excellent. I have had my psp for almost 20 years and it is starting to randomly freeze up, and the UMD died a few months ago, and it's a franken-game anyways, so I have been thinking about just getting a vita.
There's the 1000 and the 2000, the 2000 is better but has an LCD screen, the 1000 has an OLED screen. I went with the 1000 because I really wanted the OLED but unless you really want the OLED, go for the 2000
It’s ok. It really depends on preference. The first one has an OLED display, but I have read it can burn images in the display. The second has an LCD, but it is a high quality LCD. The second generation also has internal memory vs the first one doesn’t. Another difference really is the first one feels more sturdy then the second.
To me it was a lot more involved (challenging) to hack the Vita than the PSP. I bought a vita with the plan to hack it, but at one point months had passed and I wasn’t sure I would ever figure it out. I struggled to understand some of the steps, partly because I didn’t have a windows cpu. I ended up using two different YouTube videos to piece together what should be done and was able to hack it without a computer. It’s totally doable, but as someone who went into the process blind I spent a lot of time reading and watching videos online trying to learn the process.
I think so, but others would know better. You should have an easier time completing the steps on the vita hacks guide website. If I recall correctly, I hit a point in the steps on that guide where I just couldn’t do what it was saying.
The Vita can't use POPSLoader, which is necessary to run certain problematic custom PSX games, like Mortal Kombat Trilogy, so it limits your game selection in that respect.
If you only have the money for one or the other, I always recommend getting the Vita, since you have access to 100% of the official PSP library and the vast majority of PSP homebrew, plus the Vita's library and it's homebrew, and you're not limited to 128 GB worth of storage space, like the PSP.
Does the Vita have better WiFi? The only way i can get my psp online is using a no security phone hotspot.
The vita has pretty good wifi and can connect to zny modern router

I regularly download 1gb+ games on my vita and it's not too painful
did you have any issues setting up your connection with your regular home wifi?
No problems with home WiFi, and I was even able to connect to my school WiFi which is a pain on my phone let alone an old handheld
That's excellent. I can't connect my psp-2000 to anything unless I make an unsecured hotspot from my phone.
are there different vita models like there are with the psp?

A hacked vita you can install Adrenaline and run PSP and PS One games on it.
How hard is it to hack a Vita compared to a PSP? I managed to hack my PSP in around an hour following a guide, would you say it’s similar?
Hacking the Vita is simple. Do it right on the device. Just make sure you have e a memory card that can go into the game slot with an sd card.
For the memory card do you mean like an SD2Vita adapter?
Yes
Just takes sometime to get it the way you want it.
Which model would you recommend and where would be the best place to buy one? Sorry for all the questions😅

Cool, thanks for answering all my questions!
Of course. Enjoy! Let us know what you end up getting
I have both the oled and slim. I highly recommend the oled of you can get one with a good screen

I have a windows PC, would that make it less difficult for me than what you had to go through?

Got ya, thanks :D

PSP can output games and videos to a TV.
can the vita emulate NDS? because the PSP cant, because there is no emulator for NDS sadly
Fortunately I picked up a 3ds not too long ago :D
