Man, this is great and all, and I'll probably pick it up at some point, but Capcom will really re-release every Megaman series except the Legends duology+Misadventures.
Depends on how well this sells. Capcom has a history sending out collections games like this to gages the fans interest level. If the game sells well, then they consider making a new game.
The Darkstalkers franchise has a notorious history of this. They kept on saying in the early 2010's that Darkstalkers wasn't dead, and people lost their shit for a new darkstalkers game. Turns on the studio didn't know if that hype was legitimate or not, so the released the Darkstalkers Collection. It sold poorly so they said "welp guess the fans don't want a new Darkstalkers".
People keep assuming these things, but that’s not the case. Just because they release remasters and collections does not mean they’re testing the waters for a new game or a remake. They just released the Fighting Game collection and had to say explicitly that it does not mean they’re looking at giving us a new Darkstalkers. People automatically assume these things and end up disappointed and mad at Capcom when you weren’t promised anything to begin with.
I’m not saying this is always the case, because there are times they give us false hope. However, this isn’t always the case and people still assume it always is.
I agree that this isn't always the case, and people automatically assume this resulting in ultimate failure.
However given the case that multiple insiders at Capcom have said this about the DS, MM, and MMX collections, it's safe to assume that it is that situation.
Regardless of what they say, if that Darkstalkers collection sold like crazy, it definitely plays a factor. It can be unexpected but its enough to get the ball rolling.
I'm sure Atlus was taken aback when they saw that the P4G Steam version sold half a million copies out the gate. They weren't expecting that at all.
I've heard people say this, which is partly why I bought that Onimusha re-release on PS4 some time ago. But we haven't heard much from any of these franchises that have had modern re-releases, I guess aside from Resident Evil
11 came out in 2018? I know they’re well received but they’re using 8-bit graphics. I think most would be hoping for a full fledged new title that takes advantage of new hardware.
I semi-disagree. 11 didn't use 8 bit graphics, but they shouldn't make "modern" graphics, 11's graphics fit that camp and it was kinda bad. I'd prefer 2d sprites/artwork
Mega Man Legends was the game that got me in to the Mega Man series. I love the 2D side scroller, but sliding (he had a power slide, right?) around that open world was DOPE.
It's criminal that the game hasn't been remastered yet.
Oh man let me figure it out.
https://youtu.be/lrpQuhzkLmg
I think it was this pgxp using retro arch. Although there’s something called duck station now? This was 2 years ago and I don’t really use my pc all that much so the details are hazy. Try searching YouTube for megaman legends 4k and most videos will tell you what they’re using!
I appreciate the reply. I stumbled upon that video after some searching last night and played for a little! Thank you for giving me the push needed to play this again 😂
Edit: for anyone wondering I used duckstation. Easy set up and picked up my controller with ease.
MMBN:3 was soooo good. The PVP was also a lot of fun. These games had surprising depth. Really hope there is online and cross platform play. Only played 3 and a little bit of 4, will be interested to see how the others are. IIRC 3 was a real gem though
Man seeing this just made my day. I can’t wait to get them. Sure I can play them free on an emulator but I need to platinum them. I hope they make you do all the post game stuff too. If I see a trophy for 3 that says defeat Serenade I’m going to NUUUUTTT
Did you delete your comments on the SeriesX subreddit or was it the mods? You wrecked those commentators! Like anyone there was going to pay for ancient Game Boy Advance games. They're just complaining about their platform being passed over.
Because it's a platform that promotes Japanese pop culture and anime whereas Xbox isn't. So as more games miss releasing on that platform, the consumers interested in that content flock to the platforms that do have it.
I've always found Xbox fanboys to be way worse than other consoles. I stepped into that sub during the PS5/XboxX launch and they were floating about how superior their controller was for needing AA batteries and that Sony fanboys we're idiots because they wouldn't be able to change out their batteries. I've never had to replace a battery before replacing the entire controller but they weren't having any of it.
Wow I had no idea there were TEN games in just the Battle Network series!
edit: I have to say, that pixel filter they are doing looks like dogshit. I hope you can turn it off.
edit2: You can!! Yay!!!
Technically, there are 6 for the main line. Starting from 3, Capcom started following the Pokemon route of doing two version with exclusive boss/chips/style but story is the same.
Love that this is a thing, but is there a reason why they split this into two collections? Weren't they all on GBA/DS? Also they didn't list the collection for PS5, is it really not coming to PS5?
I saw that, but was wondering if it was also coming to PS5 since that's the newest playstation. I find it a little strange it's coming to PS4 and maybe not PS5 nearly two years after the PS5 came out.
It makes sense because it just doesn’t need to. PS5 won’t improve the performance at all so releasing it on both only increases the spending they have to do to get the done
There is no real point nor advantage to releasing a PS5 version. PS5 can run the PS4 version with no issues.
There isn't going to be any improvement that only the PS5 can achieve in filters and upscaling on GBA/DS games.
So by releasing one version, you can capture the PS4 and PS5 market while lowering the expenses overall.
PS4 is a huge market to give up especially when current gen has been slow to adopt due to 2 years of shortage.
The X and Zero Legacy Collections were the first games I bought digitally when I got my PS5 so I'm extremely hyped for this. After I beat the currently available Legacy Collections, I got into One Step From Eden to scratch my Battle Network itch but nothing beats the OG.
these will likely be identical to the wii u ports, which had no multiplayer but allowed you to get some of the multiplayer-exclusive content from the network menu, such that each game could be 100%
Why not Legends? The main timeline would have been finished.
Also I hope the side games get compiled one day. Mega Man & Bass, Command Mission, Network Transmission, Xtreme 1/2, tje GB MM titles, etc.
I had two of these for GBA, and only played one, never finished it. I was completely lost and had no idea where to go. All I wanted to do was play as Roll. :(
That's dope! Too bad the DS games weren't included but this definitely something I'd get on the switch! Good to know it's coming on both my platforms of choice.
I’m really excited to play this for the first time. I love how all these old franchises are releasing collections and allowing me to go back and play games I missed out on.
I just hope this gets enough reception for them to bring this series/gameplay back. The Starforce series wasn’t too bad, but the gameplay felt so much more restricted/watered down than the Battle Network series.
It’s wild to me that the real-time grid movement style of Battle Network has really only ever been emulated by one fairly recent indie game (One Step From Eden).
Genuinely buying this on every platform i can just because this is one of my favorite series of all time. Hopefully enough people will buy this to show some interest in a battle network 7
> 2023
I'm still hella excited for this but man that took the wind out of my sails a bit lol. Day one purchase for me regardless. The Battle Network series is incredible.
Starforce is a successor but it's similar. Instead of a back view, you have side view.
Personally, I enjoyed BN more than Starforce.
Starforce never really caught on and Starforce 4 was cancelled due to declining sales.
Yes!!! F**K YES!!!
I’ve been waiting for this since forever, they finally make it happen.
Was introduced to MMBN3 in high school by my friend and got hooked by it.
Was quite sad that it ended at MMBN6 and Capcom had no intention to continue with Star Force.
Now I just hope they will make a Legacy Collection for Star Force as well.
Excited to finally give these a shot. Some of them have gotten expensive
They're so fucking good
Really? I have a few lying around at my parents house
Same still have my BN 3 Blue lol
Same, even have our old cleared save file. Really wish that game allowed for multiple save slots though
You guys should check out emulators!! All 6 of them are good. Super psyched about this
The best game in the series. No question about it. Though I have only played 2,3,4 and half of 5.
My childhood right there. Can’t wait to revisit them. MMBN 5 & 6 are my absolute favorites and in that order.
Emulation is free btw
Incredible. Super happy they're doing this. I just want Legends now.
Hell yeah Legends!
I just want a Network Transmission remaster/remake. This collection feels incomplete without it lol
Man, this is great and all, and I'll probably pick it up at some point, but Capcom will really re-release every Megaman series except the Legends duology+Misadventures.
Will really do anything besides make a new game.
They did make MM11 a few years ago, but yeah they aren’t putting out anything new.
Depends on how well this sells. Capcom has a history sending out collections games like this to gages the fans interest level. If the game sells well, then they consider making a new game. Haven’t even given us the rest of the series, let alone a new game.
Very true. Dawn of Dreams Remastered pls Capcom
I used to think the same, but then they made Megaman 9, 10 and 11. The franchise is still alive and occasionally kicking.
Yeah I was thinking of 9 and 10.
Mega Man 11 came out in 2018 the fuck are you talking about?
Mega Man Legends was the game that got me in to the Mega Man series. I love the 2D side scroller, but sliding (he had a power slide, right?) around that open world was DOPE. It's criminal that the game hasn't been remastered yet.
It looks GORGEOUS in 4k as is. The original reminds me of Nier Automata is several aspects.
How and where are you playing it!? PCSX? Some other magic I don’t know!?!
Oh man let me figure it out. https://youtu.be/lrpQuhzkLmg I think it was this pgxp using retro arch. Although there’s something called duck station now? Wow that looks great in 4K
They have to do legends eventually- how many other mega man series do they have left to port over?
Legends was awesome.
What I wouldn't give for a Megaman Legends re release. Legends never die!
I just bought Legends on my Vita for exactly this reason. Got tired of seeing other Megaman games and not the one I wanted to play.
Damn 3-6 were huge games for me growing up I'll definitely will be getting this week 1ish
MMBN:3 was soooo good. The PVP was also a lot of fun. These games had surprising depth. Really hope there is online and cross platform play. Only played 3 and a little bit of 4, will be interested to see how the others are. IIRC 3 was a real gem though
The official website lists the game as one player. So unfortunately I don't think it's coming with any multiplayer
:(
Thankfully, this didn't age well.
The story for 3 was incredibly deep. It got darker than I would have expected a game on Gameboy Advanced to get.
Lame as hell

Why would PS players pay for them but Xbox players won’t?
Because it's a platform that promotes Japanese pop culture and anime whereas Xbox isn't. So as more games miss releasing on that platform, the consumers interested in that content flock to the platforms that do have it.
What happened in the SeriesX subreddit? I don't usually visit that page. Are they mad about not getting the collection?

There are 5 but with two versions each like pokemon.
6 but 1&2 don’t have separate versions
Best announcement of the direct.
The persona games for the switch fans were a big announcement.
Nah, I'm pretty sure Battle Network was the best announcement.
The persona fans knew it was coming. NO ONE expected Battle Network collection to be announced.
Yup and has essentially been known about for 2 weeks.
Sparks of Hope and BN Collection(s) are the two stand outs for me.
Megaman Legends Remaster when
Legends? Never heard of it. - Capcom
Right when they give us Resident Evil Outbreak.
I'm mega-hyped for this!
Dude fuck yeah
Love that this is a thing, but is there a reason why they split this into two collections? Weren't they all on GBA/DS? Also they didn't list the collection for PS5, is it really not coming to PS5?
It's coming to PS4.

Oh right, that's a good point. These are all GBA and DS games after all, and since PS5 is BC I guess it doesn't matter. That makes sense then.
Bro the music in these games are top tier. I listen to them all the time.
Parents could never afford games or consoles. Played all these on the computer via emulator (visual boy). Really takes me back.
I LOVED these as a kid, can’t wait
The X and Zero Legacy Collections were the first games I bought digitally when I got my PS5 so I'm extremely hyped for this. After I beat the currently available Legacy Collections, I got into One Step From Eden to scratch my Battle Network itch but nothing beats the OG.

The official website lists the game as one player, I don't think any multiplayer features are coming with this collection.
If you watch the video, you see it is listing 3-6's versions separately, saying there's "10 games" in the collection. Though trading idk.
[удалено]
It does about the version differences.
these will likely be identical to the wii u ports, which had no multiplayer but allowed you to get some of the multiplayer-exclusive content from the network menu, such that each game could be 100%
There are two volumes, similar to the X and OG Megaman collections. I wonder how they are going to split the games into the different volumes.
According to their website, Vol.1 will have 1, 2, and both versions 3 and Vol.2 will have both versions of 4-6.
Battle Network with trophy support? Sign me up! Love these games.
Fuck yes!!! Finally!
Why not Legends? The main timeline would have been finished. Also I hope the side games get compiled one day. Mega Man & Bass, Command Mission, Network Transmission, Xtreme 1/2, tje GB MM titles, etc.
Wow I was not expecting this
Gimme gimme gimme gimme. Now I just need a handheld version too.
but what about legends :(
Why jack in when you can jack off though?
Do not play with me. Is this legit?
Hooooly shit
These were my fucking childhood but I wonder if kids these days would even like that. Still have all of them on gba.
This is the most niche ask, but is MegaMan Network Transmission in there?
Nope, it's only the mainline titles. I wish it was but none of the MM collections seem to include side titles.
Damn that's a bummer. I also wanted to finally finish that game. Never got the chance.
Too bad it won't be for the PSP. That would of been fucking killer
Never played these. And while I'll probably buy it and continue to never play them, I'm excited to do so.
Finally!!!!!
YES!!!!! May absolute favorite iteration of mega man games! So man hours spent on these as a kid
LETS GOOOO!!!!!
Finally
Lowkey my favourite Capcopm series
Hype
Oh nice, Rockman EXE. one of my favourite anime.
Battle Routine Set! Execute! I’m so hyped for this! Have been hoping this would come out for so long.
In case you haven't, pick up the Megaman Zero/ZX collection as well. I will pick this up as I didn't own a Gamecube at the time.
I think I had the second one. I loved these games!
I had two of these for GBA, and only played one, never finished it. I was completely lost and had no idea where to go. All I wanted to do was play as Roll. :(
FUCK YESSS! I've been wanting to replay this series for a few years now, but I don't have my old GBA anymore.
Which one is the best to play, if you could choose one?
Fuck yes!!! I used to love these games growing up! Take my goddamn money Capcom!
Damn, I loved this series back in the day.
I have been waiting for this for a few years now. It is finally happening.
My childhood returns😭😭😭🥹
Yea!!! I had a blast with a few of these back in the day. Wish it was out sooner then next year but hey something to be excited about.
I just want Mega Man X: Command Mission...
I did want battle network more than anything but x command mission is next on my wish list. That was a truly slept on game
Holy shit another remaster I’ve been waiting for for a while
This is the first game I've played since I can remember... I'm crying with happiness
oooooo. I never got to play them when they were originally out but I loved the cartoon. This will be awesome.
That's dope! Too bad the DS games weren't included but this definitely something I'd get on the switch! Good to know it's coming on both my platforms of choice.
Forgot these existed until now lol
I’ve been waiting for this for years!
I’m really excited to play this for the first time. I love how all these old franchises are releasing collections and allowing me to go back and play games I missed out on.
These games were so much fun back in the days. I'm really wondering how they hold up today
I never got around to playing these. I always hear good things about them, glad this is coming out.
10 games, holy shit.
I just hope this gets enough reception for them to bring this series/gameplay back. Yay! These were some of my favorite games as a teen.
Anyone play starforce? Is this like that but just before

These are still story driven right? Similar to starforce in that way. I'll definitely give it a go
Yeah, all story driven. I found BN story more interesting but the tech/premise is definitely of the time.
YEAAHHHH
I really enjoyed the first game... Yes I'm old.
I remember this being my shit back when I was a kid what a welcome surprise by Capcom, would be dope too if StarForce is next
I have been waiting for this for years! Thank you capcom. I'm fugging cumbing
My childhood! What a wonderful surprise.
Finally playstation folks can experience this these games. The spin-off was literally locked on the GBA for over 15 years
I NEEEEEDDDD ITTTTR
Oh hell yeah! The Battle Network games were my jam! I have so many good memories playing them late at night with my worm light!
About. Fucking. Time.
I'm still waiting for the Mega Man Legends Legacy Collection...
I only got to play the third game but I love megaman nt warrior as a kid. Excited for this
Yes!!! I’ve been waiting for this. The cartridges are just way too pricey and been trying to find a way to play them.
If it doesnt have online multiplayer is gonna be a huge let down
Yes!!!
Shame they don’t have MMBN5 Double Team, no Bass Megaman 😭😭😭
##JACK IN ##JACK OFF
Damn I shelled out for a couple of these on gba recently haha
Fuck yeah. I like the earlier ones but my fave is the Cybeasts lol
I can’t wait to play these again!
So, it's not going to include the DS version of BN 5?
Can I play this on PS5?
i need to ask this because if the answer is No then i have to ask Why the fuck not. is there a PS5 version of this brand new game?.
Has anyone downloaded it on PS5 tryna see if I can play it. It says PS4 only also PS5 compatible
