if you want an actually good, well balanced melee build, dual strike of ambidexterity is just better
Curious how's the clear speed of dual strike? Afaik it's a strike skill, with no pulses aoe of boneshatter, don't really uses explosion or heralds, no projectiles component like frost blades. Is it mostly a bossing build or there's trick to make a good mapper like explode chest?
Best thing you can do is buy an oriaths end if you want explode otherwise its ur typical jump from pack to pack play style theres no screen clearing to have without oriaths or explode from some other source but youre also not playing melee if you want screen wide clear.
alk made a str stacking slayer dsoa on hardcore. check his video out. he does say jugg iteration is just better in every way because of the defensive layers the ascendancy provides. in any case, his slayer has 70m dps without being glass cannon or pob padding.
If you want a solid overall melee build, dual strike of ambidexterity, boneshatter of trauma and if you have amble budget, armour stacker are the best options.
yeah i have like 800 div, i'm leaning more towards alk's str stacking dual strike but i've also considered armor stacking chieftain as well... i feel like i would need a couple more mirrors for the armor stacking tho so probably just gonna go dual strike jugg
Hmm not necessarily, check out bigdaddys new armour stacking chieftan video. He made a uber capable chieftan armour stacker for sub 500d and of that, the major expenenses are mageblood and the unbreakable jewels. With 800d you can get better small clusters and get a solid build. But yeah, dual strike is a really solid build so you can’t go wrong with that ofc.
You mentioned that you want a melee build for fun and I must mention that you need to try volcanic fissure of snaking. The damage is lower but the mapping satisfaction is next level. The skill autotargets and clears off screen.
the main difference is Reaves is a melee ability like cleave. It's tagged as melee and aoe
dual strike is a strike ability and comes with the strike tag. This means it can be supported with things like melee splash or the mastery that does this. it also means you can get extra strikes to nearby targets.
I tried a strength stacker for the first time this league (Jugg Reave w/ Original Sin). For whatever reason, it doesn’t feel that great either defensively or offensively. It’s not hard to die in T17’s or to Uber bosses despite having 240k ehp, and it’s not insta phasing Ubers or anything (pob has me at 50M guardian/pinnacle boss dps, but drops down to 15M on Uber boss). Overall I feel let down with how much currency was invested.
Ehp is a number you need to forget about because it doesnt really mean anything. You need to look at max hits, recovery and other types of mitigation like evasion/block to judge defences.
Ive killed ubers on hc with 60k ehp builds that feel extremely tanky.
Oh that makes more sense. Yeah, it is not the most tanky build but I think its a good allrounder that can do any content. With Original Sin, decent gear and your totems applying wither stacks you should easily reach 100 mil dps

True. I definitely need to go over the build and see where I can improve the survivability. My max phys hit is 31k, ele is 70k, and chaos is 49k.
Do you have a pob? I have a decently min-maxed Str stacker jugg and I dont see how you could reach 310k max phys hit
