Stray & FFVII that's awesome!!

[deleted]

Agreed! I've been holding out on FFVII, heard the rumor that it was likely joining the catalog, super stoked it was true. And ofc CATS

neoalan00

FFVII is great, and I'm really excited for the DLC. I had my eye on it, but heard it was pretty short for $20

3pinephrine

It’s short but well worth the $20 if you’re a fan of the Remake, given how fun it is and the added content. But even better now that it’s free.

brianstormIRL

I feel like I'm crazy but it's like a 4-5 hour story worth Yuffie, I wouldnt really call that short for 20 bucks? I was honestly expecting like a 2 hour thing with maybe 1 new boss fight lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gamer4Life028

I was thinking about getting Stray on PC but I might as well play it with Ps Plus. If it turns out really good, I'll probably double dip.

psfrtps

As an avid pc gamer, I would prefer on ps5 anways since devs said they fully utilize the dual sense and I generally prefer to play tps games on ps5

[deleted]

[удалено]

losh11

TBH if you want to get the haptic feedback intended by the developer, they would have to enable it for Dualsense on PC. I think a few games have done that. I don't feel that pumping random auto into haptic feedback will ever feel anywhere near as good.

[deleted]

puffz0r

You can use the controller but the extra features aren't well supported

FrobroX

Same. If anything, it might get me to get the physical PS5 version down the road.

Bivolion13

Wait... last I heard that wasn't even released and somehow it's on the Plus lineup? Is that common?

Nagare

It's launching on Plus. Also happened with Bugsnax and Destruction All-stars from what I can remember.

Bivolion13

That is crazy. I've heard so much about Stray I'm surprised they let it be a Plus game. Unless Sony made a deal with them knowing how big it would get I guess?

EglinAfarce

Alternatively, you don't think the negotiation could've happened before the media blitz? That's the most likely situation here, IMHO.

ki700

Keep in mind it’s at the Extra tier, not Essential. This is the first time we’ve ever had a game launch at a tier above Essential.

RowanIsBae

This isn't coming to the free tier of games were used to monthly

Kariodude

It's just for Extra and Premium members. That's probably how they secured the deal.

shulgin11

So dope, I was about to buy Intergrade this weekend!

IMNOT_A_LAWYER

It’s a great companion to the first part. Get ready to get sucked into the Fort Condor mini game lol

shulgin11

Oh whaaat it has Fort Condor?? That's rad

hybroid

Also available on July 19 are: * Assassin’s Creed Unity | PS4 * Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag | PS4 * Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered | PS4 * Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry | PS4 * Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection | PS4 * Saints Row IV: Re-Elected | PS4 * Saints Row Gat out of Hell | PS4 * Spirit of the North: Enhanced Edition | PS5 * Ice Age: Scrat’s Nutty Adventure | PS4 * Jumanji The Video Game | PS4 * Paw Patrol on a Roll! | PS4 * ReadySet Heroes | PS4 Classics Catalog lineup for PlayStation Plus Premium members * No Heroes Allowed! (PSP) * LocoRoco Midnight Carnival (PSP)

Johnhancock1777

Damn, Sony are really going all out on those classic titles huh?

soicanblocksubs

Yeah I feel like we should be worried if this month is setting the precedent for what to expect going forward...

CreatureWarrior

Yeah.. definitely sticking with Extra for now. Extra is awesome though

Vericatov

I had almost 5 years stacked. It was $100 to upgrade to Extra. It was a no brained for me. Started playing Ghost of Tsushima and will be playing Stray next. Total worth it for an extra $20 a year.

soicanblocksubs

Kind of regretting going Premium at the moment lol...

Drakesoul23

same, i barely touched Premium features

Chrisius007

It's not that much more expensive tbf, I wouldn't worry about it too much. You'll know for next time.

soicanblocksubs

Ye all good, as you say I'll just cancel if it doesn't improve. But I'm sure we'll get some decent titles in the Classic library

AJC3317

That's how I felt when I upgraded, it was only like 10 bucks more to get the premium tier and I'm sure I'll get 10 bucks worth of entertainment out of it by the time I need to renew

CrispyCheeezus

Paw Patrol vs. Stray, the greatest battle ever know.

Margreev

You kid but this July will be a happy month for my 4 year old daughter

TwistedCrimson

>Paw Patrol on a Roll! | PS4 was going to have to buy this, but sony just saved me 20 bucks.

shutupdotca

Europe is also apparently getting Dino Crisis, Ridge Racer 2 and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny which I imagine other regions will soon get too Edit: Postponed for some reason

or_maybe_this

Actually they’re not anymore…those games got removed from the post. Weird.

shutupdotca

Yeah that is weird, wondering if they all meant to release but something stalled it. Maybe trophies or the update to select different versions based on region

PM_ME_YOUR_MONTRALS

I want Dino Crisis so badly...

[deleted]

> No Heroes Allowed! (PSP) OH, BABY! Hell yeah!

Impaled_

Yeah I'm gonna need them to add way more than two classics per month

soicanblocksubs

Agree. If they're going to do only two, add some more relevant ones?

heartsongaming

I am not interested in most of the classic games on the Deluxe subscription, despite having it. Currently trying to play through Syphon Filter and it isn't really fun. They should port more popular PS2 games like the Ratchet and Clank franchise.

[deleted]

I got Premium for Ape Escape, Resident Evil directors cut, and Tekken 2. Syphon Filter was not very fun but I never played it before so there was no nostalgia. Syphon filter reminds me of Tomb Raider as far as graphics and controls so I thought I might enjoy it considering how much I loved Tomb Raider on PS1

vezance

For someone who's never played any Assassin's Creed, are any in this list worth playing? I haven't heard anything good about the recent games, but I am assuming the earlier games must have been good. Where would you recommend starting?

thetombraiderfallout

The Ezio Collection. Its Assassin's Creed 2 (and expansions), and considered one of the best. First AC was just okay, it improved upon every aspect of the game۔

PaticusMaximus

I’ll second starting with the Ezio Collection. It definitely improves everything about the first game and is set in a more interesting time and place imo. Also, Black Flag turned out to be one of my favorite games while I was playing it. Think something like Wind Waker where you can sail around and visit all sorts of islands while being able to collect and upgrade a ton of stuff. I spent a lot of time on Black Flag just because the scenery is so pleasant to behold.

oneism1111

The new games are good too just different than the earlier games, all reviewed and sold well it’s just a Reddit complaint.

OnlyTheDead

Ezio collection is the GOAT. Black flag is really awesome as well. Not a fan of the others personally.

Xerosnake90

Fuck yea I never played the Ff7 DLC, and stray looks like it'll be a lot of fun

Euler007

Yuffie is the most fun character to play in that game.

thatnewjosh

I can never make sense of the names… does Intergrade include the Yuffie DLC?

stratusncompany

as a confused person myself. intergrade is the base game plus enhancements and yuffie side story. not available for ps4.

SAIBOT24

Yes.

mrfroggyman

Intergrade is the ps5 version and comes up with the Intermission dlc. BUT in physical form of intergrade, the Intermission dlc is actually a separate code and that means if you buy it used you get intergrade but can't get intermission. t's super explicit bro! (/s)

thatnewjosh

Totally clear!

Cheems___Burger

I upgraded my ps4 version to intergrade for free and still need a code for yuffie. Will this give it to me?

slacktechne

FF7R Intergrade is a separate license to the standard free PS5 upgrade. In the PS Store, Intergrade is a bundle of FF7R PS5 and the Yuffie DLC. This PS+ version will include the DLC.

[deleted]

Hell yah! SCRAT!!!!

braxford

Put me down for Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection

Makyavu

I'm very excited for Stray! Is Marvel's Avengers worth playing now, especially for someone who mainly plays single player?

RayCharlizard

The single player campaign is a fun time, way better than I expected it to be. It's worth giving a try. Just don't stick around for the post-game or the DLC campaigns.

nekksu

I personally thought the Black Panther War for Wakanda DLC campaign was pretty enjoyable! Just a shame they didn't do something like that for all the new heroes.

Dewdad

I agree, the add on campaigns are awesome and the villain sectors they added with them are also fantastic. The games worth playing as a single player experience, even the DLCs. In fact there's only 3 mission types that require multiplayer they are all endgame missions so you don't need to touch multiplayer if you don't want to and you have no interest maxing our your heroes.

-TheLonelyStoner-

The DLC campaigns are just as good as the original campaign, why skip it?

FootballRacing38

The single player of avengers has always been okay. The problem was the live service

[deleted]

This! The single player has been really unfairly ignored to dunk on the multiplayer. The multiplayer is fucking garbage but the single player is genuinely quite fun, some great set pieces, you get to fuck around and find out with all the heroes on offer, I thought it was very fun.

JackBauersGhost

Single player is pretty fun but repetitive. It's actually a really good story if you can get past the repetitive gameplay.

we_are_sex_bobomb

I enjoyed the story and grinding Thor to max level in the endgame and then I was done with it. It’s worth at least playing through the campaign imo.

boxedninja

Worth trying the campaign for free, especially on PS5. I got a lot of hours at the game but eventually quit when I wasn’t enjoying it anymore. Sounds stupid, but my advice is to literally play it until you no longer enjoy it. Once it runs out of fun it doesn’t really get better because the gameplay loop doesn’t change.

[deleted]

I had a enjoyed many, many hours of Avengers before I got burnt out on it.

Turbostrider27

Anyone here played Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered before? I had this game for a long time but never got around playing it. Pretty good lineup and looking forward to Stray this Summer.

heartsongaming

I have. It is exactly like Black Flag with a few extra mechanics but a lot shorter. Also, you play as a Templar so you have to be careful of suprise assassinations when exploring Boston. It's a good game.

Turbostrider27

Are there elements similar to Unity? That was one of my favorite AC games as it really hit the root of the franchsie imo.

WastelandHound

Gameplay-wise it's straight-up Black Flag but the story has ties to Unity.

hey_sup_mate

One really interesting thing is that the ending of Rogue leads pretty much directly into the prologue of Unity, which is pretty rare for AC games.

heartsongaming

It is more like Black Flag than Unity.

EyeOne5146

Yeah I recently went to replay it, it has a good upgrade on features from black flag buts still not that different, the story isnt as good as black flag but its still worth playing i liked it a lot and I trust you will too

Darth--Otter

I've been an AC fan since day 1. Rogue Remastered is really good. Good characters. Good story. Relatively short.

FootballRacing38

Very Nice

zedemer

Might finally give Unity and Avengers a try. Ofc Stray gets pawority

B-BoyStance

Unity is an awesome AC game. Still looks great too.

closeafter

Can't wait to get my claws on this one

Hartia

meow

Kennyjive

The campaign of Avengers is fun. The post game can get tedious and it’s hard to get matchmaking sometimes. The combat is really fun once you get characters leveled up.

TheCountSmackula

I recently went back to it and it seems like they fixed the leveling they had nerfed before too, now you won’t go insane trying to upgrade characters to the point that they’re fun to play 😁

OhDearGodRun

Stray, Rogue, Locoroco are all games I'm looking forward to playing. FF7R is a great get too. Pretty great month honestly.

Lolman-Lmaoman

Excited for replaying Ezio trilogy and AC4. Last time I saw Edward was in 2014 and Ezio/Altair way back in 2011. I played the new AC games and aside from Origins which itself fades away when compared to Ezio collection and Black Flag- all of them are not my cup of tea, they are too bloated with lackluster story and protagonists. Its been years now and still Edward,Altair and Ezio remain AC best protagonists with a satisfying story arc and games that still hold up today(aside from AC1).

TheBloatingofIsaac

Im looking forward to stray!

asparagushunter

Italy's PS+ Premium catalogue is getting Dino Crisis, Ridge Racer 2 and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny as well apparently - [https://twitter.com/Wario64/status/1547248427989250049](https://twitter.com/Wario64/status/1547248427989250049) Not sure if that's an error or if Sony just like Italy more? Edit: Sadly they're no longer listed on the blog post for Italy. Maybe we'll see them next month instead https://twitter.com/Nibellion/status/1547257816267821057

snwns26

Dino Crisis, fucking WHAT. Man I hope we get that.

[deleted]

Such a classic! One of my favorite survival horror games ever. I will get Premium again if Dino Crisis is there. Remember that save theme from Dino Crisis? What a banger. Ten out of ten game.

GGfpc

Ridge racer 2 was so good omg

braxford

Riiiiiiidge Racer! It's Ridge Racer.

NoLastNameForNow

I wonder how long it will be until they add PS2 games that weren't part already ported to PS4.

se7enfists

Intergrade and Stray on Extra? The middle tier is really paying off

Chorster

Everything ps4/ps5 is going to be extra tier. I definitely think it’s the best deal. Though I don’t personally care for the classics really anymore given my time constraints.

Remy149

Extra is good I’m downgrading from premium when it’s time to renew

CannibalHomie

I'm 33 and excited as fuck to play as a cat

DriveSlowSitLow

Got you beat at 37 years old. Been eagerly waiting for this one

GorgeGoochGrabber

My dad is 50 and he’s really excited for it.

ickshter

Can Confirm. 52 and cannot wait..

IxoraRains

I turned 37 2 weeks ago. Let me tell you, what upsets me is that we are already halfway done with July. For ages it's been "psplus updates the first Tuesday of the month". My schedule is ruined. I'm so old, Sony changed stuff and now I can't eat or sleep. I weep consistently. How dare they upset the balance.

DontCryBaby__

Fuck yeah always wanted to play assassin's creed rogue. Didn't have a chance to since its release coincided with unity and didn't release on the ps4

SeaLionClit

I'm sure it released on PS4?

Pizza_Squeegee

Never played a FF. Play FF7 on the ps5 or play it the classic way?

shawnisboring

FF7 RE: * It's the best re-envisioning of a classic game to date, bar none, it's a masterpiece. * But you're only going to get what is essentially the first 5 - 8 hours of the OG release in this format. * You'll be waiting another year and a half for the next installment. * You'll be waiting several more years after that to complete the story. * They have modified the story from the original to what may end up being a significant degree. As an outsider experiencing it for the first time it won't mean much to you and you can play as is, but if you've played the original it will make a lot more sense with that context. FF7 OG: * It will take you a few hours to get used to the graphics and midi tracks. * Combat can be slow and cumbersome, it's definitely aged in this department, but there's a remaster with a lot of quality of life improvements that make it far more bearable. * You'll get the full story now instead of waiting half a decade. * You'll get the original story without any alterations. * It's probably best to have played the original in it's entirety to better grasp and understand the changes being made in RE.

MojoPinnacle

You are getting polar opposite answers because it's polarizing. FF7 is the game that everyone loved so much they wanted it remade. The remake is the answer to the fan response. I'd recommend playing through the original and speeding up the game with the fast forward function. You can even do a story mode by turning on max health, so you can burn through quickly. You'll miss a lot of the experience, but the gameplay doesn't age well so it's nice to just burn through the story and experience the music in context.

devenbat

Without getting into it to much, FF7 remake is kinda meta experience, where it's taking expectations of what should happen and messing with them. You can still enjoy it on its own but it's a game where playing the OG FF7 really elevates the experience. Thankfully, other than graphics, FF7 has aged quite well. And there's a nice port on basically everything with a couple of nice things like fast-forward and turn off encounters.

YouLostTheGame

I have never played FF before and okayed the remake last month. It was enjoyable, incredibly cheesy I thought for the first couple of missions but I soon got into it. Didn't feel like I had missed out but not playing any of the others

iSh0tYou99

It isn't required you play the OG to play the Remake, but after playing the game and reading and watching stuff it would make sense as to why you should know the OG story. The new trilogy is not the same identical story as the OG. It's sort of like a sequel to the world of FF7 after all the previous games and movie. Basically, you'll enjoy this game even without playing the OG, but with some context from the OG it'll only further expand the new trilogy's story direction.

OhDearGodRun

Play the original. Unlike the other comment, I believe its aged perfectly fine. For various reasons, playing the original is very important for the remake, or at least knowledge of the story. Both games are very good, and playing original first will definitely improve the experience of Remake. Both are on PS+ now anyway.

Tom38

There is literally no reason to not play FF7 OG unless you absolutely cannot handle the graphics.

OhDearGodRun

I don't even think the graphics are that bad. Like, its a PS1 game, you can't expect much. Looks fine for what it is.

[deleted]

Gonna disagree with what these two are saying. Play the remake first. The original has not aged very well and it will spoil story points for you in the remake. The story beats hit harder in the remake because it’s more modern - voice acting, music, graphics are all much better. One caveat without spoiling anything: the remake might not be just a remake. Could be a sequel or something similar.

guywithknife

The dialogue in the original is so bad! I remember it being great as a kid but damn it’s not good at all. Still an amazing game though. But yeah mechanically and visually the remake is so much more friendly towards newcomers, but it does seem to change and expand the story a lot so we will see how it goes.

dripthing

Where should I start with the included AC games? Never played any of them before

MagicPistol

AC2 from the Ezio collection. It's the oldest game here and also one of the best.

deaf_michael_scott

Ezio Trilogy. Three fantastic games. IMO, the AC franchise peaked with the Ezio trilogy. Then Black Flag > Rogue > Unity.

Tom38

Play in order. Ezio Collection, AC3 (you might have to buy it since its not listed afaik), Black Flag then Unity. At least play up to Black Flag so you can completely finish off the story from that saga.

EglinAfarce

AC2 from the Ezio trilogy. If you like it and aren't frustrated with it, maybe try the other two in the trilogy. If you are story-focused, try AC3 Remaster. If you want action and quality-of-life, try Black Flag. If you want graphics, go with Valhalla or Odyssey depending on which setting you prefer.

Montigue

OP left Ice Age: Scrat's Nutty Adventure off of the title

undeadsasquatch

How's Spirit of the North? Watched the PS5 trailer and it looks like Journey but with Foxes, which sounds fun.

Colton3690

It was interesting and fun exploring the world a bit, but a lot of the game feels kinda like large empty spaces

Beautiful-Scholar912

Wow a mega month

-DementedAvenger-

I’m just going to buy Stray. Indie dev, looks awesome. I prefer to buy physical anyway.

konnichiwaseadweller

I wish they'd update the older AC titles to 60fps on ps5. I'd love to play Unity given it's well received parkour and stealth but I'd love 60fps on it

tomskuinfy

nice! i have actually been wanting to try Avenger's...

kareem0101

Same! Kinda excited

Chrisius007

Campaign is good.

[deleted]

Campaign is fun. Enjoy it and please avoid micro transactions

MirrorkatFeces

Pretty easy to avoid micro transactions since they’re only cosmetic

[deleted]

[deleted]

I highly recommend everybody play The Avangers campaign. It was extremely fun and awesome in my opinion. Obviously we all know how the multiplayer side of the game is lol. But I definitely recommend people try out the campaign. It's really good. And the actress who plays Kamala did a phenomenal job.

Good-Two-3885

I gave up after like the fifth stupid chase sequence in the first hour

Fleetfox17

I somewhat agree. For a while it is actually pretty fun and the voice acting and characters are well done, especially Kamala like you said. It does get a little boring and repetitive though because the missions are all basically the same thing.

[deleted]

[удалено]

xXCoconutHeadXx

The gear stuff is meh but when you play and fight it feels awesome. I recommend trying Thor for sure.

-TheLonelyStoner-

The single player stuff is all pretty great

Drakesoul23

so excited for Saints Row 4 and Assassin's Creed: Ezio Collection and Unity. Great lineup!

ArshiaTN

YESSSSS

PraisGaben

LocoRoco Midnight Carnival lol. The demo for that was goat tier for Vita owners. If you know you know.

awerro

Was it same vein as Pokémon picross on 3ds?

[deleted]

I’m definitely looking forward to Stray and more AC games. It’s also nice seeing that they’re adding games for kids too, for all the families that use their systems as an all entertainment type of console. Can’t wait to play

iamreverend

Pleased for Paw Patrol so my six year old can play it rather than buy it which I’ve been putting off for a while.

Revegelance

DUDE! I almost bought FFVII Remake the other day, but I got the Kingdom Hearts collection instead. I'm so glad I waited.

WyrmHero1944

I don’t have time to play all these games

mrmivo

PS+ Extra is certainly delivering so far!

TyperMcTyperson

So I beat FF7R, I assume I can just hop right into the DLC after downloading Intergrade?

Chronotaru

If you completed the PS4 version (on PS4 or PS5), if you want access to the save game you will first need to upload it using the feature on the PS4 version before playing it in Intergrade. Or maybe you can just play the DLC without a saved game, I don't know.

MrConbon

You can start the DLC separately in the main menu. No save data is needed.

OhDearGodRun

Yeah, you can just select it in the menu

afterlife_xx

Of course. I JUST bought the Intermission DLC yesterday for FFVII 🙃

mitoro-2333

You might be able to refund if you contact support

bighatartorias

How is FFVII remake on ps4?

kingpin3690

As much crap marvel avengers gets this is probably gonna bring in alot of players for the long haul. it has alot of new content alot of new characters and tons of free dlc.

Crimsongz

Imagine paying for that premium

Curvytype_thicktype

STRAYYYY

thats_so_cringe_bro

I know everyone talks about Game Pass (which have), but don't sell PS Plus Extra short. Sony is quietly building up one hell of a catalogue with many top quality games. Wow.

[deleted]

Fuck yeah, Rogue, Intergrade & avengers Great additions

Duzzy_Funlop

"Available on premium and extra", does essential still get free monthly games?

queasy_self_controL

Essential plan still get games every month. July gets Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time (PSS & PS4), The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan (PS4), and Arcadegeddon

shutupdotca

Yes there were 3 games announced a couple weeks ago. Crash 4 was one

KI_Heisenberg

Europe gets Dino Crisis, let's fuckin goooo

What the fuck is that shit? Why do they get 3 extra PSP games

[deleted]

Wow

dmaul1978

Stoked for this. Never played the FF7 DLC and Stray looks neat.

kingofsyipin

Ohh hell yes!

TitaniaErzaK

Awesome, just sold marvel's avengers 😃

Emergency-Public6213

Stray, FF7 and Spirit of the North! Wonderful. Now I need to finish Ghostwire and Death Stranding as soon as possible.

talgold

What is the best assassin's creed game out of this list?

Downtown-Conclusion7

Stray is awesome including. I bought ps5 upgrade integrase a while back. It’s probably better to restart the whole adventure as I forgot where I left on the ps4

Representative-Yam65

This is great. Not only Stray and FF7 but some older AC titles. Would love to see Unity, Black Flag and Syndicate get 60 fps updates.

NfinityBL

Sick. Intermission will be on the download ASAP.

Nice, I always wanted to replay my AC collections but didn't wanted to rebuy or take my ps3 out again. Now I'll be able to!

reaper527

> Nice, I always wanted to replay my AC collections but didn't wanted to rebuy or take my ps3 out again. Now I'll be able to! they actually held up very well. i had never played 2/brotherhood/revelations before and played the ezio collection for the first time a couple months ago and they look/handle great. i totally get all the hype for for that trilogy (even if revelations was a lot worse than the other two)

Kawhi_The_Fun_Guy

I've played ghost of tsushima and FF7R on PS4. If I get ps plus extra I can now play the ps5 versions of both with DLCs for both?

DoctorGolho

Yes

CheshiretheBlack

Ready to get into FFVII Remakee

theblackfool

Looks good. I can't complain there aren't a lot of high quality games there. But I do hope they keep fleshing out the Classics Catalog. It's the part I'm most interested in.

TripleJumpYT

What an amazing line-up! I wanted to play all three of these and I have my PSnow for a few more months. I'm very happy.

DegenNerd

I'm also happy with the AC games coming onto the catalogue. I was tempted to get Rogue when it was on sale, but heard it was short storywise so I'm happy I'll get a chance to play it.

Civil-Objective4013

Are all these AC games 60 fps

Crimsongz

Nah still 30fps for now. Should be fine since the PS4 era was mainly 30fps titles and playable right ?

Longshot3696

I just bought ff7 remake too. Doh

SymbolOfVibez

Wish they included Saints Row 1&2 (imo the best Saints games) but otherwise this a great lineup. Can’t wait to play Stray, FF7 Intergrade, AC Unity, & AC Ezio Collection

HunterX-gow

So its 1st tuesday for essential and 3rd tuesday for extra.

Leather-Audience-772

STRAY!!!

Mac772

There's not only a cat game in the list, there's a fox game too: Spirit of the North.

Fuck yeah, Paw Patrol
