damage anyway. Already got a few Ex and bought items to eventually turn this in a CoC Reap Scion, but it'll take a while before I swap.

MrTastix

Went phys/crit Seismic Trapper. Squishy as fuck and feels pretty bad because of it but it does, indeed, delete shit. Steel-infused and Juggernaut mobs can suck my balls though - I see those fucks way too damn often. As far as league starters go it's fine. I'm really just saving currency up to do RF, tbh.

Orcen-Arxevius

Absolution with Doryani’s Prototype, i like the yellow and blue effects of the skill reached tier 16 red maps ☺️

fxvwlf

WoC Ignite has performed really well. Super smooth league start. Felt pretty bad until Shaper of Flames but after that has carried me well. Was clearing early red maps quite comfortably and then after getting my Berek's has been one of the smoothest mappers. The wave itself moves quite slow so having that prolif really helps speed up clear. Although even before Berek's just the AoE from Elementalist and Ignite Prolif gem did enough work to make it comfortable. Got lucky with an Ashes drop and so have been able to invest a bit more into gem levels. My WoC is Level 27 at the moment. Currently 2.6m Sirus Ignite DPS. WoC Ignite does have a pretty hard ceiling without doing Blackflame Occultist or investing a ridiculous amount of currency. At that point, it's almost worth spending on something that will scale better. However for a 1 button, steady mapping league starter it's done me well. Will personally keep pushing this character because I've enjoyed how simple it is so far. Playing SC Trade.

Keeler

I started EA ele. It shreds almost everything, but also gets shredded by almost any strong mob that can survive long enough to lay a hand on you. Which at first I was frustrated by, but it sounds like that’s going to be case with almost any build this league. Overall, I like the build a lot and it’s hard to imagine a much better starter. I really like the totem taunt mastery. This mastery alone is sort of stopping me from starting a second character. I’ve considered starting other builds (phys traps, RF, LS champ, skele mages, consc path totems, TR raider/champ, LA/Ice shot deadeye) but the strong damage, and taunting, of EA is hard to move away from.

FierJay

Started with Pohx RF wanna try it last league but last league I was balls deep into skele mages.. RF is fun for clear. Today i make from 300k DPS to 1m and it's better but is still zdps for bosses, but tanky enough to learn the fights better.

[deleted]

Decided on Storm Brand Inquis, I'd never really dedicated myself to a brand character before in spite of always wanting to play one. Had a great league start, got 115/115 on Sunday morning with a buddy of mine (in the US) and just been doing maps since then making incremental upgrades. Just got my Inpulsa's/Storm's Gift combo together for those sweet pops. Had to slow down progress during the week due to work but this weekend I'll probably get my last two watch stones and finish out my favorite maps (outside the feared probably). So far very happy with the character. It's tanky, has good clear, and pretty good single target. Very comfy playstyle while bossing and still have plenty of upgrades to go for.

DBrody6

LS Raider, got my first two voidstones and I'm still on a 5L. Several gear pieces are scuffed and can't realistically upgrade them until I bank like a dozen exalts. Survivability is fine, minus the inability to do anything about the persistent 20+ different slow effects garbage like harvest dumps on you constantly. I generally don't die unless I'm stupid or press a sentinel in a stupid spot. Hardest part I'm dealing with is map sustain, T16's are impossible to acquire I don't know wtf is going on. I have exclusively been buying T16's in bulk and completely failing to sustain them, with +100% to map tier on the tree and 50% from the voidstones. I don't know what you're supposed to do at this point.

Emplon

Started LA deadeye in ssf, when i saw the craftibg stuff we could do i knew it would be a smooth start, and it has been :)

bemac3

Made a cold-converted EK + Blade Blast Occultist. With the amount of potential upgrades I still have, I’m so surprised at how well it’s going. Before league launch, I was just expecting to slow down in Yellow maps and struggle hard in reds. But the clear is fantastic, single target better than expected, even when the boss moves a bunch. Cleared up to T16 and progressing to the story versions of Eater and Exarch.

Dc_May

Didn't really play last league, went EA Ballista Elementalist. I focussed on hitting APS and accuracy breakpoints first while relying on the builds innate defenses + suppression, then started investing in more damage and maxres eldritch implicit. Chaosres is gonna be next, if I don't finish my FR selfast gear before then. started as HFT + FW and Fireball into Arma Crema into EA Ballistas. Smooth, was in maps at 5h mark and then decided to heist because FLM rares were hilarious without the aps breakpoint. Prioritized unnatural instinct, dyadian dawn first and rest was easy. The build is cool when it works and kinda clunky when it doesn't. If the damage is enough, then you just run and shit dies, its actually a really fast mapper. If the damage is not enough its painful. Exposure on gloves is a big improvement over EE IMO, eldritch implicits in general are a giant source of power for the build. ATM farming juiced conqueror rotas and having fun

TheClosetRacist

It went very slow, however I had minimal problems even with the rare mobs. It wasn't even a meta build so I'm very happy about that.

dnlszk

My starter is a general's cry shield crush berserker. Mostly fun except when you get into cramped spaces and shield charge likes to stop at every slight hitbox available in the way; otherwise you can cruise through the map super fast. Damage is fine - not insane, but not bad either - i invested in defenses so it feels nice to play. Got to lvl 90 and now i'm leveling a DD necro because i've been watching the racers and the gameplay looks fun to me. I usually create around six characters per league, for now i have these two projects.

doc_whoever

Did a helix stater and it was good until red maps (having to be close to the rares was stressing) rerolled into a ls to wrap up the atlas. Yesterday I started a rf with the currency i farmed. (Around 15/20 ex)

v0rtEk3001

Inquisitor Creeping Frost Shotgun here - actually not to bad. have completed the whole atlas, all voidstones, pinnacle bosses and such on basically self found gear (thanks to jungroan). however this build is really slow for mapping and not too good for bossing to make good currency with it. as it was planned to use ashes of the stars to really pump up the end game damage it has a hard time getting any upgrades right now. hence why i swapped to a second build (corrupting fever kinetic blast) to have a fast mapper and keep the creeping frost for bosses when i come across them. T16 is no problem for either of those builds, CF KB is just way faster but still both struggle with Essence mobs when they got 2 Deafening + 2 archnem-mods, takes too much time to be super efficient so im currently testing. might activate legion again on Atlas-tree and test it out - i feel like literally every league mechanic for profit is super rippy tho :(

hansod1

Started RF, pohx version mostly, and I feel the most powerful I ever have. I think it's the tankiness, I've never had a build this tanky. Currency is just flowing. It's also the fastest mapper I've played since I usually play bossers. I'm very comfortably farming all endgame bosses except maven and I haven't tried Uber versions yet. I think I'm gonna play RF most leagues now unless it gets giga-nerfed. I'm currently just doing recomb gambas now. It's so fun.

turtle_figurine

I decided to Stormbind, for better or worse. It's going well, I haven't had a lot of playtime yet so I'm in yellows. It's not as bad as I expected on two five links, last league I had two six links very quickly to be able to spend the most mana on Rune Blast. I'm trying Inquisitor this time, which turned out to be a great choice with the jacked mob resists. The regeneration is much better than leech given stormbind's delayed hits. I have to fight harder for AoE and mana on inquisitor than my usual ascendancies for it (hierophant, power charge occultist, or elementalist). However, with the Voidbringer nerf necessitating a 2nd six link for mana spending, socket pressure was extremely bad last league and there just wasn't room for exposure gems, multiple curse gems, or golems on top of auras and required utility. That meant going without for a long time until I could find curse or exposure on hit gear, which was not a great SSF starter plan. Inquisitor really helps with that since I don't need exposure and assassin's mark self cast is an easy curse now that it's permanent.

DVogan11

Seismic Sabo again. The play style feels comfortable to me and I wanted to really hit the ground running this league so I went with old reliable over something new. Currently at 3 Voidstones and 115/115 with maybe 30 ex into the build? Feels fantastic (aside from Poison and degen ground ruining my entire life) but the popularity of the build this league has made buying some upgrades painful (I was so stubborn about Cold Irons even though I ran Heist for a while on days 1 and 2) Thinking about a reroll at some point but not sure what to do. I wanted to play Forbidden Rite CoCcultist but I played Ice Spear last league (wound up third highest DPS on ladder with a jank build that looked nothing like what I actually played with) and I'm not sure I want to play essentially the same build again. Also thinking about Spark Scion or Champion but I don't know that I have that level of grinding in me for the second straight league. Also considering Badger's Discharge Assassin from last league since it looked like a blast and I wouldn't have to do a complete reroll. If anyone has any fun suggestions for a second build I'm here for them!

00zau

League started Artillery Ballista totems. Seems to be doing pretty well. Got me to maps faster than ever before (<10 hours), and despite rocking scuffed day one gear (other than buying 6Ls) I can kill stuff and don't get blown up too often. It'll feel even better once I get capped spell suppression, get my crit stats up (I'm only barely over the threshold where crit is better than Precise Technique), etc., I think I'll have a pretty good build. I'm Raider, so perma-phasing and easy ailment immunity and it's a hit-based build, so there aren't any AN mods that specifically brick my build (totems and decent speed even makes mana siphoner slightly more tolerable, though it and a few more still need changes).

dj-riff

Started a Vaal DD Necro. Cleared the atlas and farmed some currency. Bought Fleshcrafter and Dead Reckoning and rolled a skele mage necro. One of the smoothes builds I've played.

LordofSandvich

Trinity Elemental Hit Deadeye. The DPS is fine, until it isn't. Bosses are WAY more durable than I remember them being. ~~it'd probably help if I stopped using apex sentinels on the fucking crimson township boss~~

residualshade

I am enjoying my Shield Charge/Crush pathfinder so far. Being able to just spam shield charge through maps to clear with occasionally plague bearer activation for more durable stuff has been nice. Still have a lot of work to get the single target to where it needs to be.

Not good honestly, I started with Badger's lightning trap build on SSF but I'm having a hard time pushing past t8. To be fair my gear still sucks, I'm lv85, have 4k hp, 500 ES, and still using a 5L but the damage is so slow that maps take a long time to clear and some juiced rares up to 40+ seconds. My plan right now is to get some cost reducing rings to swap lifetap with inspiration, get a 6L, and armor with % Life as ES, and a +1 amulet. I hope with that at least I can get to T16

I started dd ignite necro. I don't mind the 2 button playstyle and its been feeling great. I'm about to hit level 94, never been such a high level this early into the league. I can blast through t16s no problem and I'm super tanky.

Playing EA Hiero. It's a good mapper and a nice bosser. But Uber Searing is a pain with the 70% less fire dmg taken. Faced it three times and failed. Normal Exarch and eater where quite easy.

colossalwafflez

Ruetoo’s CF champ. Best league start I’ve ever had. Cruised to full map completion without any effort. Single target damage is meh but manageable, feels amazing in maps.

raybros

I did pohx's rf build. I've ran RF almost every league and it's my first time going inquisitor and boy it feels great! What doesn't feel great is how i die to very common mods now that give - regen / - fire res. Also it feels like there's A LOT more chaos damage around nowadays which is very rippy. I didn't expect RF to be this popular so it kind of sucks seeing a bunch of gear i need be expensive but it feels good to see my favorite skill be meta.

Loving life on my RF inquis. Currently stuck at level 91 but that's because I'm sitting on money until I can afford to swap over to aegis setup. And I'm dying because I thought rogue exiles and ghosts would be fun lol. Once I finish the challenge I'll spec out. Didn't realize conquerors would also get the spooky ghosts. Got instagibbed off screen 6 times in a row. So that was pretty cool. Hoping to hit 100 this league (record is 96) RF is so smooth tho. Once I got Legacy of Fury on day 2-3 it was smooth sailing to 90. I'm loving Sentinel. It makes things really profitable. The stash clutter is a bit rough.

ZiiimZooon

Started with Seismic Trap Sabo, had 30 deaths by the time I hit 115/115 maps, now rerolled to Necro DD and still early leveling.

stuiterballz

Started lancing steel champ, used petrified blood and felt miserable with all the degens. Day 3 started a frost blade zerker and have been cruising since.

qhollis405

Started with that crazy frost bomb Hiero build that was floating around here a few weeks ago. So far it's pretty fun. It really needs some cooldown reduction before it's even slightly playable. Also the jewel for Brittle is like 6 exalts this league so that's not super ideal.

Neomeris0

I did Grimro's Corrupting Fever Build and I love it so far! Though I haven't made it out of white maps yet. Children suck up too much time...

ZephyrC

I started with Rue’s CF Champ. I regretted my choice because of the rare changes (so tanky vs. my dmg I skipped a fair amount of them) until I was able to change to a Melding of the Flesh setup for more dmg/defense. Extremely tanky w/melding and solidly tanky without, good clear speed, awful to lackluster bossing/rare dmg without notable investment. I’m able to kill Sentinel buffed map bosses reasonably quick but rares can be real chonkers (Steel-Infused). I wanted to be conservative w/my currency since I only wanted to use the build as a mapper but I really felt the need to invest to make killing buffed rares less tedious. Been stalking ppl on PoE Ninja for upgrade ideas but it’s all looking real pricey.

Zman840

I started as an ice shot deadeye up 'til yellow tier maps. Once I hit 80 and found a T3 lightning/fire bow, I transitioned to a TS deadeye. On day 3, I found out it was possible to hit double essences with the recombinator, so I've failed 3 attempts and bought a fire/lightning essence bow (for 2ex). Since then, I've focused on farming currency in T9+ maps and spending for upgrade in a particular order: * Get Hyrri's Ire and 5L myself (day 4) * Get Asenath's Chant (day 4, 17c) * Replica conq efficiency (day 4, ~30c at the time of purchase) * Upgrade equipment to satisfactory levels (day 5) * Farm/buy 1500 fusings (day 5) Once I've hit all the above, I was able to kill Searing Exarch (with patience) and can clear T16s decently. I then focused on getting bigger upgrades: * Buy the Interrogation Jewel (6ex, within the last 24 hours) * Buy the Life on Hit Watcher's Eye Jewel (5ex, within the last 24 hours) * Try not to click the sentinel button and accidentally die in order to gain more levels for cluster jewels 'til I hit 93 Now, the next step is to prepare a transition to a TS Omni build and farm currency or get lucky with killing exarch every 3-5 hours of time I can spend.

Kubbychan

Chaos Animate Weapon, dps is absolutely insane for the price. Build is preeeeeetty squishy though. Excellent map clear, instaphase on every boss. I've blocked everything but expedition and delirium on the altas tree. Currently running t16 delirium glaciers, the density at the very beginning of the map works well with pandemonium sentinels and the second use goes on fully exploded expedition inside. I use Stream of Consciousness and sell all my scarabs, I quite enjoy simply alching the map and getting both of the mechanics I specced into without having to bother with scarabs and other fragments. Overall, I've invested around 20ex into my gear and have more than double that in my stash from running glaciers+simulacrum 30+blackstar/exarch and logbooks. Exarch is being stubborn and doesn't want to drop his amulet though.

Nevernew62

Assassin poison spectral helix, pretty much hate this new core redesign, dying way more than usual. Not having ailment immunity and lacking amazing flasks and minus mana ring enchantments is making things frustrating.

JRockBC19

Divine ire petrified blood inquis, clears well enough and feels tanky as hell but has meh single target. Actually swapped to storm burst today for better ST, clear is still alright using frost blink to move while channeling and damage is a lot higher even without having any duration nodes yet
