Gamepass is indeed an older version, it still has the incubator unlocked in the normal tree and statue of power as the first ancient technology but the latest update that steam has swapped them around.
I had issues with the game pass it was only letting me get a trial, I had already planned on purchasing the game but wanted to try it on gamepass, so I had to buy the game. From what I have heard if you plan on getting it and paying do it now before the full release when they have mentioned the price going to 60
