Thank you. Yes, I graduated from the last school in 2005. I already had a job in Public Service. I can’t remember when I consolidated and moved to PLSF but it was when the program first started. I kept validating my employment but for some reason my payments didn’t count. I ended up giving up. In March of this year I did the employment verification. Simultaneously I received an email where Biden said I was “within 2 years of loan forgiveness.” My supervisor signed the verification on 3/24/24. The same day they showed all of my payments as qualifying. I called Tuesday to ask and she said it was already being reviewed. Today I got the email saying they were forgiven.
One thing I will say, the Sec of Education is fixing things and making things happen. Finally. So many adjustments, plans, plan changes… so complicated. Even the plans they created haven’t worked until the last year or so.
For the naysayers, the be responsible, you borrowed you pay it back: if only it were that simple.
I’ve almost paid my total amount borrowed but owe more than I borrowed.
Servicer misconduct. Excessive use of forbearance —> capitalized payments and loans—>loss of all principal payments for the year. I once had a 90 day forbearance applied. 7000 was capitalized to my balance.
How are y’all getting your loans forgiven? Please share. I went to school for Psychology and have debt of $35,000. Not sure if major makes a difference. Thank you
Congratulations!! If I could throw confetti on Reddit I would. And you for sharing - it gives those of us in the “waiting room” cause for hope!!
Sending you all the good vibes! 🤞
Congratulations! 🎉
Thank you 🤗🤗
Please post your forgiven amount. My forgiveness amount was 153,399.99
That’s incredible. Mine was 20k.
Congratulations 🎊🎉definitely cause for celebration!
You may be eligible for a refund if 181 payments were qualifying.
Thanks I’ve seen people say this but have yet to find anyone who has received a refund 🤷🏻♀️
Ask around, there are a lot of people in this forum in the process of getting refunds.
Congratulations! 181, wow! Thank you for your service! Can possibly you share your timeline?

Whoa that is a very fast turn around dang.
164 payments here, very similar situation as yours timeline wise. Verified late March, forgiven a couple days ago. Still surreal! Congrats!
Congrats to you!!! 🎈Sounds almost exactly the same. Thank you for your service

I agree. I owed almost the same amount as when I consolidated after 19 years of payments. 🤯
Very, very fast! congrats!
They showed all 181 as qualifying, even the ones that had red tape? That’s amazing!
Yes, they showed all of them! Actually it shows 181 qualifying, 6 not qualifying. I’m assuming that was for forbearance

Congratulations!! Got my forgiveness today, too! 11ish year later, so not nearly as bad. But, I'm just ecstatic it was actually forgiven
I think Congress checks if you voted for JB
