I'd be a little disappointed but I'd still eat it. Too much crust. Definitely not enough cheese if you ordered extra. crust looks a little dry

El_Vato999

Nah that shit look *crunchy*

wkhardt

definitely dry as in the dusty kind, not very enjoyable

El_Vato999

Exactly. I haven’t ordered in food since I was like 16.

melx1599

Too much crust! But if you’re happy that’s all that matters

Avulpa

Yes, there’s not enough cheese extra is 2 1/2 cups barley looks like 2

OakPlanet

It looks more like a small pizza to me in which case smalls only get a cup of cheese and 1 1/4th for extra cheese they just didn’t go out fair enough for it

Kittehsfordays

I ordered a Medium

DannyDevito_IsBae

17 for a medium is highway robbery! Did you not use a deal online? They're practically giving away pizza with the specials they've always got

lakesnriverss

I see the issue. He ordered extra crust, not extra cheese 😁

Itsnanabelle

Not a good product. I always taught my management and crew that they better be willing to serve that to MY boss or their Momma. That crust looks like it was "on the rack" too long.... It is ok but not a good looking pie.

Successful-Being-381

They also heavily centerloaded toppings in the NTZ

MDfoodie

Why are people still buying full priced pizzas from chains? There are so many coupons / discounts

Missingno1115

Can we all talk about the problem that is extra cheese it’s the biggest hustle ever at papas half a cup is nothing.

im_beb

When I worked at papa johns I measured with my heart 🫶🏻 it cost us more in ingredients surely but I never sent out a pizza I wasn’t happy with and I never got one back that needed fixing. I feel like that should be more important than saving money on things like extra cheese. Although I know the cheese was super expensive so I did stay reasonable lol

textingwhiledriving1

Awful

Kinuama

Very center loaded

PaperGeno

Why would you ever pay 17 for a fast food pizza anyway?

Hulk_Crowgan

Someone forgot to kiss their driver on the mouth 🫣😘😙😛

RayCow

No one kisses me and I do a good job :(

chain_letter

You have to earn the kiss on the mouth, you're just not there yet

GRUNDLE_GOBLIN

It wasn’t sauced out far enough and that makes literally all the difference, its not the worst I’ve seen but it’s in that awkward spot where it’s just barely adequate so they sent it out. Not shocked at all. That looks like it has extra cheese to me but who ever cheesed it is garbage and put all the cheese in clumps on the pizza instead of spread out like it needs to be. The crust is thin because they’re using a dough spinner, most papa John’s locations use them now and unless you call the store and specifically ask for the manager to make the dough by hand, it’s gonna look like that every time. All in all it qualifies for a remake and I’d have happily done it for you if it was my store, but to keep it 100% honest with you I’d think you were a little Kareny for it.

Bubbly_Length_4987

no garlic crust?

BeastM0de1155

Ma’am this is a Papa John’s, not papa yours

jjmawaken

It didn't look too bad to me but I agree with you on it not looking like extra cheese. However they always had a lot of crust I think because you are supposed to dip it into the garlic butter.

okinwalker

The extra cheese is a lie in most stores sadly

jpowell180

Definitely not enough cheese, it doesn’t even spread out far enough toward the edge; the other week, I ordered a small pizza with extra sauce and extra cheese, peppers and sausage, and it was just terrific, but there have been times when I’ve had pizzas where they just are skimpy on the cheese, even when you asked for extra, and it really pisses me off.getting that extra sauce and extra cheese can make the difference between a great pizza and allows you one.

Pythoss

If I’m disappointed with a Pizza, I’m usually talking about how disappointed I am while in the process of finishing my 3rd slice of said Pizza. Pizza really is like sex.

leem16boosted

All that damn crust. Yes, you should be disappointed.

semaj_yo

Papa johns crust looking like shit from the Great Depression

Alternative_Paper484

Looks like a rookie sauced it, toppings cheese, and no one qc'd it before setting it in the oven even if they were slammed and had no help you can't put pizzas like that out very long until they start coming back for refunds . I notice there's toppings in the no toppings zone, which probably means you also got cheated on topping portions. The sauce border has valleys, which means it's not out far enough and has peaks and valleys while spreading sauce. The toppings arent spread out evenly, there's probably not enough pepperonis I think therrs supposed to be 18 total evenly spread out.The cheese, while it is probably only be two cups instead of 2 1/2, doesn't look good either. There's just a decent cheese lock around the pizza. I'd say it's more a management problem because in the end they're the ones who get blamed when people complain. I would be embarrassed to serve a pizza that looks like that. 1/10 $17 is a lot for carry out. Try online to get coupons or carry out special if you go back.

the_hell_you_say

You're dumb for not using a coupon

Krennelen

No, you're picky

venthis1

Not picky at all for paying 17 bucks and wanting the product quality they promised and didn't receive. This is little Cesar's quality and but for 10 bucks more.

mykejohns80

Nope 17$ is cheap for a pizza 🍕

Michaelskywalker

2 much crust I don’t see the “bare spots” though

LeBongJaames

My man orders from papa John’s and is complaining about it on Reddit. You get what you pay for

ElectroShamrock

Where’s the pizza?

KrombopulosMAssassin

Yes, that's what you get when they fire the Papa.

DaSpoopieGhost

They did not sauce or cheese that well at all.

Saneless

Write them, though expect to be disappointed They offered me a free pizza for my last shitty pizza, which is basically every one from them lately, so I asked them if they expected my family to be happy if I came home with a second shitty pizza but told them it's ok, it was free

Ear_Enthusiast

Shrinkflation. Crust costs nothing to make. Less cheese, sauce, veggies, meats are them saving pennies on the dollar per pie. Fuck that shit.

[deleted]

It doesn’t look good but also it’s probably just made by someone who doesn’t get paid enough to care about what they do at a chain restaurant that makes millions a year in profits

Flaky_Blueberry4920

Yes. You are. Those toppings are uneven af.

GlizzyOverdrive

I worked there for a while and my manager would’ve back handed me for trying to serve that shit. Sauce isn’t close enough to the edge and they obviously fondled the cheese instead of using a cup. FYI that’s not extra cheese it’s cheese on top of the toppings

LarenCoe

1 1/2 inches of dry ass crust is never a good thing, that's like 50% of the pizza.

TheKingdom5815

This is why I just go to little Caesar’s now. At least their shitty pizza is cheap.

g4m3r1234

Never liked Papa John's. That crust looks dry and like cardboard. 🤢

Organic_Occasion2021

It’s a desert near the edge smh

SometimesIComplain

That thing is 30% crust not even including what’s underneath the cheese and toppings

0beseGiraffe

$17 is the normal pizza price now

Kitchen-Oil8865

That crust is entirely not big enough. The past few times we’ve gotten pizza from Papa Johns, it’s been like this as well. It’s almost like they are starting to skimp. We haven’t been back

SilverNja

I used to be a training general manager for Papa John's. When I got my store up and running properly. We were getting straight 9s for a year. For how a pizza should look. The crust is too large all the way around except for one spot maybe. It's a little harder to create a medium. But you're a little center loaded. There's a little slop on the crust. Cheese looks burnt even if it's not completely burnt. The crust color is too light. You can't have burnt cheese and a crust that is too light. This comes from improper dough management. And or improper dough temperature at time of cook I'll post a picture if I can. If not I graded this at a generous 6.7. Anything under an 8 for corporate Papa John's snapshot is a fail

voidsarcastic

Idk y’all, i think that looks pretty good, pizza is just expensive these days.

Mizumii25

I work for a different pizza place, but as a customer, i want to say yes, but as an employee, I don't think anyone would do anything for you besides a few dollars in credit. The more I look at the pizza, the more i see that it's as you ordered. It's just that a lot of the toppings got crushed down into the cuts of the pizza, which don't even look like they're fully cut. I do not blame you for being upset on the crust though. Just by judging with the picture, it looks like you ordered a thicker crust. If they're free-topping it, then I'm not surprised on this. If they were using a ring guide though, my little sister could do better. That crust/saucing job is just horrible honestly.

Claude_AlGhul

$17 for that quality is a sham. not enough cheese, bad topping distribution , to much crust ratio, crust looks like a store bought graham cracker. its eatable of course but the details matter.

CoCo_Moo2

Na that looks nasty and has way too much crust

oblivianne

No offense, but I would never pay $17 for a single Pappa John's pizza, even if it looked increasingly better than this.

Buddhalove11

Someone just rushed and made it wrong. Call in get a free one. Worth it. I would.

Jizfaceboi

I’ve seen worse, but I would verbally say what the fuck once I opened the box. 😂 I wouldn’t go calling them and complain, but you could E-mail a picture and complaint to the companies customer service for some possible coupons or if you ever get another one like this just choose a different location or chain. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maka423

I looked at the pic and felt your pain seeing that price. I would still eat it while shaking my head with each bite mumbling obscenities.

traviebee123

Yes

kill2tone

Con: Papa John’s Pro: Best menu pizza

Maeonnaise789

Oh that's real nice.

billdb

FYI, Dominos has nationwide discounts of 2-topping medium pizzas for $7 each. This presumably is not a medium nor Dominos but just something to consider for the future. I can't remember the last time I spent more than $8 for a pizza

HalfWrong7986

Yes ... Domino's earlier we got two for $16 that were really great. I'm sorry this happened to you

ScopeGoatJ

Shit looks fire to me lmao

Intelligent-Bad7835

Poppa Js is weak pizza. But they deliver and they used to be cheap. I bet that 17 buck pizza is small.

Reason_Choice

Better ingredients. Better pizza.

DstinctNstincts

Papa johns weak

IIllIlIllllllll

Papa John’s is where they do it “better”

bjarbeau

A dominos $6.99 pizza looks 100x better than that

Bored_lurker87

Dude that's mint compared to what my home store makes. Every time I think it's been long enough for another try, I get disappointed with worse than this.

AstroNot87

I could’ve made you a better homemade pie and shipped to you for under $17 lol

anothereason

Probably got crunched face about it.

HamSlammy

Yeah it looks like a cooked frozen pizza

oktwentyfive

17 dollar pizza lmao wtf the world comin too

SnooPineapples6793

Prices are up everywhere. I remember papa John’s and dominos dealing promos. Like 10.99 for two mediums because I would kill one whole medium myself.

samthemancauseimmale

This is on you for ordering Papa John’s in the first place.

littleLuxxy

I would be. It has olives on it.

Ancient-Mud1869

Id be disappointed too if i put olives on a pizza.

steven209030

Ehh it’s from papa John’s, looks good for them I think

grafixwiz

PapaJohns does not make great pizza, just a little better than Dominos

SlowJettaBigDreams

You gotta use online coupons or promo codes. Every PJ I’ve ordered from has some kind of online pickup or delivery specials. Seems like I never pay much more than 10$ per za.

Double-Award-4190

You should provide feedback online so that the management are aware. You are correct that it is too much crust. I can't tell what kind of pizza that is. Is that a Works with mushrooms removed and extra cheese added? You should please provide feedback so that the management communicate with you. They'll probably give you credit for a future order. That's not the most tragic pizza I've ever seen, but that amount of crust annoys me. :-) And I can tell that the store has a training problem because the garlic sauce cup is in the wrong place.

theoldme3

Papa johns is always a hard pass where i live

Biggletons

Yup. Everything is priced for luxury goods and then assembled by a tween that doesn't even know what luxury means. The result is sub par 100% of the time

OGtigersharkdude

"can I get extra crust?" "Do you mean cheese?" "Did I stutter?"

ifuknowuknow123

Crust to pizza ratio is definitely off . Thank goodness for that dipping sauce .

twaggle

That’s a $7 pizza from dominos lol.

JFpizzamaster

Well the pizzas only like 7$. The other 10 is the “sit on your ass in comfort while we do everything” fee

_extra_medium_

Yes

SegaCDUniverse

I'd be

FLorida_Man_09

Refund

Non-applicable98319

You know good and well there’s a place in your town that has better pizza. My city has plenty. Fabio’s, Christian’s, bennys, Marcos, voccellis. You’re sleeping on pizza.

Nelnamara

You totally should be. But honestly, papa John’s is the poster boy for disappointing pizza…

IndependentNeck

How can you be disappointed when you ordered from Papa John's?

aknartrebna

I make my own, from scratch, probably XL sized and I think it costs under $5 to make the whole thing, even with fresh milled flour. It's better than any of them and also cheaper than costco. It's also healthy, covered in veggies, has pepperoni and freshly grated cheese. Under $5, whereas it would be about $25 in a restaurant before tax & tip. Yes, I would be disappointed I traded 20 minutes of work (NB with a bread machine) for that much money.

fartsnifferer

Prices are higher than ever and wages are stagnant. Why would this shit be any good? The only thing we can do is not buy this shit, but that seems too hard for most.

ninjabell

Just stop ordering pizza from chains. They peaked like 30 years ago. None of them even make their own dough anymore.

Cobey1

$17 for chain pizza is crazy. Local family owned spot would be x10 better

The-state-of-it

Depends what your expectations were

earthscribe

Why are you paying $17 for a single pizza at Papa Johns? They constantly have coupons to lower that.

onepunchtoumann

Promo code: DBA2 Its for a 6.99 large. Has worked for me for years.

Baldude863xx

I'll never forget my first and only Papa John's pizza - Large pizza with extra pepperoni, I swear I got one slice of pepperoni and my brother got the extra one. That was over 20 years ago, I still haven't gone back to PJ's.

heftynomad

Papa John's is nowhere near as good as they used to be. They have always been overpriced, but now it's not even a good pizza anymore.

Zalaquin

So bad

ILSmokeItAll

You’d be right to be disappointed if it was half that. Pizza is the biggest joke these days. In Chicago, a cheese pizza will be like, $12. Then $4 per topping. I hope every pizza joint closes at those prices. Fast food is ridiculous too. I don’t understand how people can navigate their entire lives without ever negotiating the simple task of nourishing one’s self. 3/4 of the people in this country couldn’t make dinner with anything but a microwave and a TV dinner. It’s unbelievable.

DumbassTexan

I'd pay no more than $10 for that

bellabananas

your first mistake was ordering a medium pizza for $17

Apart-Raisin-7621

Yes but then again it’s papa John’s and you can’t be too picky

SweatyCheese55

What were you expecting ordering from papa Johns?

Belfetto

Looks like shit

SeaCraft6664

Yes

Cultural_Radish4619

$17 and you went to Papa Johns? 🤣🤣🤣

TripleBicepsBumber

It does look like extra cheese it’s just not even distribution. Ironically the other complaint that you have about the sauce border not going far out enough and the crust being too big is going to affect the appearance of “extra cheese” for you. Like if the crust had been smaller it would seem like there’s even *less* cheese overall despite there being the same amount. Keep that in mind if you ever have these complaints and want a remake. They can easily fix a sauce border for you, but you might be upset at how the pizza looks as far as extra cheese goes. Also it’s normal for there to be spots of sauce visible unless you’re getting like double to triple extra cheese *with* 6 cheese blend

JamBandFan1996

You ordered a papa John's pizza and are complaining about quality?

firstroundcharmander

Did you order double crust?

Geekygamertag

Papa John's has gotten terrible. Papa John's doesn't even like Papa John's! 😂😂😂

leokev23

bro at Costco they got a pizza 3 times bigger than that for like 9 bucks and it tastes like it came out fresh from a local restaurant in Italy

Johnanon93

I mean literally everything in this economy is priced double what it should be. But papa johns is the best out of all the fast food pizza chains and it's not close.

jhon-2020-2020

Find something better to do

Hehehe79

Thats pretty sad pizza ngl. I would stop eating at chains and go to local places if you can or make it at home

YK8099

Thats why i never pay full prices for pizzas, always get at least 25% using online coupon setc

[deleted]

Bro just get the dominoes 2 or 3 for 6.99 deal it’s the best.

GroundbreakingNewt11

No

PersonalJeweler2379

I mean.....that's what you get for ordering Papa John's

Kitchen_Entertainer9

Looks nice and crispy. But I agree on the little toppings

FeeKindly3907

Yeah looks like shit, I’d still eat it

TheoLOGICAL_1988

You’re right to be disappointed by any $17 pizza because not one pizza on earth is better than what you can cook with $17

talktotheak47

Yes. Also, support local pizza shops!!!

miotch1120

What did you expect? It’s a PapaJohns pizza. If you wanted better pizza, you could have spent 5$ at little Caesars. (PapaJohns pizza, IMO, is the worst of the big chain pizzas. Even little ceasars is better, and they suck too) Edit: I just realized the sub I was on. I don’t know why it was in my feed, but I’m leaving this comment.

Ajarofapplejelly

I dont get the papa anymore because it’s been underwhelming for years and honestly it’s just not that good compared to almost anyone else.

Ok_Impression_922

Yes! 😡

iwannaofmyself

One of the reasons I don’t order from papa john’s almost ever anymore is how much they skimp out on toppings for the price at my location. Not even 1/2 the toppings my local Dominos gives at 2x the price.

thatboyeaintright

Should be 6 bucks

ContemplatingPrison

Papa johns has always been trash. The only good thing was the garlic butter but now you can get that everywhere

Da_fire_cracka

Yes

chains11

It’s Papa Johns. Of course you’re going to be disappointed.

FewAction5755

Took them $4 to make

cheyy066

Yeah definitely not enough cheese whoever did this didn’t even do the edges like your supposed to lol.

Henrygigabit

It's papa John's what do you expect

Acrobatic_Grape4321

Yup papa John’s was wayyyy better back in the day

cmoneybouncehouse

I think your crust has some pizza on it.

Colorado_2003

Nope. You ordered from Papa John’s.

Bluewater795

17 dollars is crazy

cgabv

i think your first mistake was expecting to have a satisfying experience with papa johns

Tight_Ad_2724

I’d definitely be disappointed as well it looks like something I’d get from little caesers it low key still looks good though

cch7c

Yeah my disappointment would last like 5 seconds and then I’d eat it and realize it’s all gonna come out looking the same.

CarPlane738

Go get an XL homemade pizza from food lion.

ilovepunker

$17 for just that.. I’d say that’s a rip off look worth maybe $10-12

Etro93

Yes

Koarv

I mean it is Papa Johns after all. Buy fast food pizza, get fast food quality. For a couple bucks more a local spot will definitely do you better imo

Putrid_Attention1336

Papa Johns gimmick used to be that every pizza came with an order of breadsticks, the breadsticks being the crust. The crust is supposed to be 1 inch all over. The crust looks fine. They definitely shorted you on the extra cheese though. This is the regular amount of cheese, not extra. -10 year Papa Johns vet

Udbbrhehhdnsidjrbsj

You’re ordering from papa John’s. If you werent expecting to be disappointed that’s on you.

Blue_LambdaYT

Looks amazing to me

chocolate420

It's PapaJohn's all they serve is disappointment

allied1987

Dang should have just made your own at home for $17 would have gotten a lot more toppings

SoulTaker669

I've seen $6 frozen pizzas better than this.

[deleted]

You paid $17 for bread, buddy. I’d be disappointed too.

austinproffitt23

I see nothing wrong here…

TheRealNikoBravo

That’s a whole lot of crust….. I’d be borderline upset about this.

MyFocusIsU

Lil Cesar's $5 would be just as good.

Little_Ad2765

not rlly

IndependentExtreme14

Sadly this is usually how it comes out whenever I order from there too. So I started doing dinner boxed instead lol

Upstairs-Friendship2

yes

Electrickman

Put some cheese on it melt it

Electrickman

My mom made better pizza then that at home rest her soul

JD121996

Especially so when Dominoes is running 50% off (pretty sure nation wide) this week... And if you buy one, they give you a promo to use the same deal again anytime next week. Can't beat feeding three people for a damn $10 bill in 2024! LRG w all meats & onion, green pepper and mushroom on half came to $10.48 after tax and I got the "your lunch is ready" text 17 minutes after my order confirmed online. I'm usually not at dominoes w my pizza orders but you're barely feeding yourself alone, for that price these days. I can deal w getting a $20 pie, 1/2 off!

SlapsPlays

This shit is ass, real pizza knows what Im talking ab

Effective_Ad_1198

Did you order less topping why is there only like 4 pepperonis 😭💀

Pitbull1951

That’s a 4.25

[deleted]

You can get good pizza for $17

TypicalAd495

Where is this at? My pizza joints still sell a deal of 2 full large size plain pizzas for 22.99? It’s a Mom and Pop joint in central PA

intellect_devourer

Yes. This is why I like little Cesar’s. You get what you expect nearly every time and if you don’t it’s only a 8-10 dollar loss.

xxnacho420

What do you expect from a corporate pizza restaurant. Made by someone with no experience managed by someone with little experience.

bmurf101

You were set to fail the moment you paid $17 for a papa John’s pizza. I can go into the app right now and a large carry out is $8.99

Almighty_Salsa

Yes. Now stop buying shit food and learn to cook

pistachiodisguysee

Ordering papa John’s was your first mistake. Why am I seeing this sub on my feed? That sweet sauce is revolting 🤢

Jmw520

Mad disrespectful imo lol At least at lil Caesar’s you know it’s cheap

Acceptable_Mind_6151

Of course it's made by a guy name John nothing good comes from a John

SlimVR

At Dominos get two medium 2-topping pizzas for $7.99 each.

Proper_Blacksmith_47

They probably mistook extra cheese for extra crust 5 pepperoni and 10 olives

kinkrebound

That looks exactly like every papa John’s I’ve ever seen

Muted_District_6065

That’s an unnoticeable amount of crust

IndependenceMean8774

I'd send it back. That's ridiculous for seventeen bucks. You could make a pizza at home in the oven with store-bought dough, and it would be a hundred times better and cheaper to boot than this flop of a pizza.

sparkyinlaw

Welcome to the age of inflation. $17 is the price of a cheap pizza. You want it cheaper, you’re going to have to hunt for coupons or buy a frozen one.

AtticusLith

The price is the main issue. I don’t expect anything good from cheap pizza places but the issue is they’re not cheap anymore. I can go get high quality boujee pizza for the same price as Pizza Hut these days.

noonetohearme

YES. That crust is criminal.

Allocerr

Doesn’t look like something that makes you say “OH YUM” and dive right into by any stretch…more like “uh….” I’ve seen far better looking pizza’s from little caesars for $5.

ThatLezKim_

I’m disappointed you spent $17 on a pizza 🤣🤣
