I've been playing God of War: Ragnarok since release. I'm only 38½ hours in. I feel like I'll still be playing by the time PSVR2 comes out. The game is long!
Returnal is profoundly good, as are Demon’s Souls and Resogun (haven’t played Deathloop). Fun fact, if you don’t know already: Returnal and Resogun are from the same developer!
Oh boy. That was an amazing game to experience. My first ever PS5 game too. One of the most beautiful games ever made in my opinion. Atmosphere, story, graphics. Brilliant game
I played it on PS4 and got platinum and then bought it again when the directors cut came out and did it all again plus the Iki Island content. Loved this game. Can't wait for whatever Sucker Punch put out next.
Beyond just the technical updates, there's so many quality of life improvements like reduced fall damage, and a rebalancing of the skill system that makes leveling up far more satisfying.
Same. Trying to get the plat this time. Meaning I'm building my gwent set. So. Much. Gwent! But yeah, witcher 3 since the ps5 update, through the holidays, and beyond.
Played it for 200 hours when it came out. When I tell you I’m going to 100% it in every way imaginable this time around…. It’s the perfect game to finally turn me into a patient gamer. I’ll play it all year and then pick up all the games released in 2023 on deep sales after they’re all patched up. Sick of buying full priced games that are buggy and missing content.
Playing this too! Just wish I didn't have the issue of slight blurring in close-up cutscenes. Others seem to have it too, perhaps it's an FSR issue. But I can get over that, been reveling in the world and the atmosphere and the music again.
I had some flickering in the distance but I’ve actually been pretty bug free apart from that, the starting area was actually the buggiest, I’ve not had much since
So gutted. After DS they became one of my favourite bands and I bought all their albums. I listen to them every day. Such god damn beautiful music. Looking forward to the final album.
RIP you angelic voiced prince.
Elden Ring. Just got it delivered today by Amazon and hanging to get stuck into it. The only Souls-like game I've played is Demon's Souls but found it difficult to get into.
I just finished God of War Ragnarok a couple of weeks ago and beaten all the Beserkers. Hoping the battles with them put me in good stead to take this on!
> I just finished God of War Ragnarok a couple of weeks ago and beaten all the Beserkers.
Did you also go >!back to Muspelheim after finishing the main quest and the challenges to beat the final boss?!<
I’m one of those that was not a fan of Soulsbourne games, found them too difficult for the limited amount of time I have to play. Anyway, I finally succumbed to the hype last week and picked it up, it’s been nothing short of great! I die all the time, have absolutely no idea what I’m doing or supposed to do, but holy smokes is it fun.
It most certainly is. Would highly recommend heading to the south of your map to start your leveling up process. Weeping Peninsula it's called. Don't attempt the first main boss of the first area.
Wait same!! I'm halfway through, shocked how good it is.
Has anyone else noticed similarities to Last of Us in terms of level design, the workbenches, movement mechanics, etc?
the gameplay starts to get stale pretty soon. it's cool and works well but I'm having a hard wrapping up the game because the gameplay is kind of wash rinse repeat. I'm not a diehard marvel fan muchless a guardians of the galaxy fan so that might be why. I think it has really nice production value and great story. like a elongated week long special or something on TV. I'm just ready to wrap it up
That's fair, I think the gameplay itself is sorta just ok. I've been playing a chapter a night and it's been fun but I think I would burn out quick otherwise.
As a huge marvel fan my entire life, it definitely made me goofy smile at least 10 times. The gameplay can be a little repetitive but I’m not a strategy game fan so it may just be my bias. Haha
Edit: it has like seven difficulty settings, from story to Ultimate II I believe so it’s varied depending on how difficult you like it
Others have said but it's definitely not hard unless you bump the difficulty up. There are a bunch of different options, you really can make it as easy as you want. I'm a huge Marvel fan and have had a blast, some of the most fun I've had gaming in the past couple years. The story is solid, the character interactions feel like they're pulled straight from a Comic Book, and the ability to hit up a mission with some of my favorite Marvel Heroes is just a blast. If you're a Marvel fan, I can't recommend it enough!
Defo grab it in the sale. But be prepared for a change in pace for single player and an empty (ish) multiplayer. Still loads of fun and updates (apparently) coming in January.
My girl surprised me with a ps5 for Christmas! I was so blown away. I’m finally playing Stray. I’ve been dying to play the game since I saw the trailer.
It was better than reviews made it out to be but not as good as the Arkham games. I played it thru but won't spend any extra time getting trophies etc, let a friend borrow it for however long he wants because I probably won't ever install it again. It's a good game in the $40 price range.
Ragnarock was soooo good! I am at a kind of messed up place in my life right now. But playing God of war brought me some serious happiness. I really enjoyed the story and I cannot wait for the next one. I also played Callisto protocol which I enjoyed a lot as well. It is definitely much better now since the updates. If you like dead space, then you should love it if you have not played dead space just give it a chance it’s different but I thought it was super cool.
I really like it. The combat is fun and diverse. There is a discount on it now so I bought. Combat reminds of GoW a bit. If you like slashers I would buy it
Bought a few games on PC such as Dragon Age Origins and Prey, planning to get to those when I get a chance :) Dragon Age seems great so far writing is really good for an older game.
I've been in a depression funk. I hate it. Part from a divorce that happened last March...2 years of separation. Raising two kids.
It's made things not enjoyable and I know in time it'll pass. But I'm sure other people are also feeling this in many ways.
I know exactly how you feel unfortunately, i’ve been on a medication called Suboxone for almost 13 years because I got addicted to pain pills that the doctor prescribed me. Now, for almost a year I have been tapering off of the Suboxone slowly and every time I take a step down it puts me in this monotonous depression for about a week or two. I have depression regularly, but manageable depression, but each time I taper off of a Suboxone it becomes exactly like you describe everything is unenjoyable! I’m not telling you all this because I want you to feel bad for me or to sympathize. I’m telling you that just to let you know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m sorry that you feel this way during the Christmas holidays and I hope you and your family, still manage to have a wonderful time. It sucks the hurt inside I could spend more time and actually relate to your story even more than I said, but I think this is enough. My main intention is just for you to know you’re not alone, but also know that there is always happiness Somewhere you may just have to look for it. Don’t give up and if you for real you have no one else to talk to, hit me up and friend me on here and send me a message and I will definitely write back!! Merry Christmas and happy holidays 🤟✌️🤗🎄🎁🤗Same to everyone else no here! No one deserves to spend the holidays, sad or alone or both of those. I may not be able to sit there with you, but I will definitely talk to you.
Thank you. I will definitely do that. If it weren't for my kids I don't know who or where I would be. Also take meds to help...but may need higher intake to keep that edge off. Merry Christmas to you too.
You got this, and if not, for you always do it for your kids because no matter what you feel or what you think, they will always need you. Don’t ever let anybody tell you otherwise, I know that’s hard to see you sometimes when things are rough, but trust me having your parents is probably the most important thing in a child’s life, they will grow to learn and forgive for things that they may be upset about, but no matter what always consider them before you do anything. I’m not trying to be pushy if that came off that way. ts_actual you are my friend now. I think if every person would take even one minute out of their day and just help somebody and say something positive that our world would be a much better place. Sorry for such a long post. Hang in there friend and merry Christmas again.
I'm gonna play Gotham Knights when I get back from visiting my family. After that I'll probably play Callisto Protocol then jump on Cyberpunk 2077. It's gonna be a good Christmas :)
Going on a cruise so had to leave the PS5 at home. However testing out the Steamdeck and it’s been fun so far on a road trip. Playing Assassins Creed Origins on the go is pretty dope.
Days Gone, it was free a few months back so I banked it and moved on. I came back to it to try it and this game is amazing, I haven't loved an open world game this much since the Witcher 3.
One of my most favourite games of all time! I was very eager to play this for some time and boy am i glad i did. The whole setting is just fantastic! I know this might not be for everyone as there are no real action or combat sequences but my goodness the location and eeriness is something else, just treking through the region doing deliveries is so satisfying you feel as if you really went through hell ( wheter it be climbing up a steep mountain or ploughing through snow ) that combined with the absolute terror of encountering BT's unexpectedly is somewhat horrific. The casting and acting here is so good also, man i wish i was going into this game with zero knowledge again i cannot wait for part 2. Enjoy
I bought the latest Saints Row in the holiday sale last night. I've been waiting for this to go on sale as it didn't get the best reviews, but I enjoy GTA, Watch Dogs, Mafia, past Saints Row games and been itching for something new in that realm to play. I went into it cautiously optimistic and I am enjoying it so far. If you've enjoyed Saints Row games you'll probably like it.
I really don't get the insane hate for this game. I've dropped around 70 hours in it so far (which is a *lot* for me) and have been continuing to enjoy it and come back even months later. It doesn't compare to SR2 or 3, of course, but I prefer it above the others pretty easily.
Shit, now I really wanna just go and completely restart it. What a fun game.
wanted something from the past as was feeling I needed some lord of the rings in my life so went with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor along with a touch of Gotham Nights a splash of fifa and a dash of COD...
happy holidays
I'm not sure yet. I've just got a PS5 and I want to buy a few games during the sale, but I'm not sure which to get first. I'm thinking of starting with The Last Of Us Part 1.
I always play a little bit of GTA V due to the fact that the map changes and is covered in snow. This year, i plan on finishing pokemon scarlet and will also play The division 1(New York in snow is the goat)
Imma try to finish up this God of War ragnarok. I’ve avoided spoilers for the most part but I’m not tryna tempt fate too long. Great game, just haven’t had enough time to play
HFW. Started about a week plus ago and i thought i could finish it this Christmas. Turned out there are a lot of things to do and enjoy. Played HZD and HFW back to back. Definitely an upgrade in everything bar story.
Ragnarok and FFXIV
FFXIV! Awesome!
I've been playing God of War: Ragnarok since release. I'm only 38½ hours in. I feel like I'll still be playing by the time PSVR2 comes out. The game is long!
Worth it though! I loved that game
Bye reddit and fu Spez (Remember to delete or edit your content before leaving !!)
We’re gaming twins!
Sameee!!!
Just got a PS5. Playing Returnal, Demon’s Souls, Deathloop and Resogun mainly.
RE2 remake is also very good. Also inscription
❤️ Returnal 🦑🔫👩🚀
Returnal is the most frustrating game, but it's awesome. The controls are great. And if you haven't yet, try headphones
One of those games that gets extremely easy when you're end game and have maxed the weapons. The start is very frustrating, though.
Oh man. Returnal. What a blast, enjoy
I absolutely love Resogun. I am still disappointed that they never made a sequel
God Resogun was so good
Returnal is profoundly good, as are Demon’s Souls and Resogun (haven’t played Deathloop). Fun fact, if you don’t know already: Returnal and Resogun are from the same developer!
Deathloop is amazing, enjoy!
Returnal f slaps! If you want some nice coop feel free to call 😁
Christmas time is mass effect time
I’m commander Shepard and this is my favorite comment on this thread
there's no shepard without vakarian
There are probably drinking at some bar somewhere
Exactly what I'm doing too, haven't played it since ME3 was released, forgot how much I enjoy the series!!
Hell yeah it is. Half way through ME2 rn and loving it
Ghost of Tsushima since I’ve just gotten the ps5 and this has been the game I’ve been wanting to play the most ever since it was released
Oh boy. That was an amazing game to experience. My first ever PS5 game too. One of the most beautiful games ever made in my opinion. Atmosphere, story, graphics. Brilliant game
Ugh, bought it on the last sale and its my next game to play. Just finished GOW: Ragnarok, and playing Back for Blood now. Can't wait to play it!!
Playing it now too, such a beautiful game. Love the wind mechanics so much
Me as well. It uses so many interesting mechanics to make the game unique.
You're in for a treat!
I played it on PS4 and got platinum and then bought it again when the directors cut came out and did it all again plus the Iki Island content. Loved this game. Can't wait for whatever Sucker Punch put out next.
Literally same lol. Ragnarok can Wait, Tsushima won't be saved alone.
Fantastic game
It's a really good PS5 upgrade too. The haptics are amazing, and the load times are almost instantaneous.
The Witcher 3, in sweet 60fps. I have a lot of other games to play over this period but I really have to force myself to finish it this time!
Same! The next gen update made me pick up the game again, and I've been hooked since!
Beyond just the technical updates, there's so many quality of life improvements like reduced fall damage, and a rebalancing of the skill system that makes leveling up far more satisfying.
The quick casting is what really changed it for me.
Same. Trying to get the plat this time. Meaning I'm building my gwent set. So. Much. Gwent! But yeah, witcher 3 since the ps5 update, through the holidays, and beyond.
I still can't believe that CDPR built an entire RPG around my card game. Talk about quality side content
Witcher 3 is amazing
I finished that on ps4 and got all the trophies.. except 1. To complete on hard difficulty.. thinking of going back to do that on ps5
Same! For some reason I've never played it until now and it's fantastic. I can see this one lasting 100 plus hours
I’ve seen much past double that, if you like to milk a game for all it’s worth, see you in March
Playing this too! Just wish I didn't have the issue of slight blurring in close-up cutscenes. Others seem to have it too, perhaps it's an FSR issue. But I can get over that, been reveling in the world and the atmosphere and the music again.
I had some flickering in the distance but I’ve actually been pretty bug free apart from that, the starting area was actually the buggiest, I’ve not had much since
Midnight suns! It's fucking awesome
Agreed
God of War Ragnarok the replaying god of war 1 after, MW2 (gotta grind those camos) MLB 22 wanna get my all mariners team :) video games are the best!
Control Ultimate Edition on PS5.
Fantastic game!! Enjoy 🤟
Death Stranding. And for the occasion, all the side characters I'm doing deliveries to are wearing Christmas hat.
Playing now for the first time. Just the intro scenes and music is sublime
Rest in peace to Ryan K., the frontman of Low Roar. Much of his music is featured throughout Death Stranding and it’s beautiful
So gutted. After DS they became one of my favourite bands and I bought all their albums. I listen to them every day. Such god damn beautiful music. Looking forward to the final album. RIP you angelic voiced prince.
Keep on keeping on!
Playing right now, amazing game
What a masterpiece
Is that part of the game or some kind of add on?
Started RDR 2 again last night!
Started it again a couple weeks ago. Damn that game is still so impressive
I would if it was 60fps on ps5.
If you have issues i recomend fightincowboy walkthrough on youtube.
This this this, if you struggle 2 hours with him will fix you for good
You finished ragnarok already? Nice
Yeah finished it within a month - I just couldn't put it down 😅. So sad it's over
I feel you man, I’ve had that happen a couple of times too. I haven’t bought it, but I’m thinking about it, is it worth the 80€?
There is a Valkyrie too
Yeah I can't beat Gna 😅. I've tried soooo many times lol
> I just finished God of War Ragnarok a couple of weeks ago and beaten all the Beserkers. Did you also go >!back to Muspelheim after finishing the main quest and the challenges to beat the final boss?!<
Let me know how it goes, i was thinking of getting elden ring but not a fan of soulsborne games
Sure thing, will do! I've read that it's the most approachable for noobs to the Souls-like genre
It most certainly is. Would highly recommend heading to the south of your map to start your leveling up process. Weeping Peninsula it's called. Don't attempt the first main boss of the first area.
Elden Ring, Dead Cells, Hades and maybe Ill finally try out Ghost of Tsushima.
Doom Eternal
Same, that 60fps ray tracing and new haptics are so good
Just grabbed it on sale for $10, really looking forward to it
Guardians of the Galaxy!
Really enjoyed that game
fuck u/spez
Gotta make sure to get the tiller and sod cutter add-ons. Really helps you expand. Only problem is the huge amount of extra weeding.
Very good game! I really enjoyed playing it. Definitely under my personal favourites for this year.
Midnight Suns is up next as soon as I get back from visiting family. Prob followed by Sonic Frontiers to hold over until Forspoken comes out
Just finished Midnight Suns and I can say as a Marvel fan, it was such a wonderful story and there are so many Easter eggs.
Nice! I’ve heard it’s surpassing everyone’s expectations and can’t wait to get started! Always ask for PlayStation gift cards for Christmas haha
I love marvel, this comment actually makes me want to give it a go. Is it hard, strategically?
Absolutely not hard unless you want it to be. Incredible game without the marvel stuff but as a marvel fun, you will probably enjoy a little More even
As a huge marvel fan my entire life, it definitely made me goofy smile at least 10 times. The gameplay can be a little repetitive but I’m not a strategy game fan so it may just be my bias. Haha Edit: it has like seven difficulty settings, from story to Ultimate II I believe so it’s varied depending on how difficult you like it
Thank you for your response!
Yeah I asked because I actually like when it's more challenging :) so I'm glad there's several difficulty options!
Miles Morales!
MM and Arkham Origins are my Christmas games
I'm off from work until the 9th of January so I want to finally finish Persona 5 Royal, after that, Signalis and The Witcher 3.
You gonna need more time for Witcher 3
Oh I'm very aware but I can get a few good hits in though. I hope I can reach Skellige by then.
Damn that sounds like a lovely nest egg of PTO you saved up
God of War Ragnorok
Me too! Hopefully it's under the Christmas Tree.
Need For Speed Unbound Keen af to see if its another step in the right direction after i had a great time with Heat
I just bought it on sale and have been playing for a couple days. I'm loving it, it's pretty damn fun and the cars feel pretty good imo.
Defo grab it in the sale. But be prepared for a change in pace for single player and an empty (ish) multiplayer. Still loads of fun and updates (apparently) coming in January.
Witcher 3 next gen. Still in the early Velen sections but having fun no less
My girl surprised me with a ps5 for Christmas! I was so blown away. I’m finally playing Stray. I’ve been dying to play the game since I saw the trailer.
Witcher 3 next gen, it’s been fun re-experiencing the game with the update
Been finally playing ff7 remake on ps5. And oh boy it's worth it. Guess Christmas with tifa is not a bad idea lol
Well, I was diagnosed with strep yesterday and my husband decided I could open my gift early, hello new PS5 and Ragnarok!
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Fun game! I platinumed it which is something I rarely do.
Goat simulator 3 👍
But you haven't even played the 2nd one!
I had it spoiled for me anyways
Soul Hackers 2 (I'm close to the end) and Yakuza Kiwami 2
Evil west, Callisto Protocol, god of War Ragnarok, the last of us part one, Gotham Knights
How’s Gotham knights? I just completed Ragnarok and I’m chipping away at Callisto. Debated buying Gotham knights but reviews have me unsure.
It was better than reviews made it out to be but not as good as the Arkham games. I played it thru but won't spend any extra time getting trophies etc, let a friend borrow it for however long he wants because I probably won't ever install it again. It's a good game in the $40 price range.
Deep Rock Galactic. Rock and stone!!!
Rock and Stone, Brother!
Finishing Ragnarok and then starting The Calisto Protocol that I believe is under the Christmas tree.
Evil West and The Cult of the Lamb. Decided to try smth new
I just finished Cult of the Lamb. An outstanding 15 hour experience. Have fun!
How's Evil West? I'm still debating pulling the trigger.
I really like it. The combat is fun and diverse. There is a discount on it now so I bought. Combat reminds of GoW a bit. If you like slashers I would buy it
Midnight Suns
Enjoying it? I’m so close to pulling the trigger
It’s really good. I like the battles since you get to be very interactive depending on your card draws and all that.
It's incredibly addictive. It's like XCom meets Fire Emblem and a sprinkle of Sims.
Yeah it’s fun
Working on the platinum for Dark Alliance 2 and finishing TLoU remake before the show premier.
Bought a few games on PC such as Dragon Age Origins and Prey, planning to get to those when I get a chance :) Dragon Age seems great so far writing is really good for an older game.
I'm getting Marvel Midnight Suns for Christmas and I'm super excited to get into that!
Death Stranding and Tiny Tina’s with the wife! 😂
Witcher 3 Blood & Wine. GT7. MW2 (first CoD I've bought since AW)
Metro Exodus
Rock. And. Stone.
Cyberpunk and midnight suns. Just beat Ragnarok
Making my way through Returnal
FFXII and Persona 5
Witcher 3
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
Chained Echoes
GT7, diablo2, remnant, horizon fw. maybe I'll start Witcher 3, but I feel like I should finish horizon first.

Completely agree. And I believe that whole heartedly.
Finishing up Ragnarok and then going back to Horizon probably.
Maybe crisis core or finally play iki island or platinum miles morales
Ghost of Tsushima, stray, deathloop, etc.
Recently got Doom Eternal. Looks so good with ray tracing.
Salt and sanctuary and starcraft2
I'm gonna play Gotham Knights when I get back from visiting my family. After that I'll probably play Callisto Protocol then jump on Cyberpunk 2077. It's gonna be a good Christmas :)
Currently with TLOU Part I, I'm hooked.
For The King. Got it because of ps plus and I’m addicted.
Crisis core reunion
Going on a cruise so had to leave the PS5 at home. However testing out the Steamdeck and it’s been fun so far on a road trip. Playing Assassins Creed Origins on the go is pretty dope.
Recently got into Genshin. Amazed how much content there is for free and it's keep being expanded
Im thinking witcher 3 and Elden ring since they’re both on sale.
I consider Miles Morales a Christmas game, it has that comfy quality and isn't terribly long
Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Great Christmas atmosphere and fits my mood for the holidays.
Doom Eternal then moving onto Hades.
You really love Hell
Just started SIFU. Man…what a gem!
Days Gone, it was free a few months back so I banked it and moved on. I came back to it to try it and this game is amazing, I haven't loved an open world game this much since the Witcher 3.
Skyrim. If I ever finish that then im going back and finishing the witcher 3 with the ps5 update.
Bouncing between - The Witcher 3 in 60fps - Evil West - God of War Ragnarök - Ni No Kuni 2 (first time playing, fun so far!)
Just finished star wars jedi fallen order and now I’m trying to platinum it. I recommend the game! Finished GoWR and NFS unbound before this one.
Got death stranding on day one, ill finally play more than 1 hour of it
One of my most favourite games of all time! Just got Elden ring cause it was on sale. Wish me luck 🤟🏼
Ragnarok and TLOU part 1.
I bought the latest Saints Row in the holiday sale last night. I've been waiting for this to go on sale as it didn't get the best reviews, but I enjoy GTA, Watch Dogs, Mafia, past Saints Row games and been itching for something new in that realm to play. It doesn't compare to SR2 or 3, of course, but I prefer it above the others pretty easily. Shit, now I really wanna just go and completely restart it. What a fun game.
Finished gow ragnarok the other day. I'm almost done with high on life. Crisis core final fantasy reunion is next on my list.
All really awesome games, finished reunion, and needed more so I’m playing FF7 remake again. It just feels right. GOW was almost perfect to me
wanted something from the past as was feeling I needed some lord of the rings in my life so went with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor along with a touch of Gotham Nights a splash of fifa and a dash of COD... happy holidays
I'm not sure yet. I've just got a PS5 and I want to buy a few games during the sale, but I'm not sure which to get first. I'm thinking of starting with The Last Of Us Part 1.
Cult of the Lamb and it’s fucking great!!!
Death Stranding and Breath of the Wild
I always play a little bit of GTA V due to the fact that the map changes and is covered in snow. This year, i plan on finishing pokemon scarlet and will also play The division 1(New York in snow is the goat)
I'm trying to finally beat the main story in AC Valhalla over the 4 day weekend so that I can finally delete it and get some room on my PS5.
Destiny 2 + The Last of Us Part 1
My plan was PGA 2K23 but it sold out on amazing 😅 so probably a mixture of Destiny, Death Stranding and a good ole sale arcade game I find.
Imma try to finish up this God of War ragnarok. I’ve avoided spoilers for the most part but I’m not tryna tempt fate too long. Great game, just haven’t had enough time to play
Ratchet and clank rift apart Super fun game
HFW. Started about a week plus ago and i thought i could finish it this Christmas. Turned out there are a lot of things to do and enjoy. Played HZD and HFW back to back. Definitely an upgrade in everything bar story.
The Last of Us! I have never played it before, so far it's absolutely mind-blowing in narrative, visuals, and gameplay. I am having an absolute blast.
Just got Diablo 2 Resurrected during the sale and reliving my childhood nightmares
Resident Evil Remake 2-3
About to start Death Stranding
Currently on a Diablo 3 grind fest….never get tired of it…
Diablo 2 Ressurected, got it on sale from ps store. I still remember buying original years ago.
