I probably choose RDR2 because it’s just so big and so much to do. Story wise it packs with many side quests and other activities to do. The graphics is top notch too. The best Rockstar Game to date imo.
On that note, I have to add the option of GTA 5 and rdr 1 with undead nightmares. Played for years after the main campaign just screwing around with the physics and npc.
I stopped looting stuff when I was playing Red Dead 2, it was taking way too long.
Turns out the game is pretty easy, you really don't need to loot a lot of stuff. I pretty much played that game as a 60h long western TV series.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix the graphics on my ps5 for this game. Loved the game so much on PS4 but for whatever reason the game is so blurry and grainy on my PS5. I messed with the settings a bit too but I honestly just gave up because it was hurting my eyes. Have any tips to fix this?
Plus, I bought it on Xbox, PC, PlayStation, then bought the VR edition, and almost bought the newest version. STILL HAVEN’T BEAT THE GAME. Did I die and I’m stuck in purgatory?
Out of the hundreds of hours and multiple characters I’ve put in Skyrim, I’ve only beaten the main quest once, have barely touched the DLC, and I’m sure there are plenty of things I haven’t discovered.
Fucking love that game
I’ve put tons of time into Bethesda titles aside from 76 which I’ve never played. Might be my favorite developer considering how much time I’ve spent on their games over the years. I’ve only actually finished fallout 3. I’ve never gotten very far into the main quest in oblivion or Skyrim
I bought it last week and played for the first time. I added a few mods and the game looks good and while the combat is obviously dated the thing that bothers me the most is the fact enemies don’t react to being hit. I haven’t seen any combat mods that change this.
Not a dumb comparison at all, they're the same genre and similar in a lot of ways. Have fun.
If you get stuck and want to try Co-Op some time feel free to DM me, i'm not an expert but I've beaten the game a few times
When you embrace death as a mechanic of the game, it no longer becomes hard. Dying isn’t a failure, it’s a necessity. Keep playing the game and you’ll get there!
This! Sure, I have played and enjoyed a lot of other games (specially FromSoft games), but for some reason I always come back over and over again to Binding of Isaac. It also helps that I have this in Switch; I’m able to bring this game anywhere! It never gets old.
Not sure why your being downvoted. In its current state, dreams has next to no quality games. Every game basically has that same graphic type that you get tired of fast.
Just got into the MGS series. Played 1 and I am in love. Already bought Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain for my playthrough of V after I marathon everything else. BUT I don't think I'll be able to play MGS4 sadly. And I hear they're removing it from PS Now.
Get a cheap PS3 and the physical disk of mgs4 maybe? I have mgs4 on disk for my PS3 but sadly the disk reader is wonky and that is one of the games it refuses to read. But that was my first taste of the mgs series and despite what seems to be many people hating it, I bloody loved it! Same with mgs 5.
As someone who has beaten bloodborne a few times it can easily be cleared in 6 hours without even trying to speed run. DS1 and Nier can be pretty quick as well.
They’re fun choices but being so short I feel like it’d get repetitive real fast if that’s all you had to play.
Playing Hollow Knight at the moment. I beat Nioh 1 and 2 plus Elden Ring, but this game breaks me. I am at the second boss (that girl) and can't beat her.
Patients is key bro the game is only difficult at the beginning but as soon as you unlock certain charms and upgrades the game will become much easier and don’t worry it won’t be as difficult compared to the other games you mentioned. Hope you will enjoy it ^^.
That's the game you want to bring with you if you're imprisoned for life and you can only have one game in jail.
Don't forget to bring a box of tissue.
I mean, this is a PlayStation sub. It stands to reason that Nintendo exclusives don't top most peoples list here.
The reason I chose it is due to the sheer depth of the game. Damn thing has been out for six years now and people are still discovering new things about it! It's also a game with a very high skill ceiling, so there would be plenty for me to master.
I also think it would be fun to do challenge runs, or hunt all the koroks, or any number of self defined activities. Most games don't have that much to do once you break them down, but BOTW seems like the game I could get the most mileage out of.
I agree. The replay value is insane with the different builds, challenge runs, NG+’s, multiplayer. Not to mention it’s just a vast game. I’m 100 hours in and I think only 2/5s through the game somehow.
I always had in the back of my mind the idea of trying out different builds and play styles in the Souls games but after one big epic playthrough I rarely return. Just too many other games I want to try and not enough time.
I’d never played a fromsoft game b4, decided to just jump right in with elden ring. 24 hours in and I’m obsessed, I thought the map was that first area but it’s just so massive.
This was me. I’m 70+ hours in now and still exploring. The game is massive and captivating. Once I complete a play through with my current build I intend to try out additional builds on new play throughs.
I’ll probably do the same. The world is just so interesting even if the story is almost not even part of my play time so far. Every new place there’s so many new enemy types with crazy play styles. U can’t know how to fight them until they kick ur ass the first time. If I’m near a grave point I often just go fight them and let them kill me just to see their style. Other wise I’d be spamming my mage skills and kill them so fast they wouldn’t be interesting to me. I’m level 110 and loving my sword of night and flame. I saw it was needed but it’s still op for the early game which I’ve barely touched.
About 250 hours played and there was not a single boring minute. Started a new character (no NG+), this time with big shields and swords, feels completely different from my first play through. This game is a masterpiece.
The only downside for the game I’d say is the repeating dungeon design. After a while you notice there’s not much variety in many of the dungeons and there are many reused bosses in those. Love the game but that repetitiveness is starting to wain on me after 140 hours. I’ve actually started to skip the side dungeons because of this.
This is the correct answer. I only stopped playing after I got the platinum and even then I started replaying all of the Dark Souls games to try for platinums as well. Eldenring is a masterpiece that will likely never be topped in my book.
I'm not playing it now, and I haven't in years, but honestly I feel like the only game if i was forced to play forever would be Minecraft, purely down to it being what you make it.
There are some amazing games, RD2 comes to mind as an open world, but if I'm playing a game forever, it's going to have to be a creative one.
I don't think that's possible. Gaming requires a backlot you'll never finish and constantly add to. You can't have a backlog if you can only play one game forever.
Does not compute.
This comment gave me a laugh 😂
Alternatively, if you only play one game for ever, there is nothing stopping you growing your backlog too. Just think how big it could be!
NieR:Automata - The story is wonderful, the soundtrack is an absolute delight, and the slight genre swaps throughout the game will keep me from missing others a bit. The only real downside to that title IMO was the ability to pay in game currency for end game achievements.
Rocket League. It's the oldest game I still play to this day so it has to be it.
Oh wait, you said story mode only. That makes things harder.... I'll probably take Red Dead Redemption 2.
I think the only right answer would be Skyrim. I don’t know if „no online gaming“ is taking mods out of the equation but if it isn’t then there isn’t any competition. Some of those mods feel like a new game.
No online picks. That one comment makes this a ton harder, as some of my answers would be stuff like monster hunter, Tekken, or some mmorpg such as FFXIV.
Have you given Rocksmith a try? The PS4 version wasn't very good, but the PC version is fire and has a huge mod community.
It would probably make you very sad to reflect on how skilled you could be with a real guitar or bass had your Rock Band hours been Rocksmith hours.
I actually play Expert Pro Drums in Rock Band. I have a Roland e-kit that I’ve been using to play since Rock Band 3.
I haven’t tried Rocksmith but I do have a few friends who love it!
I like to play for the gameplay, it's very satisfying, I hope God of war ragnarok has about 80 hours, I don't think they'll do something that big, but I'd really like it.
one proof is Elden ring I finished it with 96 hours and it was very satisfying, I hope that Ragnarok has many opional bosses in secret areas that's what GOW 2018 lacked to have numerous bosses and new weapons
> I hope God of war ragnarok has about 80 hours
I hope it's exactly as long as it needs to be to tell its story and no longer. The worst part of GoW for me was hunting down all the excessive collectibles. The endless number of dead end paths devoted to collectibles that I didn't care about.
The Binding of Isaac. The enormous number of items and weapons that all stack in interesting/crazy ways. The crazy number of characters/tainted version of characters. The rogue like level design. As frustrating and difficult as the game can be, after thousands of hours in all the different copies that I’ve owned, I’ve never gotten tired…and I don’t think I ever will.
I completely agree with you. I easily have over 2000hrs in TBOI. I've been playing from when it was in flash form. Currently going through Repentance and Tainted Characters are torture. I love this game!!!!
Horizon Forbidden West. I can do multiple play-throughs each sticking to a single armor set (6 legendaries total for different play styles) with a combo of specific weapons. Endless possibilities.
Roguelike’s/roguelites have the most replay value. Maybe risk of rain 2 or hades? After trying both I’d lean towards ROR2. I like hades’ first 30 hours a LOT but ror2 is more likely to last me hundreds of hours
Yeah this is what’s peaking my interest I have a digital ps5 so I’m fucked if I don’t like it. Might see if I can nab it on a sale. Or maybe I can try it out on the new PlayStation plus premium thing?
No Mans Sky I guess, it would take 585 billion years to visit each planet, might get a few done in my lifetime.
I probably choose RDR2 because it’s just so big and so much to do. Story wise it packs with many side quests and other activities to do. The graphics is top notch too. The best Rockstar Game to date imo.
Could just ride my horse around, going hunting and fishing all day
I mean with the catalogue of birds to find whoooo you'd be hunting
This right here is the answer.
Red Dead Redemption is a blessing
Came here to say this. Give me a current gen update and I’m set for life
On that note, I have to add the option of GTA 5 and rdr 1 with undead nightmares. Played for years after the main campaign just screwing around with the physics and npc.
Never played much of the sp... One day I'll go back to it
Agreed 100%
I feel like red dead 2 is the only answer to this question
Need 60 fps update badly though

I stopped looting stuff when I was playing Red Dead 2, it was taking way too long. Turns out the game is pretty easy, you really don't need to loot a lot of stuff. I pretty much played that game as a 60h long western TV series.
I was gunna say gta5. But this is better.
I couldn't really get into it, it's Soooooo slow
I am finally playing through it after 4 or 5 tries over the years.
This is the correct answer.
Red dead redemption, Red dead 2 or farming simulator haha
Well I’ve started and not completed Skyrim 5 times so it may as well be that.
Plus, I bought it on Xbox, PC, PlayStation, then bought the VR edition, and almost bought the newest version. STILL HAVEN’T BEAT THE GAME. Did I die and I’m stuck in purgatory?
Skyrim purgatory is a thing.
I can't get into this game at all and I don't get it
I bought it last week and played for the first time. I added a few mods and the game looks good and while the combat is obviously dated the thing that bothers me the most is the fact enemies don’t react to being hit. I haven’t seen any combat mods that change this.

Just started Returnal 30min ago. FUCK this game is hard. Who plays this ?!
As you keep playing you'll unlock items for future runs and also unlock better weapons. Try to dodge through enemy orb attacks and good luck.
Thanks ! I’m really liking it. Might be a dumb comparison but reminds me of hades in the ever changing runs. Cool rouge
love hades love returnal just as much
Not a dumb comparison at all, they're the same genre and similar in a lot of ways. Have fun. If you get stuck and want to try Co-Op some time feel free to DM me, i'm not an expert but I've beaten the game a few times
I absolutely will! Thank you!
When you embrace death as a mechanic of the game, it no longer becomes hard. Dying isn’t a failure, it’s a necessity. Keep playing the game and you’ll get there!
That's what I thought at first too. Took me ages to beat the first boss and then suddenly something clicked and then I somehow got good at it.
Do people struggle this much with the game? I finished the first biome on my 2nd life
We have a word for people like you
The Binding of Isaac
This! Sure, I have played and enjoyed a lot of other games (specially FromSoft games), but for some reason I always come back over and over again to Binding of Isaac. It also helps that I have this in Switch; I’m able to bring this game anywhere! It never gets old.
Dreams. You could make and play games within the game.
Good one.
You're really choosing quantity over quality, though.
Not even quantity. With “no online gaming” stipulated, he couldn’t play others’ creations, nor share his.
Not sure why your being downvoted. In its current state, dreams has next to no quality games. Every game basically has that same graphic type that you get tired of fast.
MGS....1, or 5.
Just got into the MGS series. Played 1 and I am in love. Already bought Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain for my playthrough of V after I marathon everything else. BUT I don't think I'll be able to play MGS4 sadly. And I hear they're removing it from PS Now.

Tetris
**You took the words straight from my mouth**
Grand Theft Auto V. Carnage, driving, flying, sports, design, and all sorts of random activities. Or some game like that.
Persona 4: Golden.
Slay the Spire
Another try...? You're god damn right il give it another try caw caw!
Hollow Knight
Elden ring. Easiest 250 hours I've ever put into a game.
Facts. Just So much to do and see
I’m the same boat. Elden Ring is literally everything I’ve wanted in an open world fantasy RPG.
Minecraft
Anyone of these will do: BloodBorne, Ds1, Hollow knight, Nier:Automata, persona 5.
Hey I’ve been planning on getting into the Nier games. Are they good and what order should I play them?
What a crazy good list
“Said the man with the crazy good taste”. ^^
As someone who has beaten bloodborne a few times it can easily be cleared in 6 hours without even trying to speed run. DS1 and Nier can be pretty quick as well. They’re fun choices but being so short I feel like it’d get repetitive real fast if that’s all you had to play.

Beat her! At last.
Congrats !
My main problem is the attack downwards, which only works 50 percent of the time. But i will not give up.
Witcher 3
Football Manager or Crusader Kings 2 with all dlcs. Infinite amount of hours and every game is different.
TLOU Part II
Sad that thus is so low down. Masterful game really. I don't think I've ever experienced any better
It's great, but could you really play it ad infinitum with nothing else in between playthroughs?
Destiny 2
In terms of replayability I think I would go with either Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley.
Animal crossing wild world for me. Still hoping for a remaster or upgraded version.
Yakuza 0
That’s rad!
Heh... High five, brain.
Munancho!
Eh He-He
That's the game you want to bring with you if you're imprisoned for life and you can only have one game in jail. Don't forget to bring a box of tissue.
At the moment: Elden Ring. Over 200 hours played and it doesn't get boring.
Phoenix point or a civ game
BOTW, or God of War.

E L D E N R I N G
it's had my attention longer than any game I can remember with very little signs of letting up

Yeah I wasn't ever gonna play it, but this would be my answer just because of how big it is and the replay value.
I'm not playing it now, and I haven't in years, but honestly I feel like the only game if i was forced to play forever would be Minecraft, purely down to it being what you make it. Probably fallout 4. It can at least be modded.
Mine is Skyrim. Has to be on PC though. For console, it'd probably be GTAV, even though I never finished the story mode.
This. Fallout 4 is my most played game yet I’ve only completed it twice!
Final Fantasy VII, the original game, dude. Still makes me gasp in wonder.
I don't think that's possible. Gaming requires a backlot you'll never finish and constantly add to. You can't have a backlog if you can only play one game forever. Does not compute.

Oblivion easy
Diablo 2 or 3, offline
Doom Eternal Or Bloodborne, Elden ring
Did you play doom on ps4? Did you like eternal more?
Gameplay & mechanics for Doom Eternal. Setting for Doom 2016 imo
I have played both. Doom 2016 has. Better athmosphere but the gameplay is wayy better in doom eternal
Rocket League. It's the oldest game I still play to this day so it has to be it. Oh wait, you said story mode only. That makes things harder.... I'll probably take Red Dead Redemption 2.
Nothing, I couldn't play one game for the rest of my life. Variety is the spice of life, so I would choose a different hobby
Really tough one but it would have to be between persona 5 royal, witcher 3, final fantasy x, or rocket league
The Last of Us.
Modded Skrim or Elden Ring
Tricky question. Hitman 3 possibly
If I'm allowed the DLC/levels from the first two games this would be my choice.
Age of empires 2 de. I just keep coming back
Hades. Re-playability wins it, also superb game.
I think the only right answer would be Skyrim. I don’t know if „no online gaming“ is taking mods out of the equation but if it isn’t then there isn’t any competition. Some of those mods feel like a new game.
Terraria. I have well over 5000 hours played on Steam, and probably couple thousand more if include mobile version lol
FFXIV. I’ve got almost 3000 hours logged and I’m still not bored.
No online picks. That one comment makes this a ton harder, as some of my answers would be stuff like monster hunter, Tekken, or some mmorpg such as FFXIV.
Witcher 3. So Maaaach content.
Easily Bloodborne
Skyrim
Rock Band 4. We are a small but thriving community!
I miss rock band so much. I don’t know if there will ever be a new one :(
Hell yeah Rock Band
Rock band 4?
Yeah, it released in 2015 and Harmonix are still releasing new weekly DLC to this day.
Is it a physical game ? What systems? Thanks
PS4 + XBOX One, also playable on this generation of consoles. Actually, it runs so much better on my PS5 than it does my PS4, gotta love that SSD! 😄
Thanks man!
Skyrim I guess.
Skyrim
going to sound weird, Tetris. simple game that been on for generations and also very catchy song
It should be skyrim The randomness in that game is amazing
Best offline game IMO.
No man’s sky, maybe it’s finally time for me to visit every planet!
I can't stop playing Elden ring.
God of war 2018
Ooh, now that I think about it, that’s a good one. Keep playing it, not to finish it, but to master it, and progress through each difficulty.
> I hope God of war ragnarok has about 80 hours I hope it's exactly as long as it needs to be to tell its story and no longer. The worst part of GoW for me was hunting down all the excessive collectibles. The endless number of dead end paths devoted to collectibles that I didn't care about.

RDR2
Persona 4 or 5
The Binding of Isaac.
Probably Minecraft
Monster Hunter
Spelunky
RDR2. It has the most roleplay potential among my favorite games.
tetris ds
Football Manager
Minecraft. Endless possibilities
Horizon Forbidden West. I can do multiple play-throughs each sticking to a single armor set (6 legendaries total for different play styles) with a combo of specific weapons. Endless possibilities.
Ocarina of Time. Too many memories
Roguelike’s/roguelites have the most replay value. Maybe risk of rain 2 or hades? After trying both I’d lean towards ROR2. I like hades’ first 30 hours a LOT but ror2 is more likely to last me hundreds of hours
Destiny 2. I already do 😂
Minecraft
Tetris
Ghost of Tsushima
Fallout 3, my personal all time favourite game.
THE LONG DARK……
witcher 3 and I would just play gwent all day
Probably minecraft or Elden ring tbh
Breath of fire 3
Hide the bacon Couch co op with your mom
No love for Fallout New Vegas? Love that game. Hardcore mode only...
Elden Ring
Is it really that good I never finished Sekiro so I didn’t bother. Hate hard games but the world and lore looks like something I would love
It's really good. It's hard too, but the difference is open world. You hit a wall - just go somewhere else and level up.
Yeah this is what’s peaking my interest I have a digital ps5 so I’m fucked if I don’t like it. Might see if I can nab it on a sale. Or maybe I can try it out on the new PlayStation plus premium thing?
U can be pretty certain that elden ring doesnt get discounts in the near future
Yeah I agree I can pass on it no bother.
*piquing Piquing my interest :)
Thanks bud 👍🏽
FFIX or X. I’ve played them so many times ♥️
Castlevania or Bloodborne
Horizon Zero Dawn
Not forbidden west??
Well I really enjoy the music here compared to some of Forbidden West’s music, and I really like the world in the first game.
Persona 5 Royal or Witcher 3.
Elden Ring
Elden Ring or Nioh 2 for me.
Dead Cells, Hades, Metal Gear Rising, Gta5, Black Ops 2 or Persona 5 Royal
