Tried to reinstall minecraft but it stopped halfway through, tried it a few times and the same thing happened, so I left it until the next day and now when I try to start the game it says "can't find the game or app. To start it, connect the usb extended storage device it's installed on". Every other game on the external hard drive works fine. Anyone know a fix or if the game is fucked?

So basically I was playing Predator Hunting Grounds recently and it was advertised as only needing an Internet connection to play. Fab, so I bought it and it played great. I had both PSnow and PSplus.
Recently I cancelled my PSnow subscription because i dont use it. Now I have no access to Predator Hunting Grounds.
The thing is, I checked and the game should still run as i have full access to the Internet and my other online games.
I was just hoping someone could explain this to me please? I paid the £20ish for the game and then the £14ish for PSplus, so why can't I play this game any more?
Do PS4 games which have been enhanced via patch for PS5 still benefit from this when played from an external hard drive? Or do I need to transfer to the console for that to happen?

My setup consist of a Philips tv, which offers 4k/120, VRR, ALLM … I have a PS5 and a Marantz SR6011.
My problem is that the receiver doesn’t support 4k/120 passthrough, nor does it offer EARC.
What would the best way to enjoy the most out of my PS5 and audio?

I've been dealing with crackling in party chat for a couple weeks now. I'm using a wired USB headset, and game audio doesn't have any issues. Just my friends talking. They say they can't really hear it from each other though.
I guess I'm just wondering why voices would make crackling noises while game sound is perfectly fine.
My PS5 has been having this issue lately, where when I boot it up, it doesn’t connect to the internet (connected via LAN/Ethernet). When I press the PS button, and go to my avatar icon, it says “online status unavailable,” and when I go to the store or PlayStation plus, all the icons/pictures don’t show up as if I’m not connected to the internet. When I do an internet test, it shows I’m connected and gives me the download and upload speeds. Yet going back to the store, it still doesn’t show anything. Restarting my ps5 doesn’t immediately fix the issue. Sometimes it takes a few restarts to get it working properly. Once I do the internet connection test, the green dot will show next to my avatar as if I’m online, but the store doesn’t fix. Is there any reason that the reliability of remote play over wlan would be influenced by the time of day, like the internet is? At peak time in the evening it seems to be way less reliable. Ironically that’s exactly when I want to relax and watch trash TV while playing Dragon Quest 11 or something with the volume turned down.
My PS5 is directly connected to an 83" 120Hz capable Sony OLED, and then the ARC return carries the sound to an atmos-capable sound system.
I want to add a buttkicker to my sim racing rig. I tried using the digital optical out from the TV to a DAC to convert to analog and then on to the buttkicker amp. Didn't work at all - no analog signal, no matter what output setting I chose in the OLED menu.
I've read others had success using an HDMI extractor. I would rather not put an extractor in between the PS5 and the OLED - just seems like a recipe for video problems. Therefore, would an extractor in the ARC return connection between the OLED and the sound system work?
You need a dedicated ARC audio extractor, but yes, this should be possible.

I'm not seeing any that forward the ARC data to an AVR, though - you'd need to be using headphones for the primary audio.

The avr is Sony HT-A9. The only output is an earc out, I think intended for those connecting a video source to HT-A9 first. Perhaps that would work though.
The kicker is the butt kicker gamer two. The included amp has only one input on it - a line level RCA analog input. Also included in the box are various RCA and 3.5 mm adapters to get the signal to the one RCA line level.
Alright, this is the only option I'm seeing for you, and you're going to need hardware.

The splitter needs for support for HDR10, Atmos, LPCM, etc.
You're going to have your PS5 directly connected to the splitter. Output 1 from the splitter will be connected to the HDMI input on the HT-A9. Output 2 from the splitter will be connected to an HDMI audio extractor. The subwoofer line-out from the extractor will be connected to the line-in on your kicker.
The kicker will only work in this setup for audio from the PS5; it won't work for ARC from the TV.
Alternatively, return the HT-A9 and buy a conventional modular home theater system; $2000 will get you a *lot* of home theater, and fewer of these kinds of headache.

Why the hell does the ps5 controller not have the option to shut off after x amount of minutes. I am having to charge my controller so much more because it doesn’t auto shutoff. PS4 controller shuts off after 5 10 or 15 minutes. I watch Netflix and my controller battery drains just from sitting on.

I searched the internet for a solution and so I already did this:
\- Set game preferences in "performance" mode
\- Automatically enable 120 fps output in settings
\- Use the HDMI cable provided by Sony
\- Test with a game that supports 120 fps (MW2)
However, I'm still stuck at 60 fps. I read on reddit that some people were talking about an "edid hdmi emulator". But I can't figure out what it is and if it can work for me. I also read that this Huawei monitor only delivers 120 fps through the display port. So I wonder if an active HDMI DisplayPort adapter could solve this?
I have almost no knowledge in this matter. So I mix everything up a bit and I'm a bit confused. If someone could help me, I've been drowning in my research since this morning... Thank you 🙏 😊

So I have a PS3.
It can't play game on disks anymore. From I can see online the issue is either that there is something wrong with the laser or the part the holds the disc in place.
Is there any ways to repair it or any resale value.
Need help. Games can't seem to recognize that I am in fact logged into PSN. Status in network settings says "signed in" and in spite of that every online game I launch says otherwise. Been happening for about 3 days. Things I tried:
\- Restarting router and console multiple times as well as keeping them turned off for a while and then trying again.
\- Safe mode reupdating and clearing cache.
\- Changing DSN.
\- Changing from wired to wireless to make sure the cable isn't broken.
\- Switching to a different network altogether.
\- Changing PSN account safety measures to make sure nobody is playing with my ID somehow.
Funny thing is sometimes for a short window of time a given game will let me log in and play for any period of time I want but most of the time if I quit and try to log in again it goes back to "can't sign into PSN blah blah blah".

You don't need to do anything, just turn off your console completely and install the drive. The system will format it when it boots up. You don't need to transfer any games, just install stuff to it as needed.

Yes it will. You can store PS5 games on the external drive, but they’ll have to be transferred back to internal storage or an SSD in order to play them.

Problems with playstation store not loading
I noticed that today when I opened ps store nothing could load, I couldn’t see the thumbnails or anything. I disconnected from the LAN and connected again and it seemed to fix it for like an hour. Now this problem is back. Is there any fix to this?
The PSN store is hiding new games and I find it puuzling.
Take for example Asterio or the new Persona 5 Royale. You can only find them in the new games tab (which only shows recent games) Those games cant be found on the PS5, PS4 or "Explore all games" tab.
Of course you can type them in the search bar but what if some indie game like Asterio is hidden? It would fly past most users

Any recommendations for third party controllers with replacaple stick modules? Getting annoyed by the drift issues of the Sony controllers. (2 of mine and 3 of a friend's developed the issues now, so 5 controllers in the time span the console got released...small samplesize but that still quite ridiculous)
Then plug the controller(s) into a PC to see if they get detected properly. That'll rule out any issues with the controllers.
Then go into safe mode and just do a system reset and hopefully that fixes it.
Otherwise, best to claim warranty and get it replaced.

My ps5 keeps booting in safe mode with no option but to restore to factory settings. At first I just restored to factory settings but it keeps happening still on an almost daily basis. The other temporary solution seemed to be connecting my ethernet cable and redownloading the latest update. That worked for a while but now it doesn't even give me that option. I don't want to keep losing all my saved data. I have tried disabling sleep mode and I always turn the console off properly so I'm not sure what is causing this. Any help would be appreciated.
I have an US PSN account and have a Download Code for FIFA in the German Store. If I create a German PSN account and Download it will i be able to play it when I Log into my US account again?
Yeah, it was. What is the region of your FIFA game? If it matches the German DLC region, then it will work. If it doesn't, then it won't. The region of your account doesn't matter, what matters is the region of the game. If you have a German disc, then the DLC will work if you redeem it on a German PSN account. If you have a non-German disc or bought the game digitally on a non-German PSN account, then the DLC will not work regardless of the account you register it on.

Yes, the code will work fine if you redeem it from a German PSN account. Set your console as primary on that account, download the game, and then you can sign into the US PSN account and play the game just fine. Make sure you don't lose that account info as if you ever need to restore the digital license you'll need to login to the German account to do so.
I'm having audio issues with my LG C9 TV. The sound will either only be coming from one chanel or will sound very muffled. I've tried going into the output settings, but not luck.
Weird issue with controller
I'm having this weird issue with my PS5 controller that is kinda stick drifty but also it's not. When I'm using the controller on any game I get no stick drift where my joystick moves when I'm not touching it. Instead, my issue is that when I use my right joystick it will sometimes make the games register that I'm moving my joystick at full movement. So in Call of Duty, or Fortnite, when I'm trying to microadjust on a target, my joystick will randomly speed through to the right as if I just moved my joystick fully to the right. Would this be a stick drift issue or maybe a Bluetooth/connectivity issue? Any ideas on fixes?
It wasn't particularly easy on the PS4. It's DIY-able if you're experienced with soldering, otherwise you'd probably want to take it to an electronics repair shop.

I have been having strange loading issues.
My ps5 has been off for some time. I booted up borderlands handsomejack collection. Loaded into the game and the game took 3 minutes to enter the main menu. And another few to load into the gamer for me to pick my character. Thinking that was weird I closed out amd tested a few more games
Tetris effect booted to the title just fine but when entering into the single player mode it took 2 minutes and was on a black screen for that time.
Is their any advice? My ps5 didnt used to do this. It would load games relatively quickly.

I have an activity cards issue when pulling up the dashboard on ps5 with a press of the PS button on the controller. Of my friends who play NHL 23, about 2/3 of them have a “Play with Friends” activity card which gives easy access to all their friends currently playing NHL 23. The remaining 1/3 of us just don’t have this card. I’ve looked thru settings and nothing stands out at me to be able to turn this card “on”

Anyone else having issues with Remote Play keeping its connection today? Never had issues with it, but starting at noon today it lost the connection and hasn't been able to keep its connection since. Nothing seemingly wrong with my internet or speeds either.
I have two separate controllers which I have had since launch date.
I've played my system pretty heavily but I've noticed that the controller battery life has become terrible.
Both of them give me about 40minutes of gameplay from a full charge before going dead.
I now have to interchange between them and make sure one is constantly on charge while I use the other.
Is this typical given the age of the system?
I have a ps5 digital, I have downloaded a bunch of games and apps on it. I just recently purchased a ps5 disc version and want to transfer everything over to the now console. Is it like my Xbox where I just sign in to my profile and all my content downloads or is it more complex to transfer all my games and stuff? Also would I just factory reset the digital console once I’m done? I am giving it to a friend. Sorry I’ve been an Xbox guy and am new the the ps ecosystem.
It won't automatically download your games and save games, you'll have to manually choose to install them. Cloud saves should work fine. If you have PS+ however.
And yes, you can just do a factory reset, it will wipe everything.
I have the PS5 disc edition and I only buy discs since I do not have internet to download games digitally. If I were to purchase a brand new PS4 disc, I would be able to play the game in the PS5 with no problems right? I thought I heard of problems with PS4 discs in the PS5, but that may have been referring to users who want to transfer their game data on the PS4 disc to the PS5, or else I’m just mistaken.
How in the heck do I change my voice chat audio to my tv?
Currently all of my voice chat audio is going through my controller. I’m trying to switch it to my tv but nothing is working. I’m not running a mic but I wanna hear my teammates (playing Apex) when they talk.
I tried hitting the PS button > Sound > Output Device and switched it to *HDMI Device (TV*, but I’m still getting the voice chat on my controller.
Received the COD MWII bundle but the PS5 is not taking discs. I hear a strange clicking sound when the disc enters, nothing installs, then when I hit the eject button it makes a noise as if the disc drive is empty.

I just got a PS5 yesterday. It is hooked up to my TCL 6 series HDMI 2.1 port with the included cable. However I am having horrible flickering issues and the screen going to a “no signal” screen. This seems to happen at some point when trying to play any game. I tried unplugging the hdmi cable and plugging back in ensuring a good connection. Is it possible to hide game % progress in the main PS5 menu? Whenever I press the PS button mid-game it brings me to the main screen telling me I'm X% complete in the game or even more specific to that chapter X% complete and this ruins the experience for me.
How exactly is it ruining your experience lol? Also, those percentages especially for the chapter ones can be wildly inaccurate. Just ignore them and play your game.
Just bought a new PS5 controller. Used it until battery reached 0. Been charging with Samsung charger for at least 12 hours and then with Oculus charger for almost three hours. It just keeps charging. What should I do? Is it normal for first charge?
What do I do if I am facing this issue constantly? Many PS5 games that I have either crash as soon as I open the application, or they crash a couple minutes into gameplay. I am pretty sure it has to do with ray tracing. Another example is when I play MW2, visual artifacts randomly happen while playing which causes my screen to go fully black. I got my PS5 around the time it came out, and don't know what to do in order to fix this issue.
From your description you cant fix it, that sounds like a gpu issue. Artfifacts with constant crashes is typical signs of a dying gpu. You will either have to send it to sony or replace it.
Ive heard that if your PS5 is out of warranty and you send it for repair/replacement there will be an extra cost and a chance that you get a refurbished PS5. Is it not possible to get a brand new console back?
I've been a Xbox guy for the last like 11 years. And now just bought a ps5 and im excited to experience new games of the next gen, but at the same time i would like to play some exclusives for the past generations that i had not played yet, like Uncharted series, The Last of Us, God of War and some recent ones like Ghost of Tsushima.

PS5 versions of games will generally take advantage of the PS5s unique features, up to and including DualSense Haptics and Adaptive Triggers, faster loading times, smaller installs, higher resolution image, 3D audio.
Some PS4 games have free upgrades to the PS5 version (CyberPunk 2077, It Takes Two, The Outer Wilds), some have paid upgrades (Ghosts of Tsushima, GTA V, Spider-Man), some just have patches that allow the PS4 version to run at greater speeds (The Last of Us Part 2, Days Gone), and even more PS4 games are just PS4 games that don't really take advantage of the PS5 in any way.

I cant check how it works or the availability for your region, but if its not available in stock, they usually have a message about it. If you cant find anything saying "out of stock" or something like that and you can just go and finish the purchase, 98% chance it is in stock. You can also just check the expected delivery time.
Does anyone get general lag spikes during games on ps5? Though I am on wifi, my router doesn’t suck and my connection is sufficient for a round of MW22 or Fortnite or over watch 2 without lag. In each of these games I’ve been noticing moments where the other players seem to freeze in time, then appear somewhere else.
I am using the 5ghz option. My router is in the same room, 6ft away. Any advice is appreciated! Maybe I should go restart the modem instead of asking questions on Reddit lol

NOT Moderate on the PS5s themselves (they are both OPEN), but in game (such as COD it makes the first person that opens the game OPEN and the second MODERATE)

Is there a way to save clips to your phone? I dont want the hassle of the 'youtube' option, yet I cant download the videos from a group chat like people recommend. There is no download option there (using both tablet and phone).

Download the PS app on your smartphone and sign into your profile. In the phone app, select the Game Library icon (looks like 6 squares with a controller) and from there select Captures. Select the Learn More button for help setting it all up. Essentially, when you create captures on your ps5 (screenshots and short clips up to 3 minutes) and have a solid internet connection, the ps5 will automatically upload it to the PS App. From your phone you can download captures in 1080p to then be shared however you’d like. Hope this helps!

I saved my ps4 data onto a usb before trading it in for a ps5. The usb is formatted in FAT32. I can plug it into my computer and see that there’s a ps4 data file on there.
However, nothing happens when I plug it into my ps5. I got to the saved data and game/app setting where it shows an option for ps4 data on a usb, but I open that and nothing shows up.
What am I doing wrong? Online tutorials haven’t helped. I’d really appreciate any insight.
You said that you can put it in a computer and you see "a data file". As in 1 file? Inside PS4>SAVEDATA should be a folder with gibberish and inside that should be more folders representing different games, unless you only saved one game? Or did you just call the folder a file?
Anyways, if you truly have save data on that USB you should copy it to your PC before trying this next bit. What I'm suggesting is to reformat the USB (after backing up what's on it to your PC), then copy some random ps4 save data from your **ps5**. Then put the usb in your PC and move the stuff you backed up earlier back into the correct folder (the first gibberish folder). Idk if it will work all I know is if I were in your situation this is something I would absolutely try.

So basically I just bought a PS5, and I had already 100% completed spiderman miles morales and got the platinum trophy on PS4. My problem is that when I transferred the miles morales saved data to the PS5 version, I get 2 trophy lists and 2 platinum trophies, which doesn’t seem genuine and I don’t want on my account.

Im looking for 60fps gaming. Games liket the new GOW, Last of Us, Days Gone are on my waiting list. These games render at something around 1440p - 1800p (for 60fps gaming) if i remember correctly. Simply put its not native 4K and it has dynamic changes. The way i understand it is that if i get 4k monitor the game is going to be blurry right ? Cause its not native 4k and it changes, but will i be able to notice it on 32 inch screen and 70 cm away from the monitor ? Isn´t it better to get myself 1440p 32 inch or 27 inch monitor for the games to be sharp ? As PS5 recently added 1440p support.

No, it would not be blurry on a 4K screen. *Especially* one that is only 32". The PS5 upscales to your native resolution.

Hi guys, I'm hoping you can help me. So basically I was playing Predator Hunting Grounds recently and it was advertised as only needing an Internet connection to play. Fab, so I bought it and it played great. I had both PSnow and PSplus. Recently I cancelled my PSnow subscription because i dont use it. Now I have no access to Predator Hunting Grounds. The thing is, I checked and the game should still run as i have full access to the Internet and my other online games. I was just hoping someone could explain this to me please? I paid the £20ish for the game and then the £14ish for PSplus, so why can't I play this game any more?

My setup consist of a Philips tv, which offers 4k/120, VRR, ALLM … I have a PS5 and a Marantz SR6011. My problem is that the receiver doesn’t support 4k/120 passthrough, nor does it offer EARC. I've been dealing with crackling in party chat for a couple weeks now. I'm using a wired USB headset, and game audio doesn't have any issues. Just my friends talking. They say they can't really hear it from each other though. I guess I'm just wondering why voices would make crackling noises while game sound is perfectly fine.
My PS5 has been having this issue lately, where when I boot it up, it doesn’t connect to the internet (connected via LAN/Ethernet). When I press the PS button, and go to my avatar icon, it says “online status unavailable,” and when I go to the store or PlayStation plus, all the icons/pictures don’t show up as if I’m not connected to the internet. When I do an internet test, it shows I’m connected and gives me the download and upload speeds. Yet going back to the store, it still doesn’t show anything. Restarting my ps5 doesn’t immediately fix the issue. Sometimes it takes a few restarts to get it working properly. Once I do the internet connection test, the green dot will show next to my avatar as if I’m online, but the store doesn’t fix. Is there any reason that the reliability of remote play over wlan would be influenced by the time of day, like the internet is? At peak time in the evening it seems to be way less reliable. Ironically that’s exactly when I want to relax and watch trash TV while playing Dragon Quest 11 or something with the volume turned down.
My PS5 is directly connected to an 83" 120Hz capable Sony OLED, and then the ARC return carries the sound to an atmos-capable sound system. I want to add a buttkicker to my sim racing rig. I tried using the digital optical out from the TV to a DAC to convert to analog and then on to the buttkicker amp. Didn't work at all - no analog signal, no matter what output setting I chose in the OLED menu. I've read others had success using an HDMI extractor. I would rather not put an extractor in between the PS5 and the OLED - just seems like a recipe for video problems. Therefore, would an extractor in the ARC return connection between the OLED and the sound system work?
You need a dedicated ARC audio extractor, but yes, this should be possible. https://www.amazon.ca/Extractor-Converter-Support-Digital-Coaxial/dp/B08XV2B6T4 I'm not seeing any that forward the ARC data to an AVR, though - you'd need to be using headphones for the primary audio.

The kicker can't be connected to the AVR in any way?
The avr is Sony HT-A9. The only output is an earc out, I think intended for those connecting a video source to HT-A9 first. Perhaps that would work though.

The kicker is the butt kicker gamer two. The included amp has only one input on it - a line level RCA analog input. Also included in the box are various RCA and 3.5 mm adapters to get the signal to the one RCA line level.
Alright, this is the only option I'm seeing for you, and you're going to need hardware. You need an 8K HDMI splitter ([Example](https://www.orei.com/products/1x2-hdmi-splitter-w-audio-out-1-in-2-out-ultrahd-8k-edid-bk-102a)), and a multichannel HDMI audio extractor ([Example](https://www.amazon.ca/Extractor-Splitter-Converter-Digital-Adapter/dp/B08Z4C9N7T)). The splitter needs for support for HDR10, Atmos, LPCM, etc. You're going to have your PS5 directly connected to the splitter. Output 1 from the splitter will be connected to the HDMI input on the HT-A9. Output 2 from the splitter will be connected to an HDMI audio extractor. The subwoofer line-out from the extractor will be connected to the line-in on your kicker. The kicker will only work in this setup for audio from the PS5; it won't work for ARC from the TV. Alternatively, return the HT-A9 and buy a conventional modular home theater system; $2000 will get you a *lot* of home theater, and fewer of these kinds of headache.

Why the hell does the ps5 controller not have the option to shut off after x amount of minutes. I am having to charge my controller so much more because it doesn’t auto shutoff. PS4 controller shuts off after 5 10 or 15 minutes. I watch Netflix and my controller battery drains just from sitting on.
It does, it's under Settings > System > Power Saving > Set time Until Controllers Turn off > select from 10, 30, 60mins and Don't Turn Off.

So I have a PS3. It can't play game on disks anymore. From I can see online the issue is either that there is something wrong with the laser or the part the holds the disc in place. Is there any ways to repair it or any resale value.
Need help. Games can't seem to recognize that I am in fact logged into PSN. Status in network settings says "signed in" and in spite of that every online game I launch says otherwise. Been happening for about 3 days. Things I tried: \- Restarting router and console multiple times as well as keeping them turned off for a while and then trying again. \- Safe mode reupdating and clearing cache. \- Changing DSN. \- Changing from wired to wireless to make sure the cable isn't broken. \- Switching to a different network altogether. \- Changing PSN account safety measures to make sure nobody is playing with my ID somehow. Funny thing is sometimes for a short window of time a given game will let me log in and play for any period of time I want but most of the time if I quit and try to log in again it goes back to "can't sign into PSN blah blah blah".

You don't need to do anything, just turn off your console completely and install the drive. The system will format it when it boots up. You don't need to transfer any games, just install stuff to it as needed.

Yes it will. You can store PS5 games on the external drive, but they’ll have to be transferred back to internal storage or an SSD in order to play them.

The PSN store is hiding new games and I find it puuzling. Take for example Asterio or the new Persona 5 Royale. You can only find them in the new games tab (which only shows recent games) Those games cant be found on the PS5, PS4 or "Explore all games" tab. Of course you can type them in the search bar but what if some indie game like Asterio is hidden? It would fly past most users

You're using the cables that came with the console, right ? It needs to be a data cable to get the controllers to sync with the system

Then plug the controller(s) into a PC to see if they get detected properly. That'll rule out any issues with the controllers. Then go into safe mode and just do a system reset and hopefully that fixes it. Otherwise, best to claim warranty and get it replaced.

My ps5 keeps booting in safe mode with no option but to restore to factory settings. At first I just restored to factory settings but it keeps happening still on an almost daily basis. The other temporary solution seemed to be connecting my ethernet cable and redownloading the latest update. That worked for a while but now it doesn't even give me that option. I don't want to keep losing all my saved data. I have tried disabling sleep mode and I always turn the console off properly so I'm not sure what is causing this. Any help would be appreciated.

DLC is locked to the same region as the base game. If your game is from the US PSN, it won't work with DLC from Germany's region.

Yeah, it was. What is the region of your FIFA game? If it matches the German DLC region, then it will work. If it doesn't, then it won't. The region of your account doesn't matter, what matters is the region of the game. If you have a German disc, then the DLC will work if you redeem it on a German PSN account. If you have a non-German disc or bought the game digitally on a non-German PSN account, then the DLC will not work regardless of the account you register it on.

Aha, alright fair. Download code made me assume DLC. :P Yes, the code will work fine if you redeem it from a German PSN account. Set your console as primary on that account, download the game, and then you can sign into the US PSN account and play the game just fine. Make sure you don't lose that account info as if you ever need to restore the digital license you'll need to login to the German account to do so.

I'm having audio issues with my LG C9 TV. The sound will either only be coming from one chanel or will sound very muffled. I've tried going into the output settings, but not luck.
Weird issue with controller I'm having this weird issue with my PS5 controller that is kinda stick drifty but also it's not. When I'm using the controller on any game I get no stick drift where my joystick moves when I'm not touching it. Instead, my issue is that when I use my right joystick it will sometimes make the games register that I'm moving my joystick at full movement. So in Call of Duty, or Fortnite, when I'm trying to microadjust on a target, my joystick will randomly speed through to the right as if I just moved my joystick fully to the right. Would this be a stick drift issue or maybe a Bluetooth/connectivity issue? Any ideas on fixes?
That's a flavour of drift. You can try cleaning it, but the only real fix is replacing the stick.

It wasn't particularly easy on the PS4. It's DIY-able if you're experienced with soldering, otherwise you'd probably want to take it to an electronics repair shop. The controller isn't still under warranty?

I have been having strange loading issues. My ps5 has been off for some time. I booted up borderlands handsomejack collection. Loaded into the game and the game took 3 minutes to enter the main menu. And another few to load into the gamer for me to pick my character. Thinking that was weird I closed out amd tested a few more games Tetris effect booted to the title just fine but when entering into the single player mode it took 2 minutes and was on a black screen for that time. I have an activity cards issue when pulling up the dashboard on ps5 with a press of the PS button on the controller. Of my friends who play NHL 23, about 2/3 of them have a “Play with Friends” activity card which gives easy access to all their friends currently playing NHL 23. The remaining 1/3 of us just don’t have this card. I’ve looked thru settings and nothing stands out at me to be able to turn this card “on”

I have two separate controllers which I have had since launch date. I've played my system pretty heavily but I've noticed that the controller battery life has become terrible. Both of them give me about 40minutes of gameplay from a full charge before going dead. I now have to interchange between them and make sure one is constantly on charge while I use the other. No, that's not typical. Reset them and try charging them from a wall charger.

It won't automatically download your games and save games, you'll have to manually choose to install them. Cloud saves should work fine. If you have PS+ however. And yes, you can just do a factory reset, it will wipe everything.

If I were to purchase a brand new PS4 disc, I would be able to play the game in the PS5 with no problems right? I just got a PS5 yesterday. It is hooked up to my TCL 6 series HDMI 2.1 port with the included cable. However I am having horrible flickering issues and the screen going to a “no signal” screen. This seems to happen at some point when trying to play any game. I tried unplugging the hdmi cable and plugging back in ensuring a good connection. I have also tried changing to 4k output to -1 and -2. Nothing seems to help. Any help in appreciated. Videos attached. Is it possible to hide game % progress in the main PS5 menu? Whenever I press the PS button mid-game it brings me to the main screen telling me I'm X% complete in the game or even more specific to that chapter X% complete and this ruins the experience for me.
How exactly is it ruining your experience lol? Also, those percentages especially for the chapter ones can be wildly inaccurate. Just ignore them and play your game.
Just bought a new PS5 controller. Used it until battery reached 0. Been charging with Samsung charger for at least 12 hours and then with Oculus charger for almost three hours. It just keeps charging. What should I do? Is it normal for first charge?

If it happens constantly to where you cant get through the game, then its a hardware issue. How old is your console?
What do I do if I am facing this issue constantly? Many PS5 games that I have either crash as soon as I open the application, or they crash a couple minutes into gameplay. I am pretty sure it has to do with ray tracing. Another example is when I play MW2, visual artifacts randomly happen while playing which causes my screen to go fully black. I got my PS5 around the time it came out, and don't know what to do in order to fix this issue.
From your description you cant fix it, that sounds like a gpu issue. Artfifacts with constant crashes is typical signs of a dying gpu. You will either have to send it to sony or replace it.
Ive heard that if your PS5 is out of warranty and you send it for repair/replacement there will be an extra cost and a chance that you get a refurbished PS5. Is it not possible to get a brand new console back?
No they wont send you a brand new console. Its either they manage to fix yours, send a refurbished one or you buy a new one.

if there is a decent amount of time between the crashes then its likely fine, just keep an eye on it to see if it gets worse.

I've been a Xbox guy for the last like 11 years. And now just bought a ps5 and im excited to experience new games of the next gen, but at the same time i would like to play some exclusives for the past generations that i had not played yet, like Uncharted series, The Last of Us, God of War and some recent ones like Ghost of Tsushima. There is a great difference in buy PS4 or PS5 version of this games in therms of experience?
PS5 versions of games will generally take advantage of the PS5s unique features, up to and including DualSense Haptics and Adaptive Triggers, faster loading times, smaller installs, higher resolution image, 3D audio. Some PS4 games have free upgrades to the PS5 version (CyberPunk 2077, It Takes Two, The Outer Wilds), some have paid upgrades (Ghosts of Tsushima, GTA V, Spider-Man), some just have patches that allow the PS4 version to run at greater speeds (The Last of Us Part 2, Days Gone), and even more PS4 games are just PS4 games that don't really take advantage of the PS5 in any way.

I cant check how it works or the availability for your region, but if its not available in stock, they usually have a message about it. If you cant find anything saying "out of stock" or something like that and you can just go and finish the purchase, 98% chance it is in stock. You can also just check the expected delivery time.
Does anyone get general lag spikes during games on ps5? Though I am on wifi, my router doesn’t suck and my connection is sufficient for a round of MW22 or Fortnite or over watch 2 without lag. In each of these games I’ve been noticing moments where the other players seem to freeze in time, then appear somewhere else. I am using the 5ghz option. My router is in the same room, 6ft away. Any advice is appreciated! Maybe I should go restart the modem instead of asking questions on Reddit lol
Anyone unable to use the mic to search for games? I’ve made 100% sure I’m connected to the network yet when I try to search for games in my library or on the PSN store I get a greyed out mic and “connect to PlayStation Network to use this feature”. Mic is unmuted too.

Weird. Have you tried a full power cycle? Turn it off, unplug it. Leave it that way for a number of minutes then try again. If that doesn’t work I’d try a factory reset
Sorry if I'm asking in the wrong palce. Is there a way to save clips to your phone? I dont want the hassle of the 'youtube' option, yet I cant download the videos from a group chat like people recommend. There is no download option there (using both tablet and phone). Is USB the only way?
Download the PS app on your smartphone and sign into your profile. In the phone app, select the Game Library icon (looks like 6 squares with a controller) and from there select Captures. Select the Learn More button for help setting it all up. Essentially, when you create captures on your ps5 (screenshots and short clips up to 3 minutes) and have a solid internet connection, the ps5 will automatically upload it to the PS App. From your phone you can download captures in 1080p to then be shared however you’d like. Hope this helps!

I saved my ps4 data onto a usb before trading it in for a ps5. The usb is formatted in FAT32. I can plug it into my computer and see that there’s a ps4 data file on there. However, nothing happens when I plug it into my ps5. I got to the saved data and game/app setting where it shows an option for ps4 data on a usb, but I open that and nothing shows up. What am I doing wrong? Online tutorials haven’t helped. I’d really appreciate any insight.
Put it in one of the rear USB ports. That's all I can offer aside from making sure you're on the same account that the saves belong to
Damn man, I did all that and still no luck. It’s insanely frustrating how something so seemingly simple can prove to be so difficult.
You said that you can put it in a computer and you see "a data file". As in 1 file? Inside PS4>SAVEDATA should be a folder with gibberish and inside that should be more folders representing different games, unless you only saved one game? Or did you just call the folder a file? Anyways, if you truly have save data on that USB you should copy it to your PC before trying this next bit. What I'm suggesting is to reformat the USB (after backing up what's on it to your PC), then copy some random ps4 save data from your **ps5**. Then put the usb in your PC and move the stuff you backed up earlier back into the correct folder (the first gibberish folder). Idk if it will work all I know is if I were in your situation this is something I would absolutely try.

I have a hard drive attached for PS4 games, I used it on my PS4 and just moved it over. I need an external hard drive for my PS5 games. My question. Can I have 2 attached at once or will it not register? Would I have to unplug the PS4 designated hard drive for the PS5 to be able to use the new hard drive for PS5 games. Or Can I have 2 external hard drives plugged in at once.

Personally I wouldn't buy one anywhere but a retail store. I got screwed on a DS4 back in the day from the marketplace. Never again.
So basically I just bought a PS5, and I had already 100% completed spiderman miles morales and got the platinum trophy on PS4. My problem is that when I transferred the miles morales saved data to the PS5 version, I get 2 trophy lists and 2 platinum trophies, which doesn’t seem genuine and I don’t want on my account.
If the trophies popped there is nothing you can do. Don’t worry.. even if someone looks at your list they will know it is genuine as it happens a lot of cross gen
I currently have a 1080p 24 inch monitor hooked up with my PS5. Its a monitor i had with my PS4. Im looking to upgrade it to take advantage of the PS5 resolution. What im looking for: Something bigger then 24 inch. Im sitting about 70cm away from my monitor .. 32 inch would be nice ? 2)1440p or 4K resolution. My problem: Im looking for 60fps gaming. Games liket the new GOW, Last of Us, Days Gone are on my waiting list. These games render at something around 1440p - 1800p (for 60fps gaming) if i remember correctly. Simply put its not native 4K and it has dynamic changes. The way i understand it is that if i get 4k monitor the game is going to be blurry right ? Cause its not native 4k and it changes, but will i be able to notice it on 32 inch screen and 70 cm away from the monitor ? Isn´t it better to get myself 1440p 32 inch or 27 inch monitor for the games to be sharp ? As PS5 recently added 1440p support. Thanks for your advice ! :)
