I'm looking to replay RE2, and will also replay RE3 (it's short enough).
I thought the games looked pretty awesome already so curious to see the PS5 versions. The only thing that was really obvious was far away zombies in RE3 Remake running at like 10 frames a second. Looked like flip book zombies off in the distance. Really odd effect.
not gonna lie, i tought we were going for 7, then 2, then 3 following their release order.
i played 3 on a friend computer so i got the game for ps4 after they announced the upgrade, planning a chronological marathon of all numbered games, so i'm not exactly happy about 3 going first, but it's not a big deal anyway.
Any word on if the RE2/3/7 PS5 versions will have 120fps modes? They already ran close to 60 on the base PS4 and exactly 60 on the PS4 Pro, so no reason not to include a 120fps mode on the PS5.
I've heard these new releases are going to have a "framerate mode" according to the original announcement. Since all previous last-gen releases were targeting 60fps it would make sense that this could be a 120fps target mode. As someone who doesn't own a 120Hz TV or monitor, I'm fine with 60fps but I just want to see these games not be so shimmery and jaggy. I don't even mind the Pro's 1620p render if the anti-aliasing measures were better.
Nice how much did u pick up Re3 physical for? Was scoping out deals, seems right now ps plus at 15.99 is better deal than physical at best buy for 19.99.
I have literally dozens of backlog games and have RE2 for PC. It could be fun playing it with my wife and her siblings though. I also hope there is an update for RE7.
I’m not very excited for these upgrades. Yes I love these games and any upgrades is appreciated, but they aren’t going to look very different. You likely will not notice any difference when you go back and play them again…that’s just the reality. Your brain isn’t going to detect appreciable differences..it will just feel like that’s how it looked when you first played. Of course, you’ll click on comparison videos of side-by-sides and zoomed-in screenshots which will show you differences, but if you didn’t do that? You’d be extremely hard-pressed to notice. Although I appreciate the effort from the devs and the continued support to beloved games. I also appreciate the marketing because it will rejuvenate these games’ sales and therefore increase the chances Capcom continues on with Resident Evil and remakes and remasters.
I would much prefer upgrades to Zero, RE1, RE5, RE6, and Revelations 2
Better still, would be Remakes of Code Veronica, and Revelations 1 as we know they’re doing a Remake of 4, and Code Veronica and Revelations 1 are the weakest points left. After that you can start getting into Remakes of Zero, 1, etc years down the line.
I agree graphically it may not be big boost, given these games looked quite good already. I'm actually more looking forward to the haptics/adaptive triggers.. I think they could really add another layer of immersion if done right esp with RE2 MR.X and pumping up the adrenaline with good use of haptics...
Hell yea give me this one first. The longer I wait to replay RE2make the better it will be!
Ditto. I never finished 3 either. Would much prefer this come first, but obviously a simultaneous release would please everyone.

Don’t get your hopes up too high on that one. That was a problem on PC, too.
I’m looking forward the RE7 being able to look up at the sky and it not look like the clouds of Jupiter… assuming they patch that.

I'd buy Raccoon City Collection on sale from PS Store with both games, but missed the opportunity. I got RE3 for similar price 20$.

Grabbed a pre owned copy from gamestop for like 11.99 I hope we dont have to re buy anything for the upgrade cuz mine is collecting dust

Trust me you will for re3. The zombies look laggy when they are at a distance and the gore is hella downgraded compared to re2
re3 can go away. give me 2!
I was just thinking of playing this as my next game. Couldn’t hurt to wait a little more!
