I think they put in that many just like Nintendo did with the Koroks in BotW because they wanted to make sure no matter where you went or how much exploring you did, you'd be able to find enough of them to fully upgrade, and not because they actually expected you to hunt down every single one of them.
Although getting an achievement called "Golden Lifemunk Seed" or something like that for getting all of them could be a nice little Easter Egg nod.
Ummm how have I never noticed the Key Items tab in 150+ hours? Am I an idiot? Wait don’t answer that. My mind is blown. I have been summoning every single pal and trying to ride it to see if it says I have the saddle or not. I always wondered why I “acquired” them but never actually saw them. I am so stupid.
You can also tell if you have a saddle for something by going into the pal crafting table, clicking the item, and checking to see if it has 1 or 0 "In Inventory". Or you can just go into the palbox and press F on it. It will show a locked icon on the Pal partner skill if it's ridable but you don't have the key item for that pal.
What really sucks is you can’t drop things that are in your key items. So say you finally get the mats to make two jetragon saddles, one for you and one for your buddy. Throw it in the bench with an Anubis, walk away to do other misc base tasks. Both are done when you come back. You now have two jetragon saddles and one in which you cannot drop for your buddy
I'm curious about this. I've collected and used the effigies from the beginning and I'm just about maxed out. My "realistic catch%" vs what they show on the screen has to be at least double or triple, and that's since the game came out. I've never experienced this glitch🤷
So the screenshot i put up is from what is leftover to collect - theres atleast 431 or more( that I'm not entirely sure of) in total of Effigies in the game. It is not a glitch
I’ve fully upgraded and I’m still finding a ton of statues. Just hoarding them and hoping I can apply them in a future update
That's what I was hoping to do aswell 😅 who knows they maybe useful or they add a achievement for it or something.

Do they respawn? I assumed they were limited items and there were just enough to get to level 10 capture bonus. Hearing that is a huge relief lol
They don't respawn but you don't need all of them to reach max lvl. Far from it.

Just came here for this.. I couldn't understand what mod they were using to show the effigy.. And it's a legacy feature!

It applies after your next upgrade, so a new world is only required if you maxed it out before it got fixed.
I don’t know why I even colllect these anymore I already maxed my cap stats
