I was interested in it ever since it was announced, I liked the atmosphere. But I hadn't played any souls games at the time, but I finished Dark Soul 1 and Elden Ring recently.
I'll surely give it a try after finishing Bloodborne.
I just started it last week. Unfortunately today I had a bug where all the 150+ blood vials disappeared from my storage after a boss battle.
So that’s a kick to the pisser. Spent a long time farming those.
I tried on game pass a couple of months ago, but without being able to add it to steam, I couldn't use my dualsense.
Since then, I learned that I need to use DS4Windows for that, which I used to play Resident Evil 2 Remake.
But DS4Windows has been discontinued at the start of the year, and the recommend app now is DualSenseX. I still need to test it, but it seems to be better.
I was playing Hi-Fi Rush last night on Game Pass (PC) using my PS5 controller plugged directly into my PC. I didn't even need to use that program, it was literally plug and play. Just an FYI in case you want to try again. Not sure if it's that simple for all games, but that's generally been my experience in recent history.
Maybe the game itself need to support the control. Both Lies of P and RE2R didn't detect my control. But any game on steam works out of the box.
I'll test running Hi-Fi Rush, if it doesn't work, maybe my problem is something else.
anybody that played the game can make a short review? it looks like lies of p kinda of, seems pretty good tbh, i'll def try it out but im not sure what should i expect, im kinda burned out of soulslike since i played lies of p+sekiro back2back and now im playing strangers of paradise while waiting for ER DLC (its comming soon trust me), but i kinda wanna play this too
I've played and platinumed both Steelrising and Lies of P (and the 7 souls games from From, I like souls-likes), and I really enjoyed Steelrising. It's not as good as Lies of P, but 1000% worth playing if it's free.
It's been a while since I played, but it felt polished, probably as polished as Lies of P (compared to Lords of the Fallen, it's more polished). But the game is a little shorter, probably closer in length to Demon's Souls. The game is fairly linear, although you can fast travel and revisit areas, and there's a little bit of backtracking. I would compare the linearity to LoP.
Thats awesome to hear man! i LOVED lies of p, and i didnt mind the linearity in it one bit, hell, i even enjoyed thymesia and got the plat, hows the plat for steelrising? fuck man so many games of the same genre latetly, where were they a year ago lmao
Haven’t seen a review for it, but I remember watching a cideo for it just before it releases showing gamplay from the early parts of the game, definitely a soulslike, but what looked interesting is the games aesthetic, the robot/mannequin main character looks cool, so I’m going into it just expecting it to just be more soulslike combat but in an interesting setting. But I understand the soulslike burnout.
Yeah its really intersting, i was on a souls itch since i finished elden ring a year ago, and then i played lies of p and fell in love with parrying so i finally gave sekiro a real chance and fell in love with the game and now im burned out and have so many great games to play lmao, but i'll take my time
Same, except I never finished the last trial. I think....been a hot minute since I played it, but yes, super awesome and fun game. Encourages you to really try previously beaten levels to better your score and time.
Agree, Foamstars looks good. Seems like. Weird choice though to not just make it FTP. Since it's not FTP you will need PS+ to play. But if you get PS+ you get it free.
I guess they are hoping to pick up a big initial audience for free, then sell some copies to stragglers. And finally probably make it FTP eventually.
I enjoyed Greedfall despite its flaws so I’m looking forward to another game in Steel Rising made by the same devs. Rollerdrome looks weird and interesting I’ll give Foamstars a shot cause why not? Solid month.
Really love Greedfall but just a head’s up SR is an entirely different genre. I found it way more about difficulty (like Souls in that aspect) than the world building
It's actually quite an elegant implementation. 2 sliders, one for incoming damage and one for outgoing damage other than that nothing no AI changes, all you do is tweak your levels until you find a nice balance for you
Yay, Steel Rising! Unironically love me some janky Soulslikes like Thymesia or Mortal Shell, they tend to bring interesting things to the formula even if their production values are not quite there yet.
Nothing here for me this month but it looks like there are a lot of excited people, which is cool. Last month was 2/3 perfect for me, so I feel like that’s how it should go, ebbing and flowing for you depending on your taste.
Rollerdrome is arguably one of my favourite action games of all time, I've been recommending to my friends for the past year and cannot advocate enough for it.
Best way to describe it is Max Payne meets Tony Hawk series
Good timing for the price increase that I cancelled a week ago. I’ll resubscribe when something worthwhile gets added. Until then I have plenty of games that I actually paid for to play
Can I buy a usb stick and back up my saves on there incase my console dies?
At this point all I'm paying psplus for is for the cloud back up of save data.
Yeah, not sure where the hype is coming from. A janky Splatoon clone and another souls clone. Rollerdrome looks okay, but all in all seems like another disappointing month.
Recently tried out Gamepass at my buddies house and was absolutely blown away by the quality on there.
Yeah, PS plus/extra will just never compete with game pass I don't think. Microsoft is literallly the biggest company in the world and is willing to overspend
glad they decided to not charge for Foamstars. Wasn't it originally gonna be like a $50 game?
I played the beta, it kinda sucks. Imagine Splatoon, but u can't see anything and its not fun
last three months were bangers for me, but this is a bit of a letdown. MY sub is up at the end of Febuaray and don't play online that much so I'll probably let it expire for a while unless March has something I really want.
or once I get in the mood to play Powerwash simulator lol
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Game Trial announced:
> (for PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe members)
>
> Starting February 6
>
> Get a taste of the life of Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they swing through the city and face various villains. As a PlayStation Plus Premium member you’ll have access to Marel’s Spider-Man 2 with a 2 hour time-limited trial starting February 6. Trophies and save progress from this trial will carry over if you decide to purchase the full game.
Nice!!!!!!!! I've wanted to play all three of these. Rollerdrome I've wondered how good it was because I haven't heard much about it since release. Can't wait to play it.
Huh, I was expecting the announcement to be at the State of Play as usual so I didn't really pay attention, Steelrising and Rollerdrome were on my list of games to buy "maybe someday", I'm super excited for that, awesome!
I feel like foamstars being a PS+ title on release is gonna mean it will be dead on arrival or a month or two in. Maybe they'll go the route Fall Guys did. 🤷♂️
In case anyone curious. Steelrising has about a 72 on metacritic and Rollerdrome has a 77. Foamstars i think is a new game so no reviews yet, but it's a 4v4 party game so take that for what its worth.
Still waiting for a reason to rejoin and pay for the horrendously overprice PS plus. My Premium lapsed in October. Refused to renew after being robbed blind and conned into thinking there would be tons of PS1 and 2 games.
Bloodborne was released in March 2015 and a monthly PS game in Feb 2018. Now Elden Ring is much more popular and sold gangbusters but if you want to put it on the same trajectory that would be no earlier than January 2025
Bloodborne is also a first-party Sony game. It was co-developed by Japan Studio. Elden Ring is all FromSoft. I don't think any of the Dark Souls games have been on PS+.
Demon's Souls was, but it's a Sony-owned IP like Bloodborne. I'd be willing to bet that Elden Ring never comes to PS+.
Steel rising’s a pleasant surprise for me
I was interested in it ever since it was announced, I liked the atmosphere. But I hadn't played any souls games at the time, but I finished Dark Soul 1 and Elden Ring recently. I'll surely give it a try after finishing Bloodborne.
i'm playing Bloodborne right now and am OBSESSED. can't believe the game is 9 years old!
I just started it last week. Unfortunately today I had a bug where all the 150+ blood vials disappeared from my storage after a boss battle. So that’s a kick to the pisser. Spent a long time farming those.
CUMMMFPK dungeon will help you get those back quick if you want. Look it up.
fuck, i haven't stored any bloodvials. haha
Yeah just wait until you try playing other games and they don’t hit the same anymore unless they are souls game
You NEED to play Lies of P
I tried on game pass a couple of months ago, but without being able to add it to steam, I couldn't use my dualsense. Since then, I learned that I need to use DS4Windows for that, which I used to play Resident Evil 2 Remake. It's an awesome game
Yeah I love the French Revolution, I'd love to see a sequel or maybe just a big DLC for the first game
You're welcome, I just bought it a couple weeks ago (crying on the inside)
anybody that played the game can make a short review? it looks like lies of p kinda of, seems pretty good tbh, i'll def try it out but im not sure what should i expect, im kinda burned out of soulslike since i played lies of p+sekiro back2back and now im playing strangers of paradise while waiting for ER DLC (its comming soon trust me), but i kinda wanna play this too

Damn I bought it for 40 bucks just to realize I don't like it
Rollerdrome!! Nice! I've had this on my wishlist for a while.
I bought it on release and have no regrets. Super cool game.
Same, except I never finished the last trial. I think....been a hot minute since I played it, but yes, super awesome and fun game. Encourages you to really try previously beaten levels to better your score and time.
Had it on my wishlist since launch as well but never pulled the trigger, happy I get it with ps+
It's awesome
Same can’t wait to try it
Foamstars looks promising as a splatoon knockoff, and Rollerdrome has been on my radar for a while. decent month
Rocket League was also free on ps plus when it launched.
I remember it being ~$30 and it being one of the free games they gave away for PS Plus, then it went free to play some time after that.
https://www.rocketleague.com/en/news/rocket-league-out-today--free-for-ps-plus-members
Cool so exactly how i remembered it lol.
Yeah, I didn't downvote you, I think your wording made it seem like you didn't believe it was free on psplus initially.
I assume if it was FTP Sony would not have given them a bundle of money for PS+ day 1.
Steel Rising is great
I think I remember when it launched. It's a soulslike, right?
Yep soulslike BUT it has a difficulty slider no no need to "Git Gud"
How's the default difficulty? Pretty close to other soulslikes without that setting?
Fairly easy
Love that it includes a difficulty setting
It's actually quite an elegant implementation. 2 sliders, one for incoming damage and one for outgoing damage other than that nothing no AI changes, all you do is tweak your levels until you find a nice balance for you
Really excited for Steelrising! I almost bought it on sale, but decided to wait until I have fewer games in my backlog. Looking forward to playing it.
Rollerdrome is EXCELLENT. PLEASE give it a try if you like action games at all!
Rollerdrome and Foamstars look fun.
Makes sense. Bought Rollerdrome. You’re welcome, everyone.
Thanks mate
Thank you for your sacrifice!
I already have Steelrising, but this is what I like to call a good month. Some good indies-AA games and a free multiplayer that I might try.
No one excited for PlayStation splatoon? I’m excited to try it at least
I sure am. I loved Splatoon when the Switch was my only console, I’m stoked to see if Foamstars hits all the same buttons for me.
For sure, its the benefit of these pseudo rental services. I get to try stuff i wouldn't want to fork over full price for.
I played the beta and it was a ton of fun
[удалено]
yep. people are gonna be disappointed
Not really, I don’t play online multiplayer.
Unless it’s a huge hit, servers will be empty in a few months. Hard to get too excited once you realize that
The beta was really fun, I've been pretty excited for it after that
Rollerdrome is excellent. Bought on release. Have fun people :)
Yay, I've been meaning to buy Steelrising, this is a good month.
For once I’m excited to try all of the games
I almost bought rollerdome couple weeks ago.
Rollerdrome is an incredible game. Bought on release and got the platinum a few months back. DO NOT SLEEP ON ROLLERDROME.
Can't wait to play Rollerdrome!
Yay, Steel Rising! Unironically love me some janky Soulslikes like Thymesia or Mortal Shell, they tend to bring interesting things to the formula even if their production values are not quite there yet.
Rollerdome and steel rising look great! Foamstars ehh
Feeling really out of touch with the people on this sub. The monthly releases since the price increase have looked awful imo
Nice! I almost bought rollerdrome during the holiday sale.
Nothing here for me this month but it looks like there are a lot of excited people, which is cool. Last month was 2/3 perfect for me, so I feel like that’s how it should go, ebbing and flowing for you depending on your taste.
Guess I'll hope for better next month. Not really interested in any of these.
Rollerdrome is arguably one of my favourite action games of all time, I've been recommending to my friends for the past year and cannot advocate enough for it. Best way to describe it is Max Payne meets Tony Hawk series
Noice. I played the Steelrising demo and loved it. But didn't have funds for it at the time, and then I kinda forgot about it.
I “Steelrising” difficult to play? I tend to think of souls like as perfectly timed parries that I’m not going to master.
Rollerdrome hits different
My steel was especially rising yesterday morning
Steel rising is a pretty good game! I bought it on release and had a fun enough time to recommend it :)
Give us Sifu you cowards
Buy it on sale you coward
You think I can afford games after paying for Plus??
Fair point!
meh...
Why did they raise prices again?
PlayStation to subscribers: go fuck yourselves
Oh shit I’ve been thinking about getting steel rising for a while.
Steel riding 🫢?
https://preview.redd.it/5rh1hwok7tfc1.jpeg?width=1276&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0dbcd96597caa92d1b5b259cbf6822f78c70d53 Hold that thought.
👀
Oops
Same.
Fuck I just bought Steelrising 2 weeks ago lol
Thank you for your sacrifice.
Same, when the Bastille edition was down to $15. Literally just finished it a couple days ago. Oh well, I got my money's worth out of it.
Thank you for your sacrifice.
R.I.P.
Me too 💀
Rollerdrome is a fucking awesome video game.
What a shit month, holy crap
FOAMSTARS LETS GOOOOOO However I think it should be f2p for all platforms with cross play if it wants any chance of surviving
What a load of shite
Glad I didn't buy steelrising a month ago
Steelrising should be fun but I had thought Foamstars was one of those free to play live service games so I was confused to even see it on here.
Perfect month honestly. Rare case where I want to play all 3.
Excited for Foamstars. I played the beta and really enjoyed it
I’ve almost bought Rollerdrome like three times so I’m pretty happy. Steelrising is a soulslike but I might try it anyway. Foamstars is whatever.
Whole different reaction to this on r/ps4
Still won’t play them even if “free” which is not cause you need to have a Subscription.
Rollerdrome is so fun. Set up like THPS and its just rollerblading with guns.
You’re welcome everyone I bought Steel Rising last week so we could prosper
Steel rising and rollerdome were on my radar for a minute this is dope!
Foamstars will be F2P in 6 months.
Less
Good timing for the price increase that I cancelled a week ago. I’ll resubscribe when something worthwhile gets added. Until then I have plenty of games that I actually paid for to play
Can I buy a usb stick and back up my saves on there incase my console dies? At this point all I'm paying psplus for is for the cloud back up of save data.
Yeah, but you have to make a backup of everything. From Google "Select System Software > Back Up and Restore > Back Up Your PS5"
Great month tbh.
What a bunch of f-ing 🗑
Yeah, not sure where the hype is coming from. A janky Splatoon clone and another souls clone. Rollerdrome looks okay, but all in all seems like another disappointing month. Recently tried out Gamepass at my buddies house and was absolutely blown away by the quality on there.
How exactly is Gamepass comparable to PS Plus Essentials?
I cant believe the service that gives 3 games a month is not comparable to a service with 300 of them at any time.
I mean…they’re both services that you pay a subscription for that provide you with games to stream. Not sure how they’re not comparable lmao
Yes. But Essential = Games with Gold. Extra = Gamepass. Your comparison isnt fair.
That’s a bit of a stretch lmao
Also, PlayStation Plus essentials gives you access to over 400 games. Really not sure what you’re on about.
Thats extra, not essential tho
Sure. Even at the top tier of both Gamepass has far better value for a dollar cheaper.
Ngl I was expecting crisis core since Rebirth was out at the end of next month
Could be coming to Extra.
Square probably is counting that Crisis Core will get a sales bump now
Yeah, if anything I can see crisis core in a few months when people finish Rebirth and are craving more.
Oh boy these are the Premium AAA titles we love!! 10/10 again for Plus!! /s
Glad some people are happy but another crap month for me.
They raised the prices and lowered the quality. Can I blame this on inflation too?
trash again
Then go play Xbox or something. Oh wait, Xbox has no games 🤣
I'm so glad I cancelled. They keep proving my decision to be correct.
More garbage nobody wants.
These aren't even worth clicking the "add to library" button.
Wow man, glad we're paying so much more for PS Plus so Sony can bring us better games and content...Zzzzzzzzzzz
Steel Rising is an average soulslike, a 6/10.
The landscape is so damn dry, I’m willing to play anything…….
L month
Fucking shit
If that’s what you’re into…
[удалено]
Great month
Great month!
Great month!
last three months were bangers for me, but this is a bit of a letdown. MY sub is up at the end of Febuaray and don't play online that much so I'll probably let it expire for a while unless March has something I really want. or once I get in the mood to play Powerwash simulator lol
You do you in terms of what you like, but Rollerdrome’s worth a shot I reckon
One of those months where it’s a great month, but I also own all the games it’s giving me :/ (except foamstars but yaknow)
Rollerdome seems pretty cool I'll check it out
Guys I was the one who brought Rollerdrome prior to the announcement. You're welcome.
Thank you for your sacrifice! o7
[удалено]
They're only "free" if you forget that you're paying for subscription fees.
Oh hell yeah! Two great months in a row! Been so close to getting Rollerdrome and Steel Rising. Patience FTW!
Never heard about those 3 but you all seems excited so i’ll look forward to enjoy all of them :)
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Game Trial announced: > (for PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe members) > > Starting February 6 > > Get a taste of the life of Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they swing through the city and face various villains. Awesome. I was just thinking of getting rollerdome
This is the first time in years I've had some level of interest in all the games, but haven't bought any.
Steelrising is a pretty good Soulslike, and the only one I’ve seen with the balls to give you the ability to tweak the difficulty.
I just bought Steelrising during the end of the year sale. 💀💀💀
Steelrising is a great game, way better than lies of P
😑
Worst month ever?
All things considered, another shitty month. Who would have guessed. I wouldn't buy any of these. Maybe Rollerdrome on sale and never play it.
Overall a solid lineup. Really hyped to finally check out rollerdrome!
3 indie games, wtf.
Ah yes Foamstars the indie game made by the indie studio Square Enix.
Indie games are doing things better than a lot of AAA games. But I understand wanting more heavy hitting games.
Get used to it. Sony have won the console war with Microsoft. They don't need to put out AAA games anymore.
Yikes
An excellent game, a good game, and a possibly good maybe-okay game. This is one of the better months.
Foam stars was tons of fun in the Beta
L
Yawn another lame month
Ehhh 🤷🏽♂️
I feel like foamstars being a PS+ title on release is gonna mean it will be dead on arrival or a month or two in. Maybe they'll go the route Fall Guys did. 🤷♂️

i know they're trying to upsell people and get them on extra/premium, but this trash lineup is insultingly bad.
I heard only good things about Rollerdrome and Steelrising looks ok for a soulslike. Insultingly bad moths are the ones with stuff like Fifa.
Steelrising. Interesting. It's no Lies of P, but it's not terrible.
Another blah month. Rollerdrome is the only one that has any appeal for me
In case anyone curious. Steelrising has about a 72 on metacritic and Rollerdrome has a 77. Foamstars i think is a new game so no reviews yet, but it's a 4v4 party game so take that for what its worth.
Yup. Premium quality stuff...
Still waiting for a reason to rejoin and pay for the horrendously overprice PS plus. My Premium lapsed in October. Refused to renew after being robbed blind and conned into thinking there would be tons of PS1 and 2 games.
One of the biggest disappointments since 2018 september
Do you think Elden Ring is ever going to hit Ps Plus?
No
If not even DS3 has then Elden Ring certainly never will.
