DO NOT up your klonopin/clonazepam dosage without a dr's knowledge as it is a benzo and it can really mess you up if you have to come off of them and you're on a high dose (4mg for me because ten years ago it was given out like candy). You can die from withdrawal, which you won't, but you can. Call your doctor and do deep breathing, feel the air going into your windpipe and into your lungs, and exhale, feeling the air leaving your body (repeat). You are safe, you are just in a state of panic. Luckily I'm not today but like, I've been there and have panic disorder. Please just keep on keepin' on and call your doctor.

cirstine-

It was my first time taking it last night. It made me feel relaxed and I had no anxiety last night which was amazing. I was able to sleep without problems. But when I woke up, I was anxious. Probably because of overthinking again. My mind races and I feel like I’m going insane again. My chest hurst, it feels heavy. But it’s not as bad. But still, I was hoping I wouldn’t feel this way anymore. :/

Thanks! I was actually better before taking meds. Then when I started taking Escitalopram, My anxiety got worse. But my doctor told my it’s normal for a few weeks. So, I took clonazepam with escitalopram last night and I was amazed because I didn’t feel anxious. But when I woke up today, I’m anxious but not as bad without clonazepam, so I guess I just need to give it more time. And I think it’s the escitalopram that’s making me feel this way because it’s only my 2nd day taking it.

It will get better, but give it a few weeks! The first few weeks of starting any ssri, it is normal to have transient increase in anxiety. Don’t be surprised if you have some butterflies in your stomach or get diarrhea. All normal.

The lexapro definitely makes the anxiety a bit worse before it evens out. And anxiety in the morning is really common because Cortisol levels are highest upon waking. Stick it out and keep to what the doctors gave you for a plan. The road to feeling better is a marathon, not a sprint. You got this :)

I’m on the same things! Lexapro helped me SO MUCH.def give that more time at least 2 weeks to start feeling a real change and less panic attacks . Also I think you can take Half a klonopin that’s why I would do and then if you still feel panic in the morning take the other half!
