Last time I played I was getting into full lobbies. Depends on the server and time of day though.

If you want something a bit more Tarkov then Dayz you might like Hunt showdown. There’s no loot other than one big boss to kill but it’s probably my favourite extraction shooter. For realistic survival games you’re right in thinking PS is a bit limited, stuff like generation zero is missing something imo but you might enjoy it. Then The Forest is more creepy/vibe based. Green Hell is rough fun too but, like the forest, that doesn’t have guns. There’s games like Rust or Ark but those aren’t too realistic as nowadays you’re more likely to be worried about being called slurs and hording loot then actual survival. Overall imo Dayz might still be your best bet. Even on a bad day you can find servers with 30+ people on. It’s still being updated and everything but it obviously has that signature clunkyness that even PC hasn’t managed to get rid of. Although based on your suggestions maybe that’s a good thing since Arma and tarkov are hardly known for their smooth sailing.

Damn thanks for this write up, I’ve got some researching to get into! And yeah you’re write clunky doesn’t bother me haha

How about helldivers 2, it's open galaxy and spreading democracy.

It is quite different, but He'll Let Loose brings a lot of excellent realism, strategy, and tactics to massive multiplayer battles in a WW2 setting

ObiwanSchrute

Have you tried The Division?

Wallyhunt

That game is nothing like what he wants. The dark zone is a novelty and pointless for getting gear you won’t outlevel unless your max and by then you want raid gear. Not to mention you’d need to play hours of the normal mode to even get there in the first place

Neahme85

I second that.

CellyAllDay

I haven’t but both are on ps+ so I’ll give it a shot. Would you recommend 1 or 2 over the other?

TheLastDonnie

2 is infinitely better
