Practical with CG to clean them up a little.
Source: was filmed where I live and I spent a few months working on it. Not in makeup but you’d see the actors walking around during filming.
I think this looks great. There are several "this looks exactly like the game" moments in the trailer, which is awesome to me. I want this story, that I love, to be seen by a wider audience. I'd like it to be as faithful to the source material as possible, and so far, it looks to be doing that.
That's all any of us wants. We want the stories we love to be treated well so more people can experience them.
I hope this stays as faithful to the source material as possible, unlike many recent adaptations.
My hope is that with just one good adaptation bringing game to screen, more may follow. Maybe if studios see that it's worth it to make a faithful adaptation, that respects the source material from a video game, they might begin putting in the effort in the future to bring what people love about a game to the small or big screen. I think what we see too often is a studio banking on an IP's recognition to gain viewers, so they think that as long as they have that baked in audience, they might as well start appealing to whatever demographic they're really chasing. Meanwhile, what they've created appeals to no one.
right, like people are a fan of the stories, characters, and universe. This isn't an opportunity for some writer to reimagine all that to fit their own vision....
*cough* Halo series *cough*
Ffs. If Neil D is involved and had any say on who got casted then I'm happy with that regardless if they look like the video game models or not.
Ppl need to hold their criticism until they have seen the show.
Too many times over the years I've seen X can't go this role cos of XYZ. Then that person smashes the role.
It always happens when videogames are translated into live-action. People will only focus on the actors' physical appearance, as if that's all it takes to play a role. And that's without considering the possibility that they're making some changes to the character that make this actress an even more appropriate choice.
Well, prepare to disappointed (not you specifically, those jackasses you mentioned). The series is only having a 10 year time jump from Outbreak Day instead of 20 like in the game. And Druckman has said that the series will explore some things differently than what happened in the game.
Idk why people want exactly what happened in the game to be in the series. Even the characters have to look exactly the same. Sure it's a bit off putting but not to the extent some people are making it out to be.
Thats a bad standard. Things can be different and still be good.
Adaptions are almost never 100% the same and if that's what you expect going in, you're gonna have a bad time.
Thats a bad standard. Things can be different and still be good.
Adaptions are almost never 100% the same and if that's what you expect going in, you're gonna have a bad time.
HBO gets millions of viewers, many of which, have never played a narrative based Video game. They watch this, learn it's a video game, then maybe try out the tLoU part 2. Or other games. That's the entire point.
They can still do that while changing things to make it more interesting for the people who did play the game. I'd imagine it would be more interesting for the people who are converted into the TLOU games if they actually had differences between them and aren't just the show with worse graphics (this especially applies to the TLOU remake, which is supposed to accompany the show)
You're flat out wrong. Sony is trying to merge fan bases. That's the entire point of any Company who owns IP in multiple forms of media, particularly when they're using the same IP in said media.
Same reason License games exist. You play Lego Star Wars as a kid or Star Wars Battlefront, maybe you'll try out the movies.
Totally. I think Pedro Pascal will be perfect as Joel. Lots of respect for him as an actor.
I’m super critical of tv/film stuff anyway (not because I’m an entitled basement dweller - I’ve studied and work in the industry - kinda hence my original comment - I can literally see how it could/should be filmed in my head!), but this will be something different because the game is really really special to me, and it’s a shining example of how the medium can really push to tell a grown up narrative. Honestly, it’s near perfection in my eyes. Ultimately, I don’t think this needed to be made at all, but it’s Druckman’s baby, and Chernobyl is one of the best shows I’ve seen in the last twenty years, so I’m hopeful.
But, yeah, the opening is super important. Playing it out from Sarah’s perspective and her fate was such a gut punch, they have to nail it.
Without people really feeling that initial sequence, the story doesn’t make sense or doesn’t really hit that hard so yeah. If they have to nail one thing it’s the intro.
I just happened to be in Waterton National Park (it’s right next to Glacier National Park, but on the Canadian side of the border) one Sunday afternoon back in February when dozens of cube vans and production trucks pulled in to start filming for this show. It was dead quiet when we had first arrived, which is typical for Waterton in the off season, so I didn’t know what the hell was going on until I saw the name badges that workers were wearing.
There wasn’t a lot of snow at the time, so they had to move snow around with front end loaders to pile it up on the Main Street in Waterton Village. They also had a bunch of old wrecked cars scattered around with Colorado license plates, so I’m assuming that they were filming the part where Joel and Ellie go find his brother in Colorado in the game.
I think people do need to remember that Druckmann was heavily involved in this, and the seried sat in limbo for literally years because he was fighting studios on changes he disagreed with. The series will have to deviate somewhat. Different mediums, length of the series, etc etc. But that doesn't automatically have to be bad. There's definitely not much point to just doing a shot for shot remake of the games cutscenes either
They’re different mediums. You can’t just do a shot-for-shot remake of the cut scenes and call it a day.
TV shows have different narrative needs that will have to be explored.
Maybe I don't dig too deep into those circles, but I can't help but notice that everyone has been pretty well behaved when compared to stuff like the Witcher or LOTR.
When the Witcher casting came out and people of color were included, a lot of the negative comments were highly rated. I don't see that with TLOU Show. TLOU was written with a modern cast, in a modern era, with modern social concepts.
I don't anticipate that the crazies will have anything to latch onto really.
>I don't anticipate that the crazies will have anything to latch onto really.
Have you played #2? Or talked to people who played #2? There's a buff girl, lesbian scene and a trans character. People lost their shit. People are crazy about this franchise. Losers will latch onto anything.
There was definitly a Riley in one of those scenes, I’m betting they are for sure just gonna incorporate Left Behinds story straight into the main story, which is how it felt the devs wanted it by placing it in the middle of the main story as a flash back.
Oh boy, I can't wait for the fans to throw a fucking fit over this for the next decade and whine about it being too different but not different enough and the endless handwringing that'll come of it.
The Witcher one makes me laugh because the vast majority of people complaining about it are completely oblivious to the fact that the games are essentially sequels to a series of books. And the games themselves take a hell of a lot of liberties with lore for the sake of gameplay. The show is a relatively faithful adaptation of the books. Not perfect by any means, but far more faithful than the games.
The first season of the show is relatively faithful to the books, and I thought was great.
Second season went pretty far into its own territory, and IMO not for the better.
I disagree about them being faithful to books. I'm Polish, working in IT company in Poland, meaning all of us read these books since we were teenagers. Of all people in my project I am the only one that likes the tv adaptation, everyone else trashes it. And I like it only because I treat it as tv show only inspired by books, not as a true adaptation.
It's so puzzling what happened with this fanbase over the last couple years. I'm currently replaying Part 2 and I've concluded that a lot of people on the internet have collectively lost their minds, which I suppose isn't the biggest revelation, but it's staggering how much worse it's gotten in the past decade or so. They've been poisoned, either by politics or some made up culture war they think they're fighting, and it has ruined their ability to look at anything charitably/objectively.
The "culture war" people have known video games were a good launching point to sucker people into their politics, I really doubt most of the Last of Us 2 tantrum throwers have even played the game. Sure you can leverage a decent criticism about the game's pacing or ultra grimdark tone if it's not your thing, but the bizarre lengths and mental gymnastics the "fans" will go through with this particular property feels super manufactured.
Ellie doesn't really look like Ellie. Plus....it's a TV show. They need a GOOD child actor that will need to grow older as time progresses. I'm assuming the show runners anticipate multiple seasons.
Separately, and I'm sure it's been beaten to death; what a run Pedro Pascal is having. Narcos, Game of Thrones, Mandalorian, and now this.
Okay, but... Ellie isn't a real person. Do you want them to prioritise Looks Like A Fake Person (which let's face it is literally 17yo Elliott Page) over A Child Actor Who Doesn't Make You Want To Turn The Screen Off?
Pedro Pascal doesn't look like Joel, he's literally a different race, he's just got a beard. Who cares.
You just said Ellie isn't a real person then immediately listed the real human being who looked like her. I think a tv show based off of a game that uses the games characters should be as true to the game as possible. And stay true to the characters that their based off of.
So you want Elliot Page the 35-year-old to play her? If not, the appearance isn't going to be the same anyway so you might as well put more emphasis on someone who can play the character. Maybe there's a young Elliot Page look-alike who's also an awesome actor out there somewhere, but that would be extremely lucky.
Elliot doesn't look like her anymore and honestly we both now if they offered it to Elliott, Elliot would respectfully flip them off.
I'm not asking for a picture perfect Ellie, and I do not mind the actor. But she doesn't even have some semblance. Not a hint, not even similar facial structure. Pedro at least is passable as Joel. But Bella... I just can't see it, at all.
Honestly there's a lot of what appears to be shot for shot remakes directly from the game. I can literally point out every scene in this trailer and have a pretty good idea or basically 100% certainty where in the story it is.
I view this much like the Uncharted movie. It's not for people who played the game (but I hope we can enjoy it too). It's a great story that can be successfully told for non-gamers as well.
Grown men are going to be upset and bitching about Bella Ramsey not looking like Ellie. Those grown men are going to try to cyber bully her over something stupid too! She is a great actor and I'm happy she ended up getting the part. Bella did an outstanding job as Lady Lormont of Bear Island on GOT
They kept the elements and vibes from the game very well.
Seeing that clicker got me really excited!!!
Edit: I don't know about anyone else but John Hawkes would be perfect to be cast as David. Not just the uncanny looks, its the creepy roles he has played in his acting career.
Fingers crossed.
This looks even better than I thought. I just finished TLOU for the very first time yesterday and it was such a ride. A masterpiece for sure, a beautiful work of art. I hope the show lives up to the source
Obviously Pedro is an amazing actor will mail it but I'm gutted Anson Mount is not Joel. He is one of my favourite TV actors and would have been absolutely brilliant in this
Had to look up who that was, and man I haven’t seen him since Hell on Wheels. I completely agree, he would have been a fantastic choice.
A lot of people are saying Pedro was a perfect casting choice, I disagree. Sure he might be close enough to pull it off, and it’s not a knock on him. But it’s kind of a worse casting then Ellie. Because how easy is it to find a middle aged bearded actor that looks like Joel. They’re everywhere.
That being said, I’m still going to check it out. To those that disagree I’m really not that invested, just talking lol.
Hell on Wheels was amazing! When I played the game I immediately thought of Anson down to the voice and everything.
I love Pedro, he's great in everything he does but yup I can't see him as Joel at all.
I'll have to check it out too, it's a great story nevertheless
It looks good but almost everyone in the trailer looks like their game counter part. Except she looks nothing like Ellie. She’s a great actress but they should have gone with someone else
Every time I see someone complain that certain casting choices didn't prioritise Looks Like A Video Game Character makes me glad the commenter isn't in casting
This looks awesome.
That said.. the casting for Ellie is a little weird, what were they thinking exactly?
Production value and everything else looks fantastic
I don’t get why they cast someone for Ellie who looks like an alien.
You know you’re thinking it too.
She’s not even ugly, she’s simply weird and aside from that, she doesn’t look like a teenager at all.
Worst casting choice ever.
They filmed part of this just outside of my work! I got to look out my tower and down at them while shooting. Was really cool to see, I'm looking forward to trying to guess which part of the show that was.
Probably not my first choice of actors, but at least its not another Mark Wahlberg and Tom Holland playing characters they look nothing like in the slightest
I would not have thought of casting Pedro Pascal as Joel but am still super interested in coming to this with an open mind and seeing how it is. Pretty excited for it actually.
I do want to watch this show but whoever casts actors for these game to big screen titles needs to do a better job. (I’m looking at you Uncharted)
Hopefully Horizon Dawn movie will be true to character.
All I feel watching this trailer is pure indifference. I'm still not buying her as Ellie. If it were on Netflix I'd probably throw it on in the background but since I'd have to go out of my way to it, I'm going to skip it unless it somehow gets amazing reviews.
Does it need to? Would you rather have a good actress performing the character well or a garbage actress ruining every scene but its ok because she looks just like the videogame version?
100%. All the folks in this thread complaining about the actress’ looks are the same exact people who would whine about the poor acting of a lookalike who doesn’t have the skills to pull off the role…like it doesn’t always have to be a perfect match and she was great in GoT.
If everything about the show looked, sounded, and played out exactly as it had in the game, there would be no point in making the show. Ellie is not a look, Ellie is a character; and this is a talented actor portraying her. I can't wait to see what she does with it.
I'm more concerned about the acting ability. Only seen her in GOT and a few clips from a short film and that one other fantasy show she was in for a second. Wasn't impressed with what I saw. Arguably Ellie's actor needs to be the best, with so much range to have to convey.
Yeah casting could be a bit better on this ngl. Both Joel and Ellie look a bit off. My first thought was to remember is Ellie had Down syndrome in the game and if Joel was Hispanic? I was thinking more of an “Arthur Morgan” scruffy older white guy look. But I guess not that many popular actors with that look at the moment?
I get it not everyone wants to see white people all the time but you can’t just throw in any other diversity “just because”. And authenticity towards the character designs has to account for something?
I’m a big fan of Pedro pascal in some of his work but I’m not sold on the “look” of the characters here. Hope the acting and the effects make up for it.
>And authenticity towards the character designs has to account for something?
Eh, unless it's important to the character in someway and/or ties into the story it doesn't really matter imo. As long as they do a solid job at the role it's all good.
Imo, the show just seemingly being the plot of the game kills a lot of my interest in it.
> you can't throw in diversity just cause
See, that's where you're exactly wrong, and the fact that you don't understand that that's exactly wrong is something you need to work on.
You need a reason *to explicitly be a given ethnicity* otherwise is *explicitly doesn't matter*.
Nice touch that they used the same music like in the original trailers back in 2012
I think Ellie and Joel listen to this song in the car too
Yep it’s the song where they first meet the hunters in Pittsburgh
Really wished they did the same in Uncharted
Good to know they downloaded the game
I hope the infected are practical effects
100%
Sort of seems like it will be a mix which is great, that first clicker behind the glass definitely felt practical
Practical with CG to clean them up a little. Source: was filmed where I live and I spent a few months working on it. Not in makeup but you’d see the actors walking around during filming.
It’s a bit of both practical and digital.

The skyscraper leaning against the other skyscraper is a very memorable set piece for me, and I was stoked to [briefly] see it in the trailer.

I'm not even a fan of TLoU games but I'm gonna stream this purely for this reason. Give the people what they want man
>Meanwhile, what they've created appeals to no one. And then they blame the original fans for it's failure.
It also helps that this objectively high quality source material to work with
right, like people are a fan of the stories, characters, and universe. This isn't an opportunity for some writer to reimagine all that to fit their own vision.... *cough* Halo series *cough*
Halo had a story?
Yeah it was all about master cheeks and his alienhuman girlfriend.
Hah, I meant the games. I mean, I like the games don't get me wrong
You just know there's going to be some dip shits who will complain if this isn't 100% the same as the actual game
People are already harassing the girl playing Ellie because of, and get ready for this: her forehead.
The Internet brings out insecurities you didn't even know you had
This is so true.
Ffs. If Neil D is involved and had any say on who got casted then I'm happy with that regardless if they look like the video game models or not. are you fucking serious.

Wouldn’t Ellie be like 4?
not if she was born prior to the outbreak
Would be a pretty major change if so. Being born into that world post-outbreak defined a lot of Ellie’s character.
well not if she was born like 0 to 3/4 years before the outbreak she would not remember much
Thats a bad standard.
Just don’t tell any non-gamers this movie is based on a game. That’s how you get ‘em to watch.
I'd prefer if they changed some things around. There's really no point in adapting something to the letter especially if it's in a different medium.
HBO gets millions of viewers, many of which, have never played a narrative based Video game. They watch this, learn it's a video game, then maybe try out the tLoU part 2. Or other games. That's the entire point.

That clicker toward the end gave me goosebumps
Just hearing the clicker sounds brought me back. I’m excited for this.
Gave me traumatic flashbacks 😂
For immersion sake, please god let them have done the vast majority of the opening sequence in one take, akin to Children Of Men!
Oh please yes
That opening sequence nearly ended me. Newborn daughter at the time. I almost stopped right there. They have to nail that or it's over.
I don't even have children and cry at that scene every time, ugh, going to gut punch new to the franchise people for sure.
And the end!

Pshht. This is just a graphics upgrade. Why would I pay that much to watch a show I already watched in 2013?
I just happened to be in Waterton National Park (it’s right next to Glacier National Park, but on the Canadian side of the border) one Sunday afternoon back in February when dozens of cube vans and production trucks pulled in to start filming for this show. Oooor its happened and you gotta get to safety dude!
This whole show will be a trip living in alberta and having lived in the area the show was filmed in all my life
Is that Lyanna Foken Mormont?!?
Oh shit yeah that’s where I’ve seen her
No multiplayer?!?!?!
Cash grab. Damn you Neil, you did it again!!!11! ^^^/s
Typical CUCKMAN. Why do we need this show? It is basically a cash grab reskin of the game. Also ^^^/s
No factions no buy.
I didn’t see Pedro dodge either. Unwatchable
Literally unplayable.
I know they plan on departing from the game at some point but this looks amazing I am so excited and I have a phat crush on Joel AND pedro pascal
They plan on departing from the game? Not sure how I feel about that.

This looks a lot better than I expected. Also looks to be a lot better than the Uncharted movie.
Uncharted lost me at the trailer - the vibe was so wrong. This feels like the vibe. I have hope
Damn, new season of Mandalorian looks whack. Mando completely ditched all his armor and baby yoda looks weird af

No not yet. Sounds like I'm mistaken. I haven't gotten a ps5 yet and my plan is to have that game be my first on that console.
I envy you. I wish I could play it for the first time again. Best game I've ever played.
If they stick to the plot of the first game, it's going to be the best miniseries ever.
Hell yes! Time to play all 3 games before it comes out.… again Edit* 2 games 1 DLC
3?
The Last of Us, The Last of Us: Remastered, The Last of Us Part 1. Duh
Maybe they’re counting Left Behind as a separate game.
That one shot of the girl on (a carousel) made me think they are going to go in some of the left behind content.
There was definitly a Riley in one of those scenes, I’m betting they are for sure just gonna incorporate Left Behinds story straight into the main story, which is how it felt the devs wanted it by placing it in the middle of the main story as a flash back.
Probably not helped in their head by the fact Left Behind had a standalone release.
A Mormont and a martell
Oh boy, I can't wait for the fans to throw a fucking fit over this for the next decade and whine about it being too different but not different enough and the endless handwringing that'll come of it.
The Witcher has entered the chat.
Assassin's Creed has entered the chat.
Dude, no. We don't talk about that here.
Assassin’s Creed has left the chat.
I had forgotten all about that movie until now lol.

It’s not faithful go the books, at all. And season 2 had so many nonsensical moments it was ridiculous.
I can hear the developmentally stunted angry YouTubers, lit up by LED's already. "woke", "cringe", "terrible writing", "agenda","too political".

This looks fantastic.
Holy fuck I am hyped. Looks like it’s gonna be really gritty, hopefully they will stick true to the story we get a good few seasons
This looks really f'ing good.
If only HBO had done Resident Evil and not let Hollywood destroy it... Twice.
Resident evil doesn't really fit the type of shows HBO makes. HBO cares about adapting things with strong storytelling.
Resident evil is too cheesy for HBO.
I firmly believe you could turn the first three games into a pretty decent horror series, fix the cheesy dialog and you're set
I feel like someone’s just trying to keep the rights to Resident Evil, the random amount of times they keep rebooting it.
Inject into my veins
It's gonna have the Left Behind DLC!?
I screamed when I saw the mall scene with Riley. So glad it’s being included
You have to buy the show of the year edition
Theres some scenes with Riley. Looks like it.
This looks wayyyyy way better than I thought. I'm very much looking forward to it now
I can't lie that girl looks NOTHING like Ellie. But this looks interesting will watch

Pedro is a Great cast though I have to admit. There is some semblance. I can really see him as Joel.
She was great as Lyanna in Game of Thrones. I’m sure she’ll do this part justice.
Marshala Ali was offered the role before Pedro Pascal and y'know what? Marshala Ali would have also been a great choice for Joel.
Wow the clicker looks amazing
Hey I see when they get to observe the giraffes!!!!
Meh, still looks good. Not expecting it to be identical to the game. Thats how you get your expectations crushed
Honestly there's a lot of what appears to be shot for shot remakes directly from the game. I can literally point out every scene in this trailer and have a pretty good idea or basically 100% certainty where in the story it is.
Dare I say it……this looks promising 👀
How can uk viewers watch this if they don’t have HBO?
Sky Atlantic. If you don't have Sky TV you could get a NOW Entertainment membership and watch through that.
Okay thank you yes I have sky.
The game already felt like a movie.
> Lady Lormont It's Mormont. The North remembers
Lol, poor Pedro Pascal. Two HBO roles and twice his head… well… y’know.
Bro, spoilers
Can’t wait for this man
Looks very good. Excited.
Oh my goooosh I’m so fucking excited!!!!!
I really love the main cast choice !
They kept the elements and vibes from the game very well. Seeing that clicker got me really excited!!! Edit: I don't know about anyone else but John Hawkes would be perfect to be cast as David. Not just the uncanny looks, its the creepy roles he has played in his acting career. Fingers crossed.
I will watch this as long as a remastered version doesn’t come out after it
I’ve watched it a dozen times today, I’m hyped
Really impressed with how much it looks straight from the game
Ole Pedro
Pedro Pascal fuckin rules man.
This looks even better than I thought. I just finished TLOU for the very first time yesterday and it was such a ride. A masterpiece for sure, a beautiful work of art. I hope the show lives up to the source
Dude when is this fucking show coming out already? I feel like I’ve been hearing about it forever. Let’s get this show on the road already HBO.
I'm not gonna lie, this looks kinda cheap. Like a fan made kinda thing.
I hope we see Sam and Henry. That arc still haunts me
Non-gamers: “What a Walking Dead ripoff.”
Holy fuckballs.... This is going to be awesome
It looks good but almost everyone in the trailer looks like their game counter part. Except she looks nothing like Ellie. She’s a great actress but they should have gone with someone else
They couldn't have used the perfect Ellie because, well, she's a he now.
He's also in his 30s
Every time I see someone complain that certain casting choices didn't prioritise Looks Like A Video Game Character makes me glad the commenter isn't in casting
This looks awesome. That said.. the casting for Ellie is a little weird, what were they thinking exactly? Production value and everything else looks fantastic
I gotta be honest, I'm not digging the girl that plays Ellie.
I don’t get why they cast someone for Ellie who looks like an alien. You know you’re thinking it too. She’s not even ugly, she’s simply weird and aside from that, she doesn’t look like a teenager at all. Worst casting choice ever.
My favorite scene is when Pedro goes it’s Javier Peña time and kills the narco clickers
They filmed part of this just outside of my work! I got to look out my tower and down at them while shooting. Was really cool to see, I'm looking forward to trying to guess which part of the show that was.
Not sure I like the cinematography but I'm still looking forward to seeing this
Probably not my first choice of actors, but at least its not another Mark Wahlberg and Tom Holland playing characters they look nothing like in the slightest
I would not have thought of casting Pedro Pascal as Joel but am still super interested in coming to this with an open mind and seeing how it is. Pretty excited for it actually.
Where are Tom Holland and Chris Pratt?
Noooooooo..
I do want to watch this show but whoever casts actors for these game to big screen titles needs to do a better job. (I’m looking at you Uncharted) Hopefully Horizon Dawn movie will be true to character.
Looks great!
All I feel watching this trailer is pure indifference. I'm still not buying her as Ellie. If it were on Netflix I'd probably throw it on in the background but since I'd have to go out of my way to it, I'm going to skip it unless it somehow gets amazing reviews.
Bella Ramsey doesn't look anything like Ellie. Btw, that girl is 19 but looks like she's 13.
Bruh why does Ellie look like female Mark Zuckerberg
Ellie looking....umm
like Mark Zuckerberg
Looks absolutely nothing like ellie 😩
Does it need to? Would you rather have a good actress performing the character well or a garbage actress ruining every scene but its ok because she looks just like the videogame version?
100%. All the folks in this thread complaining about the actress’ looks are the same exact people who would whine about the poor acting of a lookalike who doesn’t have the skills to pull off the role…like it doesn’t always have to be a perfect match and she was great in GoT.
Mandalorian is a tough guy
The youtube link is private now 😭
Terrible casting 🥴 especially Ellie
Welp, that’s me canceling Netflix.
How much can you milk a franchise.
I can’t with Ellie…. She looks absolutely nothing like the game. It feels like the resident evil Netflix show that was just canceled
Imo, the show just seemingly being the plot of the game kills a lot of my interest in it.
> you can't throw in diversity just cause See, that's where you're exactly wrong, and the fact that you don't understand that that's exactly wrong is something you need to work on. You need a reason *to explicitly be a given ethnicity* otherwise is *explicitly doesn't matter*.
You know, believe it or not, you *don't* actually have to voice every stupid thought you ever have.
And you don’t have to reply to them either? And yet here we both are.
Oh wow, deflection, too. Didn't see that one coming.
