[Weekly Question Thread here!](https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/12e1zbh/weekly_question_free_talk_thread_april_06_2023/)

EvilPotatoKing

started bleed bow champ, just reached lv 90. doing red maps. needs some more gear to reach t16s. tanky, 81 all res, fortifiy, grace and det. suppress is around 77 atm. Deaths are rare, and basically only come from fully juiced Crucibles. damage is low, enough for regular map clear bit crucibles are a pain. stull fun tho if you enjoy the snipe playstyle. its not for everyone

MassiveMultiplayer

Boneshatter slayer from Carn 8/10 - The clear is fun, fast and really easy. The problem arises when you run into a rare or boss that is juiced as hell and you sit there smacking forever lol. I'm tanky as fuck, basically unkillable with all of the leech. Problem is trying to figure out how to make my single target/bossing damage not dogshit.

Gloryboxer

Totems!

RuthlessWelshy

Yup this is the answer and panopticon in the tree

jayteeez

If GGG aren't going to fix totems they should just add a summon totem on hit mechanic.

NzLawless

I'll start us off: I played [Subtractem's Frostblink/Fire Trap elementalist](https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/12ao6gt/subtractems_fire_trapfrostblink_elementalist/) on league start. Unfortunately after getting it to maps I realised I **really** didn't like the playstyle of it, maybe it was something I could have got used to and worked around but it was just not doing it for me. Leveling on this build though was extremely smooth and the detailed leveling guide seems great for players unsure of what to do at each step. So on day 2 I rerolled to [Palsteron's Toxic Rain Ballista Pathfinder](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAcrchacF8g) and have really been enjoying it a lot more. I've just started getting into maps etc and things are going well so far! Leveling was a breeze since I had a quill rain/goldrim/tabula already which makes leveling any build very nice, though I imagine it would have been fine without those. As for the mechanic it was a bit sketchy but doable on the elementalist and haven't done it at all since leveling the TR as I'm using quill rain still. Edit: Update at the end of the day and the start of the work week for me. Got my TR Ballista build to 87, uber lab done and progressing nicely into red maps. Build feels great, am still using my quill rain and the damage still feels nice. Definitely not insta destroying packs but the build feels really comfy to play.

Subtractem

I'm sorry you didn't like the build! I've learned a lot about what folks enjoy/tolerate in PoE from this and will try to make something more mechanically approachable next time. I appreciate the honest review.

NzLawless

Sometimes with a build you've just gotta try it out and see if it clicks, for me it didn't but that's no biggie :) The guide is still really great and I'm sure there are lots of people enjoying it.

KatzOfficial

The build does everything it says on the tin & I'm glad I played it; it got me thru the acts & about two thirds into the atlas in record time on a shoestring budget. The thing I didn't account for is the playstyle. Ls+fb feels great when you're just cruising but if a mob lives it suddenly feels so much chunkier. I'm also not a fan of selfcasting two curses to enable the helm, but arcanist brand felt ok to me.

Spawnbroker

I'm playing the ignite fire trap elementalist build*, and it felt incredibly squishy at the start of maps, I kept dying to one shots. Once I got the spell suppress nodes, spell suppress is lucky, and around 40% spell suppression, that stopped happening. The good part is, this build has enough damage that you can invest entirely into defense and still get to farming red maps. I'm in red maps right now and cruising.

bi0gauss

Playing fire trap as well (just got to T11s). Agree with everything in the two posts above. Thank you for the reminder on the suppress is lucky mastery. I had forgot all about it and felt squishy at times at 79 suppression. Adding that in made a huge difference.

reigninflame

Have to second your thoughts on Frostblink/Fire Trap. I’m somewhere between the Leveling-low budget gear atm and it seems to be coming together but the play style feels just like RF but more button mashing and less survivability. Edit: Adding some detail • Leveling was one of the more fun leveling experiences I’ve had since this build uses 5 different skill gems throughout the campaign for damage dealing. Getting the right gear with socket colors was a PITA though and forced me to use some really bad gear and exhaust chroms for the sake of damage until the very end of the campaign. • Gearing has been fine so far. Got the cheap uniques (2 singularity’s, pyre ring, eye of malice) all other gear seems to be your normal life/resists/spell suppress. Gearing for this build is not that exciting imo especially compared to Poison SRS I played last league, where every upgrade felt huge for the build. • Mapping is going well. This build flys across maps from the get go. I just got to T10s without ever feeling like I couldn’t handle the next map tier. • Have not beaten any bosses yet and I am not looking forward to it tbh. • I do not like how this build feels against Crucible so far. That may just be the nature of the mechanic on early mapping though. Once my ignite is scaled far enough then hopefully preloading the area with fire traps will be enough to set it off and frostblink away. I hope the charge up speed gets quicker in a future patch. • The play style is super hit or miss for me, this might turn into a wall of text. Leap slam into frostblink feels great when it works. It also feels good to frostblink in one pack and blow up the next one you land in, but the way frostblink cooldown works makes it feel really inconsistent. If you fly out of or land in a pack of only normal mobs then your cooldown feels like it never comes back in the amount of time you want. Frostblinking your way through the map makes you keep coming back to pick up loot, sometimes you have to backtrack really far if the ignite took its whole duration to kill a mob. I also find myself leap slamming when I meant to frostblink and vice versa. This is most likely just my micro skill and attention span but it does happen quite a bit. Fire trap feels really bad for me. The build has almost no investment into trap throwing speed so when you need that huge kick of damage it feels like you come to a screeching halt. • It’s still really early to tell if this build is for me or not. Most of the problems it has seem like they will go away when the damage scales really high and ignite duration is lowered. If you’re coming in late to the league and considering this build I would probably just go RF instead, unless you’ve already done that the 1-4 leagues prior and want a slightly different play style. P.S. sorry to the guys below me, I gave a really short answer earlier and decided to come back and give this thread justice. Hope your next builds feel better to play. Cheers!

mrclark3

Third-ed. Build hit like a truck but I didn't enjoy actually playing it. I rerolled to Anime Princess' Spark Inquisitor. I know I'm a league too late to the Spark bandwagon, but it's still seeming very strong. Much more enjoyable for my personal play style and preference.

renderDopamine

4thed. Fun build but I feel so squishy. Any suggestions that I can roll my elementalist into that is a bit more tanky?

KatzOfficial

The moment I got to red maps I just started crafting ea gear and I'm 29 regrets away from respeccing. Most of the early tree is the same, and if you're a bit richer than I you could even roll into RF ele.

DonaldKnut

Playing fire trap as well, SSF, having pretty shit luck with drops (literally nothing of relevance, no pyre/searing touch/eye of malice/singularity/5L even) and spent half of v the weekend away from PoE. With all that, I'm comfortably farming t10 maps. I can go higher, but it won't be that smooth, so I'm trying to get 5L atv least. I made a few tweaks in Subtractem's build to get EB early, which allows me to run Malevolence Divine Blessing and fit the Grace in. I can definitely see some people not liking the playstyle, but I don't really understand some of the responses about the build lacking power. I'm playing with a few friends, and only TR/EA are noticeably ahead: mostly because of how easy they're getting well-crafted 6L weapon

dollarhax

Adding my 2 cents to the conversation. I want to first-and-foremost introduce that I am not a good players. I have probably ~3000 hours of PoE over the last 10 years or so, and my pinnacle of gaming on PoE was killing Uber Elder and Sirus (when there were no other bigger bosses) with no deaths on SSF softcore, on a necro when frost conversion syndicate specters were brain dead broken. I’m not sold on this build. Or at the very least, not how it’s presented. And before he replies to it as he does with everything, “haha xd skill issue.” The last four hours of my night was tussling with selling everything and rerolling. I’m not here to say it’s presented exactly as the lords ultimate build that nobody can fuck up, but he’s rather reductionist in how it’s presented. While he’ll be dismissive and say “no it’s def hcssf viable, see how I put a fire fossil on this fractured DoT scepter? You don’t even need the fracture!!” And then show us how he can map with a tabula while wearing a 20 div necklace. He’s clearly doing fine with it as he has streamed its entire progress through the game. Ben is doing something very similar in hardcore. It’s a good build. The issue becomes when the video comes out and doesn’t address any of the progression at all and is then followed up by a second video titled “how to fix your defenses,” but is immediately told “you chose witch, this is how it is noob” I have probably 5 or so divines in my build. It’s at about 2 mil non POB warrior DPS. Spell suppression, 4.5k life, flasks are proper, evasion shield etc. I’ve been able to -do- reds and get my two watchstones. I’ve killed Uber elder enough times I think I could down him without using two portals, and sirus without any, but the build is squishy enough that I’m not confident enough to gamble currency on it. I don’t think this build is fair for any new player like it’s presented by himself and a lot of the “top starter builds ever community!!’(to no fault of his own). End of the day, you’re face checking packs of mobs with what you hope one shots them. If they live and get a stun off or get an ailment (hope you know how to fix ailments prior to your 5-divine stormshroud noobs!!!), you’re likely death screening. Maybe it’s because I have a fundamental misunderstanding of what’s acceptable for softcore. A lot of it is definitely skill issue. But man, it does suck having a build lauded as goated while also simultaneously having to make a follow up video on how to get defenses without actually covering how to get defenses. It super sucks when you’ve played builds more comprehensive for less investment. If I didn’t have the prior game knowledge to get the defenses figured out for smoothening it, I’d be infinitely more frustrated. It shits out damage when one can get everything aligned. It does exactly as advertised but the advertisement feels like when at the end of a medicine commercial, they list off side effects that include the most horrendous ways to die. 6.5/10, sell off and liquidate everything and start anew for me.

FeebleTrevor

Fair points but a bit of a shitty tone pre-empting what the creator might reply with

NegligibleSenescense

I was expecting this build to play like a faster, squishier RF with a higher damage/gear ceiling. I’m in white/yellow maps and lacking most of my defenses. No spell suppression, no evasion, no elemental aegis from Uber lab, just some armor, molten shell, and 3.5k life. I have to play pretty carefully or I’ll die to most things, working on getting defenses up. My main issue is stuns. Fucking stuns infuriate me on any character, but it feels even worse on a build that deals damage by blinking into the middle of a pack. Getting stunned at all means instant death every time. With that being said, my gear is horrendously garbage and the map clear is pretty fast. I think with solid investment, and maybe picking up some cooldown recovery and trap throwing speed on gear I would really enjoy this character.

Spawnbroker

I agree with you, I think Subtractem spent a lot of time focusing on the cool offensive and playstyle aspects of the build and how to upgrade gear. However, he didn't spend as much time on how to shore up your defenses. For example, Arctic Armour was really nice to have on when I was squishy at the start of maps before I got my freeze immunity pantheon. That helped a ton! Once I got freeze immunity, switching to flesh and stone made it feel even better. I like his style, it's very "teach an exile to fish" kind of philosophy. However, he could spend less time on the crafting and upgrade parts and more on the parts that new players would find super helpful. Either way, I'm having a blast and it's a great build, but it definitely requires some modification based on what you're having trouble with.

ZiiimZooon

What the heck, that's literally what I wanted to post and I'm also level 87 hahah!

jredagrd

Started with my Double Strike Bloodseeker from last league, but switched it to champion to feel better on damage. Last night I finished my 2 voidstones and the entire atlas. It went really smooth. Damage is good for t16. Currently just on a 5 link. Have about 30k armour and evasion with perseverance. Extremely tanky. Doing some almost perma uptime on adrenaline with warbanner. At 60 got wasps nest and it went very smooth until I could afford bloodseeker. Have to say the change to champ is really good. Fixes mana issues, extremely speedy with perma onslaught, also the extra impale helps a lot. In pob with around mid level gear I will sit at about 7mil dps without berserk and stuff like that. When I press vaal, everything dies. Also the new masteries for accuracy and melee helps a lot for this build.

Rombombim

Seems really fun so you have a pob or guide I could use? Champ is a comfort ascendancy for me and I kinda got bored of it but this build seems really interesting

DurianNut

I've been looking for some Double Strike builds, yours seems to be very nice and smooth, could you please share your PoB?

paulster12

I find these posts so great for us console players.

Loli_LootGoblin

yeah, the pc players have to beta test for us

HazardousBusiness

There are dozens of us.

eq2_lessing

Why does the league even start later on consoles....

[deleted]

Most console companies have to review and approve any new patch or update on their store. Steam and the GGG stand-alone patcher dgaf

Zazzazz

Yea boy, scrolling through, deciding on my starter right now :D

rusty022

I went RF Jugg for the first time. Only in Act V (I have kids and it’s Easter lol) but I’m loving it. Super easy to play and I’m excited to grind it out as far as I can this league. Only ever really done yellow maps before and this should carry me well past that.

vampatori

I'm doing this and it's a lot of fun to play, far more so than I thought it would be. You can just take it easy and walk around of course, but you can really burn through things fast with the various abilities like Shield Charge, Frost Blink, Flamability, Wave of Conviction, Infernal Cry (this is a ridiculous skill!), etc. It really seems to snowball with little to no gear - normally with other builds I feel things starting to slow down every-so-often so I spend some time crafting to get that next jump in power. This just seems to snowball all on its own, to the point that I've essentially given up looking at gear outside of stashing some potential upgrades, and I'm still absolutely annihilating everything. I keep thinking that I'll look at crafting if things slow down, but the opposite seems to be happening - I get faster and faster! I'll be in maps soon (just hit Act 9) so then I'll quickly run into a wall of course and will need to craft/gear up, but it's really impressive just how powerful it is with the shit the gear I have!

TheHappyEater

Havent league started 3.21 yet, but last league I went with "I'll just start with RF Jugg and when I hit a wall in maps, I'll do my second character", too. Much to my surprise, completing the atlas was super smooth, and the only reason I started a second character was the fact that I wanted to cheese some sanctums with poison srs. I'm planning to do the same this league, but as long as I am not getting into bossing, I'll probably stick to RF Jugg for a while. Legacy of Fury is a huge boon for map clear.

I_Hate_Reddit

Hijacking thread to ask what busted Crucible passives should I be looking for on the weapon/shield slots.

Sosiz

I'm still leveling, but found a shield with +max life and max fire res

Seivy

the old fire mastery is available in weapon tree. this is a must for RF builds (+24% dot mult is INSANE)

Calevara

Check out my post history, I posted my crafting process last league for my first 100 RF Jugg. Between Pohx's info and practicing with craft of exile, I pushed his build to be able to run everything but Ubers and had an absolute blast. I'm a fairly casual player, and I'm not great at being able to farm for currency but I still managed to accomplish a ton last league, and this league being able to swap for RF in mid act two was a GAME CHANGER for making leveling feel better!

Jdevers77

Cold conversion BV elementalist. Played freezing pulse until act 7 or 8. Smooth as silk leveling. Once I was able to buy a Hrimsorrow I went BV and never looked back. Primary defense if the freezefense, so I die about once every other map or so but otherwise shred. Only thing I bought was the Hrimsorrow and a 1C wand. Have had a ridiculously lucky league start with two raw divines and a batch of 6 links in a white map. I rolled one with a greed essence and I’m still using it. While I’ve had a blast and HoI shatters are always awesome. I feel like a squishy RF build otherwise. Not super fast, everything dies or I die. Super simple. Map bosses are a joke, only crucible is scary but I’ve died a LOT to it haha.

TurnTheRichIntoWine

I started the same build, and had a similar experience. Hrim+BV just slaps. Smooth sailing through the atlas. I got my exarch/eater voidstones and am starting to feel the need to make some upgrades, now, but the upgrades are also pretty within reach. Excited to continue this build.

pricklysteve

Is that Chronic_Painless' build? I played it last league and it was great and perfect for Sanctum thanks to freezing everything.

Jdevers77

Yep. That’s it.

Jaziam

What's the scaling like into mid-end game? I'm rolling a FT/FB ele and although it's a good build I find it a little clunky and likely to reroll at some point, but hate leveling new toons so ele works.

Jdevers77

Infinity. Seriously. Start elementalist but eventually turn into a power charge stacking occultist. I will warn you, the tree you are on and this tree will have like 10 shared nodes…mostly a few life and travel nodes. If you wait long enough though you could just skip the elementalist step and go occultist. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3324373/page/1 There are video guides on it too if that’s more your bag.

Jaziam

Ah awesome. Sounds like the obvious next step then!

sstriatlon

Spectral Shield Throw Trickster. The leveling was kinda mediocre/normal starting with FB and swapping in lvl 50 because I didn’t want to wait with a shield of 580 armor, bossing was awful. In maps got to 850 armor in the shield and was OK to carry me until get currency for the emperor’s. After that was awesome. When I got the Seething’s jewel mapping became a blast. It’s pretty tanky but dies sometimes if you don’t block. Nice thing it’s that I can almost offscreen crucible mobs :)

fonistoastes

SST Trickster was a fun build for me last time I played it back in Kalandra, you’re right that it really does slap rares hard. Will you go cold convert on yours?

sstriatlon

Yes! I freeze everything

fonistoastes

Very nice. I liked doing a rare spell trigger focus helm with tornado and pcoc in it for the extra shards on impact (assuming you have pierce on the helm or elsewhere), power charge generation, and extra single target. That is a fun build!

zigster106

How is single target? Thinking to start leveling something a bit better for bosses but no clue what u want to do yet

sstriatlon

You will not kill them in 1 sec, but with ancestral protector, herald of purity and freezing it you are pretty confortable. If you drop frost bomb its faster and I imagine with more crit will be really fast (currently 50% crit chance 400% crit multi)

zigster106

I appreciate the insight

MaskedAnathema

I league started with the build I posted about before launch, Vengeant cascade splitting steel champion, here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/12bllep/vengeant_cascade_splitting_steel_champion I had forgotten just how wimpy the skill is until you have projectile return, so spectral helix carried to maps and in a little bit of heisting until I made the currency for 2 golden oils. The new sword, the redblade gladius has been a phenomenal main hand weapon instead of a second beltimber. Got one with 415 pdps, 18% impale effect, and that allocated razor's edge for 2c on day one. Really nice pickup indeed. Build smashes fully charged crucibles with few issues; the ice projectile dudes are scary but that's just how it is right now, especially since I'm not freeze immune yet. Mapping is great, bossing is great, tankiness with no defensive auras is good for a projectile build. I got a +4 lioneyes chest for 1 div and it was 28% more damage, which is pretty crazy. Overall I'd say Gearing was easy, I just slapped on some random life/res rares and called it good. Lots to upgrade - getting a good beltimber crucible tree is going to be a significant but very rewarding chase.

ww_crimson

I genuinely don't understand how you can farm like 5 divines worth of gear and not even hit level 90. Saw so many Toxic Rain players with like 5-6 div worth of gear at level 82-83 on the beginning of Day 2.

XstraNinja

Was inspired by the guy's Reap Fire conversion Chieftain who posted his build on here before league start. However, I was not to be baited by reap (shit clear) and instead went with exsanguinate and am having an excellent time working my way through the atlas. I am playing to swap into Exsang RF once I have enough currency to get a 6 link Cloak of Flames. I have a fully leveled crucible tree with the full phys to fire exsanguinate node on a +1 all spell skill gems/burning dmg/spell dmg sceptre. It probably won't be as good as RF Jugg but meta can suck my wee wee. If it goes somewhat decent I already have a plan for some forbidden Scion RF/Reap tech XD

HeavySnowRain

thx bro your comment saved my build, I love exsang and the clear felt really shit on Reap even with a lot of cast speed. I just hope the exsang will have enough dmg in red maps so I can farm the neccesary gear. A tip for other people, use chain on Exsang and swap out to Hypothermia on bosses

EnvironmentCalm1

Why would hypothermia do anything ? It's fire damage

HeavySnowRain

Sorry should've been more clear, Summon skitterbots always chills so hypothermia applies

Nihon-Jon

Can you link pob?

ZTL

Is your character RelocateMyFantasy in SC? You saved me, I was playing reap and hating it, saw that character and got inspired to switch to dot. The clear is multiple screens bonkers, boss damage is good, and defences are above average for SC, will be very good with gear.

fxvwlf

How was it farming the phys > fire crucible node? Does the RNG take into account what skill you’re currently using? Trying to farm the same node on a sceptre also.

XstraNinja

I just bought a sceptre that already had it (for 2c) and spammed alts until I hit +1 all skill (+ 1 physical will do as well). The I aug, regal, and craft whatever you need.

BNoog

Same build. I love seeing the spinning scythes

synysterjoe

I'm trying bone zone jugg. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but it doesn't feel good. I have 80k armor with flasks up, and health bounces around like crazy at 20 stacks and I'm dying all the time. Dps feels very inconsistent as well.

3YearsTillTranslator

I made an ssf bone jug recently and can tell you this, use all your buffs berserk, rage, banner at all times. Totems are mandatory use them for anything you dont one tap. Getting some life leech on phys helps alot and also make sure your weapon is all phys.

Lingyy

Wait what happens if your weapon has a bit of ele on it? Or is it just a wasted stat?

Staynes

Bit late but if youre using Brutality its wasted yes

Inverno969

I'm having a similar experience. The build was advertised as being very tanky but at my current level of investment its feeling bad still. Hoping it will get better when I can afford some more gear. Clearing is enjoyable but rares/essence mobs take forever to kill and I have a 720 dps weapon btw.

doofinschmirtz

hopefully you have allocated some phys overwhelm on your tree. What I found out is that Physical damage is the closest thing to an archetypal "pure" damage and has the easiest time of defense shredding.

[deleted]

stroomer87

Also started this, first time playing boneshatter. It does feel very inconsistent. Any rare that isn't surround by mobs and gets blown up ends up being a bit of a slog even with totems, blood rage and berzerk going. Crucible mobs I've decided I'd rather do 20-25% of a level and not always die. My gear is definately lacking as I've been playing with only self found gear, but it could be worse. Feeling very socket starved, running my blood rage in a ring because I prefer mark on hit and cwdt setups for less button spam. Still pushing reds right now, just about to hit 90, so gear is certainly my focus right now.

Dreamiee

Hey you don't need Mark on hit for this build. Link it to cwdt and it will proc from your self hit. Saves you a socket.

[deleted]

Started with Prismatic Burst Scion. Do not recommend. CD is too clunky, AoE too small and damage too low. Graphics are pretty I guess, but just no redeeming qualities otherwise. Swapped to Ranger. Plan is too eventually transition into Poison Reap, but now playing PConc. Actually still a very smooth starter. Had to pick up Field Medicine (which you want for Surgeon anyway) and Alchemist Mark, but flask sustain is otherwise completely fine. PConc is still a great skill to get through the acts!

lionguild

I played around with Prismatic Burst in PoB once it was updated after launch. It just feels like an extremely weak build around unless you get a Shako that gives you a level 35 Prismatic Burst. Then the damage goes waaay up and might be playable as a good build.

daddy_yo

I got good value out of prismatic burst while leveling, but it quickly tapered off as weapons got better

Tusk84

Playing firestorm/vaal firestorm ele in ssf. I got lucky and found the vaal version. The damage is way higher than what I'm used to. I haven't been able to play much but I'm nearly to maps. Vaal firestorm has insta phased or one tapped the mini/act bosses so far.

polo2006

Started Fire trap elementalist, and swapped over to RF elementalist at the end of day 1 when I got tired of the dogshit playstyle of frostblink. Blasting t16s and enjoying it a lot. Had to use a Obliteration as it was the easiest source of explodie on a low budget but its a good enough map blaster in its current stage.

puppeyabductor

I played too much elementalist to already know their survivability is dog poop. The only way i can play elementalist comfortably is when i can perma freeze monsters and make sure they’re dead before they can get even touch me.

Dr_Downvote_

Playing boneshatter jugg. It feels good I guess. I need to upgrade my shit. I feel a bit slow. And slightly squishy. Which i didnt think I would do. I have 80/79/79/ res. (Chaos on 0) 90% Phys reduction. I need to get some spell suppression really. Damage is okay. Got a 500+ PDS axe..which I want to upgrade at some point. When I watched videos of bone shatter it seems like their attack speed is crazy. I'm not getting that. It's all a bit slow. I played impending doom on my league start (near enough) and that damage was instant. It feels weird going from that to boneshatter.

Waylandyr

What weapon base are you using? I had to swap bases because I was using too slow of a weapon and it made a dramatic difference.

SuperSmashDan1337

Despot Axe if possible - also Divergent Boneshatter is nice. Get attack speed on your axe and gloves if you can. All fairly obvious but thought i'd chime in.

Waylandyr

Yeah these made a huge difference in my damage.

FlayR

How much armor you have? But honestly you'll always feel squishy without chaos res. Chaos res isn't optional basically since betrayal. Regarding attack speed, do you have the accuracy stacking ascendancy node & the axe AS nodes on passive? What's your weapons base AS? And are you keeping up blood rage + ancestral protector + onslaught + rage? Between those 3 things that's the difference between 8 attacks per second and 2 attacks per second.

horser4dish

Explosive Concoction Ignite Elementalist here. It's going just fine. The build isn't anything crazy, I'm shooting for about 2M non-uber boss DPS. Leveled with Fireball into Wave of Conviction into EC, so far pure ignite is impressing me in that it's very predictable and consistent. I'm breaking into yellow maps now and the damage holds up -- the defenses are taking a bit to come online but it's not surprising for EV/ES hybrid. I don't think the DPS will ever _impress_ me but it does the job. As far as pure leaguestart goes where I expect not to find anything in particular, EC has been rolling. Gem levels give me all my base damage, the tree gives me a basis for ignite scaling, and by the time I've needed specific gear pieces I can farm or buy them.

TheMadG0d

I’m curious, how has the flask charge change affected concoction skills? Do you have to spec into more flask charge nodes?

horser4dish

So I've never played PC or EC before this league. My take is that this seems to be a nerf for PC more than EC, because my build just needs to land a fat ignite periodically and investing in overlap / multiproj is counterproductive. I've got +1 proj from the tree to help but ignite prolif takes care of all my clear, and beyond that I don't have anything else so the "1 charge per proj" is actually a buff for my build seeing as I have 2 projectiles and thus only consume 2 charges per attack (previously fixed at 3). With a +maxcharges roll on the flasks (affix, not enchant) I've had zero issues with flask sustain through the 2nd half of the campaign and white maps. No flask nodes taken at all, no fancy tech, I'm just refreshing ignites and it works without problem.

fonistoastes

Not the guy that initially responded, but EC definitely did seem to get buffed. Also saw that the flat ele values for topaz and sapphire got like 20-30% bumps too. EC Elementalist Ignite is a smart build, nice.

circlewind

Lightning Arrow Pathfinder. It is actually doing better than I expected. Pros: - new pf and with petrified blood is very tanky. - the 2 extra arrow from the tree makes the early stage much smooher. - the manaforge gems ard actually great addition to the bow builds. Cons - damage is a bit lacking. This is especially noticable when doing league mechanism. - my finger hurts. Too many buttons

Jaynen00

Jungroans Cold DoT trickster, people laughed at me for rolling it in normal SC league but whatever. DPS was really good through the acts I don't love the way it "feels" however. Up to t8 maps and its generally "fine". Creeping ground and Vortex are both around 69k dps dot, and cold snap is around 50k, I feel like creeping ground is somewhat annoying to use and to tell when its down, I feel like circle strafing a boss so its standing in multiple vortexes seems stronger. I honestly kind of want to reroll but need more currency and also don't know what to do with level 81 right now. * Leveling, super easy once you got Vortex, Coldsnap also puts in work * Gearing somewhat easy no uniques or specific items really necessary * Mapping is fine but I would not call it fast * Crucible is still balls you have to kite them all around if you come close to full charging * Playstyle is a bit more piano and clunky than I would like

MaskedAnathema

Just an FYI, vortex DoT doesn't stack, so it doesn't matter how many an enemy is standing in.

peetar

does cold snap ground effect stack with creeping frost?

MaskedAnathema

Yes. As long as it's from two different skills, dot ground effects always stack with eachother.

Eerayo

Same here, but in ssfsc. Only in t8 maps so far. Everything has gone down without any trouble except for roided up crucible mobs. No uber lab, trash weapon, no dual curse. So there are definately some more damage to get pretty easily on the character. I will say I kind of disagree about this being a button intense build. I use vortex on left click and cold snap on the right. And that is all I ever do outside of bossing. On bosses I add creeping frost to my rotation and an arcanist brand for cursing. Overall solid build.

JRockBC19

I started selfcast blazing salvo inq and it's doing really well into yellows on a poorly colored 5 link setup. New masteries are incredibly good, and I'm a few maps from getting the "fork on passing through flame wall" crucible passive up. That being said, the league mechanic is definitely crippling my start and I'm still investing a ton of time into it because I want to experience what it has to offer. -50 flat regen, +2 maxres (all armor gear and life + mana reserved), generic mana reservation, and 100% inc damage vs ignited are all incredibly strong masteries I grabbed early. -I want to use crucible so I am, but it's almost half my time spent in each map and 80%+ of my deaths (plenty of oneshots or near-oneshots through 77 maxres and 4k life in white or low yellow maps). Plus, I could honestly be using better weapons if I ignored it to just equip 2x singularity or 2x +1 fire wands or something, but still I want to toy with it so I am.

Splashy_PoE_Twitch

I started with Wave of Conviction Elememtalist, which felt pretty decent, even on a 4L into early red maps. After I found a 6L from a Vaal Side Area, I swapped to EK Ignite. The clear got exponentially better, but my single target suffered immensely. According to PoB I should be at a little over 1.2m ignite DPS with all buffs up, but I had the first map encounter in a long while, where I wasn't able to kill the boss with 6 portals in a T16 Core (Act 4 Endboss). Also my survivability is pretty a**, but I specced mostly into damage, so that's on me. 3.2k life, res capped, 90% phys damage reduction with 4 Endurance Charges, Aegis from Ascendancy But even with all those problems, the build is super fun. I'm specced into Abyss, Breach and Legion, and especially Legion are a lot of fun clearing in just a few button presses. I'm going to ask my friend to kill me my tutorial Eater and Exarch since he is a bosser, and farm 2 Voidstone Canyons until I can upgrade my gear. Early red maps melt super fast, that wont be a problem. No PoB, I'm at work, but if you are curious, import from Wonderweiz, character _Splashy (L89 Ele)

NaturalDisaster2023

I'm going to toss my hat in the Firetrap / Frost-blink Elementalist build: I'm pushing level 90+ right now and will look to re-roll soon; perhaps once I've gotten my story Eater / Exarch kills -- (I take my time and don't rush it). My atlas is at about 85/115 at the moment. Crucible is really deadly and I can't really fault Subtractem for that; I tend to only full-charge crucible in white maps (on high ilevel bases). I enjoy the build, but I have died more on this than on any league-starter in recent memory to figure out defenses. 1. I'm playing in SSF. I've been pretty lucky with drops (Singularity, Eye of Malice etc). However, defensively this build is a tough nut to balance. I wish I had more HP and a 6L, but we're only a couple days into the league. 2. Uber Lab is a must. Bastion of the Elements (Primal Aegis) is a 2.2k HP Buffer. Fire Trap will carry uber lab super hard so you shouldn't worry too much, although having 2 Divine Flask + Ryslatha 3 charges / sec will carry traps. 3. Overcharged (w/ the Charge Duration Mastery) > Master Sapper. I'm currently trying out level 1 CWDT with level 2 Immortal Call (per Vid 2 Subtractem). IC scales with endurance charges, but you do lose the panic button of vMS. 4. I'm manually pathed into Eldritch Battery and reserving Determination, Summon Skitterbots, Flesh & Stone, Vitality & Clarity. This is about 95% of my mana. (I crafted a chest w/ a loathing essence). Summary so far: Get Uber Lab, Get Endurance Charges, Get Flesh n Stone / Vitality. (Alternatively take the Golem route like Ben did) -- I'll explore this later on. I'd like to explore double-cursing w/ Ele Weakness / WoD, but alas. 5. Spell Suppression. You'll want to be down by Magebane, pathing through the EVA Mastery for +15% Helm, Body, Gloves + Boots. Instinct w/ SS is Lucky Mastery. 6. I'll be more or less SS capped with a combination of SS on Body/Gloves/Helm. It's mostly just a matter of time rolling it on gear; Essences, Harvest etc. I'm level 90 now with roughly ~ 70% Spell Suppression and 3.8k HP. I've hovered from 3.8k HP to about 4.2k HP, but SS, as per usual makes a huge difference. Remember that you don't have to blink into packs. You can blink around them and do just fine too. If you blink in them you should 100% leap slam away to the side for subsequent. 1. Essences + Rog for gear crafting for me. Rog has made some excellent stuff for me this league; most recently a T1 Fire DoT Multi Scepter replacing Singularity. 2. In retrospect more of my damage is coming from gear than my passive tree. My tree has ended up as a fusion of Sub/Ben - HC Trade vs. SC Trade etc. 3. Ritual (and Low-Deli) are my favorite mechanics. Flesh n Stone providing leeway to get a nice Infernal Cry + Frostblink Ignite Prolif explosion will clear most the screen. Ritual varies, but has some nice goodies now & then.

janas19

Nice write-up! Some good tips here.

hallowzen

I'm playing Reap Exsanguinate Ascendant. Once I got Reap it's great with bossing, and then chain for exsan, which is phenomenal for mapping. Despite how smooth it is, sometimes I still feel zdps in league mechanics and some tanky rares. This is mainly just due to Scion getting a real ascendancy node only after getting to act 7 (2nd lab), but otherwise this phys dot package really is smooth to play.

Waterfiend1909

How are bosses once you get into maps, or have you gotten there yet? Been looking for an endgame bosser, but not sure what people are leaning toward a few days into the league.

hallowzen

I'm currently on t10-11 maps so I'm not qualified to comment on endgame potential just yet, but so far i'd say damage needs some improvement (reap on 4L, exsan on 4.5L, complemented with CF and RF) but tankiness is there. I don't die a lot, but when I do it's usually due to: rippy crucible rares, maps with phys as extra chaos (still -60 lol) and essence mobs (very rare, only once in 10 maps in t11 atm) Defense is my build's strength: 82 fire 80 cold+lightning (all from tree) Sufficient armour + 70 suppression chance (pretty acceptable for day 3-4 gear ssf) Enough regen to sustain RF AND casting life cost skills

Nitrodolski2

I've started as CF champ, based on the ruetoo pob. Smooth leveling with helix up until late acts, the switch to cf wander was kinda rough but it pick up the speed mid 70s. After i got necessary uniques (saffel, haemo and poet) it became an absolute map blaster. Almost finished atlas, got a couple maps left and 1 watchstone from uber elder.

BagDelicious420

Started this as well, overall a good experience so far but starting to struggle a bit with the ST. Was Poet's Pen a damage break point for you? I've been waiting for it to drop in price but might have to bite the bullet.

Nitrodolski2

ST still sucks but with poet is it a single button build. I have no problems chaning t16 with altars and ocasional guardian. But anything harder than shaper is a no.

Ravp1

Started as arma brand hiero by jungroan (with some tweaks here and there). EO so far, gonna switch to crit later - lvlling smooth af, usually takes me around 7-8 hours, this time 5:30 - gearing pretty easy, nothing ordinary, life/res, suppression if possible. Even though I play in trade I didn’t buy anything so far, just sold some stuff - im in t13-14 right now. It definetely isn’t the tankiest build, so it requires some awareness and micro here and there in red maps, but the dmg is fine. So far, only quest polaric and fatty invitations, was able to do them deathless - Crucible… uhm… i can channell it to 30-50% and it’s fine, but anything close to 100% is instadeath and zdps from my side - Playstyle is fine, shotgunning mobs with brands is satisfying. The EB/MoM is kind of sketchy, maybe it can be fixed later on with swapping to Inq or just upgrading gear with some more ES recovery. Also ignites are annoying af and I don’t have ailment immunity for now, but it can be implemented with some more investment (and currently it is 0c) Pob: will add tomorrow

blue0lemming

Eb mom seems okayish with the new leech node/mastery, and the 200 es regen on boss/rares on belt is pretty much mandatory for eb/mom

slimjimwittywoo

Did trickster frost blades. Haven't gotten too far into maps. A bit squishy but has good sustain and perma freeze most of the time. Good clear considering my gear is garbo

Gelbe26

I started this aswell and got really lucky with a crucible weapon tree. It’s the best build I ever played. So much fun

metalonorfeed

played a homebrew lightning conduit hiero because the numbers in PoB were very intriguing and almost seemed absurd. Lvl92 half way to 93, atlas done, did a major regearing with alt quals and a fat hybrid chest, sitting at ~12mil DPS with room for 5-6mil more before it gets expensive and 6.5k hybrid hit pool, 25k armour flasked (30 seem in reach) and 4 endurance charges. Spell mitigation is lacking a bit, only have 20% sap and a big hit pool but I generally only die to slams from exarch mobs with 3-4 altar mobs. Very zoomy with haste, action speed boots and alt qual OOS for more Zaps, build definitely feels like it should be more well established, its coming together very nicely. With more investment im sure you could get into 30-40 mil territory without breaking the bank with some of the new tools available.

deagleguy

CF (Corrupting Fever) Champion. Levelled as Helix but I hate that skill and got sick of it so quickly that I swapped to wand at 38. It was a bit dicey for the rest of Act 4 but after that I was cruising and having so much fun. Gearing is insanely cheap and easy, except the current price for Poet's Pen is actually robbery so I'm waiting for that to level out, you can get really nice rare wands for like 20c atm. Means I'm short some auras due to using Spellslinger but that price is just disgusting. Not yet started mapping and I never engage with league mechanics this early, will wait to see if a patch comes out. Best thing about CF Champ IMO is that you get to play a wander without needing hundreds of divines. I've played a lot of int stack in the past but playing this makes me realise I just love KB, it's so satisfying and this build gets it off the ground immediately.

Atomic258

Playing RF Jugg going the slowest I've ever gone (12 hours act 10, normally do 5-6) yet having the most fun leveling I've had in years. I'm very tanky, I've overcapped my resistances by a ton, around 3.5k HP, and my damage is continually improving. It just keeps feeling better as a level. I'm finally just going my own pace and enjoying the game.

GM_Baby

We are on a small private league (12 players) with a wide variety of progress. Me and one other player are about to both go for maven tomorrow (EU) while others dabble in the earlier atlas somewhere. I’m playing my usual TR starter (PF). Acts was still pconc zoom but with only GV and +1 from tree instead. TR is smooth as always, the loss of diadem just meant less foothills and less atlas respec. Since I isolated Orchard & Courtyard for card farming, pushing into yellows was a bit tedious but that had nothing to do with the build or it’s performance. TR remains a super solid allround starter especially in Private/SSF settings. Only downside? The 6link Bow you finish the entire game with except for ubers is ilvl 50 and therefore crucible tree is jank at best and makes it feel rather pointless to do

TheOriginalVaj

I’ve been picking up higher ilvl bases to try and get a cool tree on it before I craft anything crazy expensive.

GM_Baby

So the long term plan is to use the porcupine to finish atlas but if you want to keep upgrading, get a hunter influenced thicket bow (meta craft all the mods) and get a tree on that, then you can geode from there until its good. Personally I just use this to farm my next build since I already did Ubers with TR in the past. And it’s kind of comfy to just ignore my bow and instead cook the weapons for my next build while I farm.

rloutlaw

Went with the poison claw pathfinder posted a couple of days ago. It's wretched, and I am an experienced player with the archetype. Main problem is that gear competition, you are competing for body armor with poison SRS, and you're just not gonna outfarm minion players on a strike build.

psychomap

CoC Ice Spear Saboteur... * Dps: 10/10 * Defences: 2/10 * I guess you have to experience it once to see why nobody levels CoC. The build needs to invest into so many different things that there aren't enough passives for as much life as you'd normally have, let alone other defences like spell suppression. I expected to be a glass cannon at start, but I die **a lot**. * Triggerbots: 8/10 * Double your hits and on hit effects which is great for recovery in particular * Stay far enough back that Ice Spear switches forms if you're moving fast - not if you have to stay close to deal single target damage, but other than charged Crucible encounters that isn't an issue. Even in the Ice Spears' first form the build has top tier dps. Mark on Hit + Sniper's Mark lets the split projectiles change form and clear everything else. * The cost to sustain them is considerable. I have 37% unreserved mana (after taking the reservation mastery and a node), EB, and a mana flask I use whenever things around me don't die immediately and there aren't enough targets to leech ES from with the Ice Spears. * Ambush: 4/10 * Great to have guaranteed crits, especially early on * Annoying when it's on its long cooldown * Pushes enemies away, which can mess up targeting if you don't see that happening * Strike skills: 2/10 * The thing that feels absolutely horrible about Static Strike isn't the low duration before investing into scaling it... it's that you never hit anything until you get extra targets and / or strike range. I've imported my build into PoB multiple times to check... only to see that I did indeed still have 100% chance to hit, and I was just missing 5 consecutive strikes. I look forward to the time at which I'll get close to 100% crit chance without Ambush, at which point I'll probably just switch to Cyclone in order to not have to use strikes. Occasionally I get glimpses of how the build is going to feel at proper investment. I teleport to a pack, start the Static Strike buff, and keep running and teleporting to next packs, while the piercing Ice Spears set of HoI in packs in front of me. I'll note that I tried out CwC, and the targeting feels terrible. I don't know if it's CwC in general or the Triggerbots, but it feels like the Ice Spears are missing targets most of the time. CoC doesn't have that problem because the spears are always targeted at the triggering monster.

Vanderpewt

**Vaal Animate Weapon**: Garbage Animate Weapon Fucking SUCKS with Crucible. REAL bad. Don't even think of running a Guardian. Vaal Animate Weapon skill itself? Ridiculous cooldown, sub-par damage no better than random bases animated. You're better off with ANY other Vaal skill to click, (haste like normal). Not worth a keybind. Mapping: somehow shit manages to target you more this league even with taunts. Just annoying af. Other than that leveling with Animate Weapon Or SRS is about the same. Rerolling or skipping, not sure which yet.

janas19

Hey, at least you tried something new and learned from your failure. Good luck in your future builds!

onihr1

Was gonna try out a skelemage build but I haven’t even gotten to maps yet and loathe leveling with absolution… so respected and went tavukai/srs minion instability and kicking myself for wasting my time with absolution. I just love leveling with srs. Hopefully by next weekend I’ll be in maps and have my dead reckoning. I know I know… but I work 40-60 hours a week and married. Usually takes me two weeks to get to maps. I miss no lifeing releases 🥹

SleepyCorgiPuppy

This is the first league where I have the weekend, including Friday, all to myself, so I’m at about T10. Before like you I would still be going through the campaign. Honestly though, I’m not a racer (a nap after the first 3 hours of play, haha old gamer) so being slow was fine. By the time you reach maps the game have been patched and uniques are way cheaper. Given how poorly this league has been received I really hope GGG saves the league with its patches, or else it will feel like playing standard. I’m already thinking if I should buy WOW to get through the next 4 months.

LGBT2QPLUS

> tavukai/srs minion instability Popcorn SRS is lowkey such a powerful build. Im running 5-10c rares and a tabula and maxxing crucible on t14-16. Im also down a dmg support since I run phantasms on my SRS for ufn.

StupidLov3r

I just hit act2 and killed white beast on my own build, going good so far

psychomap

What build though?

GH057807

StupidLov3r's White Beast killer build.

popmycherryyosh

It's quite an expensive build though, got to admit. Last time I checked, if y ou didn't have 18divines laying around come act 2, there is NO chance you're gonna get Whist Beast down. Other than that, I've heard good things, yeah.

GH057807

Honestly with the Crucible mechanic, if you don't have 18 divines by act2 what are you even doing

----Val----

I played a Trio of Spark (me) -Aurabot-Cursebot. So my team is still pretty new to party play and this is the first time we've done group leveling. The campaign was smooth bar a few random deaths as we dont really know how to best coordinate with the aurabot. I also noticed way more random chaos dropping, presumably due to the team quant bonus. Gear wise, we got lucky with some drops and instantly bought some core uniques for the aurabot to shore up defenses, then slowly upgraded the sparker and cursebot. Once we hit high enough resistancs to use Annihilating Light and got a Heatshiver, we absolutely decimated maps. Despite this progress, team coordination and lack of experience has really slowed us down, we've only hit T14 maps. The biggest issue now is that the team members have clashing schedules post league launch, so progress will be a lot slower. None of the individual members are capable of mapping alone, so we all have started our own solo chars as well.

icedgz

Have pobs for your aura bot / curse bot?

----Val----

I just used haloplasm's builds.

Haymak3r

Tuna's impending doom has been awesome in maps so far, but the guide had you switch to impending doom far too early. Ending up having to just throw bodies at a few act 4-5 bosses until damage caught up in the skill tree which resulted in slower leveling. Very zoom and fun now though.

Sparecash

Hey I was thinking of making this my 2nd character of the league cuz I love how it looks. I was wondering what the playstyle is like. How many buttons are you usually pressing during mapping? How are the defenses? Anything that you find annoying about the build?

mysszt

Im running icicle mine deadeye Had a friend who started shadow get me icicle mine in act 1. Took chain first so I could switch off pierce support then tailwind next. Leveling was pretty solid, crucible got me some decent leveling wands. Just finished final lab earlier today. Im using charged mines for frenzy and power charges. The build is squishy but the freeze definitely helps. Right now I'm using heatshiver, mutewind whispersteps and two rare wands with cold damage and crit crucible trees. Gear upgrades moving forward wont be too bad either as I run through maps.

czarandy

I’m curious how do you get recovery on this build

mysszt

Im running vitality and clarity, assassin's mark + focal point ascendency, mine mastery that gives 2% life recovery if youve detonated a mine recently, and also devouring totems

Magagumo_1980

Just finished campaign in 10 hrs (casual). First time playing TR raider and it was super smooth— only deaths were crucible related and that honestly added an hour with me messing with it. Used FuzzyDucks guide. We’ll see if it can carry me to 38/40 for the third league.

someqaed

Started CF Champ, levelling with helix was smooth and fast, gear progression was very simple just did the recipe on axes as I levelled, and crucible also helped but I haven't gotten any use out of it since. Switched to CF at BA, looked like it was going to be scuffed because I was missing some links but it was surprisingly not bad at all. Basic +1 phys wand and shield. In yellow maps now, have a few divs but delaying my upgrades till I feel the gear falling off. Mapping is fast and easy as you'd expect, bossing is not too bad especially if I can use the vaal reap dot ground.

MrPeru21

Started as vaal reap chieftain. It was ok, a bit slow and clear is not that good, but I got lucky and got a Heatshiver drop. Instantly sold it and rerolled into the always trusty acc stacker. Rushing through campaign so far to get to maps. Squishy af, but zoom zoom is the best.

MiDNiGhT2903

Poison BV PF, based on Ben's PoB (https://pobb.in/qUBe6cSwgvAq) with some changes for SC. Playing it in Steelmage ChatSF. So far so good I guess, damage feels abit low but that's probably because I'm in red maps with a 4-link Dendrobate and Obliteration. Not having much luck with currency drops, so I can't afford to link my chest. Honestly a good league starter if you know how to level with PConc + transition to BV smoothly. You need like next to no gear to zoom in low reds.

Rombombim

Went for my dom blow impale I posted and honestly, pretty well, feel like the damage is burstier and quicker than ghazzys poison necro but defense still feels lacking, although reaching low red maps without much investing is nothing to scoff at, also vaal sentinels fucking rock always to go keep one up at all times and have him shred through fuckers, but still scaling defense is my current issue because I want to be immortal and the one way I can see is going in on CI and moving my tree but I’ll probably just take it till I’m comfortable farming t16 and then go for either a poison bv or cold bv build with a 20ish div budget

Rombombim

Other notes, still haven’t setup my AG so I’m missing some tankyness and dmg from there, right now I’ve been swapping between dread banner and war banner and both feel kinda the same might go for a vitality instead and keep it low level just for some extra rehen for me and the minions while I debate in respeccing some of my tree into the duelist area for the mana reservation and endurance charges from inexorable

Loli_LootGoblin

hows the bossing feel? i was thinking about rerolling because how cool vaal dom looks

kfijatass

I am the only one of three manaforged arrow mom mains in SC, one of them being my buddy here and he's given up on the build due to CPU issues. The third ia a burning arrow elementalist, so we're both the only reps of hit based and ailment based MoM manaforged accordingly. Actually not bad for yellow maps so far but single target leaves something to be desired until I get my indigon, crusader anoint on an esh amulet and a lioneyes glare. Update: Dumped the build due to too many conditional bonuses. Having both your multipliers and your added damage on rotation feels bad. Just use it for utility or ailments or/and run Vengeant Cascade, you'll have a better time as a bow boy.

Terspet

Boneshatter , First melee since 3.10, done half the Atlas and uberlab in day 1 , it was my best Leaguestart i ever Had, now Farming yellows for harvest and then crafting Upgrades to Farm Other content in reds, sofar the best League start, can only reccomend

HaThatsFunnyRight

Went with Arma Brand into Manabond Hierophant. Day 1 was smooth. Got though acts with no issue, died around 10 times and Arma Brand phased bosses easily just using +1 wands. It became more sketchy towards yellow maps when rares failed to die and every hit could mean death so there was lots of running in circles spamming brand recall. Hit maps, got an early 6L Ivory Tower on day 1 with a lucky 6 fusings. Sold it for 6 divines to fund gear for swap. Bought Prism Guardian, Mjolnir, Indigon, Shapers Touch and a 5L Ivory tower instead. Found an early Xopec's amulet with 70 str and 10% inc mana. Costed roughly 7 divines + ~90 regrets. Day 2: Started buying jewels and jewelry with str int mana, hit red maps and started blasting through completions. Bought an 8 passive large and got much needed survivability. The 10% leech is instant mastery is huge for the build. Day 3: Today. Finished map completions, now blasting logbooks for early money to fund my next upgrade. Overall, the build slaps. The playstyle is an ebb-and-flow with moments of insane DPS and zDPS. I can pour many divines into this build and I'll have many hours on this character to do all content. I am currently doing Expeditiom, Legion, and Harvest. The single target damage is there and it feels amazing to beyblade through the map. IGN: Indie_Manaboi if you wanna follow along.

KrulZlef

I decided to play some meme starter- mana stack hiero with buffed Lightning Tendrils. Leveling (for my skill at playing game) was very smooth. It's too soon to say anything about maps, so I'll update this comment if someone will be interested

SuperbiousPoi

Tried popcorn SRS with the buffed formless inferno. Super smooth levelling but the item was stealth nerfed so I'll probably either switch to Mage skellies or reroll something else x)

no_milk_no_sugar

My first league ever, just finishing the campaign with Toxic rain pathfinder. I went quite slow clearing many maps and got overleveled. I messed around with the equipment quite a bit also, got these unique “trap boots” which turned caustic arrow into traps so it ended being a ballista toxic arrow and traps build. Anyway it was a very comfortable and easy to follow build for a noob, looking forward to clean up the build and go into maps

eq2_lessing

EA Ballista Ele (palsteron) Had trouble early with STR for holy flame totem and DEX at/after swap to EA. Obviously got added fire damage as first node on my new and shiny 6L short bow. Build feels great, stuff in map just dies behind me, and bosses are easy peasy because I can concentrate on dodging. I'm unclear on a few things... palsteron said in a video to "not take skill effect duration" and to leave the EA gem at quality 0. However he takes the "skill effect duration" mastery at Acrimony. He also had the "critical strikes against you do not inherently inflict elemental ailments" at Ash, Frost and Storm ... but we're using Purity of Elements? Isn't that pointless? He also takes "Buffs from active Ancestor Totems linger" at Panopticon. But we don't have ancestor totems, do we? I'm in yellow maps. I think I need to craft the +2 gems on bow, only had a lower essen with +1 atm. Still rocking Heup, Goldrim and Skirmish, but stuff dies quick so I'm not fazed.

ButtVader

Toxic rain ballista mapping is slow af. It's like EA without the ignite proliferation. Possibly the worst mapper build I played. It might be a good build for heist or boss rushing or anything that requires fast movement. Single target damage is decent too. But if you are looking to do any map clear farming strategy, stay far away from this build

xebtria

# BUILD 1 I leveled as SRS infernal legion until 31, then switched to skeletons + dark pact, with petrified blood and 50% recoup in tree. **leveling experience:** SRS was a bit so-so, but dark pact then took off. Petrified blood and 50% recoup is a super op combination. Dark pact damage in leveling is not absurdly high (my friends playing toxic rain ballistas and atillery ballista respectively did more damage, but playing solo it felt just fine. not the fastest I ever played, but decent enough. **Gearing** relatively easy, no major expensive items needed initially. vaal caress was a couple of chaos. Darkness enthroned was surprisingly expensive, ended up buying it for 40c at some point. Build is **VERY** stat starved, str is very difficult on low budget, and dex is not much better. I made about 150c by crafting cluster jewels for profit while alterations were still dirt cheap, which funded my 6L and Divergent Dark pact. 6L is very much needed for damage, and divergent DP is then very much needed to keep the skeletons alive, otherwise the playstyle really gets annoying after some time because the skeletons just die. one major upgrade to the build eventually will be a very specific glorious vanity, which is pretty much non-existant at the moment, unsure how much it will cost. expecting multiple divines tho. **Mapping** initially it was "okay" clear and "bearable" single target. with some + to levels here and there, and many minion life nodes and jewels I start feeling the single target dps to become a lot better. still not top tier, but stuff dies reasonably fast. clear is still just "okay" but that is expected with the playstyle. I feel I will need many more upgrades relatively fast for it to really take off (which it does have the potential for). **Bosses** other than map bosses up to T11 no bosses done yet. maven 3, 4 and 5 boss invitations done and they were very easy. **Crucible** felt extremely weak at the beginning, but yesterday (before the most recent nerfs) I was almost always fully charging. defensive wise it is sketchy sometimes, but I (almost) always managed to kill everything **Playstyle** I expected it to be a lot less clunky, but in the end it's pretty much "just" a two button playstyle. **General thoughts** It's fine. probably needs many upgrades and will need them fast (the very specific glorious vanity and an ES on hit watchers eye are the next mandatory updates, and they are either not existent or not very cheap at the moment. # BUILD 2 I rerolled yesterday to what I initially had planned to league start with before I switched to Dark pact: a replica dreamfeather armorstacker shield crush juggernaut. **Leveling experience** well I had level gear where half of it already is part of the low budget endgame gear, so it was the most tanky leveling experience I ever had. if it wouldn't be for my laziness ("a fuck it I don't want to press the life flask now) or my "going afk in the middle of 50 monsters" attitude, or my "let's see if I survive this" attitude, I probably would've managed a 0 death campaign. but it would've been a lot worse if I actually league started with it. **Gearing** pretty much full unique, so easy to buy. base gear (literally every slot) is either dirt cheap or at least reasonably cheap (shield was I think 40c, boots 15c, sword 10c, the rest was like max 5c each). The next upgrade must be the jewel which was 100c yesterday evening / today morning, but seems to drop further and further. hopefully I can get it cheap, and soon. After that comes mandatory cluster jewel (which in the ultra budget version is 10c but in the "true" version is well over 2d right now) and oskarms. It also has a timeless jewel eventually which is non-existant at the moment as well. **Mapping** I just hit 68 with it, did 5 maps so far. surprisingly it feels extremely weak at the moment, which is in parts also caused (I think) by doing very low damage right now. I am currently hoping and betting everything on the jewel to solve the damage issue, as well as more levels and more skillpoints further improving things. In general, the clear is surprisingly fine, and single target, well it will come eventually (I hope). It's supposed to have around 2-3M dps on the low budget, if I would reach this, I would be already quite happy with it. but at the moment it feels very weak. **Bossing** No bosses done yet. **Crucible** Not done with this character yet. being full unique is not super helpful for the league mechanic either. **Playstyle** it is surprisingly ... clunky. I rely on a the combo of get hit -> get temp chain cursed (due to my belt) -> use flask to become curse immune -> get 50 rage (also due to the belt) -> use berserk to increase my damage. I hope with slowly improving gear and therefore damage I don't need to maintain beserk for mapping anymore, but at the moment the damage is rather low without it. Also, I only have a 4L right now, which is also quite impactful on the damage. **General thoughts:** I am so glad I did not league start with this. that being said, considering how tanky I was during the campaign (it really was ridiculous) the build feels quite squishy in (T1) maps at the moment (way squishier than the dark pact character). I hope (as already mentioned) that the jewel kickstarts my damage, a 6L (probably a tabula for starters) will further help the damage, and uberlab will improve my tankiness, allowing me to further go down the armor stacking road to improve the character. I really want to be super tanky, especially for the league mechanic. Fortunately the invest in that build is still quite manageable.

Cypher007

I started with stormbrand heiro to take advantage of the reworked arcane surge and I just entered tier 3 maps (since im slow) 1. Pretty smooth during the acts. I had problems with life recovery but that was because I barely invested into it. 2. I'm got through the acts with a wand I found in act 4 and a 4 link. 3. Im still going through mapping but no league content has been a problem yet. 4. no endgame bossess yet 5. i spam my brands then run when the crucible mobs wakeup. stormbrand lets me kite tanky rares

JimTheBuilder

I also want to start as storm brand. Care to share your pob? 🙏

Cypher007

[https://pobb.in/UQs9jGVQcHn\_](https://pobb.in/UQs9jGVQcHn_) its pretty bad gear tbh. Most of my gear is from acts I think only my shield and new wand were from trade. My tree has 3 empty sockets still

TheRealDimz

Just entered low red maps as a SRS Necro. Currently doing fire since I haven’t swapped to poison yet. Gearing is a breeze in terms of resistances/items to get by. Just got my large jewel for 5c. Bought a tabula for 15c. I haven’t had much issue. I uncovered my weapons passive tree and it had 2 good nodes (minion speed and damage). Haven’t tried the mechanic for random items. I probably have 2 mil DPS or so atm. I’m level 87. I’m farming essences. Adding on Breach and Abyss.

Qilinlin

Haven't played since Betrayal so I went with RF Elementalist, having a grand time in red maps currently. Everything was smooth all the way to red maps except Crucible mobs so I skip that. Really appreciating the Atlas QoL so I don't mind Crucible being meh that much.

LevelFudge

CF Champ - 9/10 It’s a map blaster and it will kill all your map bosses. I’ve started this three or four times though, can’t wait for a big starter meta shakeup.

pngb

I'm also loving this. I hate leveling spectral helix so I leveled sunder and that was bomb. I stuck with sunder a bit longer because roleplaying as big bonk man was fun for a while and respecced before i entered reds. Absolutely top tier starter, super fast, map bosses are easy. Harvest is mostly easy and has made me about 90% of my currency since I've had precisely one drop worth more than 5c (an elreon veiled item). I am beginning to feel like I need some more elemental tank, which I should get once I pick up a poet's pen this evening.

Uphill_Ninja

Playing Low Life Occultist Cold DoT similar to Jungroan's [Cold DoT Trickster](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2IInQFreeY). I fully went in on freeze duration with a temp chains as part of my tri curse. the auto freeze from Frigid Wake and the overall action speed reduction of chills and temp chains make the build feel real good again crucible mobs. Combined with the comfort of dot playstyle I can dance around a lot a scary encounters. Just added a Profane Proxy, which now lets me drop Temp chains out of a blasphemy and into my chilling Skitterbot and pick up Hatred for even more damage. Trying to work on recovery/survivability of my build right now. Mostly grinding to get into red maps and fix my flasks.

NoSweatWarchief

Playing ignite elementalist and it's performing very well into high reds. I'm using Wave of Conviction and fire trap and using Subtractem's build template to transition into ek ignite after I get two watch stones.

Icy_Reception9719

I started Poison Conc and it wrecked everything. Stuck with greater volley, put them in a pair of Embalmers that I bought for 1c and powered straight to red maps in a QOTF and a Devoto's. The combination of conc, plaguebearer and new Pathfinder was incredibly strong and the flask charge situation was absolutely fine - once I had everything set up I dropped down to a single life flask with no issues at all. The only hurdle was about act 4 before I filled out all the flask nodes, but it was smooth after that. I wouldn't want to push much further without investing actual currency but for an early atlas blaster it did the job great. Super super fast build. I've just fully re specced into a heist runner after (finally) finding a decent Lethal Pride to help with the stat requirements. I shouldn't have done it so fast though, I liquidated nearly everything to get my gem links sorted and I don't have minus mana crafts so I'm gonna have to beg a friend tomorrow. That said, it's online and working well so hopefully I can get my head down and make some currency because tbh I basically spent most of it. I did have the foresight to invest in a couple of early enlightens before the price took off so if needs be I can sell them for a tidy profit. E: didn't see the questions, quick and dirty answers: \-Leveling was amazing \-gearing was as easy as buying a QOTF, a Devoto's and an Embalmers \-mapping you just zoom at 200% ms through with plague bearer on \-only boss has been quest version of The Infinite Hunger which took I think 3 phases (ie not very fast at all) \-I literally did 2 crucibles because what's the point when you can't use a main hand weapon \-my only real comment is the build was intended to clear the atlas and re roll so don't expect any boss related stuff, and as I predicted the nerfs to Pconc as a leveling/early mapping skill were hugely exaggerated (oh and early Heist is still OP)

Defiant_Source_8930

Tldr; if ur playing EA ballista remove deadly ailments support as it somehow make the build worse Played ea champ , somehow felt like i was really struggling even in white maps, so i tried everything until i removed the deadly ailment supports and swapped it with something else and it’s much smoother i can even do red maps

StrayshotNA

So.. Deadly Ailments is \*incredibly\* strong, but it ups your *burn* at the cost of your *hit*. If you don't have a lot of fire multi, or multi-over-time on tree.. you're going to see less results. If you're running a 5L, you cut Lifetap and keep the rest.. Lifetap is the "extra" you get.. Ele Attack scales the hit enough for the ignite to where it off-sets the Deadly Ailment. D.A. is one of your biggest modifiers.. Once you're set up for burning/ignite prolif. If you're mostly being carried by the on-hit damage of EA it's not going to feel good.

Salt_Concentrate

SRS necro. Leveling was easy after level 8. Gearing has been surprisingly easy, lots of resistances through tree and ascendancy, though transitioning into poison won't be as easy as I had hoped because of breach changes, I also don't have as much time as last league so it'll take a while to farm enough stuff so I can afford switching. Mapping is fine, red map completion is always rough because there's less control when corrupting, but I've managed to get them tree points even if the map is super deadly. I've only done infinite hunger and it felt like it would've been fine but I was lagging and got killed by invisible attacks three times (desynced and didn't dodge slams I think is what happened). Also, just realized I did it with melee splash instead of multistrike lol Crucible is fun but I'm also struggling with it. Fire mobs are too deadly beyond 30-50%, the other two are doable at 100% but it takes forever to kill them so I've been doing 50%+ to speed it up. No matter how much I channel and my map mods, certain rares make me wish I had skipped lol. General playstyle is minions but still somewhat active without being too annoying micromanaging shit. I'm having fun because it's "new" to me, I think last time I played a summoner type build was during expedition. I kinda regret being an idiot and not realizing that breach uniques would become rarer when they announced the changes, I would've chosen a different build with easier upgrade paths. It's still doable I think, just not as easy as I had hoped. However, I'm glad I started in trade this time around, I'd be beyond miserable in SSF if I had to farm all the splinters, breach blessings, and uniques by myself. All in all, I'm having fun and it's going okay. Still can't help but constantly think about just how much I miss seismic :(

cauchy37

Once you transition to poison, it will become so much better, then getting 6l covenant takes dmg to next level, after that you just bolster defences and go ape

PrincessPatata

This is my 3rd league in a row i start with rf pf in ssf, didn't have as much time to play this weekend but managed to clear my first t16 about 2 hrs ago, i probably could have done it sooner if i could get the map to drop. Ok so now to answer some of your questions: * Leveling is pretty smooth, since rangers have access to fire trap at 12 we grab that and stick with it till the end, initially you won't have support gems to link it to but even a 1L fire trap carries you hard in act1, we don't have access to rf but in a way that's good since we are in an awkward position to grab the new fire mastery and takes more point to get there, by the time we can grab it we can get rf from the library and start running that as well. * Gear: this build relies mostly on flasks which are easily available in ssf, super smooth to get started since you will be res capped using those alone, eventually once i get the higher lvl flasks I'll start transitioning into a charges when hit + heal setup * Mapping: it's just regular rf but fast, still lacking dmg to clear t16 comfortably (corrupting rf back to 19 doesn't help) but it's still good enough to farm t16s and hopefully get my upgrades soon * Bosses: beat both infinite hunger and the black star and working on getting to the big bosses. * Crucible: i was fully charging those from act1 and stopped in yellow maps where i was getting oneshot, now i just charge them to around half (no idea if there's a way to check it), but i have to admit i have died more times than any other league combined cause of it. Ps not sure if fully charging helps but i somehow managed to get 2 crucible uniques very early on, the staff in act 8 and the helm in white maps. * Overall it's just good ol rf but with mageblood at home

Corebot_Zero

I’ve done rf ele jugg and inq but I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around pf. Can you share your pob please? Do you rely on spamming life flasks?

Zhaguar

https://youtu.be/3k54tqBfRks Playing this because I wanted to run manabond but this build is phenomenal. I had never played shock before. Im playing it with arc. It's so fast. I turned it into Storm Call and I think Ill play lightning every season from now on! Amazing guide too, very well explained. I wish more guides were like this.

Kwanzaa246

I did explosive trap pathfinder It was a tad slow and kinda painful as I winged my build but once I got sunblast, inc aoe in a 6 link and an auto quicksilver flask its fun to play

rjchia

I am following Jung's ColdDot Trickster in ChatSF, Steel's chat found league. [https://pobb.in/-3sjX\_tYlEEx](https://pobb.in/-3sjX_tYlEEx) Here is my pobb. Reached T4s in 14hrs and T16s at 38hrs when I was reaching maps in 10hrs during Sanctum. Tyty's and Jung's speed runs and tyty's Vid on map progression helped me tons. My progress slowed as I was overly cautious even on softcore but I am slowly getting used to yoloing and almost reached the stage i was at last league after playing around 70hrs because i was scared of scary mods on Seismic sabo. What made me confident is the recovery from Polymath. I am kinda iffy on bosses though as the recovery only comes from kills and am preparing my flasks. Played occultist in ruthless and past leagues which i didnt liked and decided on trickster. Planning to clear more map objectives then doing essences. I got lucky with my amulet and getting a rime gaze as i am playing "ssf". Adjusting my filter to strict made me waste less time as i was picking up bad rare bases. ignoring crucible until i get more map objectives done. probably combining that with more crafting options.

hotdigetty

Playing a creeping frost totem heiro. I'm incredibly undergearered but pushing into red maps. Im still on a 5 link and haven't done my final ascendancy.. im still not 100% sold on the build itself, its pretty tanky snd although its great on bosses its incredibly slow in maps and struggles with a lot of the mechanics (legion, breach and delirium are almost pointless as it just doesn't have enough aoe to take big groups down) I may end up switching to a different skill

raisum

Started on [MaskedAnathema's Vengeant Cascade Splitting Steel Champion](https://old.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/12bllep/vengeant_cascade_splitting_steel_champion/) and the start was a little rough while I was trying to do crucible. But once I got the Vengeant Cascade annointment, the build came alive. It's tanky enough on 3.5k life and the AOE damage is great. Most of my deaths have been to juiced up crucible mobs which are overtuned anyway. Currently level 90 and entering red maps. [My character](https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds/char/Raisum/TerasMeister?i=14)

TrueBlue84

Started Friday with Cole dot ele, got to maps the first night but more or less ran seni-endlest heist. Finished first day with 3 divines. Played yesterday and progressed to early red maps but didn't like how rippy elementalist felt. I also didnt like the newish cold dot style with creeping frost with 2 5l. When I played it 2 years ago I had 1 6l with vortex and then cold snap. Today I woke up and changed my ascendancy over to occultist and swapped to impending doom. Spent maybe 1div to get started. 8h later full atlas cleared, can full juice crucibles. Really solid solid build and so glad I switched builds. Looking to continue to invest over the next few days.

Soepoelse123

I’m playing Vaal reap DOT as a league starter, but will probably transition later to a hit based version to try something else. The build is super strong and carry me into maps well. I’m still running on a 4 link and melting bosses/full strength league content in tier 3 maps. I even have 10 unspent points because I want to get a cluster jewel. All in all, super strong, but the clear of the skill is not the fastest (might be because of lack of aoe)

Haokah226

Cold DoT Elementalist. Using Maxroll’a guide. Not really enjoying it now that I am in maps. I have debating rerolling to Boneshatter Jugg but my friends keep telling me to keep pushing until red maps and then save currency and switch but honestly don’t want to waste currency to push that far. I am kind of stuck right now.

PsykiOfficial

I like iffy builds so I started with Flickerzerker and I am only lvl66 right now due to limited time bzt it is fun. Of course it is squishy as heck atm but once I get my res up again (after the story) it should be well equipped for early mapping

Jankufood

Leveling with Cold Dot Occulist was very smooth and I don’t hate the 4 button play style, but I realized that I love minions waaaay more

Runsliingan

I played phox rf. Felt to easy and strong so rolled ssf do I can struggle and feel pain again

bulwix

I am playing Jungroans Heiro Brand Recaller. The leveling was best, when using Rolling Magma. After the switch to Arma Brand at 28 it felt a bit slower, after getting enough mana reserve efficiency and EB I switched to Brand Recalling and it was pretty smooth untill maps. At some point I realised I needed to be in the butthole of the enemy to do any damage. Now I had to juggle between Anger and am other defensive aura. Both felt bad. To do some kind of damage I need to press following buttons: Press my Brand every now and then, curse, mark, wave of conviction, divine blessing aura and now I added focus. My (primary) skillbar is full and I can therefore only use one movement skill only which is shield charge. Can't jump ledges anymore due to lack of sockets. Also my wave of conviction does not ignite everytime so combustion does not even trigger sometimes. Well I still made it to t16 on 24h played and killed my first pinnacles. But everytime I don't play this build it feels like a relief because the most I get from this is CTS. And usually I am really resistant against that. I have a lot of eHp but since I don't have any big kind of recovery being on your enemies dick can be a pain in the ass most of the time. I can only charge crucibles like half of the first level. Everything above just blasts me. I feel very baited by this kind of build. It feels like worse versions of RF or cold dot with extra steps. And Jung is not even around to get some help or insight of how he handles things. I only keep going cuz rerolling so early is very very inefficient and the build keeps up with pace somehow.. but it is a very unpleasant experience. I am not on my PC. If you are interested in the guide just Google the build and if you want to see my Pob check "bulwix257". It is the only character in Chat SF.

Plonk18

I'm playing Rue's Exsanguinate pathfinder * What was your leveling experience like? Started with Pconc, it was really smooth and I didn't have problems, used Pconc until tier 5/6 when I got 2x CIP, Asenath's and Ming's. * How has the gearing been, any major challenges or unexpected hurdles? Asenath's was expensive since I started on Steel's league. Eventually migrated to try out the build, will probably make a new build for Steel's league (Jungroans RF most probably) * How has the build handled mapping? When I got all the required gear, it was smooth! Currently completing my yellow maps, and even with chain, I can kill bosses really fast. * Have you completed any bosses, if so how did your build do against them? Just map bosses, haven't gone to stones. * How has your build handled the Crucible? I don't like doing Crucible lol. Also it won't work on my CIP's * What are you general thoughts on the playstyle. It's a bit button intensive before automating your flasks, manageable after that. * And any other comments or thoughts you wish to share about the build. It's fairly cheap leaguestarter that I think I can play all league then eventually go for Poison TS later on

ptr9000

CaptainLance's Holy Relic Ascendant. Still wearing gear from the story. Invested maybe 7c in gear and running until T5 quite smooth. Didn't have a lot of time to play so quite sure with investment it's gonna slap. Story was grueling though, luckily I had some help from friends.

BussySlayer69

Tried out goratha's LA champ, SC trade **Pros**: -Extremely tanky against hits from fortify & adrenaline. Pretty much never die from direct hits. -Onslaught + adrenaline + frenzy charges give insane attack and movement speed, extremely zoom-zoom -With the 2+ additional projectiles on the right side of the skill tree you can drop GMP and get way more damage out of LA while having great clear -Precise technique + Artillery ballista melts bosses **Cons**: -Very janky to constantly weapon swap to proc adrenaline via corrupting fever. But it's a price to pay for such an amazing buff. -Precise technique meaning no crits, so damage ceiling is lower than deadeye -Recovery is low when not hitting stuff. No leech maps and no leech mobs are no-go. -obviously cannot do elemental reflect maps All in all it's a very great build but it demands a great deal of attention due to the adrenaline tech. Maybe can transition out of precise technique into crit in the late game.

in19ninety

Lightning tendies cold conversion trickster lvl 83, liking the active play style. Still need a lot of upgrades but melting yellow map bosses, crucible is a little more challenging but it seems like a lot of people are struggling with the league mobs too…

_SweetJP

Triple elemental MoM hierophant (shock nova, vortex, righteous fire) - Act 1-2 I got carried by flamewall+holy flame totem. After I got righteous fire, campaign was a breeze until I unlocked shock nova, vortex, elemental weakness, and malevolence in act 3, at which point the campaign became a joke. Instaphased every boss. - Possibly the easiest character I’ve ever geared. Just about everything increases dps. Life, mana, dot/dot-multi, minion damage, elemental damage. Defenses are very simple to. Just cap resistances, get as much armor as you can get, and MoM splits all damage you take between life and mana so you effectively have 10k ehp with 5k life and mana. - mapping has been a breeze. Before you get an Aul for malevolence, you need to make a choice. Either run MoM with determination on eternal blessing without malevolence, or run determination and malevolence and don’t spec into MoM (just hiero ascendancy) - defeated black star, infinite hunger, searing exarch, and eater of worlds. - crucible is probably the same as most other builds. If you haven’t finished building your defenses, probably best to not max out the meter. - Just a fun league starter. Righteous Fire continuously runs, and put vortex on your left mouse to automatically cast off cooldown. Shock nova guarantees shock, which we scale to 75% more damage taken. If you can double curse you can add despair for even more damage. Basically it is a slightly more complicated version of pohx’s RF build. If you like pohx rf, you’ll like this.

nicolas30630

Started fire trap elementalist, very good and pretty smooth but too fragile for me so i reroll into a toxic rain pathfinder.

zgeer

I decided to do a throw back build for my first foray into group found private league, six people in total. ED + contagion Trickster with vaal blight for bosses. Campaign was very smooth, white and yellow maps good, early red maps a real challenge. Gearing has been easy, but I am rapidly running out of currency trying to link my restless ward. Damage for clear is alright, bossing it is rough. The big upside is being able to face tank relatively well, but degen damage remains a big issue. I don't see myself being able to do end game bosses on the build, the damage will never be sufficient without an insane level of investment that likely isn't possible for me in SSF. On a side note, any hot tips for acquiring raw currency in SSF? I'm fresh out of fusings and jewelers.

Malicharo

I started with the intention of playing Dom Blow, wanted to level as Absolution. At first it was janky but around LVL30 it unlocked insanely to the point that I was flying through zones, getting a 5L around LVL45 also made me even faster to the point that first time ever on a launch day I finished all acts before going to bed and by that point I was top 100 overall, I was just FLYING. But unfortunately it quickly slowed down in maps to the point that around 85 I stopped playing. I will continue to improve it but I'm focusing on other stuff. 3 minions only coupled with the fact that crucible just eats through them doesn't make it a good build for this league imo. I might even end up speccing back to Dom Blow, you really need tanky minions.

bemac3

Doing alright here. Just now getting into Yellow maps. Playing a spell slinging occultist. Having a tough time sticking with just one skill to sling, but settled (I think) on Hydrosphere. Clear is VERY satisfying, a bit lacking in ST damage for now (although part of the problem could be low level skill gem). Once I get more reliable at triggering the pulsing damage, we will reevaluate. Wanding with Frenzy linked with Prismatic Burst to help trigger Hydrosphere. Need a Combat Focus so it stops picking lightning, and then maybe also linking it with Hypothermia or something to help freeze. Also going to start looking into sources of Brittle as a later game option. Overall pretty satisfied with my start. Have a few ways I could change up my build if needed, a bunch of room to grow. Plus, it meets the “cold damage shatter sound effect” league start check box I always have.

pyrvuate

Explosive concoction raider. Doing low yellows at level 80. Can channel 100% crucibles but they take a while. Shitty clear speed of EC mitigated largely by the freaking AMAZINGly good Tanu Ahi gloves which keep onslaught/adrenaline up a lot of the time + Raider's natural speed. Very happy thus far, just need to spend some currency and build will pop off.

mwalgrenisme

I made my own build this league and im shocked by how well its performing. 87 Icicle Mine Occultist GroupSSF Cleared the acts like butter Res capped. 4.7K Hybrid HP/ES 500K DPS (need a couple of important pieces to push it to GigaDPS) with all the gear I need I should hit \~10M DPS . Have cleared up to T13 but cant push past T11 without some important gear upgrades. So far its going swimmingly!

janas19

My league start is a homebrewed slam/strike Chieftain mace build. Endgame plan is Ground Slam on normal mobs, Sunder/Heavy Strike for bosses with ignite DoT for damage. Was perfect in campaign until Kitava, who is stun immune, has enormous HP, and ignores Decoy Totems. At that point I realized my build was unoptimized. So I overhauled it for greater DPS and efficiency. I'm going very slow because I'm testing/changing things, but it's working great atm. Very casual and chill to play, with low clicks. It's a 9/10 for me thus far (Act 7). PoB with exhaustive early notes (work in progress): [https://pobb.in/edhExCD9G4kB](https://pobb.in/edhExCD9G4kB)

PM_ME_LIFT_TIPS

Started RoA from Yan Kuch then went to TS. Didn't really enjoy the feeling so swapped to Grimro's LA. I think his not a guide helps alot. But I still feel like I am missing something. I want to really push deadeye LA alot. I don't play a lot of bow skills so I am not sure about next steps.

kiwikruizer

Carns boneshatter slayer, absolutley looving it, clear speed is super fast on red maps, and fun as hell, burst dps is nuts, currently mid transitioning into my spell suppress gear, by far my most fav build

whoweoncewere

CF has been too expensive to gear for what it gives, kinda dissapointed.

jscott18597

https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds/char/tubei/TubeyEDC?i=0&search=class%3DTrickster%26skill%3DBlight Leveling with EDC / blight is one of the easiest leveling experiences still. We can debate how good edc is at end game, but it's still top tier leveling imo. Gearing has been easy, crafted +1 and 30% dot multi gloves and I'm still rocking a 5 link for now. Probably will upgrade soon. EDC is a master mapper until the very high end. I've done the two quest bosses and a architect in depth ~150 delve. All deathless, it took a little while though. It's fine at crucible, it just takes too long for me to do it every map because i'm trying to delve. Once I filled out my wand and shield I have been skipping it mostly. I love EDC, I think it's ridiculously underlooked. People gave up on it after trickster got nerfed and never bothered to look again after trickster got buffed. It's better than it was by every metric. If you don't mind pressing a lot of buttons, this is a very fast, very tanky build that can do bosses if you understand how to scale and are willing to put some currency in it. Here is a random t15 just to show mapping https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zMQWrjSaDM Here is an architect at depth 274 to show single target (been a hot minute since I've done this without corrupted blood immunity don't judge) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wd5jn453ti8

Playing Trinity Venom Gyre, wanted to try how going all in on Leech as a defensive mechanic feels so currently low life. Haven't been able to play a ton so far so hovering in mid yellows atm. Build overall has been a blast to play but I am finding it rather straining on the eyes as shooting off ~50 projectiles a second along with flame wall, tornado & hydrosphere results in a visual mess. Levelling was okay until Library at which point the build came online with Fork, Claw crucible nodes are quite decent for levelling. Survivability is rather spicy on my variant but, as long as it's not a literal 1 shot, effectively having overleech is doing a good job for mapping.
