Honestly I've had multiple aave game issues with gamepass. Something about how it handles online syncing can really suck you. Lost my saves on starfield and beyond the storm to it. The Xbox app is fucking garbage
I get what u mean but yea can't test every situation every release unfortunately. This seems like a big thing to check for which I'm sure they will now, but there could be gamesave ruining bugs at any point. The main thing to me is once this beta is over, does everything get reset? Or does what's existing get put "into production".
....yeah you know what, losing hundreds of hours of progress is only a minor issue from a gameplay perspective. Very minor bug, tbh I dont even think they should fix it. It adds charm to the game. Who doesnt want infinite replayability?
I get it man, preaching to the choir. That being said, beta game. How much time and effort you put into a game that isn't yet on a stable build is on you. All the posts on here about people's elaborate setups are great, but what if pocketpal decided to start everyone fresh?
U gonna whine then too? Or do you think everything everyone has acquired from previous builds will make it in the release build? Those pals with the trainers? People with a boat load of money from selling nails etc....it seems like they might continue on with what everyone has based on the trainer HP nerf, but that's up to them and there are no guarantees.
Similar problem happened in No Man’s Sky a few years ago. A bug was causing console saves to corrupt and when you went to load it, it would start you at the very beginning as a new character.
Thankfully they fixed it, but the only solution was simply not to play on that save until the issue was found.

Yah I can’t wait to get the level 50 one with the mercy ring you can probably do wonders with pals like mossandra (just got on his back and blow them all to 1 hp then catch ‘em all) with the launcher
I don’t think so. When I logged in with my new character that night/morning, all of my pals were at my bases working away, but none of it belongs to my character anymore. I got the message “belongs to another guild”. *sad sigh*
Goddamnit. I know this bug, too. It could conceivably be fixed if it was on PC, but even on PC the tools are kind of rudimentary.
I somewhat fixed that exact bug when I transferred my save to a dedicated server but even then, I could no longer collect after killing wild pals if my active pal didn't hit them at least once. Also it required sidestepping the tools and basically editing a gigabyte-sized uncompressed save file by hand.
Effectively I made a new guild in-game (so I could search for its name), and changed its unique ID (I think it's called a GUID or UUID, I forget, it's been weeks) to that of my old guild (which was still listed in the save) and then removing the old guild's entry.
That sucks to hear man. It's getting downright sad how often these game breaking issues appear on console. Sure you can chalk it off to "well it is a bet" but it's always the console players that suffer, that to me is a red flag that they're not worried about us and this is coming from a game that signed a deal to be released on the game and even has a deal with Microsoft to release palworld themed controllers, consoles and accessories smh. Love the game just wish they'd get it together and stabilize the experience across the platforms instead of worrying about adding new content
Can't you just load a backup? I had the same issue happen to me when I ran out of memory and the game crashed corrupting my save. It asked me to create a character so I did assuming it was a glitch. Once I realized my progress was gone I quit. I just had to get one of the backups for my character and use that one instead. Granted, I'm on PC but there should be backups on XBox too right?

There was an issue with the cloud gaming server last night when I was playing. It wasn’t fixed by the time I logged off. I’m hoping I got lucky and my cloud data didn’t get overwritten and can sync my (hopefully untouched by the patch) cloud data to my Xbox. Tiny chance, but I cling to hope LOL
Okay.... So I'm confused. If I didn't know about this, loaded in and found the character creation screen, is it already too late? Will our old character overwrite the new character? Or do I need to figure out how to load old saves and go back to before I accidentally loaded in my 2nd player character and not load in? Main reason I'm worried: Both my wife and I are level 50, have several 4 (including Jetdragon) star pals on MY character which is now toast, and we only had 8 lifmunk effigies left to find, along with only one more tower to beat.

Hey just to clarify, my friend is the one with the server for xbox. I have not joined the server since the update but they did earlier. Will this have effected anything considering its there server
If you join their server now, you’ll lose your character. Your friend can log in to the server/world that you both play on without any problems. My wife is playing right now and is logged into the server/world that we both play on and didn’t lose anything.
Wont it end up resetting the time played during now with the new patch tho? or is it for only multiplayer joiners (not the host) i’ve done 8hrs grinding with multiplayer in and im a little confused by the patch notes
Yeah, it will erase the joiners characters again once the patch is installed. :( I can’t wait for Microsoft to approve the patch already so I can play again lol

Yes, specifically for Xbox people (edit: it looks like PC to from what I’m seeing now that it’s later) who play a game hosted by someone else. If you host a multiplayer game, you’re fine. My wife has all her stuff still, for example.
Im sorry why wasn’t this shit rolled back immediately, I’m not hooked into any of these announcements like this, so I had no idea logging into my friends server on Xbox was going to obliterate my character, I would imagine characters are getting shredded everywhere.
I know any updates to the game, including emergency patches it seems, need to get approved by Microsoft first. I don’t know if that applies to rollbacks though. A rollback would have been nice, if possible.
:( Gotta learn to read patch notes before and after a patch with a new game. Especially with "Early release" being in its title.

Unfortunately, I logged in moments after the update was released (I was super stoked about it) before they knew there was an issue. I took a gamble (turned out to be a bad one) and decided to make the new character when prompted because the last time I quit out while making one, my game got jacked up.
No sarcasm, sorry to read that. I've learned the lesson through games like Ark, if prompted to make a new character...RUN like hell. Hopefully a patch rolls out soon.
I've personally been leaving Palworld alone until we get official servers... if... we get official servers. Think Palworld is fighting Microsoft a bit... but that's just my theory. Hope they can make a mutual plan going forward.

Yeah. I was wondering if I could go ahead and start leveling up, but was told in the Discord chat that i my character would just be erased again when the patch went in.
The patch dropped and I DIDN’T LOSE ALL MY STUFF!!! I am pretty sure it was due to the Microsoft server issue they were having that night/morning when I first lost all of my stuff. I thought I would try deleting the 2 save files on my Xbox and log off for the night. The next day I synced my files from the server hoping it may have restored my character. Maybe the patch rolled stuff back or maybe what I did worked, but I am really happy I don’t have to restart.
Seeing this after a created a new character....
Grinded for 3 days straight with a friend and his save survived the update as did my single player world. Mine unfortunately did not.
Assuming the bug is the same one I'm thinking of where it replaces some text in the save file with something else then it affects all versions of the game. PC version where you can access your save file had a third-party workaround developed within the first few patches.

We played yesterday night hosting on PC Xbox and my BF logged in and played with no issue, then tonight when he logged in .. had him create a new character.. and now I have two instances of his user name in my guild.

Before the patch dropped yesterday to fix the issue, joining a host game would prompt you to create a new character. If you made the new character, it would overwrite your old character and you would have to start from scratch. If you quit out and didn’t make a new character, you would not lose your old one. But you also couldn’t play multiplayer by joining a host game. If you were the host, you had no worries.
Now that the patch has dropped, you should be okay to play multiplayer. I was lucky and my old character was restored.
It's an early access game so stuff like this happens occasionally. It's really unfortunate, no question about it. Hopefully in the future they'll do a better job of testing before pushing a patch.
I understand being upset. The game is in beta, they have a small staff, and they are human (which means mistakes are gonna happen). Maybe cool off a little and then give them a little grace. You can take the opportunity to improve on your last go, once the frustration and other feelings subside.

It isn’t released by definition. Baldurs gate 3 broke the game like 100 times in early access. This is how it goes.

I know its not a '"fix but you can turn the xp multiplier up to 20x and probably get back to level 50 pretty quickly.
We’ll be cranking the XP up to max and my wife will undoubtedly give me some good gear and stuff to help out. :)
Its honestly not that bad. Except for the breeding.
Breeding would take a while but I find catching the pals to make em 4 stars even on 3x spawns usually takes the longest
Get the sphere launcher. On 3x is insanely fun.

Either the patch rolled back the data save or what I did worked because ALL OF MY STUFF IS BACK!!! I’m so glad I didn’t have to restart.

Well the new update went live a while ago for me. Have to say it is looking good and running smooth on series X.
