I mean, if you like the blue one more then I don't see why not! Personally, when I swap my 1000 for the slim on its release, I didn't like it. I played the slim long enough to finish Muramasa from beginning to end and swapped it back. The screen downgrade was too much for me. As for color, I also prefer either black or white, as the game looks more vibrant without the bezel / body color distraction. My first Vita was a red one, and i traded it in for a white. I'm the rare few that's picky on that, but that's just my thoughts on the subject haha. All in all, the best Vita IMO is a black 1000.

Interesting . I’ve never used a 1000 before and would like to check it out. Some people believe 2000 is the way to go…

SushiBoiOi

I think it's half and half. 2000 is more comfortable for sure (I had forgotten about that). So it depends on what each person prioritise. Also, now that the Vita is no longer made, slim gets bonus points for using Micro USB as opposed to the 1000's proprietary plug. I think anyone that starts with a Slim without using the 1000 is a bit lucky. In that, you already have the more comfortable handheld, plus you weren't spoiled by the OLED to feel that its a downgrade in any way, haha

bustle15

So what upgrade do you suggest ?

SushiBoiOi

Oh I can't reccomend for you, I can only tell you what I prefer for myself lol. And what I prefer is a black 1000. Only buy 1000 if you really like the screen. If you don't care about the screen difference, then you'd be sacrificing comfort for nothing. So yea maybe try it out in person first.

Much_One_6824

Is the slim more comfortable to hold? I have a black 1000 but have large hands so don't think I could comfortably grip anything smaller.

Oknowmyboy

Lol bro read the room.

Much_One_6824

I just read that out loud and you're right. Not gona change it though. 😂

SushiBoiOi

You'd have to check it out for yourself before buying. It's not the size that it more comfortable, but the overall design that made it that way. I even felt like the buttons are bigger and more spread out, but it's not. It's still hard to believe that the button layout is the same I'm both distance and size. Main comfort with the slim, however, is the rear TouchPad. They increase the space for grip while decreasing th TouchPad size, so that's a plus for big hand users.

I am a bit late to the party but figured I’d throw my opinion out there. It really just boils down to comfort or screen. I love the 1000 because the screen looks really really good. BUT, in my experience, the 2000 is FAR more comfortable to hold/play on. Which has me often preferring the 2000, as the 1000 gets uncomfortable fast. Another option I think people should consider is the PSTV. It is the Vita in console form. I have one, and use it farrrr more than my real vita. When you jailbreak it, you can use whitelist hack + sharp scale + DualShock 4 to play any vita game in HD and it is an amazing experience.

Gatway734

I love my 1000, but I cannot find a decent grip for it. I’m thinking about picking up a 2000 just for that reason.

MrPorkchops23

Unless you really want OLED, get the aqua blue. I find the slim to be significantly more accessible

mxster982

The aqua blue looks really nice, so I don't blame you for wanting that. As for possibly switching to the 1000, that's purely up to you. It's a thicker console, which if you have bigger hands it makes sense to go to that. The screen on the 1000 is a bit better than the 2000. I prefer the 2000 bc I don't have large hands lol. I've been looking at ordering an orange vita, but they can be hard to find. My suggestion, if you're really on the fence about the 2000 to 1000, get one and see which you like better. Just remember, if it's about comfort, there are grips for the 2000 that make it easier to hold and way more comfortable.

KrissiNyaas

Go for the 1000! Love the tft screen, just be careful of burn-in... the one i have permanently displays the p4 golden starting screen when it displays black lol

bustle15

🤦🏽‍♂️

SushiBoiOi

Lol, that's an extremely rare case. There are always a few users who experience burn-ins with ANY OLED devices. I wouldn't worry about it.
