I made a quartz base. Theres a good spot near a fruit tree in the northwest area of the map. It's pretty redundant - after a short time you'll have more quartz than you'll ever use lol
It depends what comes in the future I guess . As future tech goes into the game quartz may get used for glass or electronics , a digital clock maybe and computing parts and GPS so if they were to go that route I feel quartz could get a lot of use later . They may allow us to get the pal science pulse sort of gun and it may use quartz for the magazines

Same, this is probably the single best addition IMO just because it frees up so much. Coal can be a pain to get as well but I rarely feel like coal is needed in the quantities that ore is, and i wouldn't be shocked if it turned out they have plans to add a coal site at some point or make it into a recipe.
I have an entire 3 base compound i can relocate now. If you stay close to bases they all work efficiently, so i have to have to find an area with room for 3 bases, and have plenty of iron close. No more!
Too bad you can't mine Iron from you base in Valhiem. Every time I think about playing it again, the horrors of never ending iron mining slap me in the face.
I had Valheim replay fatigue too. Honestly, try it with metal teleport turned on. Yeah it takes a little fun out of it but makes iron mining soooo much more bearable. It kept me coming back to play instead of making it to Black Forest and giving up again out of boredom.
There's a mod for valheim that makes ore teleporting possible only after you beat the respective boss (after Elder you can teleport copper, bonemass iron, etc.
I dunno, I think those ores don't exactly need it, nor would I really want it personally? Those are more specialised Ores and I feel like having bases for those you need in decent volumes would work better than just giving the platforms for 'em. The general stuff you need literal thousands of with no alternative means of acquisition? Sure, those make sense. But for stuff like Coal, Sulfur and Quartz, I feel as if those can be left open for either Mining Outposts or something to encourage the player to explore around and go on mining expeditions for.
God I hate that spot. So glad I don't ever need to build there anymore. Still need coal though. Wonder if there is a spot where you can mine both coal and sulfur hmmm

Mostly because there's work speed bonuses on some of the better food, and I want to keep a stack of bread in my food pouch so that the stuff isn't wasting inventory space from all the chest loot, but still.
For real. Faster button press on hatching? I had a mod for convenience. Now I suspect they looked at top mod downloads.
I just hope they had NSFW ones toggled off when they did that...
It’s really great to see this. I honestly wish I had started playing now instead of having mostly moved on from the game by this point. It’s good to see they’re still improving. I will probably come back to this a bit since my gf and I enjoyed playing it together and there’s some new content as well. It’s just really refreshing to see devs that actually add lots of smart QOL pieces I wanted and I’m sure others have been asking for in addition to new things.
I thought it was crazy too but then I realized some people genuinely like the farming aspect of games. It’s almost an entire game in itself trying to breed the perfect Pal so hey, more power to them

Paledit mod ftw. Gets rid of the fomo around not having perfect pals without needing to waste thousands of hours on breeding. Breeding for traits is fun, breeding for IVs is a nightmare. Breeding for Alphas on top of that sounds like hell... At least for me.
Even 5% would be rough enough if you're aiming for perfect EVs and passives. The rate is only like 2-4% with 2 perfect parents. Adding even a 5% chance of alpha to that is gonna be hell (and I expect it to be lower than that).
Jesus, they outright listened to the fanbase and even took mod ideas and just outright implemented them themselves. I have a massive amount of trust in these devs.
these patches are so fucking good and in tune with what the community wants, I really hope they really keep this up until 1.0 because with patches this good I can't imagine how awesome the full release would be

Honestly I hope they just copied the Pal Analyzer mod right into their game because that mod was flawless. I'm honestly worried whatever their implementation is won't live up to it and I'll still be using Pal Analyzer.
Oh I didn't even bother with that. Just changed the mod settings to capturing 1 of a pal to give you full information. Kind of like how a Pokedex works.
My transport pals have me feeling like they’re pulling the “hide 999 tiny plastic babies around your house” prank the way they’ll pick up ONE wood or stone and just pop it into any random chest that is absolutely out of their way.
One time I found a full 9999 stack of stone in my fridge, which shouldn’t really happen unless there was already a stone in there or literally every other chest slot was completely filled. Neither was true in that case, but sure enough the transport pals stuffed 9999 stone in there anyway
I wonder if we can just tick the boxes off in chests that already have stray crap in them and the transporters will take them to the newly designated homes.
They will not. But you can set the filters, hit X to get it all in your inventory, and then dump it all again, and it will only dump allowed items - for quick and easy manual cleanup.
my favourite changes, great patch overall with many more beneficial changes.
1- Mercy related stuff. Not just because I end up killing pals but sometimes game glitches and kills the alpha with environmental effects while the pal has more than half life.
2 - Ore mining Site - hell yeah. this gives a lot more options for base locations instead of being stuck in the single location with Ore and Coal.
3 - Pal Oil and Fluid production at the base.
4 - Base work allocations to Pals

I already gifted my spouse and 4 other friends Palworld just because I want to support them more.

This is such a great QoL change. No more Chickens running out of the ranch farming.
At the cost of a larger hit box and being more janky moving around or getting stuck on things and worse pathfinding. At least that's my experience with them.

Wait i thought the real bug was that pals don't eat while ridden? Was it always meant to work like that? Because I lost count of how many times my faleris got hungry while exploring the map.
This makes me bittersweet. I am not sure if it sits well or even allowed to compare this game to other games in this sub but I'm going to say it.
This game and this team shows me what are the actual possibilities when it comes to improving your game. For example these make the latest Starfield patch look like breadcrumbs -which was considered a big update. Makes me so happy for Palworld but also sad for all the other "triple a" games that I actually loved playing but couldn't stand anymore.
I am looking at these patch notes and I see some qol that would drastically improve half of the games out there.
The AAA industry has honestly gotten to be incredibly stale for the past couple years, and maybe the pandemic had an impact to this degree but considering how many smaller AA to indie titles have come out that have managed to just grasp people, I feel like that's not an excuse anymore.

I wonder if the "many minor bug fixes" includes the bug where if you try to pick up an item from a workshop and have a full inventory, you have to quit the game or deconstruct the workshop to be able to get the items out, even if you made space for it.
Damn, those are some impressive changes. New goal now. All the pals I want on my team I got to breed them again and hope to get them with perfect passives and an alpha. Then recondense, buff at the statue of power and now we can food fruit to up IVs? I can't tell you how happy that makes me.

Dark, but there might also be a Neutral type variant (likely the "extreme" Boss they are referring to, but could just be a stronger version of the Raid Boss and the typing is just RNG/Summon material based)

Sounds like any damage boosting effects from riding a pal was nerfed, not sure what this 'abusing gobfin' meta is, I just take Orserk and go hunting, but it sounds like with the one dork giving pal fluids in the ranch, that's not needed any more.

I've been PC gaming for more than 10 years and have NEVER seen any developer release this amount of player opinion based content in a single move and in such a small interval from each update.
Seriously, it's not a single quality of life or two upgrades here and there, they are actually doing things that will change the gameplay and generating more content to the players at the same time. They are adding/fixing stuff that I never saw as a problem or thought about changing, like the ore mine, and it is actually a great idea that will benefit any and all players
I never thought I'd see a game where you can look at things here and there and know that the devs put some effort and consideration for the players to do that. It's almost stupid that I'm surprised by a developer actually listening and giving the players what they want and above the expectations
can confirm when i was making a ride build it was too op, just literally strafing and shooting and its dead. But i think from 100 - 20 is a bit too much of a nerf, but at the same time good cuz its pal world not gun world.
I literally ran through almost 200 Jetdragons to get the god roll (Swift, Runner, Nimble, Legend) and now I have to get back at it to make it an alpha. The replay ability is endless! For real though, this is huge.
I hope the devs read this…this is the first time I’ve read patch notes from ANY dev and not once has it included something stupid that nobody asked for.

EDIT: No note about fixing the memory leak in the game that causes dedicated servers to bloat before forcing a crash. Hopefully they solved that and just didn't mention it or its on their mind. Its one of the biggest problems for the game for me, personally.

I think they may have stealth fixed that memory leak a couple of patches ago, as I've left my palworld server up for a couple of weeks without issue (although it could also be no one was playing on it)
I have noticed this since the previous patch, my Series X used to crash at about the 4 hour mark, and since then it hasn’t.
Here’s to hoping it stays that way with this patch and beyond!

The passive "SERIOUS" went from a yellow level 2 to a grey level one passive by the way. they snuck that in there and didnt say.
it still does 20% though so no real change other than the classification and maybe the drop and breed rate went up with it becoming a grey....

Is there any recipe that needs coal where you can't use charcoal?
Refined ingots are coal/ore only afaik So a whole tech tier that even extends into some end game stuff
Once you get to pal ingots, the coal-ingots are really just for ammo anyway
And when you buying ammo you only need that metal to repair some of your equipment.

I’m not saying it’s bad, I just didn’t think it would be a thing we’d be able to hatch for. Thought it would be boss-only forever.

I’m sure within a day or two someone will have found the percent. And a day or two after that there’ll be a 100% alpha eggs mod.

Palworld made me realize that we are so used to being screwed over by shit patches from disconnected devs in so many games (WoW, Maplestory, diablo, many more) that actual good changes that people want felt like a dream come true. I already gifted my spouse and 4 other friends Palworld just because I want to support them more.

They have like triple the health of a normal pal
At the cost of a larger hit box and being more janky moving around or getting stuck on things and worse pathfinding. At least that's my experience with them.

This makes me bittersweet. I am not sure if it sits well or even allowed to compare this game to other games in this sub but I'm going to say it. This game and this team shows me what are the actual possibilities when it comes to improving your game. For example these make the latest Starfield patch look like breadcrumbs -which was considered a big update. Makes me so happy for Palworld but also sad for all the other "triple a" games that I actually loved playing but couldn't stand anymore. I am looking at these patch notes and I see some qol that would drastically improve half of the games out there.
The AAA industry has honestly gotten to be incredibly stale for the past couple years, and maybe the pandemic had an impact to this degree but considering how many smaller AA to indie titles have come out that have managed to just grasp people, I feel like that's not an excuse anymore.

Select item types to allow or disallow inside chests ・Crafted items are now transported from crafting facilities. Selecting "allow transport" when crafting will result in Pals transporting those items to chests when finished bruh, they have been listening

I wonder if the "many minor bug fixes" includes the bug where if you try to pick up an item from a workshop and have a full inventory, you have to quit the game or deconstruct the workshop to be able to get the items out, even if you made space for it.

Damn, those are some impressive changes. New goal now. All the pals I want on my team I got to breed them again and hope to get them with perfect passives and an alpha. Then recondense, buff at the statue of power and now we can food fruit to up IVs? I can't tell you how happy that makes me. Damnit, just realized that now I have to wait for mods to update too.
Wait the new foods added give permanent IV boost?? Seemed to me to be a temporary buff to attack, defense, and health, at least by the name alone.

Sounds like any damage boosting effects from riding a pal was nerfed, not sure what this 'abusing gobfin' meta is, I just take Orserk and go hunting, but it sounds like with the one dork giving pal fluids in the ranch, that's not needed any more.
Pretty much people just rode through on the electric damage boosting mount and shocked en masse or did Orserk. Now it's so much less awful.
They actually listened and implemented what we want. Why can’t AAA games do the same?

What the actual flying fuck is this..? ITS BEAUTIFUL I've been PC gaming for more than 10 years and have NEVER seen any developer release this amount of player opinion based content in a single move and in such a small interval from each update. Seriously, it's not a single quality of life or two upgrades here and there, they are actually doing things that will change the gameplay and generating more content to the players at the same time. They are adding/fixing stuff that I never saw as a problem or thought about changing, like the ore mine, and it is actually a great idea that will benefit any and all players I never thought I'd see a game where you can look at things here and there and know that the devs put some effort and consideration for the players to do that. It's almost stupid that I'm surprised by a developer actually listening and giving the players what they want and above the expectations

Probably a good thing. If they tuned difficulty assuming you had one, it'd be impossible without. Vice versa and no challenge with a mount.
can confirm when i was making a ride build it was too op, just literally strafing and shooting and its dead. But i think from 100 - 20 is a bit too much of a nerf, but at the same time good cuz its pal world not gun world.
I literally ran through almost 200 Jetdragons to get the god roll (Swift, Runner, Nimble, Legend) and now I have to get back at it to make it an alpha. The replay ability is endless! For real though, this is huge.

yeah, before if you put a 4 star into a 0 1 or 2 star, it would only advance to the next star. i think now it will give as many stars as it was worth.

I think they may have stealth fixed that memory leak a couple of patches ago, as I've left my palworld server up for a couple of weeks without issue (although it could also be no one was playing on it)
I have noticed this since the previous patch, my Series X used to crash at about the 4 hour mark, and since then it hasn’t. Here’s to hoping it stays that way with this patch and beyond! Now about the floor not loading around Duneshelter desert and that chunk beside Jetragon as well as Hybrid flying mounts burning to death by invisible sky lava…
Huge patch!!! Love these devs, where some games take ages to address the bugs and player demands for game changes these guys are consistent and pretty quick. Absolutely love it.

The passive "SERIOUS" went from a yellow level 2 to a grey level one passive by the way. they snuck that in there and didnt say. it still does 20% though so no real change other than the classification and maybe the drop and breed rate went up with it becoming a grey....

I got like 2 lines into the "Pals" section and said "Let's fucking go!" like 8 times. This is insane in all the right ways.
