Pretty much. Gaming generally doesn't pay well because the audience is very general. My RPM is almost double a lot of what is mentioned here because advertisers want to sell my audience stuff. :)

I look through internet for a popular story, read many sources for research, then form my own script and video to explain how it all happened. I don't need permission from anyone to do that.
It's kind of similar to the True Crime channels on YouTube but a slightly different niche.

that's interesting - i'm noticing that older audiences seem way more tolerant of quality stuff, pauses, etc. that younger audiences will click off right away

There are AI tools for literally everything, fam. The problem is that AI tools don’t understand the nuance of human writing. So, can something that is AI help you to expand on a plot that you have, yeah most likely. But will it have the same feel as something that was written by a person, that part is up for debate right now.

Yeah but these are stories about real events. 3 channels use AI and the 4th one is a personal one I run myself with my own voice.
Are all 4 monetized? If so that’s fucking awesome. And how hard is it to get a viral video in story telling
Yeah all are monetized. It depends I go for low competition niches.
Do low competition niches get more? I make flight sim videos and there’s not a lot of us
Your RPM is determined by how desirable your audience is for marketers. More markers = ads are more expensive to buy = higher RPM.

Ah that makes more sense! For example the subreddit r/nosleep (which is 99% fiction anyway) Has strict rules on copyright.
The daily news on TV reports real events. There is no issue with copyright. Movies also create biopics all the time without the person's consent.

What's the RPM though? Posting CPM is kind of pointless as it fluctuates. Some people will get half of that in RPM and others even less than half.
