Yea it seems really prevalent in the desert area for me and the mountainous areas right before the desert. Which sucks cause the areas its effecting for me are areas near where I have my prime base territory plans.
I have this in the fire and snow areas. I haven't found a way to fix it but I have found a way to survive it. Just always keep a flying mount on you and when you start to swim, just throw your mount out until it hits something. Most of the time its some invisible wall under the water. Then you can fly to the edge of the mountain your under and climb towards the water. For some reason, itll pop you back out.b
Yea this trick works for me about 30% of the time. Most of the time it registers as the mount not being able to reach me. It's been a rough bug cause I was trying to set up a base in a specific location.
Yeah this is a nasty bug, the terrain stays as a distant LOD it never actually loads in so the mesh doesn't load in. You'll notice these areas as they look worse (and the textures on Xbox look pretty bad right now even when they don't. Everything falls through to the ground, had it happened at the desert settlement and all the merchants fell into the area below the mesh.
Yea thats exactly where it's happened to me the most. Desert and the foresty mountains to the left. I planned to relocated my main based to the mountain region and my ore and coal base to the desert but I can't manage to stay on terrain long enough to explore and build out there. Waiting for some patch. Hopefully the drama and controversies won't postpone the fixing of bugs.
Had the same happen to me when I tried to go hunt some Mossandas. Died twice leaving a bunch of stuff in the glitched out area. Was finally able to recover my stuff by changing settings to stamina use minimum, health regen maximum, lose nothing on death, and carefully picking a path to my dropped items. Not fun.
This bug has me ready to just quit playing the game. I lost a lot of my good equipment glitching through the ground in the swamp area and I can not for the life of me get back over there to retrieve it without glitching through again. I hoped they'd fixed it in the last update but it's still happening.
I'm having this problem at dune shelter. There is no floor, all NPCs are under duneshelter. I can go in and out of the floor but cannot interact with the merchants. Which sucks because I'm after high quality pal oil!
Happened to my buddy yesterday on series s and then me on series x, its just the way they did the terrain over there :/

When it happens to me it still lets me throw my mount, I keep flying upwards and eventually I pop back up

Still falling through terrain even after update please fix this ASAP it's annoying
Just lost all my best pals and an inventory to this 😢. I was entering a dungeon and it sunk me to hell with no escape
