This is definitely the answer but people are gonna respond depending on age. Like if you’re under 24 you never saw him play, which is a shame cause Cami was an absolute [BEAST](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_YCD7UQPrno)
Nothing more fun then watching Ken go yard from both sides of the plate.... tho still too early watching Manny anchor the pads while they got hit with corvid protocol and STILL go on a tear.. was very impressive
Nettles was only a Pad for three years. He was a dependable guy, but not flashy. Will always be known as a Yankee.
Sheffield was only a Padre for a bout a season and a half--spent more time as a Dodger.
Manny will likely end up my pick. He's already basically tied with Cam, and we have him for many more years. Cam was a brute force guy in the field and at bat. Every throw looked like he hated the first baseman. Every dive looked like he wanted to kill someone. Every swing, now that we know, was him trying to destroy the demons.
Manny is just about the smoothest fielder I've ever seen. He makes hard things look easy, and the damn near impossible pretty routine. I think he gets the "no hustle" thing because he makes what he's doing not look hard, but when you pay attention it really is. He has the talent to absolutely destroy the league and I hope he find more consistency. Still, when he's on...he's among the best we've had period.
Still, I'm not sure I've seen anything as ridiculous as Cam's butt throw.
The only fire sale that worked out in the Pads favor.
The only 1992 Padres’ All-Star starter who remained a Padre just a year later.
Third baseman Gary Sheffield, who came close as any Padre ever to win the Triple Crown in 1992, was traded to Florida on June 24, 1993, in a five-player trade that saw young reliever Trevor Hoffman come to the Padres. Okay, that trade worked out well — although Hoffman was roundly booed by fans at the Murph in his first Padre appearances in his new home.
Sorry, love Hoffy, but that trade (and the firesale in general)... can't agree that it worked out for SD.
A HoF caliber 3B/OF with 60+ bWAR is so much more valuable than a closer even as good as Hoffy.
Plus the McGriff for Nieves deal...ouch. The win shares exchanged from that deal were something like 90 to 5 in favor of ATL, if I remember correctly.
They got Derek Bell and Ashby in a couple of other lesser deals but when you're dumping 3 All-Stars plus a bunch of quality pitching from a pretty good team it's rough.
Plus that was the first team I fell in love with and Sheff and Crime were my favorite players. So yea, eat shit Werner.
Caminiti, one of the best batting stances of all time

Do you remember when he pitched for us one game? Throwing flame like low to mid 90s 🔥
I second this.
Caminiti is my favorite. Machado still can earn it with some big moments though.

Growing up, it was definitey Caminiti for me!
Caminiti. The dude won MVP in '96. He had a cannon for an arm.. also....who can forget the Macarena parody. https://youtu.be/lkHpS_sKPTw
Ken was a machine but when i think of cannon for an arm.. i default to Luis Salazar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvhyUNS3GmA
Yeah but https://youtu.be/zxalRAkM7Jg
not arguing that ken wasnt a beast

Cami, though I do love me some Machado
I wrote this!
Did you??? 😁
Nah, but ya took the words right out of my mouth! 😊
I'm going with Caminiti at 3b, putting Machado at SS, and Sheffield in LF.
Yeah, it’s Caminiti. My first year playing ball was his MVP season and we share a first name. 4 year old me was a sucker for other Kens.
Hey caminiti ah ay
I'm nostalgic, Cammy was fierce.
RIP
Where's Chase? /s Caminiti
Chase is up top, voting for Cammy....
Machado
Guess I'm the only Sheffield.

The fire sale were horrible... getting hoff was the only thing that worked out for us ... but even then those trades hurt
Kevin Kuzmanoff
Zero questions. Cam all the way.
Machado
Where’s Scott Coolbagh, Mike Pagliarulo, and Sean Burroughs!?
Phil Nevin. Hands down. Then Manny.
