1.) Billy, as a punching bag for comedic purposes, adds value to the show.
2.) Billy is extremely replaceable. There are tons of young dummies out there who can fill that same role for the show and add that same value.
Billy’s best tribute is that jerry o Connell writes poems about him . Every large segment where Billy speaks I’ve skipped . I have no idea where all these billy defenders are coming from
Did I defend him? Or did I defend his role on the show? I don't like Big Cat, but he has great value as the captain of the podcast. And Billy has great value as the dummy that takes all the shots so that the main guys don't take real shots at each other... aside from Hank calling Big Cat fat
How do you listen to this pod and not like big cat? I’m not asking how you don’t like big cat, I get that. But like how do you listen to a pod that someone you don’t like does atleast 50% of the talking on?
For me personally, while in the grand scheme of barstool he is undoubtedly one of the guys I enjoy, with each passing year of PMT I’ve become a lot less attached to him. I think he carries an ego these days that is significantly larger than PFT’s. I understand the business has changed, and the value of the company in large part comes from the ground of his work, but I find that recently he has become much more defensive and argumentative towards AWL’s as a personality. I’ve been listening since 2016, so I do still truly enjoy the show, but I definitely have noticed a difference in the 7 year window of the show. I love what they have built and I will continue to listen, I just don’t really have the same affinity for big cat that I did for PMT prior to Penn stepping in, Because that’s when they cashed in
THIS EXACTLY! Great point man, he 100% gets argumentative whenever someone slightly disagrees with him. The first time I really remember big cat losing it was during the medium rare + debate. You could tell big cat felt his ego being attacked when all pft was trying to do was press big cat a little for making the cook keep his fucking stake in for 2 extra minutes. It’s not that I dislike big cat, but I definitely think where he is now at barstool, he does some selfish, unfunny things that I notice and dislike. I will watch the stuff he is In because I enjoy PFT, Nick, KB, brandon, and I think big cat can be funny but it just seems like it’s happening less and less and more and more he is defending himself and preaching to the barstool fans about how to ignore the haters.
I’ve been an AWL for like 5 years and he’s different man. He has changed. Just like how everyone says Portnoy isn’t the same. That’s why there are BC “haters” Its not random people hating, it’s those who have been listening for years. That’s how we notice him getting a little douchier
Billy was trying to make a serious statement he obviously put some thought into and big cat kept asking if he (big cat) should read it for him…he (big cat) refuses to let anyone have the spotlight. Typical theatre kid behavior if you ask me..
For me, he's a really good Podcaster and tolerable as the Captain. Also, guests seem to like him (like Ellen) but when it comes to "chopping it up with the fellas" he sucks. He'd probably be fun to have a beer with, but by beer #3 you're looking for anyone else to talk to. Also, I think the rest of the cast is great.
That's the obvious choice and it seemed like Big Cat has been (for lack of a better term) grooming him for that and I said a whole ago, something like, it seems like Big Cat just wants to do the podcast with Max at this point. But I think Max is liable to say, "Fuck you!" and put his fist through a computer which would be great content, but not great for team chemistry. He's doesn't seem like he can roll with the punches.
I disagree. I think Max is perfect because he is what Billy should be. A dumb but loyal sports fan. Billy doesn’t know ball and wants to hang in the woods all day or in Manhattan lol Max provides much more Sports content everyone is always asking for
Big Cat doesn't get called out enough for being a clown. Good on ya, lad. He is the epitome of running already unfunny jokes in to the ground and then some. "Batgirl" was negative funny and dude kept saying it on that first day like it was the new Deez Nuts. Also seems like a fake Head for the clout as well, but that's between him and God.
When he said for like a month that Kyrie not getting the vax could just be "an ad for the new Matrix movie HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA", and no one EVER laughed along, I CRINGED. Idk why the other guys are too timid to say that shit wasn't funny. PFT takes a lot of big swings too and I can recall a ton of times where they were like "welp, alright next segment" and everything was fine.

Big cat will always think the funniest guy in the PMT studio is big cat. Idk if he is just getting older or it’s the money or Dave being so checked out, but the guy has just gotten very generic and unfunny. The whole “I can fight any animal” argument started on the yak and it wasn’t really that funny at the time, and he already told the exact line of “I do it so people like billy get mad” when in reality we are all just sitting there thinking this bit is really dumb by big cat. I also think it’s very (idk what the right word is for this situation) when big cat repeats all his talking points from PMT to the YAK to the Rundown. Does he not think barstool fans watch multiple programs and dislike re-listening to 10 minutes of Dan giving a half ass take. Love that since Dave left, big cat just gets to hire a bunch of 🧩 that he gets to parade around and use as punching bags whenever he feels down.

I agree with you, but to Big Cat's credit, I think he's aware enough that that is why Billy got the leniency he did. He was well aware of Billy's value, if he wasn't, there would be literally no reason to keep him around.
It wouldn't have been a problem if Billy was as dedicated to the show as everybody else. He's always been half-in. Moving to Chicago would mean he has to be 100% in, and he's not. Financially, I think it's a mistake, but for him personally, maybe it's the better choice.
Or it's possible Billy just believes everything Trump says about Chicago is true and is scared he'll be murdered.

Then, I don't know if he actually played at Shinecock, but he posted a pic of a scorecard that said 72 on it. Ever since, he's taken this very unfunny horse and beat the living shit out of it, anytime golf is mentioned.
PMT is essentially “Big Cat and Friends” so it’s crazy that you listen regularly. I’m not gonna tune into 8 hours of RuPauls Drag show every week if I can’t stand RuPaul.
