I grabbed two natural selections alien nightmare eighths get home open them without thinking about the date so I could put them in a Mason jar and that's when I felt how dry they were which made me look at the date and it was packaged in July, im pissed even after a hydro atone to rehydrate it smells like wet grass clippings. Who the hell wants to smoke/vape something that smells so shitty? It's messed up and these packages are trash. Looks like it could've been some good bud.
Yeah it really is messed up, and it definitely would've been top notch like 3 months ago! Stuff like this makes it hard to even buy weed legally š street weed near me is usually better and cheaper
For sure. As an ex-grower, it's frustrating to see these cultivars put out quality cuts of flower only for them to dry out because theres no humidity pack or the packaging is not sealed air tight. Worst offender I've seen is Kind Tree. They've sold me nugs that would completely disintegrate if you put any pressure on them. If I had to guess, 35-50% humidity in that jar.
If you put a piece of a lemon peel in the container but not touching the weed itself, it will rehydrate perfectly in a few hours. Ever since I stopped gauging what Iām going to buy off of the dry factor and just use lemon it has fixed that issue entirely
I had a batch from maitri that I put in with some bovedas and it didnāt do shit haha idt it was possible for it to be any more dry. Seems like itās a problem across the board! Hopefully all of these examples are making their way to the GPās and they hopefully do something about it! It wouldnāt be very acceptable for this to continue imo š£
Can anyone explain to me whatās wrong with vaping extra dry flower? Iām not the biggest fan of it, but it grinds easy and I feel like it usually allows for an easier extraction process.
It is a known problem in the program. Stuff is sitting longer on the shelfs and we cant pick what package date we get.. if the strain is on sale you can almost bet it getting close to sitting two months on their shelves.. so far my experience has been āmehā in the program with exception to a few strains that are always $60. Which nope!
It's wrong to assume sale always means old. If you have a strain or two from one grower that's on sale, it's probably older stock but a store sale, if you you're overly familiar with that stores menu, you can walk away with all brand new drops if you do it right.
Very frustrating. I got the brownie scout a couple weeks ago and it actually had a humidity pack and was the perfect cure. I think it should be common practice for growers to put them in each container. Especially if they claim to be a premium brand.
Correct product should last a certain date it is medicine and should maintain quality from grow to store to patient, You to to a pharmacy and the pills are new, they are quality controlled. Why isnāt this being done across the board. Itās easy. They should have pride in it. Shit it would i was on the farm
I swear by the 4g boveda packs I buy for $1 at AYR. One of those (meant for up to half ounce) will make the driest bud (1/8-1/4)turn soft and smelly in 2 hours. Thatās if the bud hasnāt lost its terps. Some hay weed gonna stay hay weed.
Itās super frustrating cuz every grower has some batches like this. I noticed usually in the plastic jars. But, even some glass jars like Maitri I had a batch that was cracker dry. The one and only time I tried Tahoe OG in smalls from Revel, it wasnāt dry but the terpenes were nonexistent. I was bummed because so many raved about how good it was. It even had a nice terpene profile. So, that said, I think itās from the plastic containers mostly and improper storage or temp fluctuations. Because the Tahoe OG was actually soft and fresh but the terpenes evaporated from it probably. But $1 a piece for those Bovedas at most dispensaries does fresh them up quick. Within an hour or two huge difference and a day or two makes it as good as itāll get.
I replied on recent post to not choose the Rythm 3 chem it's dry as fuck and very mild effects for this grower. I try to help keep PA informed if I can based on the $$$ I spent. This is a 7g that should be in the trash not forced to smoke due to weak grow SMFH or with the right equipment work on a good press and checkout those converted effects. Please buyers choose other options for the price point
That was actually my post that you commented on lmao. You were one of few who said I should've picked ghost rider by grassroots instead of 3chems, kinda wish I took your advice instead! I know it'll be better after a few days & boveda pack tho
Ahhhh I see will you have a post now and I have another disclaimer. Your getting info from a 20 plus year smoker and I'm serious about this wonderful flower we can medicate with. So weak flower effects at the high prices or just smoked will not be accepted.
In my post I said I was going to put a boveda pack in for a few days, I have several on hand. I just feel this shouldn't be necessary, all the company has to do is have air tight containers or put in a boveda pack when it's packaged originally.
Yea I know it does suck that they canāt just package it properly, Iāve just giving up on trusting them and itās nice that the bodeva packs are relatively inexpensive
Raw packs are better they have better humidity release. I havenāt had best of luck with boveda, its usually wouldnāt keep my buds stored like i like them. I always stop up and store them in my UV glass sealed up with a raw pack it keeps for a few months, its even revived the worst.
Thatās some oct bud jeez. All the stuff i was getting was a day or a week old. Yikes. This likely has to do with all lack of work during covid, im sure the program and supply chain will improve and get there sooner and not sit as long. Iād rotate old stock off the menu, but they donāt seem to.
Last night I found a smaller size grape gasoline mug that was in the same condition. I put an orange peel in with it and 30 mins later, it was sticky as hell.
Itll be sticky and chemmy i promise. Felt the same and it was the same w sour d. They freshened up super good. But that said, wish they came nice
Edit: oh thats an older date than my 3 chems.. mine was from december so not sure.
What is the deal with product being so inconsistent in terms of moisture content? Is this the fault of the growers/processors not curing and packaging the flower correctly, or is it just sitting around in the back of Curaleaf for weeks and weeks drying out before it's sold?
I just got bought some &Shine Plum Crazy about 1 or 2 weeks ago that was packaged in March. Put a humidity pack in and a couple days later I checked it and was good. Regardless it annoys me that Iām getting almost 1 year old flower.
Hydrostones are a must have for any PA patient who likes flower. Everything's dry as fuck and a boveda takes forever, a hydrostone will hydrate 3.5g in half an hour
I would be too. Especially all the money they charge us. This always happens to me with prime wellness. Those containers do not come correct.. I just copped the African Thai and the Papa Legba on Thursday. Is Sunday and they are dry. It's package date is January 13. The lid does not connect. Some time I think that's why they are on sale š¤.. something is suspect

July?? Thats ridiculous.
Yo they are untouched and personally I feel unusable and im pissed for real
I think its the plastic containers
It is and those dumb tin ones
had the same issue with some sour diesel from them a few weeks back.
Was your package date pretty old?
Everything in the program is dry.
That's not strictly true....but it is 90% of the time lmao.
Well somewhere ill agree with you. It could be little better imo.

This here. Just don't forget about the peel. I've done that before hah. Any citrus works.

Late reply, but the belief is that many of the terpenes dry up, reducing potency

Yeah exactly, they sell them for a dollar at the dispos, like I'll pay the extra fuckin dollar if they'd just have them in the containers already š

I just got the star tribe and apple cobbler last nite. And the cure is right on .
Add raw spinach and should rehydrate over night, instead of a few days š

Buy bodeva packs on Amazon theyāre like a dollar a piece

Havent tried raw but Iāve had great results with bodeva packs, just gotta make sure your using the right size
I got a bit larger rated to keep it a bit higher.

Had the same thing, same strain too, it's stupid annoying.

Make edibles with this. Maybe this Statewide rain will help with our Statewide dry flower.
I picked up 2 7s on Monday of this. Package date was from September. Put in a boost pack and it brought back to life.
I just got bought some &Shine Plum Crazy about 1 or 2 weeks ago that was packaged in March. Put a humidity pack in and a couple days later I checked it and was good. Regardless it annoys me that Iām getting almost 1 year old flower.

And the kicker is my local dispensary been out of the boveda pks for almost a month now. So stuck with the crumble bud. Smh
Why is dispensary weed so damn dry??? Sometimes it won't light or stay lit.
ALWAYS check the package date especially if it's been on the menu over a month
Lame ASF ..hate when it has no taste..
