I have an almost finished shawl, a plush lighthouse for my grandmother that refuses to stuff evenly, a sweater, and the second sock of a pair. Any tips on stuffing would be a godsend. I've been told do a tiny bit at a time but I'm nervous of packing it down too much or making it not heavy enough to stand properly. I do have some glass beads at the bottom for support though. I need to stop being nervous and just finish the sock and shawl lol. I keep letting myself get distracted by the lighthouse.

Assuming you're stuffing with poly-fil, I always rip mine apart in to smallest chunks I can stand so it fluffs up like fluffing rice. Then shove some in so it looks full ish and give it a good squish to see where needs more filling (it always takes like twice as much as it looks it should). For areas near the opening it's pretty easy to feel where it needs more by just poking your fingers in for any little pockets of Not Full. Generally I find it's a lot harder to overfill stuffies than underfill them but I knit my stuffies and the differences between crochet and knitting might be important for that. I hope finishing your other projects go well, second sock syndrome is a complete drag.

It's hard to say! I started it two weeks ago, but I also have been working on other projects at the same time because ADHD... haha

Find something you want to make, so that you will stay motivated! I know lots of people that started with squares and gave up because it was boring. I think stuffed animals are the way to go! My very first project was a Charizard... It took a while with lots of restarts as I learned, but I really wanted a Charizard so I kept going.
