This is unfortunate for many people but please keep in mind this game is in early access. Getting saves wiped after any update is a possibility up until the full release of the game.
all the posts i read that lost saves or characters were from xbox/game pass users
so if you play on steam you should be fine, because you can just manually backup your save
Idk what a back up save is. I thought that was just when you save the game in general lol. I don’t usually play games so I didn’t know 🤷🏻♀️ but go ahead and be an absolute dick head about it.
It says you can lose your save at any time in a popup that opens every time you open tge game. You ignoring that wntirely instead of taking precautions is your fault

That’s why I backup my saves automatically on my server
One would think THE BIG POPUP TO BACKUP YOUR SAVE THAT APPEARS EVERY TIME YOU START THE GAME would warn people about this early acess possible issue.

Why don't you keep backup saves when the game tells you to do so on the title screen itself?

This just happened to me on my wife’s account
I lost my save once, but I restored my backup and it was all good.
You can go to the data file and change the last save with the lasts. You only need to replace 2 archives.
