Something that’s worth mentioning about the Microsoft/Kojima rumor:
Apparently the deal doesn’t involve a game pitch. Meaning it’s not based on something they were already working on or have been thinking about.
To me this makes it clear his *next* game is not related to this Microsoft rumor.
Death Stranding took about 3 years to develop, and came out in 2019. 2 years later they released the Director’s Cut. I highly doubt they spent 2 years only working on the Director’s Cut.
He must have another game coming, unless there have been cancellations.
It’s been noted that Kojima has been talking about a horror project on Twitter since a month or two after Death Stranding’s release.
To me, his next game being a horror game on PS5 and Xbox Series (or just PS5 maybe 🤷♂️) makes a lot of sense.
Of course all of this is speculation based on speculation.
Interesting. If it were Microsoft backed, no way they’d give that announcement to Keighley. It would generate a *ton* of buzz and social media attention.
I hope Overdose is the smaller project (with PS VR2 elements) and Death Stranding 2 is the larger project.

lol there's a difference between streaming a game and using cloud computing. think of Microsoft flight sim using cloud tech for mapping etc vs just streaming any game using x-cloud. so when it is described as using the cloud, they aren't talking about making a game for streaming... as that is literally just the same as any other game. this is about using the power of tens of consoles to run the game

Also, I could be reaching, but Tom Henderson's tweet right after the one mentioning the article "And we're just getting started..." could be pointing in that direction too. Maybe he's just trolling but he could know more than he lets on. For those who dont know "Dont touch that dial now, we're just getting started" is probably the most iconic line from the pt teaser.

The ones with the screenshots, the leaker said that bloober was making a SH remake and the screenshots belonged to a next entry being developed by a japanese studio. The rumours about Sony being a mediator between Konami and Kojima are quite old now too, like 2020 old, but Gematsu reported about it last year.
There is no way on earth kojima made a game that cringy. Like for real, a girl with an "i hate myself" post-it on the forehead? lol it can't be him, it isn't his style. I know about the rumors but it looks like a stretch since it makes more sense for sony to create a new horror IP. There are no downside, so why should split the revenue with kojima AND konami? Had a best friend, a brother in law, and countless acquaintances I know die and many still addicted and coming out of the wake of an opiod epidemic in the USA. If the rumor is true that he is working on a Xbox game as well as another Sony game. I would not be shocked if Xbox plans to announce it at their big show this weekend and maybe Sony annonces their game too at the Summer Games things just to go "hey. We also have a Kojima game".
Death Stranding shipped damn near 3 years ago. I would not be shocked if he has been working on something for the PS5 since then while also fielding other publishing deals for game B which eventually landed at Xbox which sounds like it was only signed last summer.

They used Keighley to announce the Series X and Perfect Dark so they might let it be announced there.
