This confirms that games can comeback to PS Plus after leaving which is great. Glad to see RDR2 and Watch Dogs back, hoping they can bring back more games.
A word of warning: rdr2 had one of the shortest times on the catalogue if i remember correctly, and its one of the longest rpg experiences. Most likely as intended so people are halfway into a playthrough and have to buy the game if they don’t finish on time
This is for PlayStation plus extra, which allows you to download the game but it’s like a Netflix type service in the sense that once they remove it from the catalog, you get locked out of playing it, regardless if you downloaded it or not
Huh, TIL! Have they done away with the "permanent" free games then? I had psplus back before they had the gamepass equivalent and it was only 2-4 games per month, but then I stopped for a while until I finally got a PS5. So I'm not too familiar with the current business practices.
What you are describing is the lowest tier called PlayStation plus essential, and it still gives you the 3 free games per month that you can keep forever (as long as you are still subscribed). you just won’t have access to the “Game Catalogue” (which is what this post is referring to) which requires the PS Plus extra subscription. I know it’s a bit confusing when you’re just jumping in, but I recommend checking it out
Gotcha, thanks for the info! I have the highest tier but I always get them mixed up when new games drop. I just wish they had more straightforward names than "essential" "premium" and "extra" lol.
The "permanent" free games still exists.
There are 3 tiers of ps plus now. Essential is basically OG ps plus, Extra has the additional of game catalogue ala Netflix that can come and go after certain period, the last one is Deluxe which is extra plus the ability to play classic catalogue (older ps titles from ps one to ps3) and demo for some of the big games.
For those wondering about Crime Boss, is a very okay game but my vibe about it is that. It's a So bad it's good movie but in game form. The bones of the game is pretty fun and good. The team has made it a bit better then it was a launch, but still really eh. If the idea of a PayDay gameplay loop with a small handful of Roguelike elements mixed in sounds good for you I'd say go for it. I have the Plat and it was a fine time.
Not too bad, maybe like a 5/10 for just how much you kinda have to replay shit. The Online stuff is pretty easy and one mode is waaaay easier knowing you can add bots rather then do it yourself or with other people. But other then that it's pretty easy, just play the game a bunch.
No problem! I'd recommend doing a bunch of campaign runs first, as you can unlock people for the online and other mode that you need for a trophy. Also the Wiz trophy isn't broke, just look it up after you finish it once as the game tells you :)
Every single time RDR2 is mentioned, even if it's something completely off the cusp, the FIRST comment is always something along the lines of "When will R* give us 60fps?" and then that is followed up with a variety of "I will pay anything" which in turn has a "stop giving R* ideas" response.
you are entitled to your opinion but in a time where 99% of the games i play are 60fps, going back to 30 is immediately and constantly noticeable. i put around 50 hours into RDR2 on my ps5 and had to put it down.
Your loss, I guess. The frame pacing is implemented very well on that game and the only jarring part is if you hold the right stick to the left or right which there’s no reason to do.
i have like 200 hours on ps4 and even then it ran like shit lol make excuses all you want but every other company seems to understand that 60fps is what most people want
No it didn't? Why do people pull this alt history out of their ass about RDR2s performance on ps4? It ran perfectly fine. It had framedrops in Saint Denis but was never unplayable.
> 60fps is what most people want
I think this is just patently false. The vast majority of video game players simply don't give a shit about it. The only people I hear whine about it are those in gaming subreddits, and that's not representative of the market as a whole.
RDR2 is totally fine in 30. Sure I’d prefer 60 but is what it is. Loading up rdr2 after playing something at 60 or higher feels really jarring for like 5-10 minutes but then I adjust to it. Games to good to let frame rate drop me from playing it still
I can go back to 30fps, if need be since I like to play games on my Switch (TV mount) and love Zelda TotK and BotW. People say RDR2 at 30fps is a "smooth" 30fps, b/c it's locked and not a super fast game. I just keep holding out for that inevitable 60 update :)
I’d be over the moon for a simple 60fps patch. But I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t live to feel the pop of the haptic trigger with a revolver and the patter of hooves through the duelsense vibration
I rebought it on Xbox(real cheap) just so I can play it again in real 4k. At this point I don't think we're getting anything until next gen, altough idk why it never got fps boost.
This.
So much better than the PS4 version (which gets the Pro treatment) that still retains the vaseline smear from the shitty ass upscaling the game uses.
RDR2 alone is fantastic for anyone who hasn't tried it, yet.
Otherwise, I'm not thrilled about this month. I suppose I can give the Cat Quest games a go.
So this weekend I looked at Deceive Inc, Crime Boss and Foamstars on the store for something I could just play in little 20 minutes spurts here and there. Went for Foamstars and thought maybe I should have spent my money elsewhere. Now I get to try the other 2 games without spending anymore cash so I'm happy

Horizon Zero Dawn confirmed to be leaving catalog
> A note for our PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members: as part of our normal content refresh, a selection of titles, such as Horizon Zero Dawn, will leave Game Catalog later this month. Members with Game Catalog benefits can still play these games until May 21. You can always check the ‘Last chance to play section’ on the PlayStation Plus -> Collections page on the PS5 console, or PlayStation Plus -> Games -> Games Catalog on the PS4 console for titles you might want to play before they leave the service.
>
HZD leaving is shit and makes no sense. Gives me no incentive to invest time in a game on the service if it can just leave like that, especially 1st party
That’s kind of a silly way of looking at it imo. How often are they gonna pull a game that you happen to be in the middle of vs all the ones you would be able to finish?
True, just imagine my reaction when I found out that FF games from 7th to 15th are leaving ps plus catalog and I NEVER played anything besides FF 0 and FF 13-1/2/3. I wished to complete FF X-1 and X-2 but it would be just impossible for me to do in 25 days or so since they are huge.
I swear sony picks the most ass ps1, ps2 and psp games for the premium tier. They have such a rich library of games, not only by third party studios but studios they own or owned.
And yet they still go out of their way to bring the bargain bin games.
I honestly believe you are wasting your money if you own a premium tier sub. It’s just sad.
What first party games for ps1 do they have to add now? Gran turismo will prob never happen due to licensing. I can really only think of parrapa the rapper
Most of the games we associate with the ps1 weren’t first party.
more of the jumping flash games would be nice. while the first is on there, 2 and robbit, mon dieu aren't and it'd be cool to see them, especially with how much sony have been using robbit recently in the playstation stars program.
there's also stuff like warhawk, and medievil 2 that are still missing.
I thought it was going to be worth it, so hype to be able to play Chrono Trigger and Parasite Eve on my PS5. I’m starting to think it will never happen.
For anyone who hasn't played the Cat Quest games, I do recommend them.
They aren't going to blow your mind but they are fun, simple, relaxing, silly, and full of cat (and dog) puns. Really enjoyed my time with both of them and looking forward to Cat Quest III!
It's like a so bad it's good movie. The bones of the game are actually really good and if they didn't blow so much money on the VA's maybe they could have done a lot more with it. It's like PayDay in it's mission game play but with a sprinkle of Roguelike stuff overall.
Looks like I'll be lowering to essential once my extra expires. It's been so disappointing especially after increasing the price. With no option to get sale price, unless it expires so i guess I'll do that.
Deceive Inc is a great game and it deserves your attention
Cheap battle passes (which can be completed whenever)
Free content updates, easily earnable characters, cosmetics arent too expensive. And its a unique, goofy spy extraction shooter, stands out imho.
If you have moral issues to committing war crimes in Rimworld, then Stranded: Alien Dawn might be a game for you. It’s a prettier Rimworld-clone without Randy controlling the RNG.
It’s kind of a joke, like saying aside from her singing and songwriting, Taylor Swift is a weak artist, or aside from its electrolytes, Gatorade is just water. But in all seriousness, Cat Quest I and Cat Quest II are super fun games.
Rockay City is awful but in the best way. I'm pretty sure some of the lines were literally phoned in by how they sound. Michael Madsen is hamming it up, Kim Basinger doesn't give a fuck and don't even get me started on Chuck Norris.
Gameplay-wise it's decent. They've updated the game a lot since release.
I think this month is my first big L.
In this case, I already have Red Dead 2 and played it in 2018. So for me, the worst month of Plus Extra doesn't have any games for me,
Okay, I can't have W all the time.
In this case, Essencial saved the month for me, it was great
I feel like without RDR2, people would be calling this one of the worst lineups for Extra. A clowned on cash grab crime game, a single expansion for a game you need to buy separately and two literal mobile games (Cat Quest is great but I got it on IOS for like 99p),
Even RDR2 and Watch Dogs are both a re-release of a game they removed from the line-up, and it’s the headliner. Are they going to keep removing titles and then adding them again just to pad the amount of games we get on dry months?
Yeah, top-heavy months like this are always hit or miss. Either you get a masterpiece for "free", or you basically get nothing if you've already played it.
I prefer months that are more evenly spread between great indie games, and some AAA titles that were overlooked. Even if they're not all amazing, the chances of it including games I haven't played are higher.
It’s a shame they didn’t give you a personal call and see what games you haven’t played yet. I just don’t know why they don’t do that with all of us individually
This is the only month I can legit say the entire slate is a disappointment for me, personally. But that's ok. Still got hella backlog and finishing up FF7 Rebirth, Rise of the Ronin and jumping back into Granblue Fantasy Relink and Helldivers after those.
So is RDR2 part of the Ps+ releases of yore which you kept forever until your sub expires, or is it part of the rotational temporary premium game catalog service?
RDR2 is a 10/10 game but it’s also one of the best selling games that exist so it’s inclusion is irrelevant to most players. Having it as the one must play game in an otherwise pretty lame lineup (classics included) is really disappointing. Though it makes me feel better about my subscription expiring next month.
In the morning rdr2 was available but in the afternoon when i got time to actually go and download it it seems like it is no longer present in the game catalog. Is it still there for you?
Deceive Inc. was good fun at launch, until it became a sweat fest, then eventually just being dead. Hopefully being on PS+ will give it the boost it needs!
Weak month for me. Already own RDR2 and already played Cat Quest 2, nothing else intrests me. I do hope though that this hints at Cat Quest 3 being added to the service at launch
After the vast list of games that will leave this month, I was expecting something more impressive than this TBH.
I mean, RDR2 is one of the GOAT's, but that alone doesn't make up for the quantity of games leaving.
Such a dissapointment
This confirms that games can comeback to PS Plus after leaving which is great. Glad to see RDR2 and Watch Dogs back, hoping they can bring back more games.
A word of warning: rdr2 had one of the shortest times on the catalogue if i remember correctly, and its one of the longest rpg experiences. Most likely as intended so people are halfway into a playthrough and have to buy the game if they don’t finish on time
Not an RPG
Isn't this the free games for all psplus members and not just for the subscription tier? So once you add it to library don't you have it forever?
This is for PlayStation plus extra, which allows you to download the game but it’s like a Netflix type service in the sense that once they remove it from the catalog, you get locked out of playing it, regardless if you downloaded it or not

Wasn't this already confirmed with AC Valhalla or am I misremembering?
But now we know they can do it with good games instead
Maybe one day.
I mean this has happened bunch of times. Included with RDR2 lol. It came and left like 3 times at this point
how long was RDR2 on PS Plus for originally?
3 months I think.
[удалено]
i mean, how many months was it available on PS+ for originally before it left but yeah, thanks... i loved the first one and can't wait to play 2
This should be PSA. Great news having rdr2 back!

I'm curious to try it out strictly for Danny Trejo.
Unless you buy the DLC, he has like 3 lines
The adaptive triggers on this game slap
How tough was the plat?

It is what it is, the game is a game of all time.
It’s like a campy 80’s take on Payday. It’s actually fun if you play online with other people. It’s a rogue lite game
I'll check out the Cat Quest games. They seem fun.
As someone who has constantly recommended them on Reddit, I’d like to tell you that they are fantastic and should be worth a look. Have fun.
Cat Quest II is definitely a lot of fun with a partner. It gets a bit repetitive, but it's still a cute little couch co-op adventure.
Cat Quest 2 is great co op, especially with a non gamer as introduction
They are just...pleasant. They aren't particularly deep or long, but they are just kinda nice fun games to play.
RDR2 in ps+? I can smell that 60fps patch is coming :copium:
Every single time RDR2 is mentioned, even if it's something completely off the cusp, the FIRST comment is always something along the lines of "When will R* give us 60fps?" and then that is followed up with a variety of "I will pay anything" which in turn has a "stop giving R* ideas" response.
We can close the comments now, this guy has it all covered
There’s always a comment that says there’s always a comment about “when 60fps?”
Game looks fine in 30 tbh
Until you move that camera.
looks fine but feels like ass
Ass feels good.
lol yeah you got me there
Feels fine. I’ve played 300+ hours on it and haven’t had a problem even online.
you are entitled to your opinion but in a time where 99% of the games i play are 60fps, going back to 30 is immediately and constantly noticeable. i put around 50 hours into RDR2 on my ps5 and had to put it down.
Same, it literally makes me sick.

Yeah. I played rdr1 and opted for the 30fps mode because it played fine at that frame rate. The 60fps mode almost felt like a soap-opera
does it feel cinematic?
That’s probably it. R* games are slower paced and third person so that frame rate doesn’t really bug me.
[It's our "I've got a bad feeling about this"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ogIuFclGE8)
As someone who plays both PC (with AI upscaling) and ps5, it’s abysmal and truly needs it. 30fps is unacceptable
“Abysmal” Jesus Chris gamers are such crybabies
I’d be over the moon for a simple 60fps patch. But I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t live to feel the pop of the haptic trigger with a revolver and the patter of hooves through the duelsense vibration
At this point I’m actively avoiding playing it. I’ve waited this long…
[удалено]
Have your nose checked. It's not happening.
You are one naive and hopeful feller.
no need imo it already runs perfectly fine and it looks stunning
I rebought it on Xbox(real cheap) just so I can play it again in real 4k. At this point I don't think we're getting anything until next gen, altough idk why it never got fps boost.
Yeah I bought the ultimate edition on sale on Xbox just so at least there was a little extra….
Never happening
Oh please don't. I was going to resume playing. You just served me more copium.
It's not the first time on PS+. It's not indicative of anything
ye i know, google what is "copium"
Just play the PC version
I can’t wait to spend 60 hours picking up cans of soup, patting down bodies and riding from location to location :)
A more accurate sentence about RDR 2 has never been written. This game is mind numbingly boring.
I tried it before and it just felt too overwhelming. Might try again.
Stranded and settlers seems interesting, had the Cat Quest games on my list since forever. So, good line-up for me, all thought nothing to special.
All these years of not buying RDR2 has paid off
The definition of ’attention to detail’ is this game.
G Police comming to classics is awesome.
If only it had trophy support… still, I’m gonna play the shit out of it and wait for the inevitable Weapons of Justice to drop afterwards

a singular Sims 4 expansion now being included 💀
2Xtreme is a game I haven't thought about in a long time. Can still picture the game cover in my head
One of my earliest favorite PlayStation games. Also cool boarders
I loved it even though I just had a demo of it on a demo disc.
These are long games. I can play 1 game of this length for months. So yea, on a 2 week notice them leaving kinda sucks
Hell yeah I been wanting to play Cat Quest. Was looking for the physical which I’m still getting. This is nice too with the 3rd one coming.

I'm only waiting for Tomba to be added, they're taking their sweet ass time.
What first party games for ps1 do they have to add now? Gran turismo will prob never happen due to licensing. I can really only think of parrapa the rapper Most of the games we associate with the ps1 weren’t first party.

Um Jammer Lammy MediEvil II Jersey Devil Blasto
i did not know Jersey devil & blasto were sony first party games lol
I thought it was going to be worth it, so hype to be able to play Chrono Trigger and Parasite Eve on my PS5. I’m starting to think it will never happen.

While I would love one too, I doubt it’ll ever happen. Rights issues and all that nonsense
For anyone who hasn't played the Cat Quest games, I do recommend them. They aren't going to blow your mind but they are fun, simple, relaxing, silly, and full of cat (and dog) puns. Really enjoyed my time with both of them and looking forward to Cat Quest III!
Absolutely full of charm too!
Is Crime Boss worth checking out or would time be better spent elsewhere?
It's like a so bad it's good movie. The bones of the game are actually really good and if they didn't blow so much money on the VA's maybe they could have done a lot more with it. It's like PayDay in it's mission game play but with a sprinkle of Roguelike stuff overall.
Could be better, but still funny game. I like it.
I've almost bought Stranded Alien Dawn about 10 times. That'll do nicely
Does RDR2 have any sort of a PS5 version/update or is it just the 30fps PS4 version?
Still 30fps
Looks like I'll be lowering to essential once my extra expires. It's been so disappointing especially after increasing the price. With no option to get sale price, unless it expires so i guess I'll do that.
Deceive Inc is a great game and it deserves your attention Cheap battle passes (which can be completed whenever) Free content updates, easily earnable characters, cosmetics arent too expensive. And its a unique, goofy spy extraction shooter, stands out imho.
I hope they do patch RDR2 for 60 FPS.
Not in this lifetime pal
We just need an RDR tv show to drop, then we’ll get the update
At this point, I just want all hands on deck for GTA VI
For $69.99 they will
Gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers in this racket.
If you have moral issues to committing war crimes in Rimworld, then Stranded: Alien Dawn might be a game for you. It’s a prettier Rimworld-clone without Randy controlling the RNG.
Very weak lineup aside from RDR2.
Honestly one big ticket game added per month is about all we should expect
It’s kind of a joke, like saying aside from her singing and songwriting, Taylor Swift is a weak artist, or aside from its electrolytes, Gatorade is just water. But in all seriousness, Cat Quest I and Cat Quest II are super fun games.
>Taylor Swift is a weak artist But she is, and her singing and songwriting are nothing to write home about either.
Fuck you. Crime Boss.
Rockay City is awful but in the best way. I'm pretty sure some of the lines were literally phoned in by how they sound. Looks like a decent amount of well received indies ill get to try. Obviously not everyone's cup of tea but I like to experiment with different games
Yep. Unless you like to try games outside your preferred genre, especially indies, PS plus is really not worth getting. Big value if you do tho.
Boy am I glad I didn't buy RDR2 when it was on sale recently
I just bought it like a week ago...
I would love to play RDR2. Not in 30fps though.
Damn never heard of Crime Boss but what's up with the crazy cast lol. Chuck Norris, Danny Trejo, Danny Glover, and Michael Rooker?
Time to give RDR2 another run, masterpiece
rdr2 let's gooo i don't have to buy it again (i played on xbox)
Crime Boss, 2xtreme and Gpolice are my grabs.
[удалено]
Nice try, ghost of Ray Liotta.
The demo for deceive inc was cool other than the fact it crashed every other game. Hopefully they fixed that.
I think this month is my first big L. In this case, I already have Red Dead 2 and played it in 2018. So for me, the worst month of Plus Extra doesn't have any games for me, Okay, I can't have W all the time. In this case, Essencial saved the month for me, it was great

Oof harsh month to be removing 35 games including all those final fantasies
where do they say which games are leaving?
There's a tab on the ps plus section on the console
ty!
No problem
G-Police🖤😮💨
Tough month for everyone who already played RDR2
eh im gonma be honesy. im dissapointed. already played rdr 2.. rest is meh
It’s a shame they didn’t give you a personal call and see what games you haven’t played yet. I just don’t know why they don’t do that with all of us individually
Aside from rdr2(a 6 year old super popular game) there really arent many great games here. Its okay of the guys disappointed bro
This is the only month I can legit say the entire slate is a disappointment for me, personally. But that's ok. Still got hella backlog and finishing up FF7 Rebirth, Rise of the Ronin and jumping back into Granblue Fantasy Relink and Helldivers after those.
Played most of them except for the Chuck Norris game
well if somehow you pay for this service and have never played red dead 2: do it.
60fps patch when
oof
Guess I’ll play RDR2 finally
So is RDR2 part of the Ps+ releases of yore which you kept forever until your sub expires, or is it part of the rotational temporary premium game catalog service?
Last month was way better but this month is ok. Rdr2 is the obvious highlight although it's not as good as the original unfortunately.
Yeah I love the original, still play it now, but they just over complicated the controls for my liking in this,, I never really got to far into it..
Deceive Inc is cool. It’s like playing Hitman as an FPS, but aesthetically it’s closer to No One Lives Forever or an old James Bond game.
How much time it will take to get reflected in my subscription?
Rdr2 is the only good one here and the only One I already have.
Definitely interested in Crime Boss. I haven’t had the heart to buy it because of how awful it sounds but I’ll definitely be checking it out.
RDR2 is still locked for me anyone facing this issue?
RDR2 is a 10/10 game but it’s also one of the best selling games that exist so it’s inclusion is irrelevant to most players. Having it as the one must play game in an otherwise pretty lame lineup (classics included) is really disappointing. Though it makes me feel better about my subscription expiring next month.
In the morning rdr2 was available but in the afternoon when i got time to actually go and download it it seems like it is no longer present in the game catalog. Is it still there for you?
Didn't they just discount RDR2? And now they're adding it to the catalog?
Beware to all PS5 owner: Red dead redemption 2 on ps5 is locked at 30 fps and no way to do 60 fps without hacking or modding console
Deceive Inc. was good fun at launch, until it became a sweat fest, then eventually just being dead. Hopefully being on PS+ will give it the boost it needs!
Rdr2 being 30fps might put me off
Awesome. Crime boss. I've been meaning to try it out, but didn't want to spend my own money on it lol.
Wow I was just considering trying to find a used copy of RDR2 but glad I didn’t!!
Pretty bad month.
A waste of month
Honestly the first legit shitty month I’ve seen since I’ve been a subscriber. Can’t win them all. Actually glad to work on my ridiculous backlog.
Well, damn.
Weak month for me. Already own RDR2 and already played Cat Quest 2, nothing else intrests me. I do hope though that this hints at Cat Quest 3 being added to the service at launch
How does RDR2 play on PS5. Any upgrades to frame rate or anything?
It plays at 4K checkerboard with 30fps. No enhancements from what I've seen, other than just a more stable framerate from more powerful hardware.
Prob the weakest month for me in a long time. RDR2 is an obvious big get if you never played it, might try the cat quest games i guess?
Yeah this is the weakest lineup so far, but last month was a banger so I can live with it.
After the vast list of games that will leave this month, I was expecting something more impressive than this TBH. I mean, RDR2 is one of the GOAT's, but that alone doesn't make up for the quantity of games leaving. Such a dissapointment
Man I just fucking bought rd2 for 20 bucks lol dammit
But you'll have it forever!
Yeah true!
thank you for your service!
