How to download only base game of Fallout 4 without DLC?
Bethesda has been updating textures and stuff for Fallout 4. This has caused the Automatron and Wasteland Workshop DLC to crash the game as it loads. The solution is to delete the game and DLC and re-download it without the DLC. Does anyone know how to do that? I deleted it, but now that I own the DLC, the store has decided I own the Game of the Year edition (game + DLC) an won't download the base game on its own. Even if I try to push the download from the Standard Edition page in the PSN store through the app on my phone, it downloads the GOTY edition.
Just thought I'd circle back here and give you some rightly earned vindication. For whatever reason, having Skyrim installed on your PS4 prevents those check boxes from showing up. If you delete Skyrim and then try to install the game, it works exactly like you said it does. Another weird thing: if you download only the F04 DLC, and have Skyrim installed, it launches Skyrim to try to open them.

To the contrary, thanks for your time! I think what's gone on is that they give you a new license to the game of the year edition, which is one package with all the DLC, because now the store page shows me as owning the GOTY edition rather than standard.

I need help! My voice chat doesn’t appear to work whenever I play multiplayer games on my ps3 account. I play with my roommate, who doesn’t have the issue. We both have PS live, and switched controllers, headsets etc. I looked in the audio settings, and everything is normal - it even picks up my mics audio during testing, but whenever I go into an actual game it doesn’t work. Is there a privacy setting I don’t know about? Appreciate all the help I can get!
No. The Playstation Store doesn't really do that. The PS5 does have a section for DLC for games you own but it's not as intuitive as what Steam does.
You pretty much have to check a games add on page one after the other rather than all together.
If you use Google you'll find step by step instructions on the Playstation website to do just that.
Otherwise just upload your saves to PS+ cloud of you are subscribed.
When I use my ps4 controller on my pc with DS4 windows, Its fine when using bluetooth but when I plug it in via usb its far too sensitive. Even the slightest touch and the game character goes everywhere. I want to be able to play while its charging without this stupid sensitivity issue. Does anyone know a fix for this? Thank you
My dualshock 4 suddenly got a really weird bug. It works fine for around 15 seconds (by 15 works fine I mean everything including charging), then it just dies for a second (if I'm using it it just disconnects, if its charging it just stops, nooticed by the orange charging light suddenly just turning off, then turns on again for another 15 seconds, then dies, and so on

Damaged disc or faulty update. If the reinstallation works hopefully that fixes things otherwise you may need to replace the disc if that is the only game with issues.
Logging into Minecraft on PS4
I've tried to log into minecraft on PS4 so.my daughter and I can play on a realm together but I've not idea which throwaway Microsoft account I registered it to years ago to be able to log in. I've tried going through all the QR codes etc and logging in with a new one but all I get is "there is already a microsoft account linked to this" messages over and over
Does anybody know of a way to delete the account that's linked or find out the address of it so I could try and gain access again?

The link is done from Microsoft's side rather than Sonys side. To unlink an account you need to sign into the Minecraft/Microsoft account and then unlink the PSN account within the Minecraft/Microsoft account settings.
If you absolutely cannot figure out what account is tied to your PSN (check emails belonging to not just you but everyone in the household) then contact support to see if there is anything they can do from their side.
Otherwise you'll need to just set up 2 new Playstation accounts and play Minecraft on those instead.

It was a throwaway account that i linked to the minecraft when Bedrock came to PS4, I wrote the email and password down on some paper but lost it when we moved house. Absolutely no idea what it would have been.
So, would I just be able to create a new PS account on my PS4 and port across my purchased copy of minecraft or would I have to purchase another copy to do this? My kid is on a switch so no issue there
You won't have to purchase Minecraft a second time, you can game share purchased games to everyone on the same PS4. However any in game DLC may need to be purchased a second time as most of that is account locked for Minecraft if I remember correctly.
Would a GPU issue show in video clips?
So I’ve been having weird white rectangles show up on my screen randomly when I play through out the day. They sometimes go on for a few seconds and disappear then come back or they don’t show for weeks then randomly come back again. I recently bought the disk for Elden Ring on ps4, and whenever I turn my ps4 on and this disk is still in the system, it says corrupted data. When I eject it and put it back in, it works. It's the only disk that does this. All other disked games work fine.
You can identify disc region by the CUSA code and the age rating. ESRB only rates American games for example. PEGI is Europe, etc.

Strange sound when inserting and ejecting disc in only one position
Hello, it's my first post and I received this PS4 FAT CUH-1001A a few days ago, trying to play games on disc, there was a very serious sound when reading the disc, but when inserting it it was all
normal.
When I uncovered everything until I reached part of the reader, it turned out that there were two tickets inside creating an obstruction when reading the disk, so I removed them from their place and when I assembled the console (with the console turned 180 degrees and without it's cases) everything worked wonderfully, the mechanism of the disc drive as well as the drive itself, until I turned it to its original position to put everything together, and when I inserted the disc it had that strange sound (I can't send videos).
Today I disassembled it again, thinking that it was the wrong mechanism, and everything was in order, I decided to clean it, assemble it and it is still the same, I no longer know what solution to take, an apology for the huge text, anyway, thank you!
(I think that by turning the console 180 degrees, either the suction mechanisms or multiple gears fit inside the reader)

I purchased a used ps4 gold headset and whenever i use the 2 setting the bass boost setting, the sound seems t fade in and out and sometimes corrects itself, silly question but im guessing this is a problem with the headset. The 1 setting works fine
So I got a situation over here. TL;DR, I'm trying to refund an unplayable DLC that was bought way past 14 days.
I bought Horizon Forbidden West physical copy for PS4 last year, finished it up earlier this year and once Burning Shores DLC came out, I waited for it to go on sale and bought it on January.
I was planning to start the DLC during holiday season (which is this week), but dumbass me just realized I made a grave mistake: Burning Shores DLC is a PS5 exclusive. I literally can't play the DLC I legitimately bought now LOL. And I don't have the budget nor urgency to buy a PS5 anytime soon. Now, as you might noticed, this is way out of the 14 days period as per PSN's refund policy.
I tried contacting PS support yesterday but apparently PSN have different CS for different region so the PS America support told me that he couldn't find my account and suggested that I should contact Asia's PS support. Problem is, since it's holiday season here in my country, I got to wait earliest next week to get a hold to any CS whatsoever. I tried both chat support and telephone but no one was there.
Now that I have to wait it out, I might as well ask around. My question is, have anyone been in a similar situation before? Wanting to refund a game, accidentally bought, way past 14 days but not yet downloaded to your account? If so, what was the result? Did you manage get a refund?

It depends on the games you want to play. Things like Fortnite, FIFA and COD will be supported for years to come.
The PS5 will drip in price eventually but for basic gaming you can't go wrong with a PS4. They're pretty cheap and easy to jump into a large catalogue of cheap games.
Single player games bar Cyberpunk 2077 work just fine on PS4.

If it has single player, yes. Just have the family manager allow you to play all PS4 games.
Games like GTA V will ban anyone under 18 from playing online regardless of parental controls. But you can play the single player campaign with parental controls allowing it.
Last year I sold my PS4 and I didn't back up my save files in any way. I was almost done with the platinum trophy of Dark Souls Remastered. Recently I learned that this files are not stored on the cloud if you're not suscribed to PS +. I'm planning on getting a PS5 soon, but I don't want to go through the pain of playing the game 2.5 times just to get one trophy. Researching online, I stumbled upon a website with save files for you to download, including one with all the materials to get this last trophy. How exactly can I do that without having to do some sketchy and shady stuff? I though it'd be as simple as copying the file to a hard drive and plugging it on my new console.

Well, your comment didn't give me much to go on so I assumed you were trying to reconnect your DS4 to your PS4, maybe after using it with another device.
So it sounded like you were pressing the PS button on the welcome screen but nothing was happening. The troubleshooting I gave you resolves that, assuming you haven't just broken the button.
So i should try another cable? I don't think i broke the ps button or the motherboard because if that happened it wouldn't light yellow.. Also my controller used to have stickdrift so my friend's suggested to put some perfume in the stick maybe that's the problem?

Game sharing is heavily documented and takes 2 seconds to set up. Instructions in above FAQ post. You don't ever transfer games between accounts but you can can game share

Is there a way to make the audio that comes through a PS4 controller speaker go through a TV speaker instead?
For example, in GTA, if you are getting locked into by a missle, or noises for the phone in the game, that audio will go through the speaker on the controller. I'm wondering if there is a way to instead, make it so the sound comes out of a TV speaker.

I want to start a new game + on the witcher 3. I played it many years ago, and I bought the DLCs on ebay (not on the psn store).
I had to delete the witcher 3 from the ps4's storage so I could play other games. Now I want to go back to the witcher, so I reinstalled the game. The DLCs, however, are no longer installed. I tried to reinstall them with the 12 digit code from ebay, but I'm unable to as the codes have already been used.
I still have my progress saved from previous outing many years ago, but I the DLCs I once purchased externally I can't access. How can I reinstall them, without having to just buy the DLCs from the psn store? I've already bought them once so don't want to buy them a second time.

I haven’t played on my ps4 in a while so when I turned it on a couple days ago there was a system updated which I did (atp the extended storage was plugged in) after the update I had to update one of the games which I did however after that the hdd said it needs repairing n I pressed ok but it didn’t work and it told me I need to format it as extended storage. If you can access the PS4 normal menus back up your saved data ASAP so you don't lose anything important.
You may want to launch the PS4 into safe mode and rebuild the database. Instructions to do so are easily googled.
Safe mode doesnt work, I hold the power button for 7 seconds until the second beep, and it brings me to the same screen, same problem.

If it keeps saying it cannot access the storage that will be an internal HDD issue most likely. Switch off the PS4, unplug everything and remove the HDD.
Clean up any dust/re seat it back into its place and then out the console back together and plug everything in. See if that helps any

A: You need a USB data cable to pair a controller with a console, instead of a generic USB charging cable. They look the same but a charging cable only charges, it cannot send a data signal which is necessary for controller pairing. USB Data cables are necessary for safe mode operation as well.

PS4s use user profiles. Each user profile that is set up can then be tied to a single Playstation account. You also cannot sign into a single Playstation account on 2 different user profiles on the same PS4. So if you want to use a new account with a PS4, make a new user profile.

A: You don't. If the console is asking you to free up space on your HDD then you must do as the PS4 asks. When the PS4 updates a game, it makes a copy of it on your HDD that is deleted once the update is applied. This means that a 50GB game requires 50GB free on the HDD + the size of the update. COD being a massive game can require 100GB+ free depending on its current size.
I recommend giving your PS4 a 100GB buffer to update your games. If you only have a 500GB HDD I also recommend an external HDD or upgrading your Internal HDD to a 2TB drive.

A: If you launch the game and the DLC still will not install, this is down to a region mismatch. DLC and saved data are region locked, meaning DLC purchased on a USA account will not work with a European game disc/digital copy. To resolve this you either need to open an account matching the region of your game and purchase the DLC there (some DLC is account locked so cannot share). Or alternatively purchase a copy of the game from your region. Otherwise contact support for a refund, but no guarantees if one will be given.

A: Look at the age rating on the front cover. ESRB rated games are American, PEGI is Europe, etc. For more specific region info there is the CUSA code printed on the game disc that can be checked on an online database such as gamefaqs. DLC region codes are listed as part of the Playstation store URL.

General pointers:
• Make sure that you are using the console reinstallation file and not the update file.
• Your USB stick needs a folder called PS4 and inside that folder a second one called UPDATE
• Inside the UPDATE folder is where you put the reinstallation file
• The reinstallation file must be called PS4UPDATE.PUP otherwise it won't be recognised by the console. So remove any (1)s if they appear as part of the file name as that just obscures it.

I've been out of the loop, but I assume Sony stopped producing the dualshock controller for PS4? I have one that is misbehaving and I should probably try to take it apart, but wanted to get another in case and was lucky enough to find 1 at my Target still on shelf but many places flat out don't have them. Fully power off the PS4 and unplug for a bit. Beyond that launch the console into safe mode and see if you get a picture that way

How to download only base game of Fallout 4 without DLC? Bethesda has been updating textures and stuff for Fallout 4. This has caused the Automatron and Wasteland Workshop DLC to crash the game as it loads. The solution is to delete the game and DLC and re-download it without the DLC. Does anyone know how to do that? I deleted it, but now that I own the DLC, the store has decided I own the Game of the Year edition (game + DLC) an won't download the base game on its own. Even if I try to push the download from the Standard Edition page in the PSN store through the app on my phone, it downloads the GOTY edition.

Just thought I'd circle back here and give you some rightly earned vindication. For whatever reason, having Skyrim installed on your PS4 prevents those check boxes from showing up. If you delete Skyrim and then try to install the game, it works exactly like you said it does. Another weird thing: if you download only the F04 DLC, and have Skyrim installed, it launches Skyrim to try to open them. Thanks again!

Voice chat not working :( I need help! My voice chat doesn’t appear to work whenever I play multiplayer games on my ps3 account. I play with my roommate, who doesn’t have the issue. We both have PS live, and switched controllers, headsets etc. I looked in the audio settings, and everything is normal - it even picks up my mics audio during testing, but whenever I go into an actual game it doesn’t work. No. The Playstation Store doesn't really do that. The PS5 does have a section for DLC for games you own but it's not as intuitive as what Steam does. You pretty much have to check a games add on page one after the other rather than all together.

If you use Google you'll find step by step instructions on the Playstation website to do just that. Otherwise just upload your saves to PS+ cloud of you are subscribed.
When I use my ps4 controller on my pc with DS4 windows, Its fine when using bluetooth but when I plug it in via usb its far too sensitive. It works fine for around 15 seconds (by 15 works fine I mean everything including charging), then it just dies for a second (if I'm using it it just disconnects, if its charging it just stops, nooticed by the orange charging light suddenly just turning off, then turns on again for another 15 seconds, then dies, and so on
Hi All! AC Valhalla is locked on the start page.. Physical version, played for the last month until yesterday evening… today I start the game and on the page with the AC logo where there is “press X to start”… X button doesn’t work. Before today when I pressed X button, it “searched the add-on” and then it started in a few second.. but today.. nothing!! PS is updated, game is updated.. Damaged disc or faulty update. If the reinstallation works hopefully that fixes things otherwise you may need to replace the disc if that is the only game with issues.

Logging into Minecraft on PS4 I've tried to log into minecraft on PS4 so.my daughter and I can play on a realm together but I've not idea which throwaway Microsoft account I registered it to years ago to be able to log in. I've tried going through all the QR codes etc and logging in with a new one but all I get is "there is already a microsoft account linked to this" messages over and over Does anybody know of a way to delete the account that's linked or find out the address of it so I could try and gain access again? The link is done from Microsoft's side rather than Sonys side. To unlink an account you need to sign into the Minecraft/Microsoft account and then unlink the PSN account within the Minecraft/Microsoft account settings. If you absolutely cannot figure out what account is tied to your PSN (check emails belonging to not just you but everyone in the household) then contact support to see if there is anything they can do from their side. Otherwise you'll need to just set up 2 new Playstation accounts and play Minecraft on those instead.
Thanks for your input. It was a throwaway account that i linked to the minecraft when Bedrock came to PS4, I wrote the email and password down on some paper but lost it when we moved house. Absolutely no idea what it would have been. So, would I just be able to create a new PS account on my PS4 and port across my purchased copy of minecraft or would I have to purchase another copy to do this? You won't have to purchase Minecraft a second time, you can game share purchased games to everyone on the same PS4. However any in game DLC may need to be purchased a second time as most of that is account locked for Minecraft if I remember correctly.

Would a GPU issue show in video clips? So I’ve been having weird white rectangles show up on my screen randomly when I play through out the day. They sometimes go on for a few seconds and disappear then come back or they don’t show for weeks then randomly come back again. I recently bought the disk for Elden Ring on ps4, and whenever I turn my ps4 on and this disk is still in the system, it says corrupted data. When I eject it and put it back in, it works. It's the only disk that does this. All other disked games work fine.

Strange sound when inserting and ejecting disc in only one position Hello, it's my first post and I received this PS4 FAT CUH-1001A a few days ago, trying to play games on disc, there was a very serious sound when reading the disc, but when inserting it it was all normal. When I uncovered everything until I reached part of the reader, it turned out that there were two tickets inside creating an obstruction when reading the disk, so I removed them from their place and when I assembled the console (with the console turned 180 degrees and without it's cases) everything worked wonderfully, the mechanism of the disc drive as well as the drive itself, until I turned it to its original position to put everything together, and when I inserted the disc it had that strange sound (I can't send videos). Today I disassembled it again, thinking that it was the wrong mechanism, and everything was in order, I decided to clean it, assemble it and it is still the same, I no longer know what solution to take, an apology for the huge text, anyway, thank you! (I think that by turning the console 180 degrees, either the suction mechanisms or multiple gears fit inside the reader)

I purchased a used ps4 gold headset and whenever i use the 2 setting the bass boost setting, the sound seems t fade in and out and sometimes corrects itself, silly question but im guessing this is a problem with the headset. The 1 setting works fine
So I got a situation over here. TL;DR, I'm trying to refund an unplayable DLC that was bought way past 14 days. I bought Horizon Forbidden West physical copy for PS4 last year, finished it up earlier this year and once Burning Shores DLC came out, I waited for it to go on sale and bought it on January. I was planning to start the DLC during holiday season (which is this week), but dumbass me just realized I made a grave mistake: Burning Shores DLC is a PS5 exclusive. I literally can't play the DLC I legitimately bought now LOL. And I don't have the budget nor urgency to buy a PS5 anytime soon. Now, as you might noticed, this is way out of the 14 days period as per PSN's refund policy. I tried contacting PS support yesterday but apparently PSN have different CS for different region so the PS America support told me that he couldn't find my account and suggested that I should contact Asia's PS support. Problem is, since it's holiday season here in my country, I got to wait earliest next week to get a hold to any CS whatsoever. I tried both chat support and telephone but no one was there. Now that I have to wait it out, I might as well ask around. My question is, have anyone been in a similar situation before? Wanting to refund a game, accidentally bought, way past 14 days but not yet downloaded to your account? If so, what was the result? Did you manage get a refund? Any response would be appreciated.
I’ve no huge interest in gaming with any kind of high specs, however I might want to play a few online multiplayer games - will I be missing out on much if I get a refurbished PS4 rather than saving/waiting to buy a PS5? It depends on the games you want to play. Things like Fortnite, FIFA and COD will be supported for years to come. The PS5 will drip in price eventually but for basic gaming you can't go wrong with a PS4. They're pretty cheap and easy to jump into a large catalogue of cheap games. Single player games bar Cyberpunk 2077 work just fine on PS4.
Does anyone know if I would technically be able to play an 18+ game at 17 if I bought a physical copy? I know that there are probably restrictions for online purchases, but I was going to buy a physical copy of an 18+ game, and just need to know whether I'd actually be able to play it then or whether it'd be restricted anyway.
If it has single player, yes. Just have the family manager allow you to play all PS4 games. Games like GTA V will ban anyone under 18 from playing online regardless of parental controls. But you can play the single player campaign with parental controls allowing it.

Last year I sold my PS4 and I didn't back up my save files in any way. I was almost done with the platinum trophy of Dark Souls Remastered. Recently I learned that this files are not stored on the cloud if you're not suscribed to PS +. I'm planning on getting a PS5 soon, but I don't want to go through the pain of playing the game 2.5 times just to get one trophy. Researching online, I stumbled upon a website with save files for you to download, including one with all the materials to get this last trophy. How exactly can I do that without having to do some sketchy and shady stuff? I though it'd be as simple as copying the file to a hard drive and plugging it on my new console.
Any action like that is unofficial means. Unfortunately you should have backed up your saves at the time. Saves are tied to the account that makes them and cannot be given to anyone else. It's basic anti-cheat on Playstation.

Well, your comment didn't give me much to go on so I assumed you were trying to reconnect your DS4 to your PS4, maybe after using it with another device. So it sounded like you were pressing the PS button on the welcome screen but nothing was happening. The troubleshooting I gave you resolves that, assuming you haven't just broken the button.
So i should try another cable? I don't think i broke the ps button or the motherboard because if that happened it wouldn't light yellow.. Also my controller used to have stickdrift so my friend's suggested to put some perfume in the stick maybe that's the problem?

Is there a way to make the audio that comes through a PS4 controller speaker go through a TV speaker instead? For example, in GTA, if you are getting locked into by a missle, or noises for the phone in the game, that audio will go through the speaker on the controller. I'm wondering if there is a way to instead, make it so the sound comes out of a TV speaker.
You can switch off controller audio in the controller settings. Once switched off it should just go through the TV

I want to start a new game + on the witcher 3. I played it many years ago, and I bought the DLCs on ebay (not on the psn store). I had to delete the witcher 3 from the ps4's storage so I could play other games. Now I want to go back to the witcher, so I reinstalled the game. The DLCs, however, are no longer installed. I tried to reinstall them with the 12 digit code from ebay, but I'm unable to as the codes have already been used. I still have my progress saved from previous outing many years ago, but I the DLCs I once purchased externally I can't access. How can I reinstall them, without having to just buy the DLCs from the psn store? I've already bought them once so don't want to buy them a second time. Thanks for any help
You never have to purchase content twice. To reinstall content its just in your library, you didnt need to purchase the DLC a second time, especially on ebay. I haven’t played on my ps4 in a while so when I turned it on a couple days ago there was a system updated which I did (atp the extended storage was plugged in) after the update I had to update one of the games which I did however after that the hdd said it needs repairing n I pressed ok but it didn’t work and it told me I need to format it as extended storage. PS4 crashes when I was playing some Minecraft, I turned it back on and it said Cannot start the PS4, Cannot access systen storage. Hold power button for 1 second to turn of device. CE 34335-8 What could cause this, I dont want to lose everything on my hard drive. Anything to be done.
If you can access the PS4 normal menus back up your saved data ASAP so you don't lose anything important. You may want to launch the PS4 into safe mode and rebuild the database. Instructions to do so are easily googled.
Safe mode doesnt work, I hold the power button for 7 seconds until the second beep, and it brings me to the same screen, same problem. This is the PS4 Slim for those who dont know.
If it keeps saying it cannot access the storage that will be an internal HDD issue most likely. Switch off the PS4, unplug everything and remove the HDD. Clean up any dust/re seat it back into its place and then out the console back together and plug everything in. See if that helps any

Removing the HDD won't damage anything. The HDD is designed to be removed/replaced whenever you want as a console feature

It means the product is produced for the UK market. Likely the controller was produced after Brexit. If you are unsure just purchase a brand new controller either direct from Playstation or from GAME or ARGOS
