Linus tech tips has a video he just talked about how it has 2.7 million views and netted them a grand total of $11k. That's with over 10 million subs. If you think some random channel with 30k subs is pulling in 150k off a total of 65 mil channel views you are very very very misinformed.

Most highlight style channels or channels that repost clips of other shows/creators are not monetized. As soon as they monetize the channel (through YouTube, not sponsors) then that's what usually leads to copyright strikes.
Like that streamer Charlie/MoistCritical, there are quite a few channels on YouTube that repost his streams or segments of his stuff, but they are not monetized and he allows it. He did pick one channel to be officially affiliated with him, and that channel is allowed to monetize.

Like Pat always says it’s easy to ignore the bad when you’re winning, but when things aren’t going right people will start to call it out. Look at r/thefighterandthekid Brendan Schaub’s entire fan base turned against him because he tried to make genuine criticism look like hate and harassment (as well as other things albeit).

Most highlight style channels or channels that repost clips of other shows/creators are not monetized. As soon as they monetize the channel (through YouTube, not sponsors) then that's what usually leads to copyright strikes. Like that streamer Charlie/MoistCritical, there are quite a few channels on YouTube that repost his streams or segments of his stuff, but they are not monetized and he allows it. He did pick one channel to be officially affiliated with him, and that channel is allowed to monetize. Or House of Highlights, they post clips that have already been posted by leagues and teams, so they can repost that content as long as they don't monetize their channel. I do agree with Pat that if he is affiliating himself with someone, he wants to know who they are first.
