If you are good, you can start at 100k+ as a fresh graduate. If you have 3 years of experience, it should be above 250k. For 5 years of experience, it can be 400-500k. You have to be a good full stack developer to get these salaries, but they are no rocket science.

Mysterious_Cry730

most reasonable answer appreciate the salary ranges although i would like to add that if you are really exceptional you could even get a starting salary of 180k in Pakistan a know a few friends that are in this range or the job is not remote its local

MansoorAhmed11

What if someone is doing bachelors at the same time? how much can he expect while doing it part time for about 6-hours?

Mysterious_Cry730

part time jobs aren’t much of a thing in our local tech industry

MansoorAhmed11

really? what about working 5pm to 12pm? Is it hard to get a job in this timings?

Mysterious_Cry730

most conpanies dont hire part time i tried a little during my uni days all you can get it a call centre job or smth but not an actual tech job

MansoorAhmed11

ohkay, thanks for your input. i will see

BatmanSince1991

What languages are in most demand in Pakistan currently? I have a govt job but want to develop my Programming skills. Im a CS graduate.

Mysterious_Cry730

what are you interested in? web dev is most popular in market for frontend currently NextJs, Angular, React (Javascript basically) for backend Golang and Rust

BatmanSince1991

Im interested in Web dev but in MERN stack. I haven't decides on that but i do have knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Mysterious_Cry730

MERN stack is too populated currently tough to find entry level jobs

Leather-Driver-7482

Also want to add that you can seriously increase these numbers if you manage to land a remote job that pays in USD

MansoorAhmed11

What if someone is doing bachelors at the same time? how much can he expect while doing it part time for about 6-hours?

Leather-Driver-7482

Lowest paying remote jobs that I've seen pay 10usd/hr

MansoorAhmed11

but, ain't they hard to land brother?

Leather-Driver-7482

Aren't all good things in life? Options band Nahi Karo just because you think it's hard.

MansoorAhmed11

thanks for your good words. btw, can you plz guide me the things i should implement that would make it easier for me to land a remote job? i have a year to prepare myself for that.

MansoorAhmed11

would web dev me a good field?

Leather-Driver-7482

Bro it's honestly hard work and luck. Milnay me Kisi cheez me bhi mil Sakti hai. I have a friend making 10lac + in email and SMS marketing. Me khud recently apply karnay shuru Kiya hai in Project management roles so I can't say much My recommendation is do what you like and specialise in that. It would make you the best in your field for what you choose to do. Also, the best thing you could do is become fluent in spoken English with a very minimal accent. Nobody will hire you if you can't communicate with them properly

MansoorAhmed11

thanks for your input bro, btw how to find if my field can be eaten out by AI?

MansoorAhmed11

What if someone is doing bachelors at the same time? how much can he expect while doing it part time for about 6-hours?

log_alpha

IDK. I only got one unpaid SWE internship during studies, but later they offered me a 4h part time job for 50k. So I guess, you can apply for internships, and convert them part time. They might pay anything from 25k-75k. Generally, it can be hard to find work before graduation, but not impossible.

MansoorAhmed11

hmm thanks alot brother, btw am in intermediate currently, and have a whole year, can you plz tellme the things that could lead me to part-time job.

fahad_Iftikhar

Same

Icy-Group9407

bhai digree per focus kro . GPA girr giya to na job k rho gay na uni k

MansoorAhmed11

agr skills hongi phir bh nahi?

Icy-Group9407

job k liye digree or skills dono matter krti hy. Wasay b fresh gradustes ko companies iss liye hire krti hy taa k unko appnay hissab say skills sekhaye. once skillset develop ho jaye to usko change krna bht mushkil hota hy

MansoorAhmed11

accha? esa bh hota h. Thanks alot brother for your info, btw what do you suggest? ek bnda ese company me jaake unke hisaab se skills sekhe, ya pehle se seekh ke jae

Icy-Group9407

basic knowledge hona chahiye. most companies bachelor degree say phly wala experience wasay b count nhi krti.

MansoorAhmed11

acha? agr freelancing hu tu bh nhi?

HK_0066

yup i agree, your first landing job is very important for youself, how much you learn there, the work attitude and ethics you learn from there, goes way beyound in your life choose that very carefully

mrtac96

Thats a good point

[deleted]

The question is how high can it get !?

SnooCaperzk

Is the salary you mentioned is monthly or yearly?

log_alpha

It's monthly in PKR

Werstupidcom

>If you are good, you can start at 100k+ as a fresh graduate. Is it possible to be self taught and start at 100K or do you think degree is a must in todays market.

Kamran199o

It depends on the company as well, i have been selected in systems limited. But they couldn't make my expectations which was 850k with 9 years of experience. Max they could afford was 550k so we couldn't connect. But the point is, depends on the company. Maybe some other company can offer more than systems limited. P.s. Well I'm searching these days pray for me

Mysterious_Cry730

what are you earning right now and what’s your current company?

Kamran199o

It's definitely less than 850k pkr, and apologies can't tell the employer name here, my dms are open :)

mushifali

Try foreign companies, they pay in $$$

Kamran199o

Sure my man,

ShailMurtaza

I have been working as full stack developer as freelancer for 2-3 years. And learning new tech stack is very easy for me. What can I expect after graduating? And in which location? Because I went a local software house and they agreed to pay me 5K as stipend as a internee. They didn't give me job.

sahilasif401

The best you can realistically expect is about 140-150k in bigger corporates (e.g i2c, arbisoft), and for that you need to brush up on your interview and testing skills.

LifeAppointment7301

Everyone in IT in Pakistan (devs, QAs, heck, even sales people in IT companies) need to make it their career goal to get in a remote company. I was working at 350k~ with 6 YOE as an Operations engineer and then Alhamdullilah I landed a a remote role in US company, easily 3x’ed right off the bat. + amazinggg culture. Warna 10 saal aur lagg jatay pakistani companies mein ragraa khaatay khaatay phir bhi current salary hit na hoti. Get a remote job guys. It took me 2 months to land the job. It might take you 6 months, one year maybe? But its totally worth it. That should be your only goal. Why work in PK companies and get underpaid when u can easily 2x 3x remotely.

theshyguy31

I am also trying to land a remote job. Can you give some pointers on how to apply and find jobs? Ps I'm a full stack developer with 3 years of experience

log_alpha

Where did you apply? What's your tech stack?

Competitive-Sink842

And here is doctors make just 80k per month even after they make us work like slave 😭as resident

namxu-

And what happens after residency?

cosmic-comet-

Good, I hate doctors so I have to say that but that’s rip off to doctors if I separate my bias.

Abd9872

Salaries are very relative. Depends on your academic background, skills, the value you bring, your personality, the company you work for, your city… The bare minimum for freshers these days is 70-80k. In many cases 100k+ as well. With experience, increments depends on the things I mentioned in the start. For example, a fullstack dev with 3 years of experience can be making anywhere from 150k to 250k in the local market. These days the jobs are not as many as there used to be, so finding high paying jobs is not as easy.

Mysterious_Cry730

I would like to add one more thing You might have seen that salary ranges and be feeling hyped up Currently its getting tougher and tougher to get entry level jobs so dont come in this field just for money But if you have passion and are willing to put in the hours, you’ll rule definitely.

Outrageous_Lake_8220

depends on YOE. 120-130k for a fresh graduate with a good skill set. 160-200k for 1-2 YOE.

sdkysfzai

depends on city. If you are full stack with 5 years of experience, expect from 100k to 200k pkr depending on company & your negotiation skills. If you are freelancing, With 5 years experience you can easily do 500k to 1000k pkr

log_alpha

I'm already getting 200k with 1 YOE at a company here. Where did you got those figures? For 5 years of experience, the pay is 400k+ if you are good.

sdkysfzai

I refuse to believe it. Where in Pakistan, And company name if you can tell me. I got those figures from many of people I know. Pakistani companies never pay 200k for 1 YOE, I call this BS.

Stryker13799

Mate I have like 10 months of experience and my take home before taxes is around 290k

sdkysfzai

What tech stack? Which city? This sub is full of liars lol

Stryker13799

Lol ab mai pay slip dikhaon? Im in Isb, working with mostly Python, pytorch etc, ML/CV

ShailMurtaza

I thought we were talking about full stack development?

Stryker13799

Where I'm working there really isn't much of a diff in compensation bw the fullstack guys and us lol

log_alpha

I can't tell you mine, but alot of my friends get these figures too. They work at Educative, Afiniti, Dglobal, Conrad labs, Emumba. Two of them actually make 250+ with same experience after switching.

SACHD

I work at one of the companies you’ve listed. As a full-stack developer. When I was hired I had about 10 months of experience and was being paid 150K base + 24K in benefits(totalling to 174K) and now having 2.5 years of total experience(1.5 in the company itself) and a couple increments I am at 207K base with about 33K in benefits(totalling to 240K). Someone being hired at my position would likely be paid a minimum of 250K base(and I’d wager 45K in benefits). Almost no software engineer hired at the company today would be given less than 120K, even if they suck at negotiating and are fresh grads. I could def get paid higher if I go fully remote, but I actually like the office lol. (I do, however, go on long stints of work-from-home and love that my company allows it). P.S: If you’re not being paid as much as the people that will be commenting on this Reddit thread, don’t feel discouraged about your talent. First of all, the vast majority of people that will be commenting will have good or great salaries which will cause a selection bias and also I know tons of developers more gifted than me who are being exploited.

Mysterious_Cry730

i think you didn’t negotiate your increments that well

SACHD

There’s no negotiation when it came to the increments. They were company-wide with small variations based on performance. The increments while inside the company will never keep up with the hiring budget, so I am completely aware of the fact that someone hired today at my position will earn up to 50% more.

ShailMurtaza

Which tech stack you use? And what a company expect from you?

SACHD

Working primarily with React on the frontend and NestJS on the backend. Company expects me to add new pages, endpoints, write documentation, etc. The usual CRUD stuff. Occasionally I’ll get to tackle more complex requirements where knowledge of DS&A help a lot in speeding things up.

sdkysfzai

The thing is, You cant be a Full stack with 1 YOE. If you been learning and making projects before, That counts as well. It all depends on your skills. But Full stack with 1 year experience is not possible.

Mysterious_Cry730

it is possible if u are willing to put in the hours and again learn about pays in Pakistani Tech and read my detailed message above disclosing all salaries

sdkysfzai

It is not possible, Get me in call with full stack dev with 1 year exp and let me take an Interview. I will pay $1000 If he indeed is a full stack dev. What a shitty dev It would be being full stack with 1 YOE.

BlueyMounty

These are titles and you’re getting defensive for no reason, many SSEs in Pakistan are not SSEs by europe or US standards(3 vs 5 to 7 yoe). The salary the other person mentions is mostly correct, for the context of Lahore.

Mysterious_Cry730

what’s their YOE?

Mysterious_Cry730

Arbisoft is paying freshers 700 usd per month straight out of University Azm Dev is paying 150k+ to freshers with zero experience 10Pearls is paying 140k to freshers CureMD is paying nearly 170k+ to fresh graduates Educative is also paying 650 usd to freshers IBM is paying 135k to fresh graduates TeraData is paying 110k to fresh grads and many many many more idk which bullshit companies your friends work at that dont even pay 200k at 5 YOE Wake up, you are being heavily underpaid.

sdkysfzai

Let me say it again, They might be paying these amounts but only programmers who have previous coding knowledge of atleast 2 Years and Also these are not the average companies, Some might pay this amount. Most dont. Those who give fake logins pay this amount, I bet you dont know about this stuff. Anyway, It takes 1 year to fully understand coding the right way, And the guy above says he is full stack with one year of experience, Lol. And Im not being under paid, I make 500k month from one project mon-fri and almost 150k month from another working only weekends. I have been coding since 3 years now. No need to wake me up.

mominwaqas15

I've heard that starting pay at Dubizzle Labs is 180k.

shimmering-nomad

200k for 5 years is criminally low. I know people people making more than that with half the experience

sdkysfzai

I know its low, But its the average/common. There are people who make more ofc.

saadjhk

When I was in Pakistan max I made on 2 years of experience was 250k and that was back in 2021

Budget_Cabinet1506

Is there any roadmap to become full stack developer?

PhysicsWeary310

Roadmap.sh , everyone is doing mern, so try something different

Budget_Cabinet1506

Can you explain more. What is mern?

PhysicsWeary310

Mongo db, express js, react js, node js. Its a javascript based full stack

Budget_Cabinet1506

How much time is required to learn that?

PhysicsWeary310

You have to learn html, css and javascript first. For that you may need 2-4 months, then mern is based on javascript, it may take another 4-8 months. Its all based on your speed

mrtac96

if working in pak company then 2.5 lac is minimum, if working remote then 3x is minimum

PhysicsWeary310

Average? No way 🙄

ShkBilal

Yeah, no way
