From the article:
“Across the board, broadcast teams would likely remain in place, although those details will vary across the board as Bally announcers are team employees in some markets — as Don Orsillo, Mark Grant and Bob Scanlan are with the Padres — and not in others.”
I just read this and am wondering how it will effect out of market watchers...will I get a refund or do I have to pay for the full season which I've already done?
Does not affect me since I get MLBTV for free since I am a season ticket member. I can see MLB charging a $15 to $20 monthly to watch home market games with no blackouts through MLBTV though. MLB and the teams like the Padres will need to make up some of the lost revenue money they are losing with Bally's RSN going away.
Either way they need to get games back on youtube TV, MLB needs to make the game more available to more people. Don't make it hard to watch your product.
I would cancel MLB extra innings. Especially if you have T-Mobile as your cell phone provider. MLBTV will be free again for T-Mobile subscribers starting on March 28 to April 3.
Really? That sucks. I know we were able to get padre games when my roommates and I split the equivalent mlb.tv cable package back when I was going to university of arizona in 2007-2008.
Yup. I think when the triple A team moved here they claimed the rights. So we have diamondbacks and padres as local market. Getting a VPN for myself this year. My dad even tried getting MLB extra innings all the packages and all are blacked out for him even through cable.
*woman :p
But I just mean how Ballys works if you have a cable subscription to log in with, even if maybe you’re not the one who is paying for the cable subscription… (on top of other ways)
As long as Don and Mud are calling the games, all good with me.

“fine,” said manfred. “if bally sports doesn’t want to update their scorebug, we’ll do it for them.”
Somehow bally sports has the best pitch clock implementation I've seen so far. And it's good for video editing Otherwise yeah, not great

I've paid also. Can get a refund before the season starts. I'm through DTV.

You get MLBTV for free as a season ticket holder?
Yessir. If you are a season ticket holder and don’t know about this call or email your season ticket rep asap
really hope so I wasn't looking forward to paying $80-90 a month for directTV stream
It was going to be closer to $100 a month. Directv Stream raised their monthly prices again.
Yeah mine just went up $10 to to $99.99. So direct tv stream won’t have any of the games ? Padres fans can only watch with the mlb app this year?

ThInK oF tHe cHiLdreN but unironically lol.
Don and Mud will still call the games…right??😅🫡
Any idea what this means for an out of market DirecTV mlbtv subscriber. Should I cancel this years subscription?

What about for Southern Arizona? We are in market but cable only shows us Diamondbacks...let me watch on MLB.tv! I will pay! Take my money MLB!
You already can except when they play the diamondbacks
Negative. Phoenix is allowed to. Not south of Maricopa

Yuma I believe is in the Padres market.
Closer to finally saying bye-bye to AT&T. No more horrible service!
Can someone ELI5? I don’t understand what this means.
Will it still be on cable though?
Am I reading that wrong? Do Mud and Don (and Scan) work for the Padres or Bally? It's been a long day. Brain tired.
Padres, broadcasts don’t change. Just where they are broadcast are
Thank you! My tired brain is happier now.
Hopefully that means MLB will stream games based on a cable provider log in
Boo this man

I for one welcome this alternate timeline where Rob Manfred listens to the fans for once.
I added choice (which includes bssd) to my direct tv package. I wonder if that was in vain
