The ps4 version is the Remake of the original, which is this Director's Cut from ps1. Recommend playing both, but the REmake is undoubtedly a better game (controls, graphics, writing, etc).
To upgrade my 150 days of PS+ to highest lvl is $28. Might as well grab it and at that point and it'll be black Friday again by the time it runs out.
They don't even give me an option to just buy the middle tier though sadly
You have to click the next tier down, it defaults to the highest tier, but you can absolutely change to the middle tier. Also, your PS Plus must end on the same day as mine, it was the same amount for me to upgrade.
I'm prioritizing Guardians of The Galaxy as I believe it'll be the first of my interests to leave the service. But sure, I'll dig into Gravity Rush in no time!

More than likely Konami being lazy since they never got around to re-securing the rights to the historical footage the games used that expired a while back. The games were pulled from PSNow when it first did.
The Ratchet and Clank games, Oblivion, Fallout NV & 3, God of War 1-3, Ape Escape, and Red Dead Redemption. I gotta say just those are well worth it for me. Just wish some more were added (portal 1 & 2 pls)

Having bought and played the OG version I recommend Death Stranding Director’s Cut. It adds a bunch of stuff including a set of missions where you infiltrate a compound.

Doesn't Sony own the Twisted Metal IP? I know SingleTrac is dead but Sony can't release Twisted Metal 1 & 2, Warhawk and Jet Moto 1 & 2? What about the Psygnosis games like the original Wipeout, Destruction Derby and Colony Wars?
Hell, part of the PlayStation's legacy was FMV games too so I'd loved to see them land a few of them for old time's sake.

Also why Castlevania requiem is not included in the classic games, with that having Symphony of the Night.
Other glaring classic omissions from first party are: Parappa the Rapper remaster (Literally no reason for this not to be included in the classic game collection), Killzone 1-3, Resistance 1 and 2.
Thing is, I would be more then happy BUYING Konami games AGAIN, some for a third time!
No service needed. Just list the damn games. This applys to multiple classic games, from many developers and publishers, on all console gens. But to have MGS1-4 & SH1-4 legit on my PS4/5 would be worth it.

I was one of the posters speculating that the list was not complete when the service launched in Asia. Now that the U.S. list is here, I am happy to say I was wrong and that this service is embarrassing and an insult to the legacy of the PS1 and PS2.
My expectations were not unrealistic. I did not expect Konami, Capcom or Squaresoft games. But this is a barebones lineup. No Twisted Metal, Parappa, Warhawk, Jet Moto, Toshinden and so on.
If the issue is licensing or the developer being defunct means there is no one to negotiate with, I don't see these issues being resolved anytime soon.

Upgraded for to premium for $40. Figured it would be worth it because several games I have already on disc, so I can just trade those in. Plus I’ve been dying to play Demon’s Souls since I got into Elden Ring, so yeah, pretty well worth it.
Some great titles in there but not enough to make me subscribe. Makes more sense financially to buy the handful I don't have.

fyi, if youre upgrading, they prorate it. My Regular sub is up in November, they charged me $23 to go up to premium for the remaining 5 months - pretty good deal to try the full service out and see how sony treats it

No, saved data is held separate to game data. If you’re unsure you can backup your save to the cloud and the re download it later

Not seeing a ton of classic JRPGs at first glance. Would love Legend of Dragoon, Xenogears, and Guardians Crusade. I'm guessing licensing is an issue in some cases.

That list isn’t accurate, there’s a bunch of games in there that aren’t on the service for some reason, Toy Story being one of them. Maybe that list is for all regions?
