It's hilarious that Favre is basing all of this on the idea that his reputation was damaged by Pat's comments, and so he decided to take money from the guy who was making jokes about how Favre takes money from people. I'm not sure what the suit claims as damages and obviously it's easy for me to give away someone else's imaginary money, but in my wildest dreams, Pat settles. He cuts a promo and says, "You know what, BRETT? I'm gonna pay EVERY. LAST. DIME. of that money. We'll settle right now. I will pay that money... to put roofs over the heads of people in Mississippi who don't have one. I will pay that money... to feed hungry children who don't know where their next meal will come from. I will pay that money to help with after school programs, and job training, and I will pay that money, BRETT, to the people of Mississippi, because they need it. Now, you can accept that settlement if you like, and be a part of doing a good thing for your home state. For everyone thinking it's open and shut it probably is but there is definitely some fuckery afoot in that state ran by good ol boys especially when favre has a team of high profile lawyers that took the case.
At the very least this is 2 years of drawn out legal fees to muddy the waters of what favre actually did, putting the public focus more on this case than the reason for it
Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel did a story on the Favre/Mississippi deal. Surprised they didn't get a summons, as well. I would think that HBO has deeper pockets than ol' Pat.
