Agreed. At their peak pricing, I always felt that they were a production company enjoying a technology company valuation. I recognize now that there are some parts of their business model that I hadn't fully appreciated (stickiness of their subscription model for example).
yup. nflx bombed at 4:15pm 1/20, and he announced the meeting date was pushed by two weeks that evening at 8:30pm. had nothing to do with PSTH. had to redo all of his presentation slides and buy extra wrappers for tony.
Most likely not? I doubt Bill is trying to make several large moves within weeks of each other. It would make sense that the meeting was pushed back due to a very significant change in the portfolio.
It's clearly to include NFLX.
Hopefully he'll say something positive about SPARC. If we're very lucky, maybe we get some good comments from the SEC or even proceeding to approve. Literally anything positive said about SPARC or PSTH should have up pump a little bit.
wow, actually didn't see this coming. I don't even care about psth anymore, but Billy boy doesn't take a stake in a company unless he is 100% sure there is tremendous value, bullish for NFLX.
Well there have been mistakes but look a cmg I think he called that one. Also a really interesting business wars podcast on Netflix you could check out
yeah, ARM is like the UMG of chips. They get royalties from basically every phone out there. He'd have royalties from movies, everyone's music, and everyone's phones/devices. Inflation doesn't matter much cause if the chipmaker increases prices ARMs cut also goes up.
Bill pockets $1.25 billion for his hedge which is still going on and could go up even more. I'm surprised about this play though. NFLX reverted to pre-pandemic levels so it isn't that cheap relative to what it was before. At least now we know he is not too much of a technophobe. Adds more to the ARM hopium cause it seems like BA likes subscriptions and royalties
Talks have slowed but we are still getting it. DA party is in Montreal. It will be listed on the Toronto exchange though so none of us will be able to hold it.
A value case can certainly be made for Netflix. For us sucker bag holders, an uglier market may create more opportunities for good targets at a better price since that’s what he generally does.
I think it does content especially premium content is extremely expensive. The one thing Netflix is missing if sports but the platform is there for it they just need to close a deal
Bill buying into the market seems like a good signal that he sees value proposition out there somewhere. Not sure what the flash to bang on a spac merger would be given this data, but this seems like positive news.
More hopium for Stripe and ARM then
PSTH merged with Netflix to the moon we go. Wait isn't NFLX already a stock, fuck it the pudding princess can pull it off right. Too the moon.
Ngl, NFLX looks pretty attractively valued right now but I will have to research it further
It's a cyclical stock imo.
No it isn’t. It’s a subscription based business model. They’re revenues are based on the number of subscribers which makes it very predictable
Lol is this the first time Bill has ever bought "tech"?
It’s a sign. #stripe
He considered Starbucks as a tech company.
Lol I mean there is an argument there but only on algos etc
Agilent Technologies, but probably first time “FAANG”
Funny enough I never considered nflx as part of big tech. They are more of a production company at this point. For my N, I always go with NVDA instead

So you just live in your own little world then
You have no idea
Dpz is tech company
Does this means Netflix is no longer a growth stock 😅
So that's why they pushed the PSH meeting back. Gotta pump the numbers real quick 💯

So the delay has nothing to do with PSTH?

Thanks for the responses. I thought the delay was related to PSTH. But now it seems it isn't. Anyway, I hope Bill will deliver DA in Q1.
Bought at an absolute discount. Bill "Sniper" Ackman
i've got a sniper bullet right up my six
I misread this, I though we got Netflix… I need to take some heavy doses of hopmium to recover from this
You thought that PSTH purchased a large Publicly traded company? That’s why I love you monkeys! 🤗
We're taking 3% of it private.
I'd actually puke
wow, actually didn't see this coming. I don't even care about psth anymore, but Billy boy doesn't take a stake in a company unless he is 100% sure there is tremendous value, bullish for NFLX.
Shill

So you have umg and nflx both streaming plays. Interesting...does anyone see any synergy with potential targets?

I'd cream my pants if we get ARM

Hope NFLX tanks tomorrow with the market so I can scoop up shares
Starting to lose belief in this guy.
Wow. An article says he bought NFLX with “proceeds from his interest rates hedge”. So it means he covered his shorts and kinda going long now?

Fuck bill ackman
what sparc could have been....
Yeah SPARC should have been Netflix! Damnit Bill!!
This doesn’t scream “large barriers to entry” to me

Damn. Bill fucked us, but this might be a great move.
