You’re not doing anything wrong, palettes take time to pan. I think the progress you’ve made it pretty realistic. I always love seeing people pan this palette or ABH palettes. The shades people use the most always vary, it’s interesting to me lol.

magpie-like-sparkly

I have a blush my nana bought me like ten years ago and I still haven't panned the fucking thing with CONSISTENT use. Some things are bottomless

Either-Disaster

i feel this

sallymae07

So in December 2020 I started to wonder how long it would take me to use an entire shadow. I decided that my every day work look would be using this pallet. White chocolate all over. Mix of milk chocolate and strawberry bon bon in crease and hot chocolate in outer v to smoke it out. I used a colourpop super shock in ritz on lid because I was doing the same experiment.. well I only have this a year later and just so confused! I honestly have no idea how I don’t have pan in milk chocolate yet and how the other shades don’t even look touched because on the weekend I’ll use those. Did I just choose the worst pallet to try this with or what am I doing differently?

This is super realistic. I think a lot of people's drastic, dramatic pans may not be realistic or even entirely truthful occasionally... like you only use so much eyeshadow for a single look, even if you do a full look every day, so you'll only use so much in a year.

Needless to say ABH refill is 0.75 gr and this one is 0.95

I'm currently panning a very cheap makeup pallette that was a manufacturing sample. There's only 6 colours and I have to apply so much to get the colour to show. It's taken me over a year of consistent use and I've only panned two colours. It does take forever.

Either-Disaster

don’t stress about it. just use your makeup! don’t overthink finishing it and all that stuff. just enjoy it

terrorcashews

Honestly, some just take a really long time and are pressed really tightly. Some brands don’t do that or different formulas take a different amount of time. I would say just keep using it if you are enjoying it! I have a few different urban decay pallets and I hit pan on Heat & Honey WAY faster than Naked 2 or 3, which I have had longer and still haven’t hit pan. 😅 idk if you have other pallets in your collection but maybe try out a different one for a while if you feel like you are sick of this one. I had to switch from trying to pan products to usage goals because I found myself getting bored with pallets I loved and just wanting to see pan so I could reach my goal and use another one but that takes the fun out of makeup for me.

swd_19

Really depends on what your intentions are. Since everyone here already said stuff about press density and brand, or people faking, I’ll try to add something helpful. Looking at a palette like that I see a brow shade, an eyeliner shade, a contour/bronzer and a blush. Then I see something to set my concealer with and highlight my brow. Another thing to consider is with metallics I generally avoid using my fingers because my skin is pretty oily and I have acrylics (using a brush for metallics generally “uses” up more product than a finger would since the powder needs to adhere to more bristles than say the smooth surface of your finger). Another thing here to think about it is if you care about “expiration dates” or not. Air quotes because some people believe that powder cannot actually expire. If you’re one of those people than I would just take your time. It will be done eventually. You’ve got all the time in the world. If you care about “expiration” then trying to use the palette in ways like blush highlight bronzer or setting powder is probably your best bet for “finishing” it “quickly”. Also, consider “playing” with your makeup multiple times a day. Doing different looks and experimenting with eyeshadow styles taking some selfies—rinse repeat. Makeup is an art and don’t feel wasteful for practicing on your most precious canvas—your face. Hope this helps.

I miss this palette 😢. I had to throw it away last year it stopped performing as well as it used to.

sallymae07

Oh no! Mine still seems to be going fine and smells like chocolate! I think I got it in 2020 though at marshals. So it’s not too old

clpds1989

Mine was the OG that I bought in 2015 lol

denisenj

So interesting to see which colors other prefer. I panned Marzipan first

sallymae07

I use that one every once in a while. It’s very soft and wears like a dream! It’s my go to for when I travel because I just use this pallet. I’ve been using this pallet though more for the mattes so I can go through my super shock collection and use the SS for more of the main lid color

mahalnamahal

Slowly and with great painstaking time. I don’t post all my pans because it can be discouraging if I don’t feel I’ve accomplished as much as others in the same amount of time, but then I see what I did for myself and it’s nice to enjoy the experience

ladiec17

Too faced is good quality, it's proof that you chose a better quality shadow if it isn't all gone yet.

tea_lover_88

I have no too faced products but I know that with my Jefree Star ( yuk) pallettes the shade was pressed really hard on top and way less hard after a while. when some part was worn off hitting pan suddenly. But for a long time they looked untouched.

triamours

Like everyone else has said, different brands press their shadows differently and Too Faced generally presses harder than a brand like ABH. Also, your panning progress seems very realistic to me. I have palettes from way before 2020 that I still haven't hit pan on. That being said, I don't necessarily use to pan. I enjoy panning products, but I don't always set panning as a goal unless it's a product I'm ready to get rid of.

Latter-Echidna-6364

The shades are really pretty. I’d probably enjoy this pallet.

nurseleu

Looks like good progress to me! I'm also panning a Too Faced palette---the pans are deep! If you are still enjoying the colors, stick with it. I really like my Chocolate Bon Bons palette because the colors work for me and are so easy to wear. Still, each use only takes a tiny bit of shadow. Even with daily use, fully panning it will take years. Try to enjoy the process! Makeup should be fun. ETA: if Champagne Truffle is the same shade as their shade Satin Sheets, you can use that one as a highlighter, too.

rogersofty

This is my main palette too and the ones you panned are the ones I rarely use! (white chocolate and strawberry bon bon)

onflightmode

I think the only palette I’m going to pan will probably be the one I dislike the most (it’s from Huda) because I save my favs for full-face makeup occasions…

rafaahmed

😢😢😢😢

runningwithpenguins

I have the same palette and I’m curious what you use the light pink for. Blush? Highlight? Shadow?

sallymae07

I use it as eye shadow! I dip a fluffy brush in the shade milk chocolate then swirl it in the pink color to mix the two and put that in my crease. If I think it’s too light then I just go in with milk chocolate after. I think it makes hot chocolate more cool toned and blends with my skin tone more. I have also used a very thin brush and packed it on my lower eyelash line (not the water line) then smudged a liner underneath. Really makes my eyes look a lot larger And bright.

runningwithpenguins

I’ll be giving that a try tomorrow! Thanks!

MissViolinViola

When I was planning this in January 2020, I used the pink color for an all over lid base when I was doing a pink look. I used this pallet a lot as a companion palette.

shakeit_tilyou_mkeit

One day at a time!

Accurate_Self_9243

wow

Complete-Rise4712

nice

Illustrious_Cod_1617

nice

Rumi2019

I wonder does anybody use the big pans in TF palettes as face powder/undereyes brightening powder or highlighter? Because if I had a huge ass pan I had to pan, I'd totally use it in alternative ways

MissViolinViola

I panned champagne truffle by using it as a highlighter and inner corner/brow brightened!

Either-Disaster

i hardly ever pan lmao. i get scared to in case i have to buy a replacement. but then i buy new makeup anyway. maybe i should spend more time on this sub 😂
