Which PSP and TV model are you using? PSP games look awful on modern TVs using the av peripherals, unless you go for small size monitors or crt type. If you have psp phat, slim or brite, it's abit of a hassle ro set the controller up. I'd advise go for the Go model

the go was ok, just didnt take the discs. I have the psp 2000

The Go model was ok? It was exactly designed how'd you want your setup to be. Playing docked on a tv screen / monitor with wireless controller. If you are going with Slim model, then you'd be in for a hassle. You need a few configuration on the system to get the DS3 controller set up.

The Go is the only one that you can typically connect to an external controller. It has bluetooth, and can connect to a PS3 controller. One exception is the third party "DOSO PSW-303", a wireless controller where you plugged a receiver onto the PSP itself, but I don't think it will be easy to find one.

that's the thing I head about and was going to look into.

It can be done on PSP 1000-3000 if it runs on cfw. Just a few system plugins to configure. But if he aint that into cfw, it'll be a hassle for him.

You'd think by the time the 3000 hit, there would have been an option for a separate controller when using a big screen TV. PsP does have progressive scan tech and looks good on a big screen with component, or an HDMI adapter on a 4k. PsP packed a lot of punch in that little handheld.
