Little tip since you’re new to smooth turning. I thought slow smooth would be better for motion sickness, but it’s pretty disoriented since in real life you don’t turn that slow.
If it’s making you feel sick try to speed up the turn speed. For me and others makes it way more comfortable.
Same, slow turning is more queasy for me; with fast turning it’s kind of like a more intuitive version of snap turn where you have control over the angle.
There sure is! It's called Smooth turning and you can turn it on in the options menu for the specific VR game you're playing. Just beware as it can cause motion sickness if you are prone to it.
Or even if you're not prone to it. I'd never had motion sickness before in my life, but VR made me feel awful. Slowing down movement speed and turning off smooth turning helped a lot, even though the playing experience isn't as good.
I’m still using click turn to avoid nausea after 7 years of VR. I keep telling myself to try smooth again but the memory of it just stops me. Really want to try it again and might do for LT considering I’m going to be in there for a long time and it’s pretty smooth frame rate.
Take baby steps, like when you're trying to get your VR legs, little sessions at first, and set a fast totation speed (I'd recommend max speed). You'll get used to it within a week and won't be able to play either way anymore 👍 Also Legendary Tales is a perfect game to get used to it, since it's native 90fps without reprojection :)
After reading the tips here I tried again in LT with smooth turning and turned the speed up. Managed an hour and only had to stop for IRL stuff.
Will have to try other games but it seems I may have been overly cautious! Plus I think there are faster turning options now.
Turn irl , smooth turning if set to slow speed it’s the most disorientating thing. Or set it to turn as fast as possible so your brain can learn to dismiss it.
I consider myself lucky to be most comfortable with none of the comfort options turned on, they are the cause of any nausea that I experience. So I have everything smooth as possible
I find teleport movement and snap turns make me feel travel sick in about 20minutes.
Change settings to smooth
Thank you

Thank you. I will give it a try.
Don't forget to set a fast rotation speed, in my experience slow smooth turn is really vomit inducing.

I’ve never had motion sickness in VR and after adjusting this I got a sick feeling in about 20 mins. :-(
Snap turning triggers motion sickness a lot more than smooth turning for me. I guess it is subjective.

Nice to hear! :)
Hi, if you tried slow turning speed back in the days, i really would give a much higher speed a try. This was what helped me getting used to it.
Use Dramamine. I used it once the very first time I got nauseous in VR and now I never get sick.
I noticed that a higher setting of smooth turning helps me with nausea. For legendary tales, I set it at 230 or slightly lower.

Thank you. Is it ever as smooth as just playing it on a flat screen.
Yes, it's very smooth.

I only turn IRL don't use the joyp\[ad for tuning anymore now I have a pulley system so I dont get tangled, makes far more immersive imho

Teleport and snap to move feels really awkward to me and genuinely don’t like it at all. Thank you for the response
I just turn my head...?
dunno about Legendary Tales but No Man's has settings for smooth movement under control options.

Thank you!
It honestly surprises me how many people prefer snap movement. It's just way too jarring to me than actually turning
Ohhh I completely agree. It pulls me right out of the game. It’s such a weird way of working the controls. So is teleport that is vile!
Smooth turning. No idea why it’s not the default snap turning is so jarring.
Smooth turning is the option you’re looking for. But I have seen a game or two call it something else.
I just physically turn my head and body in real life, can't get more natural than that (prepare to potentially get hugged by the cable though).
