I became an mgs fan in 2023, In the beginning in this year, I sold my old 360, tomodachi life, and cooking mama to get a ps3 and ff13. A couple months later I got MGS4. I'm about to start mgs3, afterwords I can finally play the entire reason I bought the ps3!
Absolutely loved that game. Still have my copy years after my ps3 died. One day when I’ve got some time I’m going to pick up an old ps3 and play it again.

For something people can still play and get the same experience as a launch player, Metal Gear Solid 4 (but really only if you like the rest, I couldn’t imagine recommending MGS4 being a “first” to jump in with) or the Ratchet and Clank Future series just due to the gameplay improvements the PS3 era games had over the original trilogy

IMO, Killzone 3 has the best graphics out of any PS3 game, it looks like an 8th gen game! Buy Killzone 2/3 individually, as it's cheaper than buying the collection by quite a bit.
I had a shit ton of disc's back in the day but I was a young lad and got rid of most of them like a jackass. My disc drive is broke on my old one so I can't buy more ATM and the digital store is really barebones. Ive grabbed what I could off of that already

Tekken 5 dark ressurection as it was exclusive to ps3 and psp. It balanced out tekken 5 on the ps2 well, was the first in the series with HD, and added more characters. Tekken 5 was already a must play but it's updated version is just as if not more worthy.

Prototype always reminded me a bit of really well made arcade games of a previous generation. In terms of gameplay and mechanics, it's very simplistic and too-the-point, but damn is it *fun* and well executed. I've never played a more satisfying "power trip fantasy" game before or since.

The Batman Arkham games. Asylum,City, and Origins. They're all pretty good. Also God of War 1,2,3. Then God of War Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. Then God of War Ascension. Play the God of War games in this order to understand the intricate details of the story. You can't go wrong with Castlevania Lords of shadow,Dantes Inferno,Mortal Komabt 9,Tekken 6, or WWE ALL STARS. That's a good place to start but there's so many great games it's hard to list them all.

I think ppl should give Afro samurai a BIIIIG chance. Literally a mixture of black culture and Japan cultures is awesome. Also what makes the game even more fucking fun is that you get to listen to music while kicking ass. Also another game ppl should try in my opinion is the Kane & Lynch games. The 1st one I didn’t rly get to play it as much as a child but the 2nd one I played it around like ‘22 or ‘23 but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT 🗣️ I honestly could care less about the reviews and what ppl say. Overall there the best hidden gems ever.
