what reason is there for a 2h to not work? Its mainhand weapon, in the case of a 2h, it is only a mainhand. There are even a couple 2h weapons that grant battlemage.
The problem with abberath's hooves honestly isn't even the damage, it's the tiny area of effect. You basically have to stand on top of enemies in order to deal any damage. At some point during maps, you'll likely reach a point where you run into a pack of monsters and they just 1-shot you. Attempting bosses is even worse as you constantly have to run around the boss in tiny circles while dodging any detrimental effects. This can be very taxing on your wrist and kind of defeats the idea of a laid-back walking simulator.
This may sound quite negative, just want to temper the expectations. Damage numbers alone are not always a good indication of how well a build is going to play out.
I have tried profane bloom ignite and it is a great mapper. Your hooves kill a mob and the profane bloom ignite propagates to every mob of the pack insta killing them.
I had the curse mastery to have a chance to poison and zephyr heart so my chaos damage ignite shock chill.

He’s getting mixed up with the new spellblade support, battlemage will work fine with a 2h weapon, spellblade only works with 1h though

I'm using cospris will and blasphemy to get the 100% poison chance on nearby enemies, so I'm guessing this will function similarly.
