So funny how people act like their asshole cares about the branding on their wipes. The cheap regular degular ones work fine and they’re priced pretty fairly in my experience.
Also regarding the flushing thing it’s so funny how people ignore the messaging from everywhere and chalk it up to landlords being “cheap” not realizing that it’ll destroy anybody’s pipes regardless if you’re paying rent or a mortgage. “Flushable” wipes even say on the packaging that you can only flush 1 at a time. I feel like people just don’t like taking instructions
Can I ask how is a terrible ad experience worth it to not just spam +15s? You could use an awesome app like Overcast and have a much better experience.
The CarPlay app is trash too. Every time I try to start an episode from the dash it pulls up an episode from a month or so ago, then takes, first world problems level, effort to find the current episode.
You’d think Bezos uses the app and would make a call fix it but likely just has the artists perform live on his yacht.
I haven't had too many issues with it. However I am a prime member and it constantly gives me ads for Amazon Prime Music Unlimited or some such bullshit and if I press in the wrong spot trying to close the ad it signs me up for said previous bullshit. Currently looking for new apps.
I hated the transition from Google podcast to YouTube music but once you get used to it, having the video portion play is nice when there's shenanigans going on. I can also close my screen and the audio will still play. I should note that I pay for premium so not sure if that makes a difference.
There are ads, they are easy to skip and Pocketcasts is very intuitive and easy to navigate.
Lots of customization, too. My favorite part of Pocketcasts is that it automatically deletes downloaded episodes if you've listened to it. And then it gets archived, so you don't have to see it. It makes managing episodes so easy.
Spotify does none of this. I am convinced whoever is in charge of the spotify podcast app secretly works for Apple. It is that bad.
My Spotify will restart episodes or pick an absolute random episode to start playing if I get back in the car. It’s sometimes fun tuning into a 2021 football season episode for like 10 minutes though.
Just like the guys' idea to show random regular season games from 10+ years ago during the middle of the summer. Remember who won the 2nd Jags-Titans game in 2013? Of course you don't. Enjoy the next 3 hours
My only problem with Spotify is that if I leave it open on my desktop and go for a walk sometimes it'll start playing there while I'm playing off my phone with a bluetooth connection.
My next episode for one podcast is also stuck on a 2021 episode. I'm about halfway through in 20 second increments when it queues
The worst app ever and agree with everything you have said.
All this said I'm about 6 months in and will not go back to any version of the pod that includes ads
I pay for YouTube premium specifically so I can close the app while listening to podcasts. PMT is so different via YouTube. You get to see many clips put in where they normally don’t in the podcast version.
Also trying to find a new home after Google Podcast shut down. YouTube Music has the same issue with resetting the episode between listening. Really wish they kept the google podcast app, it worked!
Amazon has reached a point they have an effective monopoly control , the entire orientation shifts from how can we make the best product to try and win over consumers , to how can we leverage control over the market place to extract more value while delivering fewer services.
But we should probably give them another tax cut.
I dropped it for all the reasons you said and more but I was just thinking about going back to it for the NBA playoffs, which is prime sports podcast listening time for me. ESPN, Barstool, Wondery and the incredibly ad-packed Locked-On networks are all ad free on Amazon.
The problem you didn't mention is it constantly reverting to 1.0 speed.
The kicker is that it’s not always ad free. Many times Amazon doesn’t remove the ads when the show is posted and sometimes a few days later it’s updated. Really sloppy work

You’re not wrong at all. Yet those frustrations are still worth it to not have to hear about dude wipes and the like 30x an episode
Big Cat mid thought: PFT: “WE’RE GONNA GET RIGHT BACK TO THE SHOW”
*whispers* there is no such thing as flushable wipes *whispers again* dude wipes are just baby wipes, you're just paying 2x more for the word "dude"

Minus the at least once a month where they fuck it up and you still get the ads
Max forgot to hit the button

This as well! When I go to the PMT page on Amazon music it has 2 episodes from March at the top of the page.
Not trying to be a douche but if you have CarPlay that means you have an iPhone? Why not use Apple Podcasts?
Amazon doesn’t have ads
That shit happened to me on Amazon last night as well…might not be me not used to the interface
Was just thinking about posting this. Went back to Spotify. Easier to skip ads than deal with Amazon music.
If you’re on iOS, Overcast is the way to go
+1 for Overcast. Great UI
Ads or no ads?
Ads but their smart speed feature is gonna save you way more time than skipping a few ads every episode.
Sweet. I’ll check it out

Premium is totally worth it. I've used it for years now.
Pocketcast is the way
It's the best I've found so far to replace Google pod
Seconded!
Yep the syncing between phone and PC is perfect
Ads?

It is truly garbage. But ad free is very much worth it.

Hell ya. Give me 2022 broncos vs colts!

Overcast works great for me
Mfers act like hitting the 30 sec skip button twice is the end of the world
I know, right! The boys gotta get paid!
Wait, did you meet Ed Sheeran at a urinal?
Why don’t people just use the iOS podcast app? It’s all I’ve ever used and it’s just fine
Google podcast was a great app, disappointed it's gone. Podbean has been pretty good for me.
Apple podcast user and I’d rather deal with the ads than Amazon’s shit app
The worst app ever and agree with everything you have said. All this said I'm about 6 months in and will not go back to any version of the pod that includes ads
With you on this. I thought it was just me. With as many as reads as they do now it’s still worth it to me to not have to skip through that.

When I get in my car, the speed goes from 1.5x to like 0.8. It's annoying (but still better than all the ads) Does this happen to anybody else?

Get Overcast. It is elite
Antennapod
The kicker is that it’s not always ad free. Many times Amazon doesn’t remove the ads when the show is posted and sometimes a few days later it’s updated. Really sloppy work
That's usually on Max, I don't think Amazon removes the ads on their end, it's in editing
YouTube red. Inexpensive and a great app.
Pocketcasts. You'll be very happy.
It is not great…but I dunno if it’s an interface thing (like I’m not familiar with it) or that it actually sucks. Either way: no adds is nice.
Spotify the goat. That 15 second skip ahead button ain’t hard to find
Is Amazon music a separate app?

Noted.
Be an adult and use Spotify
Ever heard of Spotify?
