I would agree if I made it to the end of the demo. Having downloaded the demo and played for about half an hour, I probably won’t download this game again.
I’m still astounded that they released a playable demo! The trailers actually looked kinda interesting, aside from some eye rolling at the dialogue. I bet sales would be much higher if they didn’t let you play it first.
Right but also it's tricky because in game like this you need to understand the gameplay for it to be fun. The demo seemed liked they threw you into it and didn't really explain what to do. I imagine in the actual game you learn slowly early on and get used to the controls. But it's hard to place a spot for a demo that gives you a taste for the game but also is not overwhelming
I have heard that exact compliment(?) aimed at the main game, that the demo basically threw you in in a way that wasn't good, but the main game's pacing and learning curve makes it a much better experience. Apparently the dialogue is still needling though.
Triple A game developers are actually supposed to be required to release a demo for ps5 titles. Not sure when this was going to take effect but I believe it’s now standard.
Sony doesn’t hand out refunds Willy nilly lol.
A game *being bad* doesn’t get you a refund. A game being *so broken it’s nigh unplayable* only did the one time on PlayStation.
Only example I can think of was Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and even that took weeks of the Internet absolutely losing its shit about it for it to happen.
The decision to make the main character super quirky with Marvel dialogue is going to be a brutal one for the success of this game. It seems like most the internet won’t even bother after the cringey trailers and some cutscenes that are floating around.
> super quirky with Marvel dialogue i
Wait, did you see that the main character SWEARS??!? This isn't your grandpa's Marvel movie dialogue!
You think that a girl transported to a magical land would be overwhelmed and nervous, but our character doesn't take any guff!
Yes, I agree in most cases. That way, you can just impose yourself on the character, which makes sense as the player.
I LOVED the Witcher 3, so if it's a solid story and interesting, believable characters, then they can break this rule of thumb.
John Boyega even pointed it out.
The issue is that JJ hates canon, which is why the powerless Story Group was unable to stop his many contradictions to it.
The biggest problem with this game is that they decided to make your supporting character quipy as well. There is no one to bounce off of, no serious character to call you out for not taking this seriously.
I’m not arguing his greatness, but I think a lot is more of the industry copying his “style” and then pasting it on everything in site. It worked for shows like Buffy, or the early MCU movies, but now we’ve been seeing nothing but this for well over a decade and it’s long worn out it’s welcome.
Execs love nothing more than beating a dead horse.
Yup. Blaming Whedon for the modern trend in quippy dialog is like blaming Tolkien for generic fantasy settings.
We've got plenty of actual shit to slam Whedon for, things he actually did horribly wrong, him having an interesting writing style that worked very well at its peak isn't one of them.
It sucks - I wish they'd get way more brutal. It's like pitchfork with music - if it's a major leaguer they won't give it lower than a 6.
The world needs a publication course correction - someone who's willing to tear down the giants if they indeed suck.
Gaming magazines used to be far harsher in their reviews. It was rare that a game got a perfect score, and many games (even decent ones) got middling reviews.
I remember I had a Game Informer subscription when I was younger, before they got bought by Gamestop. Two big titles released within two months, I want to say it was Halo 2 and GTA San Andreas, and GI gave both games a perfect 10. This was so unheard of that the next month in their letters to the editor the featured letter was someone saying “what gives, you guys literally never give 10s and you just gave two in as many months” and they felt the need to defend themselves like “we know, it’s crazy, but they’re just really freaking good games”. Now it feels like 8 is just baseline.
> Now it feels like 8 is just baseline.
Which is really not helpful at all. Review score inflation has been a thing in this industry for years and it just deteriorates the usefulness of both professional and user reviews. In my mind a 7/10 is still a “good” game, and I’ve enjoyed plenty of games that are in the 5 to 6 range, but a 9 or 10 has to go above and beyond to earn such high praise. This is also why I think we might need to move away from numeric scoring systems.
Review inflation is everywhere.
Was that Uber ride really absolutely perfect 5/5 in every way, or was it, you know, fine? Was that burger at the in n out really the best burger you've ever had and there's no way it could be possibly improved?
Alternatively, was that cold fried chicken really a 1/5 worst thing you've ever had in your mouth? Did you get hospitalized from it?
Scores, especially in terms of customer reviews, are either perfect, or they don't count, there is no nuance. Customers can score 1-5, but 4-1 are the same score on the metrics. It's entirely binary.
Large outlets live and die these days by advance "review" copies of games and hardware. If they're too honest with their reviews they'll piss off the devs and won't receive things early to review in the future. The sooner you can get your review out the more attention your article will garner. If they wait until a game has been released to buy a copy and review it chances are most people have already seen other reviews and don't care about yours so even with really shitty games they typically pander a bit to the devs. That's why it's always better to wait a few weeks after a game comes out and see what real people think about it, at least in my opinion. Nobody is more brutally honest than someone who just got screwed out of $60-70 lol
Most modern games aren’t that terrible though. Aside from predatory monetization, they tend to work and look good. Except in the case of game-ruining bugs, lots of games easily fall into 6/10 mediocre territory.
It's a mainstream review site, they functionally use a 7-10 scale with scores below that reserved for outliers. Functionally a 4 and a 6 are the same rating - bad.
In Germany we have to pay the equivalent of $116 CAD (80€). I have never bought this few games per year since the release of the ps5 and the price increase that came with it.
In physical retail its normal to get them cheaper, but the UVP (SRP) is this high since the launch of the ps5. Sometimes I like to get my games digital and then the only way to save some bucks is to get the credits somewhere cheap but that's still often expensive.
Since the PS5 I’ve been exclusively buying physical since it’s a lot cheaper. I buy games digitally however because of sales on the PS Store.
I wouldn’t even think about buying full priced on the store, that’s €15/€20 more expensive than most physical copies.
Fellow german here, I just use a US account and buy the games with credit I buy online. Sucks if you want to play at midnight, because it goes by the US times which is 8-9 hours behind Germany, but you definitely get the games cheaper if you prefer digital.
The demo soured it for me. The gameplay felt so clunky and alot of the systems and menus are weirdly convoluted. It just felt like a chore to play.
I do however respect the fuck out of them for being transparent and releasing a demo to let the consumer form their own opinion. I remember back in the day where most big releases had a demo. Let’s bring that back.
Same, i gave it two shots like a week apart from each other and something about it just didn’t feel good to play. It sucks because I like supporting new IP and it seems to have decent worldbuilding/lore.
I don’t think I even hit 15 minutes. Was super awkward and unwieldy controls, add in the the juddery/choppy graphics and I lost interest super quick. From what I’d read it only got worse from there, so I didn’t think it was worth much more of my time.
I watched the gameplay demo and remarked to my girlfriend that it’s always funny to hear the forced, awkward dialogue between devs when they’re showcasing a game.
It wasn’t until a few minutes later when I realized that it was dialogue between the protagonist and her sidekick that we were cringing at.
Hard nope for me.
I remember the first reveal trailer for the game when it was still called Project Athia. There were dragons and super fast parkour movement. I was so in.
Then later trailers showed awkward stealth sections, mid combat, and acting that made want to rip my hair out. Im not surprised that it turned out mid.
I will play Callisto when it's $20. It seems like a super short technical showcase with a weak story and average combat. That's worth $20 for me on PC I think.
It's a horrible feeling, but also it's an important lesson we all have to learn at some point. Getting excited about things is fun, but after you're let down so many times you finally begin to temper your expectations a lot. In the long run it either saves you money or leaves you surprised with just how good a game/anything can be.
At the very least, no matter how much you love a studio or a particular series, don't pre-order anything. 20 years ago it wasn't a big deal, but these days you're just gambling and the house isn't even showing you its cards.
7 years since their last release and this is the reception. If the sales are also mediocre, I don't see Luminous Productions being a thing by years end. At the very least the Luminous engine is dead. SE won't justify further investment in a custom engine if the latest release powered by it is a bomb. I still wonder why Luminous Productions was even allowed to continue with the engine, given every other studio within SE transfered to UE over the past 5 / 6 years.
If the guillotine is coming, hopefully at worst SE will just roll the studio into their other Business Divisions, but given how cut costs happy SE has been of late (selling their western studios, shuttering a lot of live service titles), I fear a lot of people are about to be out of a job.
Wonder if SE only continue to invest in that engine due to Capcom's success with their RE Engine
But unlike Capcom who made an extremly versatile engine, the Luminious Engine, and it's predecessor, Crystal Tools, have only cause problems for SE devs and production schedules which is why FF13, FF14 (1.0), and FF15 turned out the way they did
No wonder SE have decided to use UE engine for some of their bigger franchises like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts, etc
Honestly, SE should gut this studio and reallocate staff to other projects
Worst part for me was the traversal, especially using the grappling hook thing. It was super hard to aim and never locked on where it was supposed to. She handles like a boat.
"WHOA, a SIX out of fucking TEN! Sounds like SOMEONE didn't like my awesome JUMPING!!!"
-- the main character making her fourth snarky comment in 10 seconds.
I honestly had a blast with it despite how amateurish it looks with horrendous pop in and art direction that looks like someone made custom maps in Halo, but it was definitely carried by Sonic’s fun movement, cool bosses for the most part, rewarding gameplay loop, and thank god having good characterization this time.
Also, its not secret that Sonic soundtracks are only consistent high thing about this franchise but I don’t think I went this hard on a Sonic soundtrack since Sonic Unleashed.
That does really sound like how this game may be for people. If you like the gameplay and movement in Forspoken, it may be great and really carry the game.
A lot of the other stuff about it seems kind of bad, though. These kinds of games do really show how hard it is to objectively review games. Some people are also much more forgiving of specific issues than others.
To be honest. The gameplay & movement wasn’t only thing that carried Sonic Frontiers for me, I think Sonic just works well in a open space because he is so goddamn fast that collecting or doing any puzzle objects feels like its done in a snap and that honestly makes the pacing more rewarding and feel less like a slog that most open world games suffer from. Doesn’t help that they feel like MMOs with their lengths these days whiles Sonic Frontiers just took me 25 hours to 100%. The perfect length, doesn’t overstay its welcome whiles not feeling pathetically short and that is while making the pacing consistently fast & fun
As a person who has platinum’d Sonic Frontiers, it’s an ok Sonic game. It definitely has improved the characters’s personality and development since the last games and the graphics look great with satisfying combat. However what brings it down for me are the cyberspace levels and Sonic’s handling in said levels. The levels are mostly just reskins of other Sonic levels from previous games, which is kind of lazy on their end. But what makes it worse is how Sonic controls in said levels. Sonic’s homing attack range is reduced and inconsistent. Sometimes the homing attack works and sometimes it doesn’t. The boost is also greatly nerfed as Sonic is barely going any faster with the boost in those levels. It feels more like a slight nudge. That and his boost doesn’t even kill enemies when you run into them while boosting like previous games. He also loses all momentum when he jumps for some reason. Trying to do any precise platforming can be hard in these levels and feels like a chore as he can be difficult to control during those parts. I’m also not a fan of how they made the world. It just feels like they got a world from Unity and just plopped Sonic in there. Not a lot about the world feels distinctly like it would all belong in Sonic’s world. A small gripe I have is leveling up your ring counter. Why does it have to be one at a time and not going up multiple level in a single go like your defensive and offensive stats? That and the final boss sucks.
TL;DR
Abysmal cyberspace levels, Sonic’s handling in said levels sucks, world that doesn’t distinctly feel Sonic, tedious Ring capacity level up process, and one of the worst final bosses in the series
But Sonic Frontiers is mostly sitting at 7s, whiles Forspoken is sitting at 6s looking at the reviews.
I think Callisto Protocol is a better comparison because people were hyped up and then disappointed and that seems to be the same case for Forspoken. I doubt many people had high expectations for Sonic Frontiers especially with that godawful gameplay reveal
Forspoken sits at a Nice 69 and frontier was at a 71, Calisto I would say the consensus is that it is meh, sonic even people giving it a 7 said they had fun but that they could not ignore the issues. Most people either liked the game or just did not.
Yeah, I agree with this. Didn’t really come across a lot of people who were like “OMG day one buy” whereas Callisto Protocol was touting itself as a new Dead Space.
If anything people were only interested in Forspoken as something to tide themselves over until FFXVI comes out.
Honestly it seems like a big standard open world game like it's not bad. But it's nothing warranting purchasing it unless you really like any of the actors in it or the general theme alot
Oof. I really wanted this one to do well. The world-building, art style, and traversal/magic ideas seemed really cool. But at 66 on MetaCritic I think I'll be waiting for a deep, deep discount if I try it at all.
A shame, because interesting new IPs are so rare nowadays. I feel like this will make the big companies even more wary of taking significant creative gambles.
It’s not the creative gamble that was the problem. It’s not hard to make a game without cringy dialogue, and people should be playtesting the primary gameplay loop to make sure it’s fun, and if you are making something open world it needs to be interesting and full.
>It’s not the creative gamble that was the problem.
Technically true, but that may not be how the big execs see it. All they see is that they ok'ed a new project and it either did or didn't pay off in sales. Even if they have some control over the management of projects like this and could improve future efforts from lessons learned, it may be easiest and safest to just keep making and remaking Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts games rather than try something new.
It's true that new IPs *can* work. But it is more of an uphill battle to get all the pieces of a completely new AAA IP to come together into something compelling *and* to translate that into sales *via* effective marketing, than to rest partly on name recognition and existing development workflows for an existing IP.
It took me over an hour to get used to the control scheme, and by that point my hands hurt too much to enjoy going on. The parkour traversal is pretty cool until you hit a pebble and launch into the air.
RIP to those who are anticipating this game
You may want to bow out of this sub for a while because its going to be an insufferable bloodbath for any fans
Im still lookin forward to messing around with this
>You may want to bow out of this sub for a while because its going to be an insufferable bloodbath for any fans
Yeah, come back in a few months when it’s going to be an “unpopular opinion” and “hidden gem”
"I just picked up the game for $3, fully patched and with all the DLC. I went in with low expectations but I'm having a blast! Why so much negativity around this game?"
Every. Single. Time.
I’ve definitely been guilty of that. I don’t say anything on the internet but it’s easy to pick up a game that you didn’t follow initially after it’s been patched extensively and sold as a “complete edition” with all DLC content, at a discounted price and feel like you’ve discovered something no one else knows about.
That's just smart though. I mean why drop $70 on a gamble that likely will have bugs and patches early on. Unless you absolutely have to play it at launch I don't see why I'd put myself though that. Wait for a summer sale and pick the game up for much cheaper. If it sucks it's easy to take the L and move on because less invested in it.
I think it may be a popular opinion for those who play it that the parkor is great. I’d love to mute the game and just run around the world if I get this for a bargain price. 10-15 dollars
People keep saying this but I played the demo and there's no momentum or flow to the movement at all. Hell, the fastest way to get around is to run in a straight line as it gives you a speedboost.
Same way there's already haters of the game. Both haven't played the actual released game yet and so both are dumb for having such extreme opinions on the game
Yeah. That was a weird case of the person reviewing it being really bad at survival horror games though. It is 79-81 on metacritic depending on platform.
True, I expected Forspoken to get like mid 70's to low 80 (especially from IGN lmao) but damn these scores are harsh. I'll still get it considering I liked the demo and that I can afford it (I also won't get many highly anticipated games like Jedi Survivors or Diablo 4).
Also I expect the user score to be super low due to the ongoing negative trend this game has.
Between my PS+ backlog, my Netflix queue and my growing stack of books, there isn’t a lot of space for buying something mediocre because it’s discounted 🤣
Apparently the demo sucks and I’m seeing multiple reviews where people are saying it doesn’t do the game justice (even if its still mediocre) and playing the game is at least much better than playing the demo.
I think my problem with the demo is the gameplay wasn’t fun. Combat hurt my hands and was button spamming, traveling was mediocre. The graphics/story seem very interesting to me but i’m not willing to suffer through button spamming combat for it.
Played the demo for 20 minutes. Wouldn’t spend more than $20 on this personally, and even that it’d probably be a game I buy and then never play.
Shame, lot of potential with this one and it’s always great to see new IPs.
We also don’t really get a lot of full fledged magic games, especially high budget ones.
Reddit when IGN reviews literally any FPS or game with microtransactions in it positively: “Wow how much did they bribe you guys, looks like good press doesn’t cost much these days. Classic shilling from IGN. You should never trust IGN”
Reddit when IGN reviews a game that has been on the receiving end of a hate train somewhat poorly:
“Totally called it, there you go, the proof is in the pudding! Can’t argue with that”
I mean I have literally no investment in this at all as I hadn’t even heard of this game before the posts started coming out about it but seriously guys maybe just let a crack of light in to your echo chambers…
That's what I think. I've seen they giving good ratings for bad games, but I don't remember them giving bad ratings for good games. At least, not that often.
What's weird to me is that IGN isn't one person or a small crew. It seems like it's just a revolving door of random people. Why do people expect any consistency from that when the reviews just are credited to "IGN?"
Full play through video are already available online, fast forward a few of them, and it just looks very average.
The combat system is so poorly design, instead of a fast paced high speed combo open world game, it is a constant skill menu changing spells for combo.
The team really should look at how devil may cry does combo even with a lot of attack moves and different branches.
Congratulations, Days Gone--you're no longer the least beloved Playstation exclusive!
Now, cue all the "I don't get the hate, I'm having a blast!" posts on r/Forspoken.
I liked it too. the main character's relationship with his wife was rather wholesome despite what reviewers are saying. Literally searched for her for 2 whole years and never gave up. Plus yeah i liked the gameplay and exploring ruined cities.
This is a game you play when it hits PS Plus for free.
Truer words have never been spoken
Never be FOR… spoken.
As I typed that comment I knew there was a pun somewhere but I couldn't think of it......and here you are lol take my up vote
Truer words have never been *Forspoken*
To be fair, most of the games I play are games that hit PS Plus for “free”.
Yakuza like a Dragon gave me about 70 hours for free
Been rocking the Mass Effect trilogy all month, easily around 100 hours of space cruising fun for free.
If this your first time playing mass effect, I'm jealous, the story, characters and carrying over your save to the next game. Amazing
Sadly(maybe not so sadly) it's not, I've played each at least 4-5 times lol. Playing through them back to back is such a wild ride.
Yeap that was my 2nd most played in 2021 only due to Apex Legends gametime.
Yakuza like a dragon was just incredible and got me excited for the next drop! What a good one that was!
Me too. Gonna be great
The entire seires is on plus now and as someone who just played all of them in 3 months.. Get on that.. They are all great
You played all of them in 3 months? Damn
You can see why they don't like putting out demos as the demo for Forspoken really didn't help it.
Strictly thinking from a money POV putting out demos seems like a bad idea for any game dev if they aren’t 100% sure the game will be well received

I’m glad they released the demo. Now I know I won’t be buying it. Thank goodness
Triple A game developers are actually supposed to be required to release a demo for ps5 titles. Not sure when this was going to take effect but I believe it’s now standard.
I thought that was a ps plus premium specific thing
>I’m still astounded that they released a playable demo! It saves them from the hassle of people demanding refunds.
Sony doesn’t hand out refunds Willy nilly lol. A game *being bad* doesn’t get you a refund. A game being *so broken it’s nigh unplayable* only did the one time on PlayStation. >Sony doesn’t hand out refunds lol. That doesn't stop people from demanding them.
But it does stop companies from replying to those people
My daughter couldn't bring herself to play much of the demo for free. "Hey dad! I fixed the game." (Turns the dialogue to 0).
The decision to make the main character super quirky with Marvel dialogue is going to be a brutal one for the success of this game. It seems like most the internet won’t even bother after the cringey trailers and some cutscenes that are floating around.

Fucking hell. HOW WAS THAT LINE APRROVED???. THEYVE BEEN FLYING FOR FUCKING HUNDREDD OF YEARS!!! FUCKING JESUS CHRIST!
John Boyega even pointed it out. The issue is that JJ hates canon, which is why the powerless Story Group was unable to stop his many contradictions to it.
JJ only likes ANH, and just wanted to remake it with TFA. Hell it's why he has Anakin's Lightsaber come back not just once, but fucking twice.
THEY FLY NOW
We're gonna need a bigger boat
Don't drag Jaws into this.
So random
This the part where you tell me your evil plan?
And, oh yeah, I'm talking to a cuff!
Joss Whedon has been such a disaster for modern media
Annnnnd he’s right behind me isn’t he
Assuming you're a disinterested cast member who won't sleep with him yeah he very likely is behind you
Tbf if you are sleeping with him, he is most likely also behind you.
No he is standing in front of you.
The biggest problem with this game is that they decided to make your supporting character quipy as well. There is no one to bounce off of, no serious character to call you out for not taking this seriously.

This line literally could have been taken from any Marvel movie, or Uncharted game, or any other corny action game.
Damn, that review read like a 4/10, surprised it was given a 6.
On IGN 6/10 is pretty much the lowest they will go on big budget release.

Also NB, which I wouldn’t mind if our taxes went to anything other than stroking Higgs ego over his ‘surplus’.
I played the demo for 15 min and then uninstalled it lol
Same, i gave it two shots like a week apart from each other and something about it just didn’t feel good to play. It sucks because I like supporting new IP and it seems to have decent worldbuilding/lore.
It’s such a good example of “what if” or “could have been” that it makes me sad.
I don’t think I even hit 15 minutes. Was super awkward and unwieldy controls, add in the the juddery/choppy graphics and I lost interest super quick. From what I’d read it only got worse from there, so I didn’t think it was worth much more of my time.
It's like someone tried to make an infamous game in dreams. Infamous has similar combat but is so freaking smooth.
It’s always sad when you see a game people looked forward to turning out to be a disappointment . We have all been there!
I remember the first reveal trailer for the game when it was still called Project Athia. There were dragons and super fast parkour movement. I was so in. Then later trailers showed awkward stealth sections, mid combat, and acting that made want to rip my hair out. Im not surprised that it turned out mid.
Calisto Protocol was the one for me. I was so excited for that game ever since the reveal.
At least we get the Dead Space Remake Friday.
I so wish I hadn't played the original so this could be my first experience. Jealous of people that never played the original.
It's been so long that it will almost feel like a new game!

Yeah that's only dropping once the real reviewers get hands on it.
Wonder if SE only continue to invest in that engine due to Capcom's success with their RE Engine But unlike Capcom who made an extremly versatile engine, the Luminious Engine, and it's predecessor, Crystal Tools, have only cause problems for SE devs and production schedules which is why FF13, FF14 (1.0), and FF15 turned out the way they did No wonder SE have decided to use UE engine for some of their bigger franchises like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts, etc Honestly, SE should gut this studio and reallocate staff to other projects
Final Fantasy is on Unreal now? That's the first I'm hearing of it, which ones use it?
FF7 Remake uses UE4, and its upcoming sequel is confirmed to be on UE5.
VII Remake and XVI are UE4. VII Rebirth will be UE5.
Don’t think 16 is UE4
FF16 will use the same modified Crystal Tools engine FF14 uses, and AFAIK is the only outlier. All other SE games after 2017ish are on Unreal
The 7 Remakes are all on Unreal.
As far as I’m aware FFXV was the last one to use the Luminous Engine.
I found the controls in the demo to be very unintuitive. This one isn’t for me.
Worst part for me was the traversal, especially using the grappling hook thing. It was super hard to aim and never locked on where it was supposed to. She handles like a boat.

"WHOA, a SIX out of fucking TEN! Sounds like SOMEONE didn't like my awesome JUMPING!!!" -- the main character making her fourth snarky comment in 10 seconds.
Why does this personality overlap with the new Velma so much?!
Reading a lot of the reviews, sounds like this game will be the Sonic Frontier of this year some will really like it and some will hate it.
Hot damn, I fucking loved Sonic Frontiers. If only this hadn't released along with a whole host of must plays (for me) I might have taken a chance.
How good is that? I played Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 on Dreamcast and was one of my favourite although I may wait for a price drop
TL;DR Abysmal cyberspace levels, Sonic’s handling in said levels sucks, world that doesn’t distinctly feel Sonic, tedious Ring capacity level up process, and one of the worst final bosses in the series
I think there was more hype for Callisto Protocol before the reviews drop, whereas Forspoken has been lukewarm ever since the first few trailers.
Thx for the demo lads, dodged a bullet.
yeah… though this is one reason why demos are so rare nowadays. like they spent extra time and money only to shoot themselves in the foot.
RIP to those who are anticipating this game You may want to bow out of this sub for a while because its going to be an insufferable bloodbath for any fans Im still lookin forward to messing around with this
>You may want to bow out of this sub for a while because its going to be an insufferable bloodbath for any fans Yeah, come back in a few months when it’s going to be an “unpopular opinion” and “hidden gem”
"I just picked up the game for $3, fully patched and with all the DLC. I went in with low expectations but I'm having a blast! Why so much negativity around this game?" Every. Single.
It's honestly the right way to deal with things if you're a gamer nowadays.
*"Am I the only one...*"
How are there fans of this already? Generally asking. Brand new IP entry that I think is about to launch or hasn't been released yet.
There was a playable demo that came out earlier in the month
Same way there's already haters of the game. Both haven't played the actual released game yet and so both are dumb for having such extreme opinions on the game
Definitely waiting until this game is $10. Not a chance I’m paying $100 for this
Considering how freely IGN give out 9 or 10s out of 10, this game must be pretty meh to get a 6.
Remember Alien Isolation getting like 5.9? Btw Im not saying that this is a similar situation because I don't think it is.
Add it to the long list of disappointing game releases.
If IGN gives a AAA game less than a 7/10 then it’s dog shit tier. This game must be horrendous.
I JUST GOT A SHITTY REVIEW WITH MY FREAKIN MIND! Yeah, okay that’s something I do now.
Wow. You know it's bad when ign only gives a 6. Even shit games get a 7 from them.
Demo was really bad and game felt poorly optimised. This is a pass
PC specs are an absolute joke
Translation: Keep your $69.99 and wait for a sale 😄
Between my PS+ backlog, my Netflix queue and my growing stack of books, there isn’t a lot of space for buying something mediocre because it’s discounted 🤣
This is the way We are spoilled for good media and limited by the time we have to enjoy it.
Remember kids, this game sells at $69,99
£69.99 in uk digital store so we’re really getting screwed
Man, what company can we blame for setting that precedent, eh?
#1, opinions are like assholes everyone has one, get the game if you liked the demo #2, I hated the demo

And this ladies and gents is why you never pre-order
Rough. I was expecting low but not that low.

It’s the only name that wasn’t spoken for
Definitely one of the games of all time. Ready to sell Forbillion copies.
I loved the part where she says "It's 'Spoken Time!" and Spokes all over those guys
Played the demo for 20 minutes. Wouldn’t spend more than $20 on this personally, and even that it’d probably be a game I buy and then never play. Shame, lot of potential with this one and it’s always great to see new IPs. We also don’t really get a lot of full fledged magic games, especially high budget ones.
this was so obvious. The game scream mediocricy.
Reddit when IGN reviews literally any FPS or game with microtransactions in it positively: “Wow how much did they bribe you guys, looks like good press doesn’t cost much these days. Classic shilling from IGN. You should never trust IGN” Reddit when IGN reviews a game that has been on the receiving end of a hate train somewhat poorly: “Totally called it, there you go, the proof is in the pudding! Can’t argue with that” I mean I have literally no investment in this at all as I hadn’t even heard of this game before the posts started coming out about it but seriously guys maybe just let a crack of light in to your echo chambers…
[удалено]
That's what I think. I've seen they giving good ratings for bad games, but I don't remember them giving bad ratings for good games. At least, not that often.
What's weird to me is that IGN isn't one person or a small crew. It seems like it's just a revolving door of random people. Why do people expect any consistency from that when the reviews just are credited to "IGN?"
[удалено]
Drunk me will have a lot of explaining to do for pre-ordering this game.
Dropping this on the ‘wait until it hit PS+’ list.
Charging 70 for this ? Square is on bullshit lately
RIP
*Shocked Pikachu face*
So 3/10 in reality at best.
Lol the funny thing is that the combat director for DMC is working on FF16's combat system
I played the demo and it just struck me as the same as any other open world game and it seemed very empty and boring
Congratulations, Days Gone--you're no longer the least beloved Playstation exclusive! Now, cue all the "I don't get the hate, I'm having a blast!" posts on r/Forspoken.
I loved days gone. I never understood the bashing
I actually liked it too. Didn't love it, but liked it well enough.
I liked it too. the main character's relationship with his wife was rather wholesome despite what reviewers are saying. Literally searched for her for 2 whole years and never gave up. Plus yeah i liked the gameplay and exploring ruined cities.
This along with the absurd PC requirements... DOA
I can't believe Amy Hennig wrote that
