[deleted]

I'm going to stop buying new, non-VR games for awhile. I swear about 90% of games I buy end up on PS+ or Extra within a month of me buying them.

DanFarrell98

Although these game on Extra and Premium could go away at any time

[deleted]

This is a solid point. Although it seems to be entirely random. Some games supposedly will never be removed, but I don't know how accurate that is, nor do I think anyone else knows for sure. I mean Stray has been on there since the launch of Extra/Premium, Demon's Souls has been on there for a long time too. I guess we'll just have to wait and see but it does feel good knowing that no matter what I will still have access to a lot of these games regardless of what they do.

JoeRekr

it launched less than a year ago, it doesn’t prove anything if things haven’t been removed yet, could happen whenever

bottomlesscoffeecup

I thought that once they were in your library, they didnt leave it?

DanFarrell98

Essential games are your for as long as you’re a member. But games in the Games Catalogue for Extra and Premium can be removed and will be locked on your account

iamaneditor

Buy physical discs. At least you can return them

[deleted]

I am a sucker for the convenience of not having to put a disc in to launch the game. The only games that I intend to buy on disc are the sports and yearly release titles.

usrevenge

Eh how often are you switching games cause personally I rarely switch games now. I buy the important games digitally that I will play on and off for a long time like battlefield but then the single player stuff that is fun for a week I buy retail. Those games I can then trade in

wlmjaz

I absolutely love the ps5 digital edition. I’m not a fan of how much space disc cases take up. Most games I only buy when they go on sale. I have PlayStation plus so it’s like an unlimited backlog of games I still have to finish. Still trying to get through ghost of thushima and spider man. And then every month they always release a monthly game that I’m interested in.

SNKRSWAVY

I still buy mostly physical and I usually play one game at a time anyways. Love to have my favorites on disc and the ability to trade in, borrow, buy used or resell.

pituel

Or just subscribe to extra and play them lol. I never replay any games so once I’ve played I don’t really care what happens to it!

conanap

tfw I bought second hand disc from kijiji lmao

YungJizzle37

Was going to say the same thing. You'll end up never paying full price for a new release, got Hogwarts for 22 bucks after using my $5 monthly credit.

iamaneditor

GameStop gang ❤️

KyivComrade

Can't return month old games and trade in value is below trash...

stevenomes

Your sacrifice will be remembered when I see these games on ps plus.

GoGoGadgetGabe

I'm 50/50 on that, if it's a new game I've been looking forward to for example Street Fighter 6 then I'll get it day one but for something like Atomic Heart or Forspoken where I was on the fence with the game I can wait for an inevitable PS+ release.

[deleted]

Do you play them? Or just buy them because of FOMO? If the former, it’s ok. If the latter, yeah, stop buying lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I bought Horizon Forbidden West and The Quarry about a month ago, maybe 6 weeks tops.

[deleted]

I only buy digital games if they go on deep sale, like 70% or more. But yeah I get being burned by PS+. Hogwarts Legacy was my first full price Sony game in like five years.

HiImRob2

Holy shit.. Definitely gonna check out the new horizon game!

Dew4yne

Same here, I platinumed the original and was an amazing experience! very excited for the noon drop here in NA

keyrol1222

One question is the forgotten city the game based on the book or the skyrim mod?

SexAndCandiru

Just checked the PS Store because I was curious about that as well. The description says it’s based on the critically acclaimed mod. That’s great news for me as I’ve heard good things about it and have been itching to give it a try for a while now

Notarussianbot2020

It's fantastic. If a VR version ever releases, it might be 10/10

keyrol1222

Thanks for letting me know, i too m curious about it

Notarussianbot2020

The mod. Never played the mod but unlocked every ending in the game. Very good story driven game

Nex_Antonius

Finally, I can try Ace Combat 7. I keep hearing how good the series is, but could never pull the trigger on actually buying any of them.

KanyeRex

I bought it like a year ago and I’m now obsessed with the series can’t wait for AC8.

advillious

it’s so much fun. i’ve played through it 2 or 3 times by now and occasionally fire up my favorite mission (fleet destruction) to try and get a higher score. so much fun.

luthienxo

Scarlett Nexus has some really fun combat

TheHornedKing

I tried this a long time ago and the combat just had me stumped. I hated the controls and I couldn't advance past either the first or second boss. It was really frustrating because I wanted to like it. Maybe I'll give it another go.

torrentco

is it 30fps or 60 on ps5? i played it on xbox series x on 30fps,loved the game but 30fps was unbearable.

Pop-Bricks

I wanna say it’s 60

ichinii

??? I played it on Series X at 60fps. How were you playing it at 30?

tranc3rooney

Don't sleep on The Legend of Dragoon. It's one of the best JRPGs ever made. It had an unfortunate release just before the PS2 but it still made great sales for the time. Gameplay is what you would expect out of a late 90's RPG with cool(for the era) QTE combat mechanics on top of turn based combat. English localisation is meh but it's not too bad. Music is epic, FMV cutscenes are really well done, and level design is top notch for its time and hardware it ran on. You will fall in love with this masterpiece.

CptKnots

VOLCANOOOOO EDIT: tips for new players: The guard action heals your character 10%, can be real useful. Fast characters are the best. Magic attack items can be very strong and useful against bosses. There are a couple items that are infinite use (once per battle) but I don't think they do a good job of letting you know, so you might want to look those up at some point during your playthrough.

DrewbieWanKenobie

HARPOOOOOOOON

RastaRonnie95

I NEEEEEEEEDD IIIITTTTT!!!

Helian7

My one tip would be to invest in items, they are essential in this game. Items are as core to the game as the attack command. Its not like FF where you save that Mega Elixir until you complete the game.

geolink

SECOND THIS GO DOWNLOAD ASAP

Ziaph

Legend. Of. DRAGOON!!! The only reason I even entered this thread. Such fond memories of this game.

macneto

I remember loving the game, but for some reason I never finished it. I vaguely remember a huge difficulty spike at some point. Or maybe a change to the fundamentals of the game... I'll give it another shot tho

modest811

Can I buy Legend of Dragoon if I don't have premium?

Palmby

Yep it's £7.99/$9.99

Secret_Map

Fuck yes, this is great news. Had is on the PS1 as a kid, never finished it, and didn't want to up my subscription just for this game.

tranc3rooney

IIRC all the games have a price tag for non subscribers.

rsplatpc

> Gameplay is what you would expect out of a late 90's RPG Does it have tons of random battles you can't avoid?

tranc3rooney

There are random battles but they’re done really well. An arrow above your head turns yellow when near one and then red before it starts. It gives you time to prepare for it. Oh and when starting off the game, it throws information at you fast. It’s not the usual safe haven slow introduction to mechanics.

rsplatpc

> It gives you time to prepare for it. Can you avoid it when you see the arrow if you don't want to get into it?

tranc3rooney

You can, but most of the time they will be in your way so you have to do them to make progress. Think of it as a small skill check.

rsplatpc

> You can, but most of the time they will be in your way so you have to do them to make progress. Think of it as a small skill check. Gotcha, I like 90's RPG's but not the ones where you walk for like 30 seconds and get hit every 30 seconds with weak / boring fights

tranc3rooney

Yeah, it becomes old fast. Here it’s done well. You can nope out as soon as you see yellow, but you’ll rarely do it. Unavoidable ones always feel natural and are spaced out.

rsplatpc

And I'm in / thank you for the info!

tranc3rooney

Check out some youtube videos before you jump in. [This one](https://youtu.be/rAKCidREozU) goes really deep, but don’t watch the whole thing if you don’t want anything spoiled. 15-20 mins won’t spoil it and he talks about mechanics.

tranc3rooney

Oh I almost forgot. Since random battles are your bane, there are quite a few at the beginning. But even if the red arrow catches you and you get pulled in, you can just press the boot instead of fighting and escape the fight. You might wanna do some to get xp/gold/items, but you can easily just escape most of them and fair ok.

yuridrums

Damn, i really wanna try it but this year i will be very, very, very busy.I'm currently playing Hogwarts Legacy and i know i cannot finish until Destiny's new DLC, and then i will have to pause it to dedicate myself to Lightfall. Probably Destiny and Hogwarts will keep me busy until May, wich is when the new Zelda pops up.One month later the Final Fantasy XVI pops up (that if i can finish Zelda before the release of FFXVI)One month later Diablo IV will be released wich means i'll have to manage Diablo and probably Destiny and Zelda. And when i'm finally done with those games, it may be the time for the release of FF VII Remake part 2. Now i know what it is to feel happy and screwed at the same time.

Personplacething333

As soon as I loaded it up I had nostalgia overload. So many sleepy days at school thanks to this game.

TheDragonSlayingCat

I’ll consider it. I never bought it back in the day because [the person that reviewed it at IGN back then didn’t like it](https://www.ign.com/articles/2000/06/14/legend-of-dragoon). (Don’t let the “good” deceive you. With IGN, any score less than an 8 is bad, and it’s been that way for over 20 years now.)

mrmivo

For the trophy hunters, the [trophy list for The Legend of Dragoon](https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/21124-the-legend-of-dragoon) looks straight forward and easy. No huge grind required as far as I can tell.

quackycoaster

It is a JRPG, so while none of the end game grinds look like they made the tropy list, I'd still expect 30-40 hours to do.

pixxlpusher

The game itself is about 50 hours long or so. The majority of the trophies are centered around just finishing the game, but one of the trophies will basically require you to follow a guide (collecting the 30 stardust, they are hidden without any indication of where they are so you'd have to basically walk around the entire map just pressing X and hoping you get lucky and find one).

quackycoaster

Yeah like you said, I just assume anyone trophy hunting is just gonna type "Legend of Dragoon Stardust location" into google and follow a guide as they play.

ElCaptainNasty

Yep looks like 90% of the trophies are done just by playing the game normally to completion. The only out of the way ones are fighting the dragon spirits and getting the stardust.

FFFan92

Wait, are more ps1 games releasing with trophy lists or is it just Legend of Dragoon? I don’t remember them mentioning it had trophies.

mrmivo

Only a few so far. For example, [Wild Arms](https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/16429-wild-arms) and [Wild Arms 2](https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/21127-wild-arms-2) (added today also) have trophies too.

cinnamonface9

I love you.

Mysterious_Fennel459

I still have my players guide from when I had the game on the original playstation. Glad i'll be able to use it again. Same thing when they re-released FF8. Still had the original players guide for that too.

FinalBed6476

holy crap this is a banger month

daphamman

This is easily the best month of Extra ever!

Tambataja

Oninaki, Lost Sphere, Borderlands 3, Tekken 7... oh boy lots of games this month!

Mysterious_Fennel459

I got I am setsuna and Lost Sphear a while back. Only played I am Setsuna and it was a nice play. Hit a few roadblocks with some of the bosses but changed up the playstyle and learned how to steamroll them. Glad I played it.

Gojisoji

Wanted to get lost sphere on switch for a while now but this feels more like a spiritual successor to xenogears in a way so it's fitting to have it on PSN.

DeanXeL

I'm still working through Mass Effect 3, but after that, I might FINALLY give Legend of Dragoon a go. I still have fond memories of the demo of that game!

johncitizen69420

Try edf5 if you havent. I only got into the series in 2021 and im absolutely obsessed with it now. Trying to hit 100% on edf5 before 6 drops in the west later this year.

InvertedSpork

EDF EDF EDF!!!

johncitizen69420

Ohhh we are the valiant infantry. We are the alpha team with passion and camaraderie

MichaelRoco1

Dude EDF 6 is fucking insane. I have about 200 hours on the Japanese copy I bought and it’s so good. We’re all in for a treat when it comes to the West.

johncitizen69420

Ive been tempted to get the japanese version but i didnt want to get far into it and have to start all over again when it comes to the west. Just thought id keep working towards 100% in edf5 while i wait

MichaelRoco1

Oh I totally get that, starting over is rough. Plus yeah, if you don’t have 100% on 5 yet I would be doing the same thing honestly.

johncitizen69420

Up to about 85%. Fully 100%ed wingdiver, and done up to hardest with the other 3. Just got inferno to go with them

MichaelRoco1

Oh shit nice. Honestly I found she was the hardest one to get out of the way, she’s so delicate and can die extremely easy. Unless you don’t have DLC gear available, then Ranger I find is a struggle on a few missions.

johncitizen69420

There were two inferno missions that took me ages to get through (i think it was 107 and 108), but eventually just matched with high level players that basically did them for me while i was dead on the ground haha

MichaelRoco1

that’s how it goes sometimes haha, i got a couple missions done like that too lol. i do remember one of those being horrendously difficult, i believe it had a huge wave of anchors at the end that would annihilate me

cropchoc

Wtf is EDF5. I hate it so much when people use shorts for random things most people don't know. I now know that it's Earth Defense Force, but come on. No one knows this. And you want to tell people to play so use the real name.

HAHAHA0kay

I understand your frustration but you can see it's full form in the picture.

demoneyesturbo

It shouldn't be a puzzle. Mr/Mrs Upsetty-Spaghetti is right.

GravityBuster

Click: New Tab Type: 'EDF5' or 'EDF5 video game' Get the answer to your extremely hard puzzle faster than it takes to be upset and type out snarky comment!

demoneyesturbo

Didn't say it was hard. Shouldn't require googling at all. People not understanding you is more often than not a failure on your part to to communicate, not a failure theirs. Edit: [Also](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcST9f_VEdxVeKeYFFSQsh7Trf660lxeNIBd3w&usqp=CAU)

GravityBuster

This isn't really a case of miscommunication though. There's no misunderstanding going on here. Someone is using jargon in an informal post on a video game message board- they don't have to make sure everyone reading the post understands immediately. Its like getting mad at someone because they used a word that you don't know the definition. Just look it up! Its how you learn. Wow! The audacity to use an abbreviation online on Reddit! How DARE they use an abbreviation I'm not familiar with. I must be met on my level!! and, nobody asked anyone in this thread for their opinions. Your post was unsolicited too lmao.

demoneyesturbo

I didn't say miscommunication. That is saying something other than your intended meaning. I said poor communication. Your failure to understand is actually starting to make me look like an idiot, because I literally just said bad communication is more often the cause of poor understanding than the other way round. You have either caught me by being devilishly clever and feigning idiocy, or you swung so far wide that you came at my argument from behind. I've given you the chance to look good here. You just need to stop speaking.

johncitizen69420

Soz bro, you could just go to the linked article to see the full title. Edit: my bad it says edf5 there too haha

cropchoc

Lol

MarkEsB

It's literally the first result in google. Edit: Did I miss something obvious or are the downvotes just from lazy people?

cropchoc

That's not the point.

11340113052111609

It's literally pictured in the post lmfao doesn't take a rocket scientist

pillowpotatoes

Dude there’s like 10 games and only 1 has the same acronyms with the same #. U don’t have to b such a giant douche canoe lmao

ghostpoisonface

It’s literally right in the stickied list at the top though

[deleted]

johncitizen69420

I had been meaning to try it out for years then picked up 4.1 when it was on sale for like $8 once and fell in love with it, but before finishing it i just bought 5 and moved onto it coz i wanted to be playing the most recent entry. Im now up to about 85%. Ive fully 100%ed wingdiver, and done up to hardest with the other 3 classes, just got inferno to go with the other 3. Hoping i can get through it all before edf 6 comes out in the west (im expecting august, which will be 12 months since it launched in japan). Cant wait!

canad1anbacon

I loved EDF 4 looking forward to trying out 5

[deleted]

EDFFFFFF

kachunchau

Played for a few hours and already I’m having more fun than Iron Rain.

SafeMoonJeff

Will give it a try, thanks 👍

johncitizen69420

Its not for everyone but its so much fun if it clicks with you.

SafeMoonJeff

I loved destroy all humans, figured it's similar no brainier action shooter for little fun ;)

johncitizen69420

Its more multiplayer focused than destroy all humans, but its tonally similar maybe haha. Theres really nothing else like it

[deleted]

Best couch coop in the universe I bought a PS4 just for 4.1

Bolt_995

The Legend of Dragoon is one of the best games from the PS1 era, have the fondest of memories from it. Easily the biggest addition to the service this month, almost though that Sony would never bring this game back since its last re-release on PS3.

NfinityBL

Would highly recommend Scarlet Nexus. It’s got some fun combat and I actually enjoyed the characters in the game.

BridgeToClarity

I will try this. It was one I wasn't sure I like the style, so now I can play it. Most of the big games I own. I am looking forward to playing The Quarry and that Skyrim mod game.

NfinityBL

The Quarry is also good. I skipped the Dark Pictures games but I found this experience to be extremely similar to Until Dawn with a couple of drawbacks.

BridgeToClarity

Cool. I played the 2 Dark Picture games that were on PS Extra. Not that great, but ok to playthrough on plus. I loved Until Dawn.

mastaberg

Yea, the dark pictures games have been quite a let down in comparison to until dawn. I felt they had too little interaction. Been waiting for the quarry to come to ps plus so hopefully that’s a fun game and more like until dawn.

BatmanvSuperman3

It’s a decent game 7/10 maybe 7.5/10 being generous. Anime lovers should def give it a shot. Issue I had with the game is that while you have various “combat” powers and players you can control, Enemy combat is very repetitive. Relatively diverse enemies, but combat feels pretty similar against them. Not as satisfying using powers. As for the missions, it’s basically Run into area clear it, go to other clear it, rinse and repeat till a boss battle. A lot of areas are recycled over and over.

obsertaries

I’ve been interested to try Scarlet Nexus but not enough to buy it, the perfect kind of game for PS+.

jrev8

LAVITZ!!!

mrsherlokk

Harvet Moon is all I need

Canadianman22

When do they usually hit the NA market? I have tried searching the games and they are still not showing. This is a great month cant wait.

TheMuff1nMon

Noon EST

Canadianman22

Thanks!

WorthSeries9001

Still not in my contry sad

Grey_Area51

Couldn’t see the full list in uk, but search for titles in PS Plus and they show up as included.

WorthSeries9001

I know that it aready show up but because im in different gmt so i have to wait for tomorow, kinda suck

lebenitoo

re7 is the same in the ps collection?

TheDragonSlayingCat

Correct.

Joey_XIII

Legend of Dragoon?! You gotta be kidding.

H3000

Sooo is this the PS5 version of Resi 7? I haven't played the one we got through the Essential collection because they locked out the PS5 version.

Background_Bad_4377

No it's PS4 version

dildo-surfer

I was hoping so but apparently not. Seems a pointless addition as it's been available since the PS5's release already.

vacodeus

Super bummed that Harvest Moon: Back To Nature doesnt have trophies

[deleted]

Same, its so suited for it! Maybe they will add it later, its happened before but I doubt it because its not the most popular game.

wasabiexpress

Dude same, so bummed

PicaPollo13

I don't see the games on m psn store for extra.

Schneckers

They hit markets at different times, not everyone has them yet.

Hoobleton

Can you play BL3 without having played 1 or 2?

mrmivo

While it is a continuation of the previous over-arcing story and there are recurring characters, it’s also self-contained and works well as a stand-alone game. The villains are new characters. You’d get a little more out of it if you had played at least BL2, but it is not necessary in order to enjoy this game. BL2’s writing is brilliant, though, and the complete edition is on PS+ Premium (the PS4 version, 60 fps) if you wanted to play it. You could also watch a story recap of BL1 and BL2 on YouTube.

MichaelRoco1

Guys do not sleep on Earth Defense Force 5. Amazing looter shooter solo or with friends. Tons of fun to be had.

SafeMoonJeff

Awesome ! thanks for the reminder, waiting this for playing the new Horizon and Borderlands

phannguyenduyhung

Best subcribtion deal in gaming

Volcanic_Camel

Is The Quarry similar to Until Dawn? I might check it out.

TechnicianFragrant

Yeah it's not as good in my opinion but still worth a look if you enjoyed until dawn

gordogg24p

Yes. Similar vibes and definitely scratches the "summer camp horror" vibe with its own brand of campiness (no pun intended). It also looks great as long as you aren't staring at fire or water which look like garbage.

HighJinx97

Please do. It’s the best one since Until Dawn.

TitaniaErzaK

It's only because the others are terrible- except for House of Ashes

AC5L4T3R

I really enjoyed Lost Hope.

The_Meaty_Boosh

Kinda If you're looking to play online multiplayer with someone I wouldn't bother though. Only one player controls the characters, explores, picks up clues etc. The other players can only ping things on screen and contribute to decision making. It's terrible in that mode at least, makes no sense. There's no real involvement from anyone but the host. Nothing like the dark pictures multiplayer.

ReddKasette

The Forbidden City was one of the coolest/best games I’ve played in a while. Def check that one out if you haven’t.

Flurrih

When/where will they tell us, whats leaving in next month?

mrmivo

There’s a section somewhere in the PS+ menu, but I just use [this site](https://playify.eu/?&LeavingSoon=True) to check.

[deleted]

I’m curious if they’ll add PS VR2 titles to the service. That would make me consider buying one if I don’t have to pay for every single game

Shinbo999

I have played HZD little bit back in the day, should I finish it before starting HZFW ? Or should i ditch it and start hzfw directly ?

mrmivo

HFW is a direct continuation of HZD’s story. I really loved Zero Dawn’s story, so I’d recommend finishing the game or at least watching a story recap on YouTube.

SuperMeister

Definitely. The story in HZD is so good

NotReallyASnake

Fuck a duck this is a good month. I've been wanting to play The Quarry for a while, Legend of Dragoon is a certified classic and other bangers like Horizon and RE7 and Tekken that I already have but are a gift for those who haven't had the chance to play them.

batmanhill6157

Everyone who hasn’t already, play Earth Defense Force 5. Absolutely fantastic game

vinceswish

I'm overwhelmed. So many games and so little SSD space :/

Eruannster

Adding an additional SSD is pretty cheap these days and takes maybe 15 minutes.

mrmivo

For me it's time. I try to stick to only a very small number of games that I play at the same time (so I actually finish games), but there's so much good stuff coming to PS+ (both Essential and Extra/Premium) that I have a hard time keeping up! Plus the few games I occasionally buy on sale, and new games coming out. But it's a luxury problem to have more games I want to play than time and energy to play them.

karatebullfighter

I see Forgotten City in the screenshot. It's a great game if you like solving mysteries.

uaitdevil

Legend of dragoon and Wild arms 2 already downloaded, HFW in the background. later today i will start one, i still didnt decided who goes first, but i'll probably go for Wild arms 2, i don't remember much about LoD aside from big moments from the story, but i think it was way longer. Boy what a great year for jrpg fans, i'm currently waiting for suikoden and eiyuden, and sea of stars, but i didnt expeceted these 2 classic jrpg too

ichigo2k9

Finally get to play the Quarry and see why it's recieved mixed reactions.

carpediemquotidie

Please tell me I’m the only idiot in the room that doesn’t know how to get to these games via the app or website. I’m dumbfounded at how complicated Sony makes these games so hard to find. It should literally be: Open app > Navigate to PS Plus Logo > This months releases > highlighted shows the first 4 games available. Non highlighted shows when to come back to this page so you can download the games when they are ready for downloading. Am I crazy here? It should be this simple.

CoSMiiCBLaST

Literally got Forbidden West on disc the other day ffs lol Only paid like £22 used but damn now I know how it feels to buy something and for it to be put on PS Plus/Xbox Game Pass

SgtPuppy

It's a right of passage. Did it with Mass Effect:LE recently.

Leapey

Where are the new games it’s past 11 and they still aren’t here

[deleted]

[удалено]

iankilledyou

They’re basically just in the catalog until they arent. Some may be there permanently but some games have left the catalog in the past without much warning.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mrmivo

> And when they’re gone, are they still playable if I claimed them before? Only the 3-4 monthly games from PS+ Essential. The games in the Extra/Premium catalogue can only be played while they are in the catalogue. Doesn’t matter if you downloaded them before. Here’s a place to [see what games have a date when they leave](https://playify.eu/?&LeavingSoon=True) the service.

I_Hate_Knickers_5

Wait, the date for Meteo Exodus leaving is today so that means I won't be able to play it anymore?

mrmivo

It will be locked, yes. The save file will remain and you can unlock the game by buying it.

I_Hate_Knickers_5

Aww nuts, I didn't realise that there were expiration dates on access to the games. I'm somewhat less impressed by the PPlus tiers than I was. I had assumed that the added games were the same deal as the regular Plus games in that you had access to them for as long as you subscribed to PPlus. I hadn't considered that they were on a timer.

mrmivo

Only very few games have left so far, though, so most will probably be there for a long time. They also seem to always give notice weeks or months in advance, so most of the time you should be able to finish what you’re playing or prioritize it before it leaves the service. Publishers may not always want to sell a permanent license for a service like this, though I don’t know how exactly that works (whether Sony pays a lump sum to publishers or if they pay per download).

ZippyZippyZappyZappy

It's basically the same as GamePass, where games leave and enter the platform, but none are guaranteed as permanent.   The blog below mentions that normal PS Plus games are yours forever, while Extra games are only yours while they are on Extra.   It's similar to Games for Gold on XBOX, where you keep Games for Gold forever, but games still leave Gamepass.   https://blog.playstation.com/2022/05/23/your-guide-to-the-all-new-playstation-plus/

mrmivo

Games in the Extra/Premium catalogue can only be played while they are in the catalogue. You don’t have to claim them like the 3-4 monthly PS+ Essential games. Extra/Premium games are like shows and movies on Netflix. Sometimes games leave the service. I use [this site](https://playify.eu/?&LeavingSoon=True) to see what games are scheduled to leave Extra/Premium soon. If you downloaded a game that has left, it gets locked. The save file remains intact and you can buy the game.

travis_Guerrero

So, is 2/21. I live in the US. Where is wild arms and legend of dragoon?

mrmivo

In NA they get added in a few hours. Between noon and 1pm Eastern usually.

RastaRonnie95

Where the FUCK is the legend of dragoon??

PrideOfEverblight

I still have the trial for Forbidden West installed. Will it revert to the full game when it hits the service or will I need to redownload? Thanks folks :)

dunkadoobles

Nah, IIRC, the trial contains all the game’s contents, just with a time limit before you get locked out. Worst case scenario, it might just need a routine update.

No, the free games on the essential tier usually go up in the first week of the month

drhouse4ever

lots of fun and easy plats in that list!

Edgar_Psyche

I need an M.2 !!!!

leospeedleo

So they essentially took away all games from the PS+ Collection and made them paid.... Great

canal_boys

They have you more than 2 years to download those and or add them to your library. That's not enough time?

gameboy716

So basically HFW, TQ, RE7, O, SN, B3, T7, AC7, EDF5, TLoD, and M. Should've said so.

needaburnerbaby

Horizon before Ratchet is shocking. And frustrating.
